| 1 | Chromosome-Level Reference Genome and Population Genomic Analysis Provide Insights into the Evolution and Improvement of Domesticated Mulberry (Morns alba)显示文摘Mulberry(Morns spp.)is the sole plant consumed by the domesticated silkworm.However,the genome of domesticated mulberry has not yet been sequenced,and the ploidy level of this species remains unclear.Here,we report a high-quality,chromosome-level domesticated mulberry(Morus alba)genome.Analysis of genomic data and karyotype analyses confirmed that M.alba is a diploid with 28 chromosomes(2/7=2x=28).Population genomic analysis based on resequencing of 134 mulberry accessions classified domesticated mulberry into three geographical groups,namely,Taihu Basin of southeastern China(Hu mulberry),northern and southwestern China,and Japan.Hu mulberry had the lowest nucleotide diversity among these accessions and demonstrated obvious signatures of selection associated with environmental adaptation.Further phylogenetic analysis supports a previous proposal that multiple domesticated mulberry accessions previously classified as different species actually belong to one species.This study expands our understanding of genome evolution of the genus Morus and population structure of domesticated mulberry,which would facilitate mulberry breeding and improvement. | Feng Jiao Rongsong Luo Xuelei Dai Hui Liu Gang Yu Shuhua Han Xin Lu Chao Su Qi Chen Qinxia Song Caiting Meng Fanghong Li Hongmei Sun Rui Zhang Tian Hui Yonghua Qian Aichun Zhao Yu Jiang | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,7: | 10 |

| 3 | First-Principles Calculations of Electronic, Elastic and Thermal Properties of Magnesium Doped with Alloying Elements显示文摘First-principles calculations have been carried out to investigate the effects of alloying elements(Zn, Li, Y and Sc) on the electronic structure, elastic and thermal properties of Mg solid solution. The calculated cohesive energies show that Mg-Sc has the highest structural stability. The calculations of the densities of states(DOS) and electronic charge density difference indicate that Mg-Y(Sc) alloys have very strong covalent bonding due to a very strong Mg p-Y(Sc) d hybridization. The bulk modulus B, shear modulus G, Young's modulus E and Poisson ratio ν are derived using Voigt-Reuss-Hill(VRH) approximation. The results show that all the alloys can exhibit ductile properties at 2.77 at% R, and Mg-Zn(Li) alloys have the better ductility and plasticity. | 11 | Distributions of surficial sediments and its response to dynamic actions in the Xiamen Bay sea area, China显示文摘Sediment distribution is important for morphodynamic evolution and shoreline changes in coastal zones and estuaries. In the study, the data of 230 surface sediment samples collected from the Xiamen Bay sea area in September 2008 are used to investigate the spatial distribution and sediment transport pathway. The grain size distribution of surficial sediments in the Xiamen Bay area is shown distinctly in this study. In addition, the Grain Size Transport Analysis model is used for conveying trend analysis of the sediment in this area, particularly for determining the sediment movement trend. The results indicate that eight sediment types are present for samples, with clayey silt comprising the highest percentage in the study area at 65.22%. Moreover, in the different subareas, the characteristics of grain size parameters are obviously different owing to different sediment sources and hydrodynamic conditions.
