3Late Triassic sedimentary records in the northern Tethyan Himalaya:Tectonic link with Greater India显示文摘The Upper Triassic flysch sediments(Nieru Formation and Langjiexue Group)exposed in the Eastern Tethyan Himalayan Sequence are crucial for unraveling the controversial paleogeography and paleotectonics of the Himalayan orogen.This work reports new detrital zircon U-Pb ages and whole-rock geochemical data for clastic rocks from flysch strata in the Shannan area.The mineral modal composition data suggest that these units were mainly sourced from recycled orogen provenances.The chemical compositions of the sandstones in the strata are similar to the chemical composition of upper continental crust.These rocks have relatively low Chemical Index of Alteration values(with an average of 62)and Index of Compositional Variability values(0.69),indicating that they experienced weak weathering and were mainly derived from a mature source.The geochemical compositions of the Upper Triassic strata are similar to those of graywackes from continental island arcs and are indicative of an acidicintermediate igneous source.Furthermore,hornblende and feldspar experienced decomposition in the provenance,and the sediment became enriched in zircon and monazite during sediment transport.The detrital zircons in the strata feature two main age peaks at 225-275 Ma and 500-600 Ma,nearly continuous Paleoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic ages,and a broad inconspicuous cluster in the Tonian-Stenian(800-1200 Ma).The detrital zircons from the Upper Triassic sandstones in the study area lack peaks at 300-325 Ma(characteristic of the Lhasa block)and 1150-1200 Ma(characteristic of the Lhasa and West Australia blocks).Therefore,neither the Lhasa block nor the West Australia blocks likely acted as the main provenance of the Upper Triassic strata.Newly discovered Permian-Triassic basalt and mafic dikes in the Himalayas could have provided the 225-275 Ma detrital zircons.Therefore,Indian and Himalayan units were the main provenances of the flysch strata.The Tethyan Himalaya was part of the northern passive margin and was not an exotic terrane separated from India during the Permian to Early Cretaceous.This evidence suggests that the Neo-Tethyan ocean opened prior to the Late Triassic and that the Upper Triassic deposits were derived from continental crustal fragments adjacent to the northern passive continental margin of Greater India.Huawen Cao Yong Huang Guangming Li Linkui Zhang Jianyang Wu Lei Dong Zuowen Dai Liu Lu 2018Geoscience Frontiers2018,9,1:27

5Petrogenesis of Late Cretaceous Jiangla'angzong I-Type Granite in Central Lhasa Terrane, Tibet, China: Constraints from Whole-Rock Geochemistry, Zircon U-Pb Geochronology, and Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf Isotopes显示文摘The Jiangla'angzong granite in the northern part of the Central Lhasa Terrane is composed of syenogranite and adamellite. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb analyses suggest that syenogranite has a weighted mean ^(206) Pb/^(238) U age of 86±1 Ma(mean square weighted deviation=0.37), which is in accordance with the muscovite Ar-Ar age(85±1 Ma) of Cu-Au ore-bearing skarns and the zircon U-Pb age(84±1 Ma) of adamellite. This suggests that the Jiangla'angzong magmatism and Cu–Au mineralization events took place during the Late Cretaceous. The granite contains hornblende, biotite, and pyroxene, and does not contain Al-bearing minerals, such as muscovite, cordierite, and garnet. It has high contents of SiO_2(65.10–70.91 wt%), K_2O(3.44–5.17 wt%), and total K_2O+Na_2O(7.13–8.15 wt%), and moderate contents of A_(12)O_3(14.14–16.45 wt%) and CaO(2.33–4.11 wt%), with a Reitman index(σ43) of 2.18 to 2.33, and A/CNK values of 0.88 to 1.02. The P_2O_5 contents show a negative correlation with SiO_2, whereas Pb contents show a positive correlation with SiO_2. Th and Y contents are relatively low and show a negative correlation with the Rb contents. These characteristics suggest that the Jiangla'angzong granite is a high K calc–alkaline metaluminous I–type granite. It is enriched in light rare earth elements(LREE) and large ion lithofile elements(LILE), and depleted in heavy rare earth elements(HREE) and high field strength elements(HFSE), with LREE/HREE ratios of 11.7 to 18.1. The granite has negative Eu anomalies of 0.58 to 0.94 without obvious Ce anomalies(δCe=1.00–1.04). The relatively low initial 87 Sr/86 Sr ratios of 0.7106 to 0.7179, positive εHf(t) values of 1.0 to 4.1, and two-stage Hf model ages(TDM2) ranging from 889 Ma to 1082 Ma, These geochemical features indicate that the granite derived from a juvenile crust. The(^(143) Nd/^(144) Nd)_t values from the Jiangla'angzong granite range from 0.5121 to 0.5123, its εNd(t) values range from-10.17 to-6.10, its(^(206) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 18.683 to 18.746, its(^(207) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 15.695 to 15.700, and its(^(208) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 39.012 to 39.071. These data indicate that the granite was formed by melting of the upper crust with the addition of some mantle materials. 6Origin of the Newly Discovered Zhunuo Porphyry Cu-Mo-Au Deposit in the Western Part of the Gangdese Porphyry Copper Belt in the Southern Tibetan Plateau,SW China显示文摘The newly discovered Zhunuo porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposit is located in the western part of the Gangdese porphyry copper belt in southern Tibet, SW China. The granitoid plutons in the Zhunuo region are composed of quartz diorite porphyry, diorite porphyry, granodiorite porphyry, biotite monzogranite and quartz porphyry. The quartz diorite porphyry yielded zircon U-Pb ages of 51.9±0.7 Ma(Eocene) using LA-ICP-MS, whereas the diorite porphyry, granodiorite porphyry, biotite monzogranite and quartz porphyry yielded ages ranging from 16.2±0.2 to 14.0±0.2 Ma(Miocene). CuMo-Au mineralization is mainly hosted in the Miocene granodiorite porphyry. Samples from all granitoid plutons have geochemical compositions consistent with high-K calc-alkaline series magmatism. The samples display highly fractionated light rare-earth element(REE) distributions and heavy REE distributions with weakly negative Eu anomalies on chondrite-normalized REE patterns. The trace element distributions exhibit positive anomalies for large-ion lithophile elements(Rb, K, U, Th and Pb) and negative anomalies for high-field-strength elements(Nb and Ti) relative to primitive mantlenormalized values. The Eocene quartz diorite porphyry yielded εNd(t) values ranging from-3.6 to-5.2,(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i values in the range 0.7046–0.7063 and initial radiogenic Pb isotopic compositions with ranges of 18.599–18.657 ^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb, 15.642–15.673 ^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb and 38.956–39.199 ^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb. In contrast, the Miocene granitoid plutons yielded ε_(Nd)(t) values ranging from-6.1 to-7.3 and(87Sr/86Sr)i values in the range 0.7071–0.7078 with similar Pb isotopic compositions to the Eocene quart diorite. The Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic compositions of the rocks are consistent with formation from magma containing a component of remelted ancient crust. Zircon grains from the Eocene quartz diorite have ε_(Hf)(t) values ranging from-5.2 to +0.9 and two-stage Hf model ages ranging from 1.07 to 1.46 Ga, while zircon grains from the Miocene granitoid plutons have ε_(Hf)(t) values from-9.9 to +4.2 and two-stage Hf model ages ranging from 1.05–1.73 Ga, indicating that the ancient crustal component likely derives from Paleo- to Mesoproterozoic basement. This source is distinct from that of most porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposits in the eastern part of the Gangdese porphyry copper belt, which likely originated from juvenile crust. 7A restoration-promoting integrated floating bed and its experimental performance in eutrophication remediation显示文摘Numerous studies on eutrophication remediation have mainly focused on purifying water first, then restoring submerged macrophytes. A restoration-promoting integrated floating bed(RPIFB) was designed to combine the processes of water purification and macrophyte restoration simultaneously. Two outdoor experiments were conducted to evaluate the ecological functions of the RPIFB. Trial 1 was conducted to compare the eutrophication purification among floating bed, gradual-submerging bed(GSB) and RPIFB technologies. The results illustrated that RPIFB has the best purification capacity. Removal efficiencies of RPIFB for TN, TP, NH+ 4-N, NO-3-N, CODCr, Chlorophyll-a and turbidity were 74.45%, 98.31%, 74.71%, 88.81%, 71.42%, 90.17% and 85%, respectively. In trial 2, influences of depth of GSB and photic area in RPIFB on biota were investigated. When the depth of GSB decreased and the photic area of RPIFB grew, the height of Potamogeton crispus Linn. increased, but the biomass of Canna indica Linn. was reduced. The mortalities of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus and Bellamya aeruginosa in each group were all less than 7%. All results indicated that when the RPIFB was embedded into the eutrophic water, the regime shift from phytoplankton-dominated to macrophyte-dominated state could be promoted. 9Metamorphic Characteristics and Tectonic Implications of the Kadui Blueschist in the Central Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone,Southern Tibet显示文摘The Kadui blueschist is located in the central section of Yarlung Zangbo suture zone(YZSZ), southern Tibet, and has been subjected to the subduction of the Neo-Tethyan Ocean below the Asian Plate and provides important clues for better understanding the evolution of the India-Asia convergence zone. In this paper, the systematical petrographic and mineral chemical studies were carried out on the Kadui blueschist, which reveal a mineral assemblage of sodic amphibole, chlorite, epidote, albite and quartz with accessory minerals of titanite, calcite and zircon. Electron microprobe analyses demonstrate that amphibole shows zoned from actinolite core to ferrowinchite/riebeckite rim composition indicating that the sodic amphibole has formed during a prograde metamorphic event. The protolith of the blueschist is an intermediate-basic pyroclastic rock. The calculated pseudosection indicates a clockwise P-T path and constrains peak metamorphic conditions of about 5.9 kbar at 345 ℃. This condition is transitional between pumpellyite-actinolite, greenschist and blueschist facies with a burial depth of 20–22 km and a thermal gradient of 15–16 ℃/km. This thermal gradient belongs to high pressure intermediate P/T facies series and is possibly related to a warm subduction setting of young oceanic slabs. 10CRISPR/Cas9-mediated disruption of TaNP1 genes results in complete male sterility in bread wheat显示文摘Male sterile genes and mutants are valuable resources in hybrid seed production for monoclinous crops.High genetic redundancy due to allohexaploidy makes it difficult to obtain the nuclear recessive male sterile mutants through spontaneous mutation or chemical or physical mutagenesis methods in wheat.The emerging effective genome editing tool,CRISPR/Cas9 system,makes it possible to achieve simultaneous mutagenesis in multiple homoeoalleles.To improve the genome modification efficiency of the CRISPR/Cas9 system in wheat,we compared four different RNA polymerase(Pol)Ⅲpromoters(TaU3 p,TaU6 p,OsU3 p,and OsU6 p)and three types of sgRNA scaffold in the protoplast system.We show that the TaU3 promoter-driven optimized sgRNA scaffold was most effective.The optimized CRISPR/Cas9 system was used to edit three TaNP1 homoeoalleles,whose orthologs,OsNP1 in rice and ZmIPE1 in maize,encode a putative glucose-methanol-choline oxidoreductase and are required for male sterility.Triple homozygous mutations in TaNP1 genes result in complete male sterility.We further demonstrated that anyone wild-type copy of the three TaNP1 genes is sufficient for maintenance of male fertility.Taken together,this study provides an optimized CRISPR/Cas9 vector for wheat genome editing and a complete male sterile mutant for development of a commercially viable hybrid wheat seed production system.Jian Li Zheng Wang Guangming He Ligeng Ma Xing Wang Deng 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,5:12

12Potential Benefits of Biochar in Agricultural Soils:A Review显示文摘Soil degradation,characterized by declines in nutrient status and simultaneous accumulation of pesticide residues,is a major problem affecting agricultural ecosystems.Previous studies indicate that biochar application to soil has promise as a practical method to alleviate these pressures:increasing crop yield and enhancing pesticide degradation.Here,we review the roles of biochar in both chemical and biological promotion of pesticide degradation and the potential benefits of biochar relating to the efficiency of fertilizer use,availability of nutrients,and nutrient exchange.Biochar typically has a high surface area featuring many functional groups,a high cation exchange capacity,and high stability.Major factors that impact on the nutrient retention characteristics of biochar(e.g.,feedstock,pyrolysis temperature,and application rate) are also discussed herein.Nonetheless,more studies of the long-term impacts on soil properties from biochar addition are still required before it can be possible to accurately quantify the sustainability of this approach to sequester carbon and restore soil function.DING Yang LIU Yunguo LIU Shaobo HUANG Xixian LI Zhongwu TAN Xiaofei ZENG Guangming ZHOU Lu 2017Pedosphere2017,27,4:10
13Enhanced efficiency of cadmium removal by Boehmeria nivea(L.) Gaud. in the presence of exogenous citric and oxalic acids显示文摘Boehmeria nivea(L.)Gaud.is a potential candidate for the remediation of Cd contaminated sites.The present investigation aims to explore Cd tolerance threshold and to quickly identify the role of exogenous organic acids in Cd uptake and abiotic metal stress damage.Elevated Cd levels(0–10 mg/L)resulted in an obvious rise in Cd accumulation,ranging from268.0 to 374.4 in root and 25.2 to 41.2 mg/kg dry weight in shoot,respectively.Citric acid at1.5 mmol/L significantly facilitated Cd uptake by 26.7%in root and by 1-fold in shoot,respectively.Cd translocation efficiency from root to shoot was improved by a maximum of66.4%under 3 mmol/L of oxalic acid.Citric acid exhibited more prominent mitigating effect than oxalic acid due to its stronger ligand affinity for chelating with metal and avoiding the toxicity injury of free Cd ions more efficiently.The present work provides a potential strategy for efficient Cd remediation with B.nivea.Huaying Li Yunguo Liu Guangming Zeng Lu Zhou Xin Wang Yaqin Wang Chunlin Wang Xinjiang Hu Weihua Xu 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,12:10
14Programmed Death Ligand-1 on Microglia Regulates Th1 Differentiation via Nitric Oxide in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis显示文摘Microglia are considered to be potential antigen-presenting cells and have the ability to present antigen under pathological conditions. Nevertheless, whether and how microglia are involved in immune regulation are largely unknown. Here, we investigated the suppressive activity of microglia during experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) induced by myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein, with the goal of understanding their role in regulating the T cell reaction. Using flow cytometric analysis, we found that microglia were characterized by increased cell number and up-regulated programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1) at the peak phase of EAE. Meanwhile,both the CD^(4+)T cells and microglia that infiltrated the central nervous system expressed higher levels of PD1, the receptor for PD-L1, accompanied by a decline of Th1 cells.In an ex vivo co-culture system, microglia from EAE mice inhibited the proliferation of antigen-specific CD^(4+)T cells and the differentiation of Th1 cells, and this was significantly inhibited by PD-L1 blockade. Further,microglia suppressed Th1 cells via nitric oxide(NO), the production of which was dependent on PD-L1. 16Effects of surfactants on enzyme-containing reversed micellar system显示文摘With the development of colloid interface and enzyme technologies,enzyme-containing reversed micellar system has been receiving much attention in bioseparation and bioconversion. Because of its high efficiency,it has brought new opportunities for the development of molecular biotechnology. Reversed micelles represent nano-sized aqueous droplets stabilized by surfactant amphiphiles inside the bulk organic solvents. The entrapped enzymes have enhanced activities under those conditions as suited in the lipid bilayers of biological membranes. The fundamentals of enzyme-containing reversed micellar system are described in this paper,with special emphasis on the effects of surfactants varying in concentrations and structures. The latest study progress on the surfactants application in enzyme-containing reversed micelles is reviewed. 18Wireless whispering-gallery-mode sensor for thermal sensing and aerial mapping显示文摘The Internet of Things(IoT)1,2 employs a large number of spatially distributed wireless sensors to monitor physical environments,e.g.,temperature,humidity,and air pressure,and has many applications,including environmental monitoring3,health care monitoring4,smart cities5,and precision agriculture.A wireless sensor can collect,analyze,and transmit measurements of its environment1,2.Currently,wireless sensors used in the IoT are predominately based on electronic devices that may suffer from electromagnetic interference in many circumstances.Being immune to the electromagnetic interference,optical sensors provide a significant advantage in harsh environments6.Furthermore,by introducing optical resonance to enhance light–matter interactions,optical sensors based on resonators exhibit small footprints,extreme sensitivity,and versatile functionalities7,8,which can significantly enhance the capability and flexibility of wireless sensors.Here we provide the first demonstration of a wireless photonic sensor node based on a whisperinggallery-mode(WGM)optical resonator,in which light propagates along the circular rim of such a structure like a sphere,a disk,or a toroid by continuous total internal reflection.The sensor node is controlled via a customized iOS app.Its performance was studied in two practical scenarios:(1)real-time measurement of the air temperature over 12 h and(2)aerial mapping of the temperature distribution using a sensor node mounted on an unmanned drone.Our work demonstrates the capability of WGM optical sensors in practical applications and may pave the way for the large-scale deployment of WGM sensors in the IoT.Xiangyi Xu Weijian Chen Guangming Zhao Yihang Li Chenyang Lu Lan Yang 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:8
19Metamorphic Petrology of Clinopyroxene Amphibolite from the Xigaze Ophiolite,Southern Tibet: P-T Constraints and Phase Equilibrium Modeling显示文摘The clinopyroxene amphibolite from the Bailang terrane is located in the central section of the Yarlung Zangbo suture zone(YZSZ),southern Tibet.The study of it is expected to provide important clues for the subduction of the Neo-Tethyan Ocean below the Asian Plate and thus for better understanding of the development of the India-Asia collision zone.Based on integrated textural,mineral compositional,metamorphic reaction history and geothermobarometric studies of the clinopyroxene amphibolite within a serpentinite mélange,four overprinted metamorphic stages are established.They are the first metamorphic record of M1 stage indicated by a relict assemblage of plagioclase+clinopyroxene+amphibole,an early M2 stage characterized by an assemblage of medium-grained clinopyroxene+amphibole+plagioclase+quartz as well as rutile inclusion in titanite,which is formed during burial process,an isobaric cooling M3 stage which is characterized by an assemblage of clinopyroxene+amphibole+plagioclase+titanite,and a decomposing retrograde stage M4,which is represented by the amphibolite+plagioclase symplectite+titanite+rutile+quartz.By applying the THERMOCALC(versions 6.2 and 6.3)technique in the NCFMASHTO system,the P-T conditions estimated from M1 to M4 stages are ca.8.6 kbar/880℃,10.8–13.4 kbar/800–840℃,12.7–13.2 kbar/650–660℃ and<11.2 kbar/640℃,respectively.The mineral assemblages and their P-T conditions define a counterclockwise P-T path for the clinopyroxene amphibolite of the Xigaze ophiolite,suggesting that the rocks underwent a cooling process during burial from magmatic protolith,and a decompressing stage after the pressure peak metamorphic conditions,which implies that the Bailang terrane of the Xigaze ophiolite may have experienced subduction/collision-related tectonic processes.The peak metamorphism reaches to the transitional P-T conditions among amphibolite facies,granulite facies and eclogite facies with a burial depth of 30–40 km.After exhumation of the ophiolitic unit to the shallow crustal levels,the clinopyroxene amphibolite exposes to a high fO2 condition on the basis of the stable epidotebearing assemblage in the T-MO2 diagrams.A late subgreenschist facies overprinting subsequently occurs,the relevant mineral assemblage is prehnite+albite+chlorite+epidote+quartz.Yancheng Zhang Xu-Ping Li Guangming Sun Zeli Wang Wenyong Duan 2019Journal of Earth Science2019,30,3:7
20Key technologies and engineering practices for soft-rock protective seam mining显示文摘Severe gas disasters in deep mining areas are increasing,and traditional protective coal seam mining is facing significant challenges.This paper proposes an innovative technology using soft rock as the protective seam in the absence of an appropriate coal seam.Based on the geological engineering conditions of the new horizontal first mining area of Luling Coal Mine in Huaibei,China,the impacts of different mining parameters of the soft-rock protective seam on the pressure-relief effect of the protected coal seam were analyzed through numerical simulation.The unit stress of the protected coal seam,which was less than half of the primary rock stress,was used as the mining stress pressure-relief index.The optimized interlayer space was found to be 59 m for the first soft-rock working face,with a 2 m mining thickness and 105 m face length.The physicochemical characteristics of the orebody were analyzed,and a device selection framework for the soft-rock protective seam was developed.Optimal equipment for the working face was selected,including the fully-mechanized hydraulic support and coal cutter.A production technology that combined fully-mechanized and blasting-assisted soft-rock mining was developed.Engineering practices demonstrated that normal circulation operation can be achieved on the working face of the soft-rock protective seam,with an average advancement rate of 1.64 m/d.The maximum residual gas pressure and content,which were measured at the cut hole position of the protected coal seams(Nos.8 and 9),decreased to 0.35 MPa and 4.87 m^3/t,respectively.The results suggested that soft-rock protective seam mining can produce a significant gas-control effect.Xiang Cheng Guangming Zhao Yingming Li Xiangrui Meng Qingyi Tu 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6:7
