1Chromosomal localization of the major ribosomal RNA genes in scallop Chlamys farreri显示文摘The chromosomes of Chlamys farreri were analyzed by means of silver staining and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) with 18S—28S rDNA probe. Probe was made by PCR amplification of a DNA fragment containing internal transcribed spacers ITS1 between 18S and 5.8S ribosomal RNA gene, ITS2 between 5.8S and 28S ribosomal RNA gene and 5.8S rRNA gene, and labeled by PCR incorporation of bio-16-dUTP. FISH signals were located on the short arm of subtelocentric chromosome 10. After silver-staining, nucleolus organizer regions (NORs) could be observed on the telomere of the short arm of chromosome 10. 3Linking microbial carbon pump capacity and efficacy to soil organic carbon storage and stability under heavy metal pollution显示文摘Heavy metal pollution can lead to a great loss of soil organic carbon(SOC).However,the microbial mechanisms that link heavy metal pollution to SOC remain poorly understood.Here,we investigated five apple-orchard soils at different distances from a Pb-Zn smelter.After assessing the heavy metal pollution level based on Grade Ⅱ of the national soil environmental quality standard(China),we found SOC stocks and microbial carbon pump(MCP)capacity(i.e.,microbial residue carbon)under medium and heavy pollution levels were significantly lower than those under safe,cordon and light pollution levels.The structural equation model showed causality in the SOC variations linked to pollution level through MCP capacity,which could contribute 77.8% of the variance in SOC storage.This verified MCP capacity can serve as a key parameter for evaluation of SOC storage under heavy metal pollution.Soil MCP efficacy,i.e.,the proportion of microbial residue carbon to SOC,also decreased under medium and heavy pollution.This suggested that,with a heavier pollution level,there was a higher rate of reduction of microbial residue carbon in soil than the rate of reduction of SOC.As MCP efficacy can be a useful assessment of SOC stability,the significantly positive relationship between MCP efficacy and clay content in correlation analysis implied that lower MCP efficacy was correlated with SOC stability under the heavier pollution level.Our study provides valuable insights to identify the mechanisms of microbially mediated C transformation processes that are influenced by heavy metal pollution in agroecosystems.Xiao Liu Xia Xu Tian Ma Shiwei Zhou Xiaoli Bi Hongbo He Xudong Zhang Weihuan Li 2023Soil Ecology Letters2023,5,2:1
4Assembly of plant communities in coastal wetlands--the role of saltcedar Tamarix chinensis during early succession显示文摘Aims The mechanisms of plant community assembly are hypothesized to vary at different stages of succession.Here,we explore the local assemblage structure of a herbaceous plant community at its early stage of succession in a supratidal wetland.specifically,we assess the role of Chinese saltcedar(Tamarix chinensis),the lone dominant shrub species,in shaping the spatial structure and species composi-tion in the local plant community,after landscape alteration.Methods We used the multivariate trend-surface analysis for analyzing the spatial structure of the community composition.a null model was also used to detect potential biotic interactions between species.statistical significance was derived from a permutation test by randomizing the presence-absence matrix and functional traits independently.sensitivity analysis by randomly selecting 50 subplots and repeating the null model tests was also done.Finally,rank correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between effect sizes and distance to nearest T.chinensis individuals.Important Findings The herbaceous plant community was highly structured and shaped by the presence of T.chinensis.at local scale,two functional traits,plant height and leaf area,were found to be significantly convergent.Dispersal,environmental stress and interspecific competition played a trivial effect on the local community assembly.The facilitating effect of T.chinensis on the pioneering herbaceous plants,through acting as a wind shelter,was put forward as the dominant community assembly process.Meng Gao Xinxiu Wang Cang Hui Huapeng Yi Chuanqi Zhang Xiaoqing Wu Xiaoli Bi Yong Wang Luxiang Xiao De Wang 2015Journal of Plant Ecology2015,8,5:1

8PPAR-γactivation promotes xenogenic bioroot regeneration by attenuating the xenograft induced-oxidative stress显示文摘Xenogenic organ transplantation has been considered the most promising strategy in providing possible substitutes with the physiological function of the failing organs as well as solving the problem of insufficient donor sources.However,the xenograft,suffered from immune rejection and ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI),causes massive reactive oxygen species(ROS)expression and the subsequent cell apoptosis,leading to the xenograft failure.Our previous study found a positive role of PPAR-γ in antiinflammation through its immunomodulation effects,which inspires us to apply PPAR-γ agonist rosiglitazone(RSG)to address survival issue of xenograft with the potential to eliminate the excessive ROS.In this study,xenogenic bioroot was constructed by wrapping the dental follicle cells(DFC)with porcine extracellular matrix(p ECM).The hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))-induced DFC was pretreated with RSG to observe its protection on the damaged biological function.Immunoflourescence staining and transmission electron microscope were used to detect the intracellular ROS level.SD rat orthotopic transplantation model and superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1)knockout mice subcutaneous transplantation model were applied to explore the regenerative outcome of the xenograft.It showed that RSG pretreatment significantly reduced the adverse effects of H2O2on DFC with decreased intracellular ROS expression and alleviated mitochondrial damage.In vivo results confirmed RSG administration substantially enhanced the host’s antioxidant capacity with reduced osteoclasts formation and increased periodontal ligament-like tissue regeneration efficiency,maximumly maintaining the xenograft function.We considered that RSG preconditioning could preserve the biological properties of the transplanted stem cells under oxidative stress(OS)microenvironment and promote organ regeneration by attenuating the inflammatory reaction and OS injury.Tingting Lan Fei Bi Yuchan Xu Xiaoli Yin Jie Chen Xue Han Weihua Guo 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1:1

11Analysis of Channeling-Path Phenomena in a Complex Fault-Block Reservoir with Low Recovery Factor and High Water-Cut Ratio显示文摘Current methods for the analysis of channeling-path phenomena in reservoirs cannot account for the influence of time and space on the actual seepage behavior.In the present study,this problem is addressed considering actual production data and dynamic characteristic parameters quantitatively determined in the near wellbore area by fitting the water-cut curve of the well.Starting from the dynamic relationship between injection and production data,the average permeability is determined and used to obtain a real-time quantitative characterization of the seepage behavior of the channeling-path in the far wellbore area.For the considered case study(Jidong oilfield),it is found that the seepage capacity of the channeling-path in the far wellbore area is far less(10 times smaller)than that of the channeling-path in the near wellbore area.The present study and the proposed model(combining near wellbore area and far wellbore area real-time data)have been implemented to support the definition of relevant adjustment measures to ultimately improve oil recovery.Qunyi Wang Xiaoli Ma Yongbin Bi Haiyan He Xiao Gu Tongjing Liu Lekun Zhao 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,2:0

13Predicting the effect of dissolved humic acid on sorption of benzotriazole to biochar显示文摘Dissolved organic matter plays a critical role in affecting sorption properties of biochar for organic contaminants.In this study,dissolved humic acid(DHA)as a representative of dissolved organic matter and oak sawdust-derived biochar as a sorbent were prepared and characterized.Roles of DHA in sorption of benzotriazole(BTA),an emerging organic contaminant,to biochar in different electrolyte solutions were investigated.The results revealed the dual roles of DHA in BTA sorption to biochar.On the one hand,DHA can compete for sites and/or block pores available for BTA to inhibit the adsorption of BTA to biochar.On the other hand,the sorbed DHA on biochar can serve as additional partitioning phase to promote the partition of BTA.The finding was in accordance with the site energy distribution analysis of BTA sorption that the site energy of the highest occurring frequency in the DHA-BTA system was lower than that in the DHA-free system(3.41-10.4 versus 13.1-20.1 kJ mol^(−1)).The variation in apparent BTA sorption to biochar affected by DHA was thus a combination of changes in both its partition and adsorption properties.A modified Dual-mode model including the aqueous concentration of DHA was proposed to predict the effect of DHA on BTA sorption to biochar in different electrolyte solutions,which showed good prediction performance with most BTA sorption coefficient(K_(d),L g^(−1))deviations within 0.1 log unit.Lin Wu Xiaoli Zhao Erping Bi 2022Biochar2022,4,1:0

15Phylogenetic analysis of Pectinidae (Bivalvia) based on the ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer region显示文摘The ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region is a useful genomic region for understanding evolutionary and genetic relationships. In the current study, the molecular phylogenetic analysis of Pectinidae (Mollusca: Bivalvia) was performed using the nucleotide sequences of the nuclear ITS region in nine species of this family. The sequences were obtained from the scallop species Argopecten irradians, Mizuhopecten yessoensis, Amusium pleuronectes and Mimachlamys nobilis, and compared with the published sequences of Aequipecten opercularis, Chlamys farreri, C. distorta, M. varia, Pecten maximus, and an outgroup species Perna viridis. The molecular phylogenetic tree was constructed by the neighbor-joining and maximum parsimony methods. Phylogenetic analysis based on ITS1, ITS2, or their combination always yielded trees of similar topology. The results support the morphological classifications of bivalve and are nearly consistent with classification of two subfamilies (Chlamydinae and Pectininae) formulated by Waller. However, A. irradians, together with A. opercularis made up of genera Amusium, evidences that they may belong to the subfamily Pectinidae. The data are incompatible with the conclusion of Waller who placed them in Chlamydinae by morphological characteristics.
