2Variations of shear wave splitting in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake region显示文摘Through the analysis of S-wave particle motion of local events in the shear wave window, the polariza-tion directions of the faster shear wave and the delay times between the faster and the slower shear waves were derived from seismic recordings at the stations near the fault zones. The shear wave split-ting results of seven stations in the area of Longmenshan fault zone reveal spatial variation of the po-larization directions of the fast shear wave. The directions at stations in the southeastern side of the Longmenshan fault zone (in the Sichuan Basin area) are in the NE direction, whereas the direction at station PWU (in the Plateau), which is in the northwestern side of the faults, is in the EW direction. Systematic changes of the time delays between two split shear waves were also observed. At station L5501 in the southern end of the aftershock zone, the delay times of the slower shear wave decrease systematically after the main shock. After the main shock, the delay times at station PWU were longer than those before the earthquake. Seismic shear wave splitting is caused mostly by stress-aligned microcracks in the rock below the stations. The results demonstrate changes of local stress field dur-ing the main-shock and the aftershocks. The stress in the southern part of Wenchuan seismogenic zone was released by the main-shock and the aftershocks. 3Epigenetic Modifications of mRNA and DNA in Plants显示文摘Advances in the detection and mapping of messenger RNA(mRNA)N^6-methyladenosine(m 6A)and 5-methylcytosine(m 5C),and DNA N^6-methyldeoxyadenosine(6mA)redefined our understanding of these modifications as additional tiers of epigenetic regulation.In plants,the most prevalent internal mRNA modifications,m^6A and m^5C,play crucial and dynamic roles in many processes,including embryo development,stem cell fate determination,trichome branching,leaf morphogenesis,floral transition,stress responses,fruit ripening,and root development.The newly identified and widespread epigenetic marker 6mA DNA methylation is associated with gene expression,plant development,and stress responses.Here,we review the latest research progress on mRNA and DNA epigenetic modifications,including the detection,dynamics,distribution,functions,regulatory proteins,and evolution,with a focus on m^6A,m^5C,and 6mA.We also provide some perspectives on future research of the newly identified and unknown epigenetic modifications of mRNA and DNA in plants.Zhe Liang Adeel Riaz Sadaruddin Chachar Yike Ding Hai Du Xiaofeng Gu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,1:12
4Tomographic imaging of P wave velocity structure beneath the region around Beijing显示文摘The three-dimension crustal and upper mantle structures in the region around Beijing were studied by seismic tomography. We used the P wave arrival times from local and teleseismic events. These events were recorded by 250 stations of the North China Seismic Array and 108 stations of the Beijing Telemetry Seismic Network. 118 869 P wave arrivals from 10 285 local events and 12 189 P wave arrivals from 107 teleseismic events were used in the inversion. We obtained the 3-D P wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle with the horizontal resolution of 0.3° in the studied region. The tomographic imaging shows the remarkably heterogeneous velocity variation. The velocity anomalies are in well agreement with the geological structure in the shallow crust. The different relationships between seismic activities and velocity anomalies may imply the different seismogenic structure and mechanism. Beneath the Moho under Taihangshan mountain and Yanshan mountain,we found the high velocity anomalies deep to 120 km and 200 km,respectively. The deep high velocity zone may be explained by the existence of the mountain root under Yanshan mountain. 5Allele-aware chromosome-level genome assembly of Artemisia annua reveals the correlation between ADS expansion and artemisinin yield显示文摘Artemisia annua is the major natural source of artemisinin,an anti-malarial medicine commonly used worldwide.Here,we present chromosome-level haploid maps for two A.annua strains with different artemisinin contents to explore the relationships between genomic organization and artemisinin production.High-fidelity sequencing,optical mapping,and chromatin conformation capture sequencing were used to assemble the heterogeneous and repetitive genome and resolve the haplotypes of A.annua.Approximately 5o,ooo genes were annotated for each haplotype genome,and a triplication event that occurred approximately 58.12million years ago was examined for the first time in this species.A total of 3,903,467-5,193,414 variants(SNPs,indels,and structural variants)were identified in the 1.5-Gb genome during pairwise comparison between haplotypes,consistent with the high heterozygosity of this species.Genomic analyses revealed a correlation between artemisinin concents and the copy number of amorpha-4,11-dienes ynthasegenes.This correlation was further confirmed by resequencing of 36A.annua samples with varied artemisinin contents.Circular consensus sequencing of transcripts facilitated the detection of paralog expression.Collectively,our study provides chromosome-level allele-aware genome assemblies for two A.annua strains and new insights into the biosynthesis of artemisinin and its regulation,which will contribute to conquering malaria worldwide.Baosheng Liao Xiaofeng Shen Li Xiang Shuai Guo Shiyu Chen Ying Meng Yu Liang Dandan Ding Junqi Bai Dong Zhang Tomasz Czechowski Yi Li Hui Yao Tingyu Mai Caroline Howard Chao Sun Haitao Liu Jiushi Liu Jin Pei Jihai Gao Jigang Wang Xiaohui Qiu Zhihai Huang Hongyi Li Ling Yuan Jianhe Wei lan Graham Jiang Xu Boli Zhang Shilin Chen 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,8:9
6Development of a new method for analyzing free aluminum ions(Al^(3+)) in seafood using HPLC-ICP-MS显示文摘This paper presents a novel method for simultaneous online examination of free aluminum ions(Al3+)in seafood,using solidphase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography online with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(SPEHPLC-ICP-MS),without post-column reaction.The optimum conditions for chromatographic separation of Al3+were achieved using an IonPac CS5A analytical column with an IonPac CG5A guard column.The mobile phase consisted of 0.040 mol/L LiOH,0.0060 mol/L 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid,and 0.090 mol/L CH3COOH(pH 4.7).The free Al3+ions in seafood were extracted by shaking with the mobile phase at 70°C for 2 h.SPE was conducted using an Oasis MCX,3cc/60 mg,30μm column,which was activated and equilibrated with 2 mL of methanol and 4 mL of deionized water before use.HCl(0.075 mol/L,2 mL)was used to wash inorganic Al from the SPE column.The standard recoveries of Al3+were all above 89%and the relative standard deviations were all below 5%.The proposed method was successfully used for the examination of Al3+in seafood samples,and the results were similar to those obtained using the static equilibrium method.SHANG DeRong ZHAO YanFang ZHAI YuXiu NING JinSong DING HaiYan SHENG XiaoFeng 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,35:8
73D Lamellar-Structured Graphene Aerogels for Thermal Interface Composites with High Through-Plane Thermal Conductivity and Fracture Toughness显示文摘Although thermally conductive graphene sheets are efficient in enhancing in-plane thermal conductivities of polymers,the resulting nanocomposites usually exhibit low through-plane thermal conductivities,limiting their application as thermal interface materials.Herein,lamellarstructured polyamic acid salt/graphene oxide(PAAS/GO)hybrid aerogels are constructed by bidirectional freezing of PAAS/GO suspension followed by lyophilization.Subsequently,PAAS monomers are polymerized to polyimide(PI),while GO is converted to thermally reduced graphene oxide(RGO)during thermal annealing at 300℃.Final graphitization at 2800℃ converts PI to graphitized carbon with the inductive effect of RGO,and simultaneously,RGO is thermally reduced and healed to high-quality graphene.Consequently,lamellar-structured graphene aerogels with superior through-plane thermal conduction capacity are fabricated for the first time,and its superior through-plane thermal conduction capacity results from its vertically aligned and closely stacked high-quality graphene lamellae.After vacuum-assisted impregnation with epoxy,the resultant epoxy composite with 2.30 vol% of graphene exhibits an outstanding through-plane thermal conductivity of as high as 20.0 W m^−1 K^−1,100 times of that of epoxy,with a record-high specific thermal conductivity enhancement of 4310%.Furthermore,the lamellar-structured graphene aerogel endows epoxy with a high fracture toughness,~1.71 times of that of epoxy.Pengfei Liu Xiaofeng Li Peng Min Xiyuan Chang Chao Shu Yun Ding Zhong-Zhen Yu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:7
8Suppression of multiple modal resonances of a cantilever beam by an impact damper显示文摘Impact dampers are usually used to suppress single mode resonance. The goal of this paper is to clarify the difference when the impact damper suppresses the resonances of different modes. A cantilever beam equipped with the impact damper is modeled. The elastic contact of the ball and the cantilever beam is described by using the Hertz contact model. The viscous damper between the ball and the cantilever beam is modeled to consume the vibrational energy of the cantilever beam. A piecewise ordinary differential-partial differential equation of the cantilever beam is established, including equations with and without the impact damper. The vibration responses of the cantilever beam with and without the impact damper are numerically calculated. The effects of the impact absorber parameters on the vibration reduction are examined. The results show that multiple resonance peaks of the cantilever beam can be effectively suppressed by the impact damper. Specifically, all resonance amplitudes can be reduced by a larger weight ball. Moreover, the impacting gap is very effective in suppressing the vibration of the cantilever beam. 9NS1-binding protein radiosensitizes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by transcriptionally suppressing c-Myc显示文摘Background:Cisplatin-based chemotherapy with concurrent radiotherapy is a standard treatment for advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).NS1-binding protein(NS1-BP),a member of the BTB-kelch protein fam-ily,has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of Hela cells by suppressing c-Myc.In the present study,we examined the potential function role of NS1-BP expression in ESCC,and particularly,the sensitivity of ESCC to radiotherapy.Methods:NS1-BP expression was examined using immunohistochemistry in two cohorts(n=98 for the training cohort;n=46 for independent validation cohort)of ESCC patients receiving cisplatin-based chemotherapy and con-current radiotherapy.Normal esophageal mucosal tissue blocks were used as a control.We also conducted a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments to examine the potential effects of over-expressing NS1-BP on ESCC cells,and particu-larly their sensitivity to ionizing irradiation.Results:In the training cohort,NS1-BP downregulation was observed in 59%(85/144)of the ESCC specimens.NS1-BP downregulation was associated with chemoradiotherapeutic resistance and shorter disease-specific survival(DSS)in both the training and validation cohorts.Over-expressing NS1-BP in cultured ESCC cells substantially increased the cellular response to irradiation both in vitro and in vivo.NS1-BP also significantly enhanced IR-induced apoptosis,and abrogated IR-induced G2/M cell-cycle arrest and ATM/Chk1 phosphorylation.Immunoprecipitation assays indicated that NS1-BP could interact with c-Myc promoter regions to inhibit its transcription.In ESCC tissues,c-Myc expression was inversely correlated with NS1-BP levels,and was associated with a shorter DSS.Conclusions:Our findings highlight the role and importance of NS1-BP in radiosensitivity of ESCC.Targeting the NS1-BP/c-Myc pathway may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for ESCC.Yuwen Wang Jingjing Cheng Dan Xie Xiaofeng Ding Hailing Hou Xi Chen Puchun Er Furong Zhang Lujun Zhao Zhiyong Yuan Qingsong Pang Ping Wang Dong Qian 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:4
10Correlations of PCBs, DIOXIN, and PBDE with TSH in Children's Blood in Areas of Computer E-waste Recycling显示文摘Objective To study correlations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), DIOXIN, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) with thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) in children, and assess the impact on children's health. Methods Three hundred and sixty nine children aged from 6 to 8, including 195 from Luqiao, the computer E‐waste recycling area, and 174 from Longyou, the control area, were selected for this investigation to elucidate the correlation of PCBs, DIOXIN, and PBDE with TSH in children's blood samples. The children had a physical examination and their blood levels of PCBs, DIOXIN, PBDE, and TSH were detected after sample collection. Results In the E‐waste recycling area, the contents of PCBs, PBDE, DIOXIN, and TSH in the blood samples of children were 484.00±84.86 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight, 664.28±262.38 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight, 26.00±19.58 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight and 1.88±0.42 μIU/mL (serum) respectively, while in the control area, the PCBs, PBDE, DIOXIN, and TSH contents were 255.38±95 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight, 375.81±262.43 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight, 39.64±31.86 ng·g ‐1 lipid weight, and 3.31±1.04 μIU/mL respectively. Conclusion The health status of children in the control area are better than that in the contaminated area. 12Conversion of hepatoma cells to hepatocyte-like cells by defined hepatocyte nuclear factors显示文摘Normal cells become cancer cells after a malignant transformation,but whether cancer cells can be reversed to normal status remains elusive.Here,we report that the combination of hepatocyte nuclear factor IA (HNFIA),HNF4A and forkhead box protein A3 (FOXA3)synergistically reprograms hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)cells to hepatocyte-like cells (reprogrammed hepatocytes, rHeps).Our results show that rHeps lose the malignant phenotypes of cancer cells and retrieve hepatocyte-specific characteristics including hepatocyte-like morphology;global expression pattern of genes and specific biomarkers of hepatocytes;and the unique hepatic functions of albumin (ALB)secretion,glycogen synthesis,low-density lipoprotein (LDL)uptake,urea production, cytochrome P450 enzymes induction and drug metabolism.Intratumoral injection of these three factors efficiently shrank patientderived tumor xenografts and reprogrammed HCC cells in vivo.Most importantly,transplantation of rHeps in the liver of fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase-deficient (Fah^-/-)mice led to the reconstruction of hepatic lobules and the restoration of hepatic function.Mechanistically,exogenous expression of HNF1A,HNF4A and FOXA3 in HCC cells initiated the endogenous expression of numerous hepatocyte nuclear factors,which promoted the conversion of HCC cells to hepatocyte-like cells.Collectively,our results indicate the successful conversion of hepatoma cells to hepatocyte-like cells,not only extending our current knowledge of cell reprogramming but also providing a route towards a novel therapeutic strategy for cancer.Zhuo Cheng Zhiying He Yongchao Cai Cheng Zhang Gongbo Fu Hengyu Li Wen Sun Changcheng Liu Xiuliang Cui Beifang Ning Daimin Xiang Tengfei Zhou Xiaofeng Li Weifen Xie Hongyang Wang Jin Ding 2019Cell Research2019,29,2:3
13Wave parameters retrieval for dual-polarization C-band synthetic aperture radar using a theoretical-based algorithm under cyclonic conditions显示文摘Theoretical-based ocean wave retrieval algorithms are applied by inverting a synthetic aperture radar(SAR)intensity spectrum into a wave spectrum, that has been developed based on a SAR wave mapping mechanism. In our previous studies, it was shown that the wave retrieval algorithm, named the parameterized first-guess spectrum method(PFSM), works for C-band and X-band SAR at low to moderate sea states. In this work, we investigate the performance of the PFSM algorithm when it is applied for dual-polarization c-band sentinel-1(S-1) SAR acquired in extra wide-swath(EW) and interferometric wide-swath(IW) mode under cyclonic conditions.Strong winds are retrieved from six vertical-horizontal(VH) polarization S-1 SAR images using the c-band crosspolarization coupled-parameters ocean(C-3 PO) model and then wave parameters are obtained from the image at the vertical-vertical(VV) polarization channel. significant wave height(SWH) and mean wave period(MWP) are compared with simulations from the WAVEWATCH-III(WW3) model. The validation shows a 0.69 m root mean square error(RMSE) of SWH with a –0.01 m bias and a 0.62 s RMSE of MWP with a –0.17 s bias. Although the PFSM algorithm relies on a good quality SAR spectrum, this study confirms the applicability for wave retrieval from an S-1 SAR image. 18Modeling,analysis,and simulation of X-shape quasi-zero-stiffness-roller vibration isolators显示文摘Existing quasi-zero stiffness(QZS)isolators are reviewed.In terms of their advantages,a novel X-shape QZS isolator combined with the cam-roller-spring mechanism(CRSM)is proposed.Different from the existing X-shape isolators,oblique springs are used to enhance the negative stiffness of the system.Meanwhile,the CRSM is used to eliminate the gravity of the loading mass,while the X-shape structure leaves its static position.The existing QZS isolators are demonstrated and classified according to their nonlinearity mechanisms and classical shapes.It is shown that the oblique spring can realize negative stiffness based on the simplest mechanism.The X-shape has a strong capacity of loading mass,while the CRSM can achieve a designed restoring force at any position.The proposed isolator combines all these advantages together.Based on the harmonic balance method(HBM)and the simulation,the displacement transmissibilities of the proposed isolator,the X-shape isolators just with oblique springs,and the X-shape isolators in the traditional form are studied.The results show that the proposed isolator has the lowest beginning isolation frequency and the smallest maximum displacement transmissibility.However,it still has some disadvantages similar to the existing QZS isolators.This means that its parameters should be designed carefully so as to avoid becoming a bistable system,in which there are two potential wells in the potential energy curve and thus the isolation performance will be worsened.Xiaoye MAO Mengmeng YIN Hu DING Xiaofeng GENG Yongjun SHEN Liqun CHEN 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,7:2
19Correlation of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome with metabolic syndrome in snorers显示文摘Though obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) and metabolic syndrome(MS) are correlated;the contributing factors for the occurrence of MS in Chinese snorers remain largely undefined.We aimed to investigate the associated pathogenesis of coexistence of OSAHS and MS in Chinese snorers.A total of 144 Chinese habitual snorers were divided into 3 groups,the control group(simple snorers)(n = 36),the mild OSAHS group(n= 52)and the moderate-to-severe OSAHS group(n = 56).The incidence of MS in the moderate-to-severe OSAHS group(26.8%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(8.3%),the mild OSAHS group(11.1%) and all the OSAHS patients(19.45%)(all P < 0.05).Homeostatic model assessment(HOMA) index and proinsulin(PI) were negatively correlated with nocturnal meanSpO_2 and miniSpO_2.Meanwhile,nocturnal SpO_2 were negatively correlated with body mass index,waist and neck circumferences and diastolic blood pressure,but positively correlated with total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.The study indicated that in Chinese snorers,moderate-to-severe OSAHS was closely associated with MS via nocturnal hypoxemia.Qun Zhang Xiaofeng Zhang Mengmeng Zhao Hanpeng Huang Ning Ding Xilong Zhang Hong Wang 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,3:2
