| 3 | Lithofacies paleogeography mapping and reservoir prediction in tight sandstone strata: A case study from central Sichuan Basin, China显示文摘Sand-rich tight sandstone reservoirs are potential areas for oil and gas exploration. However, the high ratio of sandstone thickness to that of the strata in the formation poses many challenges and uncertainties to traditional lithofacies paleogeography mapping. Therefore, the prediction of reservoir sweet spots has remained problematic in the field of petroleum exploration. This study provides new insight into resolving this problem, based on the analyses of depositional characteristics of a typical modern sand-rich formation in a shallow braided river delta of the central Sichuan Basin, China. The varieties of sand-rich strata in the braided river delta environment include primary braided channels,secondary distributary channels and the distribution of sediments is controlled by the successive superposed strata deposited in paleogeomorphic valleys. The primary distributary channels have stronger hydrodynamic forces with higher proportions of coarse sand deposits than the secondary distributary channels. Therefore, lithofacies paleogeography mapping is controlled by the geomorphology, valley locations, and the migration of channels. We reconstructed the paleogeomorphology and valley systems that existed prior to the deposition of the Xujiahe Formation. Following this, rock-electro identification model for coarse skeletal sand bodies was constructed based on coring data. The results suggest that skeletal sand bodies in primary distributary channels occur mainly in the valleys and low-lying areas,whereas secondary distributary channels and fine deposits generally occur in the highland areas. The thickness distribution of skeletal sand bodies and lithofacies paleogeography map indicate a positive correlation in primary distributary channels and reservoir thickness. A significant correlation exists between different sedimentary facies and petrophysical properties. In addition, the degree of reservoir development in different sedimentary facies indicates that the mapping method reliably predicts the distribution of sweet spots. | 8 | Eogenetic Karst in Interbedded Carbonates and Evaporites and Its Impact on Hydrocarbon Reservoir: A New Case from Middle Triassic Leikoupo Formation in Sichuan Basin, Southwest China显示文摘Karst in interbedded carbonates and evaporites has been reported to have important and complex impacts on reservoir. It is significant for exploration and karst geology. Here, we report such a new case from Middle Triassic Leikoupo Formation of Sichuan Basin, Southwest China. Stratigraphic incompleteness and the occurrence of unconformity provide evidence for the presence of eogenetic karst. Under the impact of this eogenetic karst, residual weathered and solution-collapse breccia, solution pores and silicification and dedolomitization have been observed. Classic stratigraphic zonation of karst is not readily distinguishable, which is ascribed to the stratigraphic collapse of carbonate rocks resulting from the dissolution of evaporites by lateral subsurface fluid flow. In terms of impact on reservoir quality, karst can generally improve the initial physical property of the porous layers in theory. However, subsurface fluid flow dissolved the evarporitic beds and facilitated the collapse of overlying strata. As a consequence, the lateral continuity of the reservoirs would be destroyed, and relatively high-quality reservoirs can only be developed with little collapse of overlying strata, reflecting reservoir heterogeneities. | 9 | Exposure Effects of Terahertz Waves on Primary Neurons and Neuron-like Cells Under Nonthermal Conditions显示文摘Objective This study aimed to explore the potential effects of terahertz(THz) waves on primary cultured neurons from 4 rat brain regions(hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and brainstem)and 3 kinds of neuron-like cells(MN9 D, PC12, and HT22 cells) under nonthermal conditions.Methods THz waves with an output power of 50(0.16 THz) and 10(0.17 THz) m W with exposure times of 6 and 60 min were used in this study. Analysis of temperature change, neurite growth, cell membrane roughness, micromorphology, neurotransmitters and synaptic-related proteins(SYN and PSD95) was used to evaluate the potential effects.Results Temperature increase caused by the THz wave was negligible. THz waves induced significant neurotransmitter changes in primary hippocampal, cerebellar, and brainstem neurons and in MN9 D and PC12 cells. THz wave downregulated SYN expression in primary hippocampal neurons and downregulated PSD95 expression in primary cortical neurons.Conclusion Different types of cells responded differently after THz wave exposure, and primary hippocampal and cortical neurons and MN9 D cells were relatively sensitive to the THz waves. | 12 | Laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasonography in judging the resectability of pancreatic head cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical value of laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasonography (LUS) injudging the resectability of pancreatic head cancer.METHODS: LUS was employed as a prospective diagnosis of tumor staging before exploratory laparotomyin 22 patients diagnosed with pancreatic head cancer to identify whether the liver and peritoneum hadsmall metastases or local invasion to the portal vein, superior mesenteric vessel, aorta, inferior vena cava.RESULTS: In the 22 patients receiving laparoscopy and LUS, we found peritoneal or surface livermetastases (3 patients), hepatic parenchyma metastases (1), and pancreatitis proved by biopsy underultrasound guidance (1). Laparotomy was avoided in these 5 patients. Of the remaining 17 patients,8 patients, including 2 patients with portal vein emboli due to tumor metastases had hypertrophic lymphnodes or tumor invasion of local vessels in the peritoneal cavity, retroperitoneum, and omentum and theother 9 patients had resectable tumors shown by LUS. The 17 patients were subjected to exploratorylaparotomy, and pancreaticoduodenectomy was successful in 8 patients.CONCLUSIONS: Laparoscopy and LUS can be used to precisely estimate the possibility of resection ofpancreatic head cancer, and prevent unnecessary exploratory laparotomy and its complications. | 15 | Efficacy of Long-term Selenium Supplementation in the Treatment of Chronic Keshan Disease with Congestive Heart Failure显示文摘Few effective treatments for chronic Keshan disease have been available till now.The efficacy of long-term selenium supplementation in the treatment of chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart failure is inconclusive.This study aimed to determine whether selenium supplementation is associated with a decreased risk of cardiac death in chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart failure by ten years of follow-up.A retrospective long-term follow-up analysis was performed on a monitored cohort consisting of 302 chronic Keshan disease patients with a mean age of 40.8±11.4 years.Of the 302 chronic Keshan disease patients,170(56.3%)were given selenium supplementation until the end point of follow-up.Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to identify the independent predictors of cardiac events.Our results showed that during the follow-up,there were 101 deaths of patients with chronic Keshan disease in the selenium supplementation group(101/170,59.4%)and 98 in non-selenium supplementation group(98/132,74.2%).Multivariate analyses suggested that selenium supplementation was associated with a decreased risk of cardiac death(HR 0.39,95%CI 0.28-0.53)after adjustment for baseline age,sex,cigarette smoking,family history of Keshan disease,body mass index(BMI),heart rate,electrocardiogram(ECG)abnonnalities,blood pressure,initial cardiothoracic ratio,left ventricular可ection fractions(LVEF)and whole-blood selenium concentration.Our ten-year follow-up analysis indicated that selenium supplementation,specifically combined with the use of angiotensinconverting cnzyme inhibitor and beta blocker therapy,improved the survival of patients with chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart failure.BMI,selenium deficiency,male,combined ECG abnonnalities,LVEF,and fast heart rate increased the risk of cardiac events. | Yan-he ZHU Xin-feng WANG Guang YANG Jin WEI Wu-hong TAN Li-xin WANG Xiong GUO Mikko J.Lammi Jie-hua XU | 2019 | Current Medical Science2019,39,2: | 4 |

| 19 | Oblongifolin C suppresses lysosomal function independently of TFEB nuclear translocation显示文摘Lysosomes are the terminal organelles of the autophagic-endocytic pathway and play a key role in the degradation of autophagic contents. We previously reported that a natural compound oblongifolin C (OC) increased the number of autophagosomes and impaired the degradation of P62, most likely via suppression of lysosomal function and blockage of autophagosome-lysosome fusion. However, the precise mechanisms of how OC inhibits the lysosome-autophagy pathway remain unclear. In the present study, we investigated the effect of OC on transcription factor EB (TFEB), a master regulator of lysosomal biogenesis, lysosomal function and autophagy. We showed that treatment with OC (15 μM) markedly enhanced the nuclear translocation of TFEB in HeLa cells, concomitantly reduced the interaction of TFEB with 14-3-3 proteins. We further demonstrated that OC caused signi?cant inhibition of mTORC1 along with TFEB nuclear translocation, and OC-mediated TFEB nuclear translocation was dependent on mTORC1 suppression. Intriguingly, this increased nuclear TFEB was accompanied by reduced TFEB luciferase activity, increased lysosomal pH and impaired cathepsin enzyme activities. In HeLa cells, treatment with OC (7.5 μM) resulted in about 30% of cell death, whereas treatment with hydroxycitrate, a caloric restriction mimetic (20 μM) did not affect the cell viability. However, cotreatment with OC and hydroxycitrate caused signi?cantly great cytotoxicity (>50%).
