| 5 | Soya saponin improves egg-laying performance and immune function of laying hens显示文摘Background:Soya saponin(SS),an active compound in soybean meals,has been widely studied in the medical field.However,it was considered as an anti-nutritional factor in poultry diets.The objective of this experiment was to measure the effects of dietary SS using three dietary treatments on egg-laying performance and immune function of laying hens.Birds were fed a low soybean meal basal diet(CON),a low-SS diet(50 SS)containing 50mg/kg SS,or a high-SS diet(500 SS)containing 500 mg/kg SS for 10 weeks.At the end of the 5th and 10th week of the trial,samples were collected for analysis.Results:Results showed that with 50 mg/kg SS supplementation,the egg production rate,feed conversion ratio(FCR),and eggshell quality tended to be improved.Serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and Interleukin-4(IL-4)levels were also elevated as well as the peripheral blood LPS stimulation index,the proportion of B lymphocytes,and antibody titer of bovine serum albumin(BSA).We also found that mRNA levels of follicle stimulating hormone receptor(FSHR)in ovarian,nuclear transcription factor kappa B(NF-κB),Transforming growth factor(TGF-β)and interferonγ(IFN-γ)in spleen were up-regulated at the end of the trial.Additionally,dietary 50 mg/kg SS improved the ileal flora via up-regulating the relative abundance of Lactobacillus,Romboutsia and Lactobacillus delbrueckii.Although the immune related indicators were improved with 500 mg/kg SS supplemented,it seemed to have a negative influence on the laying-performance.Specifically,serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),and the ratio of IFN-γto IL-4 were increased in the 500 SS group at the end of the trial.The m RNA levels of gonadotropin releasing hormone 1(GnRH1)in Hypothalamus,the estrogen related receptor(ERR)in ovaries were downregulated as well as the egg production rate during the trial with 500 mg/kg SS supplemented.Conclusions:The egg production performance was improved by dietary supplemented with 50 mg/kg SS via increasing ovarian FSHR transcription level and serum estrogen level.A beneficial shift in intestinal microflora was recorded,and the immune function of laying hens was also improved with 50 mg/kg SS supplementation.Surprisingly,the long-term supplementation of 500 mg/kg SS exerted a negative impact on the laying performance and physiological functions of the liver of laying hens. | Peng Li Yizhu Zhao Shaojia Yan Bocheng Song Yongfa Liu Mingkun Gao Dazhi Tang Yuming Guo | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,3: | 5 |

| 7 | Investigation of surface morphology and ion activation of aluminium implanted 4H-SiC显示文摘Multiple-energy aluminium (Al+ ) implantation into 4H-SiC (0001) epilayer and activation anneal with a graphite encapsulation layer were investigated in this paper. Measurements showed that the implanted Al+ box doping profile was formed and a high ion activation ratio of 78% was achieved by 40 min annealing at 1600°C using a horizontal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactor. The step bunching effect associated with the high temperature post implantation activation annealing (PIA) process was dramatically suppressed by using the graphite encapsulation layer. And a flat and smooth surface with a small average surface roughness (RMS) value of around 1.16 nm was achieved for the implanted 4H-SiC after the PIA process. | 8 | Effects of age on immune function in broiler chickens显示文摘Background:There are many diseases in poultry,many of which are caused by poor immune function.It is not clear how cytokines and various immune cell functions change with age in modern broilers.The purpose of this study was to explore the patterns of development of the immunity of the broiler chickens in cage.Results:The results showed that there were 3 development patterns of immunity in the broiler chickens.The first pattern was Down-Up.Cytokines and some immune indicators first decreased and then increased,and the lowest levels of immunity basically occurred from d 6 to 13.The second pattern was Up-Down,and from d 30 to 34,the highest levels of non-specific cellular immunity components,such as the peripheral blood mononuclear macrophage ratio,specific cellular immunity components,such as the peripheral blood helper T(Th)cell ratio and T cell and B cell proliferation activity,and mucosal immunity components,such as the ileal CD4,TGF-β1 and IgA mRNA levels,were observed.The third pattern was Up-Up,and the levels of the non-specific cellular immunity components,such as the serum nitric oxide(NO),C3 and C4 levels,the specific cellular immunity components,such as the spleen index,peripheral blood IL-2,IFN-γ/IL-4,cytotoxic T(Tc)cell ratio,and splenic NF-κB mRNA levels,the humoral immunity components,such as the serum IgG level,the mucosal immunity components,such as the ileal MHC-II,CD3d,TCRβsubunit,TCRζsubunit,IFN-γ,pIgR mRNA and ileal mucosa sIgA levels,were continuing to increase from d 1 to 34.Conclusions:It could be concluded that the immune system and its function have not developed well in the broiler chickens d 6 to 13 and that the immune system does not mature until d 30 to 34 in the broiler chickens in cages.It is necessary to enhance the immune function of the broiler chickens through nutritional measures from d 1 to 30. | Bochen Song Dazhi Tang Shaojia Yan Hao Fan Guang Li Muhammad Suhaib Shahid Tahir Mahmood Yuming Guo | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,4: | 3 |

Both chemical conversion treatment and anodizing can increase the bonding strength. The anodizing treatment gives higher bonding strength and better corrosion resistance than chemical conversion treatment. | 10 | Identification of Five Sea Cucumber Species Through PCR-RFLP Analysis显示文摘Sea cucumbers are traditional marine food and Chinese medicine in Asia. The rapid expansion of sea cucumber market has resulted in various problems, such as commercial fraud and mislabeling. Conventionally, sea cucumber species could be distinguished by their morphological and anatomical characteristics; however, their identification becomes difficult when they are processed. The aim of this study was to develop a new convenient method of identifying and distinguishing sea cucumber species. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) analysis of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I gene(COI) was used to identifing five sea cucumber species(Apostichopus japonicus, Cucumaria frondosa, Thelenota ananas, Parastichopus californicus and Actinopyga lecanora). A 692 bp fragment of COI was searched for BamHI, KpnI, PstI, XbaI and Eco31 I restriction sites with DNAMAN 6.0, which were then used to PCR-RFLP analysis. These five sea cucumber species can be discriminated from mixed sea cucumbers. | 11 | 4H-SiC trench gate MOSFETs with field plate termination显示文摘Field plate(FP)-terminated 4H-SiC trench gate MOSFETs are demonstrated in this work.N+/P?/N?/N+multiple epitaxial layers were grown on 3-inch N+type 4H-SiC substrate by chemical vapor deposition(CVD),and then the 4H-SiC trench gate MOSFETs were fabricated based on the standard trench transistor fabrication.Current-voltage measurements in forward and reverse bias have been performed on different devices with and without FP protections.It is found that more than 60%of the devices protected with FP termination are able to block 850 V.The measurements also show that the devices have the small leakage currents 0.15 nA at 600 V and 2.5 nA at 800 V,respectively.The experimental results also were compared with the simulated results,which show good agreement with each other in the trend.The limited performance of the devices is mainly because of the damage induced on the trench sidewalls from the etching process and the quality of the SiO2 films.Therefore,the 4H-SiC trench gate MOSFETs are expected to be optimized by reducing the etching damage and growing high-quality SiO2 dielectric films. | SONG QingWen ZHANG YuMing ZHANG YiMen TANG XiaoYan | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,10: | 2 |

| 14 | Effects of proton radiation on field limiting ring edge terminations in 4H–SiC junction barrier Schottky diodes显示文摘In this study, the effects of high-energy proton radiation on the effectiveness of edge terminations using field limiting rings(FLRs) in 4 H–SiC junction barrier Schottky(JBS) diodes were examined in detail. The devices were irradiated using 5-MeV protons at fluences ranging from 5×10^12 cm^-2 to 5×10^14 cm^-2. Further, the reverse breakdown performances of the investigated devices were measured both before and after irradiation. Proton irradiation initially decreased the breakdown voltage(BV);subsequently, the BV was increased as the proton fluence increased. At a fluence of 5×10^13 cm^-2, the BV was reduced by approximately 18%, whereas it was reduced by approximately 5% at a higher proton fluence of 5×10^14 cm^-2. The related degradation mechanism that was associated with this phenomenon was also investigated using the numerical simulations of the current-voltage(I-V) and capacitance-voltage(C-V) characteristics of the device. The main contribution to the radiation-induced changes in BV originates from the variations of charge distribution at the SiO2/4 H–SiC interface and the reduction of the net carrier density in the drift region.
