Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine preparations in patients with chronic heart failure:a prospective,single-blind,randomized,controlled,and multicenter clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) of Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) preparations.METHODS: This prospective, single-blind, randomized, controlled, and multicenter clinical trial began on September 17, 2008, and was completed on June 25, 2011. A total of 340 inpatients, aged 40-79 years, with exacerbating CHF from 10 hospitals were enrolled and randomly allocated within 24 h of admission. The trial included three intervention periods. During hospitalization, the control group received western medication for CHF and the treatment group received Danhong injection with Shenfu injection or Shenmai injection. After discharge, all patients were treated with Qiliqiangxin capsules and Buyiqiangxin tablets or a placebo for 6 months. After the 6-month intervention, both groups received only continuous western medication. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality. The efficacy assessments were as follows: B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP), Lee's HF score, the 6-minute walking test(6 MWT), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ). The safety assessments were as follows: blood and urine routine examination, hepatic and renal function, electrolytes in blood and adverse events.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a 30.99% reduction in all-cause mortality and an improved survival rate. The treatment group showed greater improvement in 6 MWT(P = 0.02) than the control group on discharge, after 12-month follow-up, there was a time-group interaction for MLHFQ(P = 0.03). Incidence rate of adverse events and other relevant safety indexes were not statistically significant between the two groups.CONCLUSION: Western medication plus TCM treatment can increase 6-minute walking distance(improve exercise tolerance) and quality of life with heart failure patients.Wang Xianliang Hou Yazhu Mao Jingyuan Zhao Yingqiang Niu Tianfu Yuan Ruyu Wang Yonggang Cui Jin-rong Shi Le Jia Xiuli Fan Ruihong Lin Qian Zhang Yan Li Zhijun Shang Hongcai Wang Baohe Wang Hongwu Wang Henghe Cui Xiaolei Soh Shanbin Ruan Jishou Zhang Boli 2017Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,6:15
Impact of multipath effects on theoretical accuracy of TOA-based indoor VLC positioning system显示文摘This paper discusses the time-of-arrival(TOA) based indoor visible light communication(VLC) positioning system in a non-line-of-sight environment. The propagation delay is assumed to be gamma distributed. The generalized Cramer–Rao lower bound for multipath propagation is derived as the theoretical accuracy limitation. The performance of the positioning system is affected by the shape parameter and the scale parameter of gamma distribution. The influences on positioning accuracy of multipath effects are analyzed through discussing the physical meaning of the gamma distribution parameters. It is concluded that the lower bound of positioning accuracy is attained when variance of the non-line-of-sight propagation-induced path lengths is zero. The simulation result provesthat the theoretical positioning accuracy is in the order of centimeters with the given scenario.Xuqing Sun Jingyuan Duan Yonggang Zou Ancun Shi 2015Photonics Research2015,3,6:9
The cellular labeling and pH-sensitive responsive-drug release of celastrol in cancer cells based on Cys-CdTe QDs显示文摘As one of the active compounds derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine,Celastrol(CSL)had cytotoxicity for human leukemia cancer cells K562 and its multidrug-resistant cell line K562/A02.Here,we introduced cysteamine-modified CdTe QDs as the labeling and drug carrier into CSL research and found that the self-assembly and conjugation of anticancer molecular CSL with the Cys-CdTe QDs could significantly increase the drug’s cytotoxicity for K562 cells.More important, these CSL-Cys-CdTe nanocomposites could overcome the multidrug resistance of K562/A02 cells and efficiently inhibit the cancer cell proliferation by realizing the pH-sensitive responsive release of CSL to cancer cells. The enhanced cytotoxicity was caused by the increase of the G2/M phase arrest for K562/A02 cells as well as for K562 cells.Cys-CdTe QDs can readily bind on the cell plasma membranes and be internalized into cancer cells to trace and detect human leukemia cancer cells in real time.In addition, these Cys-CdTe QDs can facilitate the inhibition of the multidrug resistance of K562/A02 cells and readily induce apoptosis. As a good photosensitizer for the therapy, labeling, and tracing of cancer cells, the combination of CSL with Cys-CdTe QDs can optimize the use of and a new potential therapy method for CSL and yield new tools to explore the mechanisms of active compounds from Traditional Chinese Medicine.LI JingYuan SHI LiXin SHAO YiXiang SELKE Matthias CHEN BaoAn JIANG Hui WANG XueMei 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,6:6
Important mesoscale phenomena in gas phase fluidized bed ethylene polymerization显示文摘Gas phase fluidized bed processes have been widely applied to polyethylene production. In these processes, the flow, mass transfer, and reaction rate on the microscale and macroscale are strongly coupled because of the multiphase and multiscale nature of the fluidization system.Understanding mesoscale phenomena is therefore essential to the quantitative translation of the knowledge obtained from the microscale to the macroscale. This paper reviews the development of ethylene polymerization gas phase processes while focussing on studies regarding mesoscale phenomena. These include experimental characterizations, mathematical modelling and control strategies.Trends and future developments in this field are also discussed.Jingyuan Sun Haotong Wang Sihang Tian Xiaoqiang Fan Qiang Shi Ying Liu Xiaobo Hu Yao Yang Jingdai Wang Yongrong Yang 2020Particuology2020,18,1:3
A comprehensive analysis of the Bencao(herbal)small RNA Atlas reveals novel RNA therapeutics for treating human diseases显示文摘Cross-kingdom herbal mi RNA was first reported in 2012.Using a modified herbal extraction protocol,we obtained 73,677,287sequences by RNA-seq from 245 traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),of which 20,758,257 were unique sequences. We constructed a Bencao(herbal)small RNA(s RNA)Atlas(http://gffzz4a3adbfa122d4a47huqwvpovcbucc6xkf.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn),annotated the sequences by sequence-based clustering, and created a nomenclature system for Bencao s RNAs.The profiles of 21,757 mi RNAs in the Atlas were highly consistent with those of plant mi RNAs in mi RBase.Using software tools, our results demonstrated that all human genes might be regulated by s RNAs from the Bencao s RNA Atlas, part of the predicted human target genes were experimentally validated, suggesting that Bencao s RNAs might be one of the main bioactive components of herbal medicines. We established roadmaps for oligonucleotide drugs development and optimization of TCM prescriptions. Moreover, the decoctosome,a lipo-nano particle consisting of 0.5%–2.5%of the decoction, demonstrated potent medical effects. We propose a Bencao(herbal)Index, including small-molecule compounds(SM),protein peptides(P),nucleic acid(N),non-nucleic and non-proteinogenic large-molecule compounds(LM)and elements from Mendeleev's periodic table(E),to quantitatively measure the medical effects of botanic medicine. The Bencao s RNA Atlas is a resource for developing gene-targeting oligonucleotide drugs and optimizing botanical medicine, and may provide potential remedies for the theory and practice of one medicine.Yinghao Cao Yexuan Lin Na Sun Xinyi Du Yixin Dong Song Mei Xingyu Deng Xiaobei Li Shaoting Guo Kegong Tang Jiaqi Liu Xiangyu Qiao Dandan Zhao Yuhao Qin Cong Zhang Tianyi Xin Xiaohu Shi Congzhao Zhou Tao Dong De-an Guo Benedikt MKessler Dong Xu Jingyuan Song Fengming Huang Xiaoyue Wang Chengyu Jiang 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,10:2
Radiation-hardened property of single-walled carbon nanotube film-based field-effect transistors under low-energy proton irradiation显示文摘Strong C-C bonds, nanoscale cross-section and low atomic number make single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)a potential candidate material for integrated circuits(ICs)applied in outer space. However, very little work combines the simulation calculations with the electrical measurements of SWCNT field-effect transistors(FETs),which limits further understanding on the mechanisms of radiation effects. Here,SWCNT film-based FETs were fabricated to explore the total ionizing dose(TID)and displacement damage effect on the electrical performance under low-energy proton irradiation with different fluences up to 1×1015 p/cm2.Large negative shift of the threshold voltage and obvious decrease of the on-state current verified the TID effect caused in the oxide layer. The stability of the subthreshold swing and the off-state current reveals that the displacement damage caused in the CNT layer is not serious, which proves that the CNT film is radiation-hardened.Specially,according to the simulation,we found the displacement damage caused by protons is different in the source/drain contact area and channel area, leading to varying degrees of change for the contact resistance and sheet resistance.Having analyzed the simulation results and electrical measurements,we explained the low-energy proton irradiation mechanism of the CNT FETs,which is essential for the construction of radiation-hardened CNT film-based ICs for aircrafts.Xiaorui Zhang Huiping Zhu Song’ang Peng Guodong Xiong Chaoyi Zhu Xinnan Huang Shurui Cao Junjun Zhang Yunpeng Yan Yao Yao Dayong Zhang Jingyuan Shi Lei Wang Bo Li Zhi Jin 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,11:2

Are microbes and metabolites influencing the parental consumption of nestlings’feces in gray-backed shrikes?显示文摘The behavioral video recordings of the gray-backed shrike Lanius tephronotus revealed that parent birds eat the feces produced by their nestlings.“Parental nutrition hypothesis”attributes the origin of this behavior to nutrition-recovery and cost-saving,respectively.However,the presence of usable nutrients in the nestlings’feces is unknown because of traditional technology. In this study,we analyzed all the metabolites and the variations in the diversity and content of microbes in the feces of gray-backed shrike nestlings. We aimed to report the changes in microbes and metabolites with the age of nestlings and point out that the parent birds that eat the feces may gain potential nutrition benefits. The results showed that the relative abundances of Proteobacteria,Firmicutes, and Bacteroidota, changed significantly when the nestlings were 6 days old.The relative abundances of 6 probiotics, which are involved in digestion, metabolism, and immunity-related physiological functions, decreased in the nestlings’feces gradually with age;therefore, these probiotics may be obtained by parent birds upon ingestion of the feces of young nestlings.Among the metabolites that were detected,20 were lipids and some had a role in anti-parasitic functions and wound healing;however, their relative contents decreased with age. These beneficial substances in the nestlings’feces may stimulate the parents to swallow the feces. Moreover, there were many aromatic metabolites in the newly hatched nestlings’feces, but the content of bitter metabolites increased as they grew up.Therefore, our results are in accordance with the nutritional hypothesis.Jie HU Jingyuan ZENG Yurou SHI Sen SONG 2022Current Zoology2022,68,6:0
Development of a vivo rabbit ligated intestinal Loop Model for HCMV infection显示文摘Background: Human Cytomegalovirus(HCMV) infections can be found throughout the body, especially in epithelial tissue. Animal model was established by inoculation of HCMV(strain AD-169) or coinoculation with Hepatitis E virus(HEV) into the ligated sacculus rotundus and vermiform appendix in living rabbits. The specimens were collected from animals sacrificed 1 and a half hours after infection. Results: The virus was found to be capable of reproducing in these specimens through RT-PCR and Western-blot.Severe inflammation damage was found in HCMV-infected tissue. The viral protein could be detected in high amounts in the mucosal epithelium and lamina propria by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescense. Moreover, there are strong positive signals in lymphocytes, macrophages, and lymphoid follicles. Quantitative statistics indicate that lymphocytes among epithlium cells increased significantly in viral infection groups. Conclusions: The results showed that HCMV or HEV + HCMV can efficiently infect in rabbits by vivo ligated intestine loop inoculation. The present study successfully developed an infective model in vivo rabbit ligated intestinal Loop for HCMV pathogenesis study. This rabbit model can be helpful for understanding modulation of the gut immune system with HCMV infection.Jin Tang Qiaoxing Wu Xinming Tang Ruihan Shi Jingxia Suo Guangping Huang Junqing An Jingyuan Wang Jinling Yang Wenzhuo Hao Ruiping She Xun Suo 2017Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2017,8,3:0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.Angel Abusleme Thomas Adam Shakeel Ahmad Sebastiano Aiello Muhammad Akram Nawab Ali Fengpeng An Guangpeng An Qi An Giuseppe Andronico Nikolay Anfimov Vito Antonelli Tatiana Antoshkina Burin 13Coordination of EZH2 and SOX2 specifies human neural fate decision显示文摘Polycomb repressive complexes(PRCs)are essential in mouse gastrulation and specify neural ectoderm in human embryonic stem cells(hESCs),but the underlying molecular basis remains unclear. Here in this study,by employing an array of different approaches, such as gene knock-out,RNA-seq,ChIP-seq,et al.,we uncover that EZH2,an important PRC factor, specifies the normal neural fate decision through repressing the competing meso/endoderm program.EZH2^(−/−)hESCs show an aberrant re-activation of meso/endoderm genes during neural induction. At the molecular level,EZH2 represses meso/endoderm genes while SOX2 activates the neural genes to coordinately specify the normal neural fate.Moreover,EZH2 also supports the proliferation of human neural progenitor cells(NPCs)through repressing the aberrant expression of meso/endoderm program during culture.Together, our findings uncover the coordination of epigenetic regulators such as EZH2 and lineage factors like SOX2 in normal neural fate decision.Yuan Zhao Tianyu Wang Yanqi Zhang Liang Shi Cong Zhang Jingyuan Zhang Jiao Yao Qianyu Chen Xiaofen Zhong Yanxing Wei Yongli Shan Guangjin Pan 2021Cell Regeneration2021,10,1:0

Low-thermal-budget Au-free ohmic contact to an ultrathin barrier AlGaN/GaN heterostructure utilizing a micro-patterned ohmic recess显示文摘A pre-ohmic micro-patterned recess process,is utilized to fabricate Ti/Al/Ti/TiN ohmic contact to an ultrathin-barrier(UTB)AlGaN/GaN heterostructure, featuring a significantly reduced ohmic contact resistivity of 0.56Ω·mm at an alloy temperature of 550℃.The sheet resistances increase with the temperature following a power law with the index of +2.58,while the specific contact resistivity decreases with the temperature. The contact mechanism can be well described by thermionic field emission(TFE).The extracted Schottky barrier height and electron concentration are 0.31 eV and 5.52×10^(18) cm^(−3),which suggests an intimate contact between ohmic metal and the UTB-AlGaN as well as GaN buffer.A good correlation between ohmic transfer length and the micro-pattern size is revealed, though in-depth investigation is needed.A preliminary CMOS-process-compatible metal-insulator-semiconductor high-mobility transistor(MIS-HEMT)was fabricated with the proposed Au-free ohmic contact technique.Wen Shi Sen Huang Xinhua Wang Qimeng Jiang Yixu Yao Lan Bi Yuchen Li Kexin Deng Jie Fan Haibo Yin Ke Wei Yankui Li Jingyuan Shi Haojie Jiang Junfeng Li Xinyu Liu 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,9:0
Detection of weak non-covalent cation-π interactions in NGAL by single-molecule force spectroscopy显示文摘Cation-π interaction is an electrostatic interaction between a cation and an electron-rich arene. It plays an essential role in many biological systems as a vital driving force for protein folding, stability, and receptor-ligand interaction/recognition.To date, the discovery of most cation-π interactions in proteins relies on the statistical analyses of available three-dimensional(3D)protein structures and corresponding computational calculations. However, their experimental verification and quantification remain sparse at the molecular level, mainly due to the limited methods to dynamically measure such a weak non-covalent interaction in proteins. Here,we use atomic force microscopy-based single-molecule force spectroscopy(AFM-SMFS)to measure the stability of protein neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(also known as NGAL,siderocalin, lipocalin 2)that can bind iron through the cation-π interactions between its three cationic residues and the iron-binding tri-catechols.Based on a site-specific cysteine engineering and anchoring method,we first characterized the stability and unfolding pathways of apo-NGAL.Then,the same NGAL but bound with the iron-catechol complexes through the cation-π interactions as a holo-form was characterized.AFM measurements demonstrated stronger stabilities and kinetics of the holo-NGAL from two pulling sites,F122 and F133.Here,NGAL is stretched from the designed cysteine close to the cationic residues for a maximum unfolding effect. Thus, our work demonstrates high-precision detection of the weak cation-π interaction in NGAL.Jingyuan Nie Yibing Deng Fang Tian Shengchao Shi Peng Zheng 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:0
High-Resolution Data on Human Behavior for Effective COVID-19 Policy-Making—Wuhan City,Hubei Province,China,January 1–February 29,2020显示文摘Introduction:High-resolution data is essential for understanding the complexity of the relationship between the spread of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),resident behavior, and interventions, which could be used to inform policy responses for future prevention and control. Methods:We obtained high-resolution human mobility data and epidemiological data at the community level. We propose a metapopulation Susceptible-Exposed-Presymptomatic-Infectious-Removal(SEPIR)compartment model to utilize the available data and explore the internal driving forces of COVID-19 transmission dynamics in the city of Wuhan.Additionally,we will assess the effectiveness of the interventions implemented in the smallest administrative units(subdistricts)during the lockdown. Results:In the Wuhan epidemic of March 2020,intra-subdistrict transmission caused 7.6 times more infections than inter-subdistrict transmission. After the city was closed, this ratio increased to 199 times. The main transmission path was dominated by population activity during peak evening hours.Discussion:Restricting the movement of people within cities is an essential measure for controlling the spread of COVID-19.However,it is difficult to contain intra-street transmission solely through citywide mobility restriction policies. This can only be accomplished by quarantining communities or buildings with confirmed cases, and conducting mass nucleic acid testing and enforcing strict isolation protocols for close contacts.Jingyuan Wang Honghao Shi Jiahao Ji Xin Lin Huaiyu Tian 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,4:0
Scattering exceptional point in the visible显示文摘Exceptional point (EP) is a special degeneracy of non-Hermitian systems. One-dimensional transmission systems operating at EPs are widely studied and applied to chiral conversion and sensing. Lately, two-dimensional systems at EPs have been exploited for their exotic scattering features, yet so far been limited to only the non-visible waveband. Here, we report a universal paradigm for achieving a high-efficiency EP in the visible by leveraging interlayer loss to accurately control the interplay between the lossy structure and scattering lightwaves. A bilayer framework is demonstrated to reflect back the incident light from the left side ( | r_(−1) | >0.999) and absorb the incident light from the right side ( | r_(+1) | < 10^(–4)). As a proof of concept, a bilayer metasurface is demonstrated to reflect and absorb the incident light with experimental efficiencies of 88% and 85%, respectively, at 532 nm. Our results open the way for a new class of nanoscale devices and power up new opportunities for EP physics.Tao He Zhanyi Zhang Jingyuan Zhu Yuzhi Shi Zhipeng Li Heng Wei Zeyong Wei Yong Li Zhanshan Wang Cheng-Wei Qiu Xinbin Cheng 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,10:0
Light-emitting devices based on atomically thin MoSe_(2)显示文摘Atomically thin MoSe_(2) layers,as a core member of the transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)family, benefit from their appealing properties, including tunable band gaps, high exciton binding energies, and giant oscillator strengths, thus pro-viding an intriguing platform for optoelectronic applications of light-emitting diodes(LEDs),field-effect transistors(FETs),sin-gle-photon emitters(SPEs),and coherent light sources(CLSs).Moreover, these MoSe_(2) layers can realize strong excitonic emis-sion in the near-infrared wavelengths, which can be combined with the silicon-based integration technologies and further encourage the development of the new generation technologies of on-chip optical interconnection, quantum computing, and quantum information processing.Herein,we overview the state-of-the-art applications of light-emitting devices based on two-dimensional MoSe_(2) layers.Firstly,we introduce recent developments in excitonic emission features from atomically thin MoSe_(2) and their dependences on typical physical fields.Next,we focus on the exciton-polaritons and plasmon-exciton polaritons in MoSe_(2) coupled to the diverse forms of optical microcavities. Then,we highlight the promising applications of LEDs,SPEs,and CLSs based on MoSe_(2) and their heterostructures. Finally,we summarize the challenges and opportunities for high-quality emis-sion of MoSe_(2) and high-performance light-emitting devices.Xinyu Zhang Xuewen Zhang Hanwei Hu Vanessa Li Zhang Weidong Xiao Guangchao Shi Jingyuan Qiao Nan Huang Ting Yu Jingzhi Shang 2024Journal of Semiconductors2024,45,4:0
