1A Road Extraction Method for Remote Sensing Image Based on Encoder-Decoder Network显示文摘According to the characteristics of the road features,an Encoder-Decoder deep semantic segmentation network is designed for the road extraction of remote sensing images.Firstly,as the features of the road target are rich in local details and simple in semantic features,an Encoder-Decoder network with shallow layers and high resolution is designed to improve the ability to represent detail information.Secondly,as the road area is a small proportion in remote sensing images,the cross-entropy loss function is improved,which solves the imbalance between positive and negative samples in the training process.Experiments on large road extraction datasets show that the proposed method gets the recall rate 83.9%,precision 82.5%and F1-score 82.9%,which can extract the road targets in remote sensing images completely and accurately.The Encoder-Decoder network designed in this paper performs well in the road extraction task and needs less artificial participation,so it has a good application prospect.Hao HE Shuyang WANG Shicheng WANG Dongfang YANG Xing LIU 2020Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2020,3,2:20

5Baicalein protects against the development of angiotensin II-induced abdominal aortic aneurysms by blocking JNK and p38 MAPK signaling显示文摘An abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA) is a permanent, localized dilatation of the abdominal aorta. In western countries, the morbidity of AAA is approximately 8%. Currently, pharmacotherapies for AAA are limited. Here, we demonstrate that baicalein(BAI), the main component of the Chinese traditional drug 'Huang Qin', attenuates the incidence and severity of AAA in Apoe儃/儃 mice infused with angiotensin II(AngII). Mechanically, BAI treatment decreases AngII-induced reactive oxygen species(ROS) production in the aortic wall. Moreover, BAI inhibits inflammatory cell accumulation in the aortas of mice infused with AngII. It also inhibits AngII-induced activation of matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2) and MMP-9 to maintain elastin content in vivo. In addition, it blocks AngII cascade by downregulating angiotensin type 1 receptor(AT1R) and inhibiting mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs). 7An improved form of smoothed particle hydrodynamics method for crack propagation simulation applied in rock mechanics显示文摘The simulation of crack propagation processes in rock engineering has been not only a research hot spot among scholars but also a challenge.Based on this background,a new numerical method named improved kernel of smoothed particle hydrodynamics(IKSPH)has been put forward.By improving the kernel function in the traditional smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method,the brittle fracture characteristics of the base particles are realized.The particle domain searching method(PDSM)has also been put forward to generate the arbitrary complex fissure networks.Three numerical examples are analyzed to validate the efficiency of IKSPH and PDSM,which can correctly reveal the morphology of wing crack and the laws of crack coalescence compared with previous experimental and numerical studies.Finally,a rock slope model with complex joints is numerically simulated and the progressive failure processes are exhibited,which indicates that the IKSPH method can be well applied to rock mechanics engineering.The research results showed that IKSPH method reduces the programming difficulties and avoids the traditional grid distortion,which can provide some references for the application of IKSPH to rock mechanics engineering and the understanding of rock fracture mechanisms.Shuyang Yu Xuhua Ren Jixun Zhang Haijun Wang Zhaohua Sun 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,3:6

9Effects of three needling manipulations of the right-side Zusanli(ST 36) on brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects on the brain using three needling manipulations(twirling, lifting-thrusting, and twirling plus lifting-thrusting)when the right-side Zusanli(ST 36) acupoint was stimulated with needles.METHODS: Seventeen healthy subjects accepted three needling manipulations stimulating the right Zusanli(ST 36) over separate days. Functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to detect changes in the brain during the manipulations, and then the needling sensations were recorded using the MGH acupuncture sensation scale(MASS) after each scan. f MRI data were processed using Statistical Parametric Mapping 8 to analyze the positiveand negative activation in the brain induced by different acupuncture manipulations.RESULTS: The individual needling sensations showed no statistically significant differences among the three manipulations. However, the MASS index showed that lifting-thrusting > twirling plus lifting-thrusting > twirling. Lifting-thrusting activated left premotor cortex, left postcentral,right middle frontal gyrus, left inferior frontal gyrus,right lingual gyrus, left insula, right putamen, bilateral cingulate gyrus and right cerebellum; and deactivated bilateral hippocampus and left caudate.Twirling activated bilateral orbital middle frontal gyrus, left opercular and triangular inferior frontal gyrus, and right middle occipital gyrus; and deactivated bilateral precuneus, right amygdala, left anterior cingulate gyrus, right inferior temporal gyrus,right middle frontal gyrus, right supplementary motor gyrus, and left postcentral. Twirling plus lifting-thrusting activated bilateral postcentral, left inferior occipital gyrus, left insula, left thalamus, left cingulate gyrus, and right putamen; and deactivated right superior frontal gyrus, right superior parietal gyrus, right temporal gyrus, right middle occipital gyrus, right insula, and left lingual gyrus. Pairwise comparisons of the three manipulations showed that signals induced by lifting-thrusting were the strongest, especially in the limbic system,followed by twirling plus lifting-thrusting; twirling alone was the weakest.CONCLUSION: Three methods of needling manipulations similarly activated areas associated with the somatosensory system, vision, cognition, and emotional regulation. 12ShadowGAN: Shadow synthesis for virtual objects with conditional adversarial networks显示文摘We introduce ShadowGAN, a generative adversarial network(GAN) for synthesizing shadows for virtual objects inserted in images. Given a target image containing several existing objects with shadows,and an input source object with a specified insertion position, the network generates a realistic shadow for the source object. The shadow is synthesized by a generator; using the proposed local adversarial and global adversarial discriminators, the synthetic shadow's appearance is locally realistic in shape, and globally consistent with other objects' shadows in terms of shadow direction and area. To overcome the lack of training data,we produced training samples based on public 3D models and rendering technology. 13Group VB transition metal dichalcogenides for oxygen reduction reaction and strain-enhanced activity governed by p-orbital electrons of chalcogen显示文摘Developi ng alter native oxyge n reducti on reactio n (ORR) catalysts to replace precious Pt-based metals with abundant materials is the key challe nge of commercial application of fuel cells. Owing to their various compositi ons and tun able electronic properties, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have the great potential to realize high-efficiency catalysts for ORR. Here, various 3R-phase dichalcogenides of group VB and VIB transition metals (MX2, M = Nb, Ta, Mo, W;X = S, Se, Te) are investigated for ORR catalysts by using density functional theory calculations. The computed over-potentials of group VB TMDs are much less than those of group VIB TMDs. For group VB TMDs, a volcano-type plot of ORR catalytic activity is established on the adsorption energies of *OH, and NbS2 and TaTe2 exhibit best ORR activity with an oveepotential of 0.54 V. To achieve even better activity, strain engineering is performed to tune ORR catalytic activity, and the minimum over-potential of 0.43 V can be realized. 14Influence of rare earth Ce on hot deformation behavior of as-cast Mn18Cr18N high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel显示文摘The hot deformation behavior of Mn18Cr18N and Mn18Cr18N+Ce high nitrogen austenitic stainless steels at 1173-1473 K and 0.01-1 s^(-1) were investigated by thermal compression tests.The influence mechanism of Ce on the hot deformation behavior was analyzed by Ce-containing inclusions and segregation of Ce.The results show that after the addition of Ce,large,angular,hard,and brittle inclusions(TiN-Al_(2)O_(3),TiN,and Al_(2)O_(3)) can be modified to fine and dispersed Ce-containing inclusions(Ce-Al-O-S and TiN-Ce-Al-O-S).During the solidification,Ce-containing inclusions can be used as heterogeneous nucleation particles to refine as-cast grains.During the hot deformation,Ce-containing inclusions can pin dislocation movement and grain boundary migration,induce dynamic recrystallization(DRX)nucleation,and avoid the formation and propagation of micro cracks and gaps.In addition,during the solidification,Ce atoms enrich at the front of solid-li-quid interface,resulting in composition supercooling and refining the secondary dendrites.Similarly,during the hot deformation,Ce atoms tend to segregate at the boundaries of DRX grains,inhibiting the growth of grains.Under the synergistic effect of Ce-containing inclusions and Ce segregation,although the hot deformation resistance and hot deformation activation energy are improved,DRX is more likely to occur and the size of DRX grains is significantly refined,and the problem of hot deformation cracking can be alleviated.Finally,the microhardness of the samples was measured.The results show that compared with as-cast samples,the microhardness of hot-deformed samples increases signific-antly,and with the increase of DRX degree,the microhardness decreases continuously.In addition,Ce can affect the microhardness of Mn18Cr18N steel by affecting as-cast and hot deformation microstructures.Yushuo Li Yanwu Dong Zhouhua Jiang Qingfei Tang Shuyang Du Zhiwen Hou 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,2:4
15Application of next-generation sequencing to screen for pathogenic mutations in 123 unrelated Chinese patients with Marfan syndrome or a related disease显示文摘Marfan syndrome(MFS) is a systemic connective tissue disease principally affecting the ocular, skeletal and cardiovascular systems. This autosomal dominant disorder carries a prevalence of 1:3,000 to 1:5,000. This study aims to define the mutational spectrum of MFS related genes in Chinese patients and to establish genotype-phenotype correlations in MFS. Panel-based targeted next-generation sequencing was used to analyze the FBN1, TGFBR1 and TGFBR2 genes in 123 unrelated Chinese individuals with MFS or a related disease. Genotype-phenotype correlation analyses were performed in mutation-positive patients. The results showed that 97 cases/families(78.9%;97/123) harbor at least one(likely) pathogenic mutation, most of which were in FBN1;four patients had TGFBR1/2 mutations;and one patient harbored a SMAD3 mutation. Three patients had two FBN1 mutations, and all patients showed classical MFS phenotypes. Patients with a dominant negative-FBN1 mutation had a higher prevalence of ectopia lentis(EL). Patients carrying a haploinsufficiency-FBN1 mutation tended to have aortic dissection without EL. 17Heat rate variability and dyssomnia and their correlations to neurological defects in cerebral infarction patients complicated by insomnia A concurrent non-randomized case-control study显示文摘BACKGROUND: Heart rate variability refers to the beat-to-beat alteration in heart rate. It is usually a slight periodic variation of R-R intervals. Much information of autonomic nerve system balance can be obtained by measuring the heart rate variability of patients. It remains to be shown whether heart rate variability can be used as an index for determining the severity of insomnia and cerebral infarction. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to analyze the correlation for each frequency spectrum parameter of heart rate variability with an insomnia index, as well as the degree of neurological defects in patients with simple cerebral infarction and cerebral infarction complicated by insomnia. The goal was to verify the feasibility of frequency spectrum parameters for heart rate variability as a marker for insomnia and cerebral infarction. DESIGN: A case-control observation. SETTING: Department of Neurology, First Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University. PARTICIPANTS: Sixty inpatients, and/or outpatients, with cerebral infarction were admitted to the 202 Hospital of Chinese PLA between December 2005 and October 2006, confirmed by CT, and recruited to the study. According to the insomnia condition (insomnia is defined by a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score > 7), the patients were assigned to a simple cerebral infarction group and a cerebral infarction complicated by insomnia group, with 30 subjects in each group. Thirty additional subjects, who concurrently received ex- aminations and were confirmed to not suffer from cerebral infarction and insomnia, were recruited into the control group. Written informed consent was obtained from each subject for laboratory specimens. The pro- tocol was approved by the Hospital's Ethics Committee. METHODS: Following admission, each subject's neurological impairment was assessed with the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Heart rate variability of each subject was measured with an autonomic nerve analyzer (Weijin Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Taiwan). Each frequency spectrum parameter of heart rate variability was obtained, including very low frequency, low fre- quency, high frequency, total power, R-R interval, and its mean square. In addition, percentage of low fre- quency, high frequency, and ratio of low frequency to high frequency were calculated. For each heart rate frequency spectrum parameter, the difference between groups was analyzed. Moreover, correlations of each frequency spectrum parameter with insomnia and disease condition were analyzed. Data from each index, which were not normally distributed, were processed by logarithmic transformation. The t-test was used for the comparison of intergroup differences. Single-factor linear regression analysis and t-test were used for the analysis of factor-factor correlation and coefficient of correlation, respectively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Differences of scores in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index between the simple cerebral infarction group and the cerebral in- farction complicated by insomnia group. ② Differences of heart rate variability parameters between the simple cerebral infarction group and the control group. ③ Correlation of heart rate variability parameters, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score, and the neurological impairment score. RESULTS: Sixty patients and thirty healthy controls were included in the final analysis. ① The scores of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the neurological impairment were significantly higher in the cerebral infarction complicated by insomnia group compared to the simple cerebral infarction group (P < 0.05-0.01). ② R-R interval was significantly longer in the simple cerebral infarction group than in the control group, while R-R interval variance and high-frequency band were significantly lower in the simple cerebral infarc- tion group compared to the control group (P < 0.05). ③ For cerebral infarction patients with insomnia, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score was significantly positively correlated with neurological impairment (r = 0.54, P < 0.01). The low-frequency band, very low-frequency band, high-frequency band, R-R interval variance, total power, R-R interval, and the percentage of high-frequency were significantly negativelycorrelated with the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score (r =-0.45 to -0.90, P < 0.05-0.01) and with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores (r = -0.56 to -0.36, P < 0.05-0.01). 19COVID-19-associated monocytic encephalitis(CAME):histological and proteomic evidence from autopsy显示文摘Severe neurological symptoms are associated with Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,the morphologic features,pathological nature and their potential mechanisms in patient brains have not been revealed despite evidence of neurotropic infection.In this study,neuropathological damages and infiltrating inflammatory cells were quantitatively evaluated by immunohistochemical staining,ultrastructural examination under electron microscopy,and an image threshold method,in postmortem brains from nine critically ill COVID-19 patients and nine age-matched cadavers of healthy individuals.Differentially expressed proteins were identified by quantitative proteomic assays.Histopathological findings included neurophagocytosis,microglia nodules,satellite phenomena,extensive edema,focal hemorrhage,and infarction,as well as infiltrating mononuclear cells.Immunostaining of COVID-19 brains revealed extensive activation of both microglia and astrocytes,severe damage of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and various degrees of perivascular infiltration by predominantly CD14+/CD16+/CD141+/CCR7+/CD11c+monocytes and occasionally CD4+/CD8+T lymphocytes.Quantitative proteomic assays combined with bioinformatics analysis identified upregulated proteins predominantly involved in immune responses,autophagy and cellular metabolism in COVID-19 patient brains compared with control brains.Proteins involved in brain development,neuroprotection,and extracellular matrix proteins of the basement membrane were downregulated,potentially caused by the activation of transforming growth factorβreceptor and vascular endothelial growth factor signaling pathways.Thus,our results define histopathological and molecular profiles of COVID-19-associated monocytic encephalitis(CAME)and suggest potential therapeutic targets.Pei-Pei Zhang Zhi-Cheng He Xiao-Hong Yao Rui Tang Jie Ma Tao Luo Chuhong Zhu Tian-Ran Li Xindong Liu Dingyu Zhang Shuyang Zhang Yi-Fang Ping Ling Leng Xiu-Wu Bian 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2:3
20SRSF1 plays a critical role in invariant natural killer T cell development and function显示文摘Invariant natural killer T(iNKT)cells are highly conserved innate-like T lymphocytes that originate from CD4^(+)CD8^(+)double-positive(DP)thymocytes.Here,we report that serine/arginine splicing factor 1(SRSF1)intrinsically regulates iNKT cell development by directly targeting Myb and balancing the abundance of short and long isoforms.Conditional ablation of SRSF1 in DP cells led to a substantially diminished iNKT cell pool due to defects in proliferation,survival,and TCRαrearrangement.The transition from stage 0 to stage 1 of iNKT cells was substantially blocked,and the iNKT2 subset was notably diminished in SRSF1-deficient mice.SRSF1 deficiency resulted in aberrant expression of a series of regulators that are tightly correlated with iNKT cell development and iNKT2 differentiation,including Myb,PLZF,Gata3,ICOS,and CD5.In particular,we found that SRSF1 directly binds and regulates pre-mRNA alternative splicing of Myb and that the expression of the short isoform of Myb is substantially reduced in SRSF1-deficient DP and iNKT cells.Strikingly,ectopic expression of the Myb short isoform partially rectified the defects caused by ablation of SRSF1.Furthermore,we confirmed that the SRSF1-deficient mice exhibited resistance to acute liver injury uponα-GalCer and Con A induction.Our findings thus uncovered a previously unknown role of SRSF1 as an essential post-transcriptional regulator in iNKT cell development and functional differentiation,providing new clinical insights into iNKT-correlated disease.Jingjing Liu Menghao You Yingpeng Yao Ce Ji Zhao Wang Fang Wang Di Wang Zhihong Qi Guotao Yu Zhen Sun Wenhui Guo Juanjuan Liu Shumin Li Yipeng Jin Tianyan Zhao Hai-Hui Xue Yuanchao Xue Shuyang Yu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,11:3
