1Progress in additive manufacturing on new materials: A review显示文摘Recent efforts and advances in additive manufacturing(AM) on different types of new materials are presented and reviewed. Special attention is paid to the material design of cladding layers, the choice of feedstock materials, the metallurgical behavior and synthesis principle during the AM process, and the resulted microstructures and properties, as well as the relationship between these factors. Thereafter,the trend of development in the future is forecasted, including: Effects of the particles size and size distribution of powders; Approaches for producing fine microstructures; Opportunities for creating new materials by AM; Wide applications in reconditioning of damaged components; Challenges for deep understanding and applications of the AMed new materials. 2Control of Bird Feeding Behavior by Tannin1 through Modulating the Biosynthesis of Polyphenols and Fatty Acid-Derived Volatiles in Sorghum显示文摘Bird predation during seed maturation causes great loss to agricultural production.In this study,through GWAS analysis of a large-scale sorghum germplasm diversity panel,we identified that Tannin1,which encodes a WD40 protein functioning in the WD40/MYB/bHLH complex,controls bird feeding behavior in sorghum.Metabolic profiling analysis showed that a group of sorghum accessions preferred by birds contain mutated tan1-a/b alleles and accumulate significantly lower levels of anthocyanins and condensed tannin compounds.In contrast,a variety of aromatic and fatty acid-derived volatiles accumulate at significantly higher levels in these bird-preference accessions.We subsequently conducted both sparrow feeding and sparrow volatile attractant assays,which confirmed,respectively,the antifeedant and attractant functions of these differentially accumulated metabolites.In addition,the connection between the biosynthesis pathway of anthocyanin and proanthocyanidin and the pathway of fatty acid–derived volatile biosynthesis was demonstrated by discovering that Tannin1 complex modulates fatty acid biosynthesis by regulating the expression of SbGL2 in sorghum,thus affecting the accumulation of fatty acid-derived volatiles.Taken together,our study identified Tannin1 as the gene underlying the major locus controlling bird feeding behavior in sorghum,illustrating an example of the identification of an ecologically impactful molecular mechanism from field observation and providing significant insights into the chemistry of bird–plant ecological interactions.Peng Xie Jiayang Shi Sanyuan Tang Chengxuan Chen Aimal Khan Fengxia Zhang Ying Xiong Chao Li Wei He Guodong Wang Fumin Lei Yaorong Wu Qi Xie 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,10:8
3Sulfur-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)/g-C_(3)N_(4) isotype step-scheme heterojunction for photocatalytic H_(2) evolution显示文摘The rational fabrication of an efficient heterojunction is critical to the enhancement of photocatalytic hydrogen(H_(2)) evolution performance.Herein,a new-fashioned graphitic-carbon nitride(g-C_(3) N_(4)) based isotype step-scheme(S-scheme) heterojunction composed of sulfur-doped and sulfur-free active sites is developed by liquid sulfur-mediation of exfoliated g-C_(3) N_(4).Particularly,the liquid sulfur not only contributes to the full contact between sulfur species and exfoliated g-C_(3) N_(4),but also creates sulfur-doping and abundant pores,since self-gas foaming effect of sulfur vapor.Moreover,the S-doped and S-free active sites located in the structural unit of C_(3) N_(4) jointly construct a typical sulfur-doped g-C_(3) N_(4)/g-C_(3) N_(4) isotype step-scheme heterojunction,which endows highly efficient photocatalytic reaction process.Therefore,the optimal sample possesses remarkable photocatalytic H_(2) evolution activity(5548.1 μmol g^(-1) h^(-1)) and robust durability.Most importantly,the investigation will open up a new path for the exploration of other carbon-based isotype S-scheme heterojunctions.Jizhou Jiang Zhiguo Xiong Haitao Wang Guodong Liao Saishuai Bai Jing Zou Pingxiu Wu Peng Zhang Xin Li 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,23:5
4Exosomal PD-L1 induces osteogenic differentiation and promotes fracture healing by acting as an immunosuppressant显示文摘A moderate inflammatory response at the early stages of fracture healing is necessary for callus formation.Over-active and continuous inflammation,however,impairs fracture healing and leads to excessive tissue damage.Adequate fracture healing could be promoted through suppression of local over-active immune cells in the fracture site.In the present study,we achieved an enriched concentration of PD-L1 from exosomes(Exos)of a genetically engineered Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cell(HUVECs),and demonstrated that exosomes overexpressing PD-L1 specifically bind to PD-1 on the T cell surface,suppressing the activation of T cells.Furthermore,exosomal PD-L1 induced Mesenchymal Stem Cells(MSCs)towards osteogenic differentiation when pre-cultured with T cells.Moreover,embedding of Exos into an injectable hydrogel allowed Exos delivery to the surrounding microenvironment in a time-released manner.Additionally,exosomal PD-L1,embedded in a hydrogel,markedly promoted callus formation and fracture healing in a murine model at the early over-active inflammation phase.Importantly,our results suggested that activation of T cells in the peripheral lymphatic tissues was inhibited after local administration of PD-L1-enriched Exos to the fracture sites,while T cells in distant immune organs such as the spleen were not affected.In summary,this study provides the first example of using PD-L1-enriched Exos for bone fracture repair,and highlights the potential of Hydrogel@Exos systems for bone fracture therapy through immune inhibitory effects.Ze Lin Yuan Xiong Weilin Meng Yiqiang Hu Lili Chen Lang Chen Hang Xue Adriana CPanayi Wu Zhou Yun Sun Faqi Cao Guodong Liu Liangcong Hu Chenchen Yan Xudong Xie Chuanchuan Lin Kaiyong Cai Qian Feng Bobin Mi Guohui Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:4

6Radiation-hardened property of single-walled carbon nanotube film-based field-effect transistors under low-energy proton irradiation显示文摘Strong C-C bonds,nanoscale cross-section and low atomic number make single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)a potential candidate material for integrated circuits(ICs)applied in outer space.However,very little work combines the simulation calculations with the electrical measurements of SWCNT field-effect transistors(FETs),which limits further understanding on the mechanisms of radiation effects.Here,SWCNT film-based FETs were fabricated to explore the total ionizing dose(TID)and displacement damage effect on the electrical performance under low-energy proton irradiation with different fluences up to 1×1015 p/cm2.Large negative shift of the threshold voltage and obvious decrease of the on-state current verified the TID effect caused in the oxide layer.The stability of the subthreshold swing and the off-state current reveals that the displacement damage caused in the CNT layer is not serious,which proves that the CNT film is radiation-hardened.Specially,according to the simulation,we found the displacement damage caused by protons is different in the source/drain contact area and channel area,leading to varying degrees of change for the contact resistance and sheet resistance.Having analyzed the simulation results and electrical measurements,we explained the low-energy proton irradiation mechanism of the CNT FETs,which is essential for the construction of radiation-hardened CNT film-based ICs for aircrafts.Xiaorui Zhang Huiping Zhu Song’ang Peng Guodong Xiong Chaoyi Zhu Xinnan Huang Shurui Cao Junjun Zhang Yunpeng Yan Yao Yao Dayong Zhang Jingyuan Shi Lei Wang Bo Li Zhi Jin 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,11:2
7In-situ Construction of Sulfur-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)/defective g-C_(3)N_(4) Isotype Step-scheme Heterojunction for Boosting Photocatalytic H_(2) Evolution显示文摘The rational construction of a high-efficiency stepscheme heterojunctions is an effective strategy to accelerate the photocatalytic H_(2).Unfortunately,the variant energy-level matching between two different semiconductor confers limited the photocatalytic performance.Herein,a newfangled graphitic-carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))based isotype step-scheme heterojunction,which consists of sulfur-doped and defective active sites in one microstructural unit,is successfully developed by in-situ polymerizing N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)and urea,accompanied by sulfur(S)powder.Therein,the polymerization between the amino groups of DMF and the amide group of urea endows the formation of rich defects.The propulsive integration of S-dopants contributes to the excellent fluffiness and dispersibility of lamellar g-C_(3)N_(4).Moreover,the developed heterojunction exhibits a significantly enlarged surface area,thus leading to the more exposed catalytically active sites.Most importantly,the simultaneous introduction of S-doping and defects in the units of g-C_(3)N_(4) also results in a significant improvement in the separation,transfer and recombination efficiency of photo-excited electron-hole pairs.Therefore,the resulting isotype step-scheme heterojunction possesses a superior photocatalytic H_(2) evolution activity in comparison with pristine g-C_(3)N_(4).The newly afforded metal-free isotype step-scheme heterojunction in this work will supply a new insight into coupling strategies of heteroatoms doping and defect engineering for various photocatalytic systems.Jing Zou Guodong Liao Jizhou Jiang Zhiguo Xiong Saishuai Bai Haitao Wang Pingxiu Wu Peng Zhang Xin Li 2022Chinese Journal of Structural Chemistry2022,41,1:2

11Cryptochrome 1 Inhibits Shoot Branching by Repressing the Self-Activated Transciption Loop of PIF4 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Cryptochrome 1(CRY1)is an important light receptor essential for de-etiolation of Arabidopsis seedlings.However,its function in regulating plant architecture remains unclear.Here,we show that mutation in CRY1 resulted in increased branching of Arabidopsis plants.To investigate the underlying mechanism,we analyzed the expression profiles of branching-related genes and found that the mRNA levels of Phytochrome Interaction Factor 4(PIF4)and PIF5 are significantly increased in the cry1 mutant.Genetic analysis showed that the pif4 or pif4pif5 mutant is epistatic to the cry1 mutant,and overexpression of PIF4 conferred increased branching.Moreover,we demonstrated that PIF4 proteins physically associate with the G-box motif within the PIF4 promoter to form a self-activated transcriptional feedback loop,while CRY1 represses this process in response to blue light.Taken together,this study suggests that the CRY1–PIF4 module regulates gene expression via forming a regulatory loop and shoot branching in response to ambient light conditions.Huawei Zhai Lu Xiong Hongyu Li Xiangguang Lyu Guodong Yang Tao Zhao Jun Liu Bin Liu 2020Plant Communications2020,1,3:1

17Construction of regulatory network for alopecia areata progression and identification of immune monitoring genes based on multiple machine-learning algorithms显示文摘Objectives Alopecia areata(AA)is an autoimmune-related non-cicatricial alopecia,with complete alopecia(AT)or generalized alopecia(AU)as severe forms of AA.However,there are limitations in early identification of AA,and intervention of AA patients who may progress to severe AA will help to improve the incidence rate and prognosis of severe AA.Methods We obtained two AA-related datasets from the gene expression omnibus database,identified the differentially expressed genes(DEGs),and identified the module genes most related to severe AA through weighted gene co-expression network analysis.Functional enrichment analysis,construction of a protein–protein interaction network and competing endogenous RNA network,and immune cell infiltration analysis were performed to clarify the underlying biological mechanisms of severe AA.Subsequently,pivotal immune monitoring genes(IMGs)were screened through multiple machine-learning algorithms,and the diagnostic effectiveness of the pivotal IMGs was validated by receiver operating characteristic.Results A total of 150 severe AA-related DEGs were identified;the upregulated DEGs were mainly enriched in immune response,while the downregulated DEGs were mainly enriched in pathways related to hair cycle and skin development.Four IMGs(LGR5,SHISA2,HOXC13,and S100A3)with good diagnostic efficiency were obtained.As an important gene of hair follicle stem cells stemness,we verified in vivo that LGR5 downregulation may be an important link leading to severe AA.Conclusion Our findings provide a comprehensive understanding of the pathogenesis and underlying biological processes in patients with AA,and identification of four potential IMGs,which is helpful for the early diagnosis of severe AA.Jiachao Xiong Guodong Chen Zhixiao Liu Xuemei Wu Sha Xu Jun Xiong Shizhao Ji Minjuan Wu 2023Precision Clinical Medicine2023,6,2:1
