| 1 | A quantification model of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes in children with idiopathic precocious puberty and early puberty显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To establish a quantification model of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndromes by sampling patients undergoing idiopathic precocious puberty(IPP)and early puberty.METHODS:A questionnaire for classifying and quantifying TCM syndromes was designed and administered.All the results were analyzed;the relationship between 3 types of syndrome and 47symptoms were summated.Meanwhile,the frequency distribution of each symptom or sign was aggregated.Fuzzy mathematics was used to develop a quantification model ofTCM syndromes.RESULTS:We found that precocious puberty had 3types of syndrome,including hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficiency(Syndrome I),depressed liver Qi transforming into fire(Syndrome II),and end retention of damp heat(Syndrome III).In the IPP group,Syndrome I was the most common principal syndrome(100%).Forty-six patients(43.81%)werediagnosed with Syndrome I accompanied by Syndrome II and 11(10.48%)were diagnosed with Syndrome I accompanied by Syndrome III.In the early puberty group,Syndrome I was also the main syndrome(98.39%).The degrees of most symptoms were mild to moderate.Reddened tongue was the most common tongue manifestation(62.86%prevalence)in the IPP group.The most common pulse manifestations were slippery pulse,thread pulse,and taut pulse.The Asymptotic Normalization Coefficient(ANC)method was used to quantify the TCM syndromes in 167 cases.Diagnostic accuracy rate reached 91%,comparable to expert diagnosis.CONCLUSION:We find that there are 3 types of syndrome in the IPP group and in the early puberty group.Syndrome I(hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficiency)is the main syndrome in the two groups.ANC may be an appropriate for quantification model ofTCM syndromes. | Yanyan Lin Yuanyuan Xue Jian Yu Yonghong Wang Wen Sun Yanyan Sun Yumin Shi Yiqun Zhang Hong Hu | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5: | 9 |
| 2 | An Adaptive Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm for Unmanned Surface Vehicle in Complicated Marine Environments显示文摘Unmanned surface vehicles(USVs) are important autonomous marine robots that have been studied and gradually applied into practice. However, the autonomous navigation of USVs, especially the issue of obstacle avoidance in complicated marine environment, is still a fundamental problem. After studying the characteristics of the complicated marine environment, we propose a novel adaptive obstacle avoidance algorithm for USVs,based on the Sarsa on-policy reinforcement learning algorithm.The proposed algorithm is composed of local avoidance module and adaptive learning module, which are organized by the “divide and conquer” strategy-based architecture. The course angle compensation strategy is proposed to offset the disturbances from sea wind and currents. In the design of payoff value function of the learning strategy, the course deviation angle and its tendency are introduced into action rewards and penalty policies. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparative experiments of simulations and sea trials in three sea-state marine environments. | 3 | Regulatory effects of stage-treatment with established Chinese herbal formulas on inflammatory mediators in pediatric asthma显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the regulatory effects of established Chinese herbal formulas on inflammatory mediators released during asthma attacks, and to elucidate the molecular mechanism of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of asthma. METHODS: Seventy-five asthmatic children were randomly divided into a Chinese medication group(45 cases) and a Western medication control group(30 cases). Patients in the Chinese medication group were treated with a series of established Chinese herbal formulas, whereas the Western medication control group received a leukotriene receptor antagonist and a bronchial relaxant. Real-time PCR was used to determine the mRNA expression levels of interleukin(IL)-4, cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1(CysLTR1), and interferon(IFN)-γ in peripheral blood mononuclear cells before and after treatment. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure the peripheral blood levels of IL-4, leukotriene(LTE)-4, and INF-γ before and after treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, the mRNA expression levels of IL-4 and CysLTR1 were down-regulated(P< 0.01) and the mRNA expression levels of IFN-γ were up-regulated(P<0.05) in the Chinese medication and Western medication groups; no significant difference was found between the two groups. In the Chinese medication group, IL-4 blood level was decreased and it was significantly different from that in the Western medication group(P<0.05); there was also a significant increase in IFN-γ blood levels after treatment with Chinese medication(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in LTE-4 blood levels between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05). | 5 | Prescriptions from Traditional Chinese Medicine compared with salbutamol and montelukast for the treatment of pediatric asthma: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of a series of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) empirical prescriptions with salbutamol and montelukast(SM) in children with asthma.METHODS: A total of 182 children with asthma were randomized into the TCM group(n = 97) or SM group(n = 85). Patients in the TCM group were treated with a series of TCM prescriptions, whereas those in the SM group received salbutamol and montelukast; both groups received their respective treatment for 12 weeks. Asthma control, changes in scores of TCM symptom patterns, and asthma symptom control(SC) scores after treatment were compared between the two groups.RESULTS: A higher percentage of patients in the TCM group had asthma control compared withthose in the SM group(91.67% and 76.83%, respectively, P = 0.006). Scores for abnormal feces(P <0.001), hyperhidrosis(P < 0.001), and tongue appearance(P = 0.001) in the TCM group were significantly better than those in the SM group. | 6 | Whole-genome resequencing of Osmanthus fragrans provides insights into flower color evolution显示文摘Osmanthus fragrans is a well-known ornamental plant that has been domesticated in China for 2500 years.More than 160 cultivars have been found during this long period of domestication,and they have subsequently been divided into four cultivar groups,including the Yingui,Jingui,Dangui,and Sijigui groups.These groups provide a set of materials to study genetic evolution and variability.Here,we constructed a reference genome of O.fragrans‘Liuyejingui’in the Jingui group and investigated its floral color traits and domestication history by resequencing a total of 122 samples,including 119 O.fragrans accessions and three other Osmanthus species,at an average sequencing depth of 15×.The population structure analysis showed that these 119 accessions formed an apparent regional cluster.The results of linkage disequilibrium(LD)decay analysis suggested that varieties with orange/red flower color in the Dangui group had undergone more artificial directional selection;these varieties had the highest LD values among the four groups,followed by the Sijigui,Jingui,and Yingui groups.Through a genome-wide association study,we further identified significant quantitative trait loci and genomic regions containing several genes,such as ethylene-responsive transcription factor 2 and Arabidopsis pseudoresponse regulator 2,that are positively associated with petal color.Moreover,we found a frameshift mutation with a 34-bp deletion in the first coding region of the carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 4 gene.This frameshift mutation existed in at least one site on both alleles in all varieties of the Dangui group.The results from this study shed light on the genetic basis of domestication in woody plants,such as O.fragrans. | Hongguo Chen Xiangling Zeng Jie Yang Xuan Cai Yumin Shi Riru Zheng Zhenqi Wang Junyi Liu Xinxin Yi Siwei Xiao Qiang Fu Jingjing Zou Caiyun Wang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 5 |
| 7 | Injectable dual glucose-responsive hydrogel-micelle composite for mimicking physiological basal and prandial insulin delivery显示文摘For type 1 and advanced type 2 diabetic patients, insulin replacement therapy with simulating on-demand prandial and basal insulin secretion is the best option for optimal glycemic control. However, there is no insulin delivery system yet could mimic both controlled basal insulin release and rapid prandial insulin release in response to real-time blood glucose changes. Here we reported an artificial insulin delivery system, mimicking physiological basal and prandial insulin secretion, to achieve real-time glycemic control and reduce risk of hypoglycemia. A phenylboronic acid(PBA)/galactosyl-based glucose-responsive insulin delivery system was prepared with insulin-loaded micelles embedded in hydrogel matrix. At the hyperglycemic state, both the hydrogel and micelles could swell and achieve rapid glucose-responsive release of insulin, mimicking prandial insulin secretion.When the glucose level returned to the normal state, only the micelles partially responded to glucose and still released insulin gradually. The hydrogel with increased crosslinking density could slow down the diffusion speed of insulin inside, resulting in controlled release of insulin and simulating physiological basal insulin secretion. This hydrogel-micelle composite insulin delivery system could quickly reduce the blood glucose level in a mouse model of type 1 diabetes, and maintain normal blood glucose level without hypoglycemia for about 24 h. | 8 | Evolution and Domestication Footprints Uncovered from the Genomes of Coix显示文摘Coix lacryma-jobi,a plant species closely related to Zea and Sorghum,is an important food and medicinal crop in Asia.However,no reference genome of this species has been reported,and its exact phylogeny within the Andropogoneae remains unresolved.Here,we generated a high-quality genome assembly of coix comprising~1.73 Gb with 44485 predicted protein-coding genes.We found coix to be a typical diploid plant with an overall 1-to-1 syntenic relationship with the Sorghum genome,despite its drastic genome expansion(~2.3-fold)due mainly to the activity of transposable elements.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that coix diverged with sorghum~10.41 million years ago,which was~1.49 million years later than the divergence between sorghum and maize.Resequencing of 27 additional coix accessions revealed that they could be unambiguously separated into wild relatives and cultivars,and suggested that coix experienced a strong genetic bottleneck,resulting in the loss of about half of the genetic diversity during domestication,even though many traits have remained undomesticated.Our data not only provide novel comparative genomic and evolutionary insights into the Andropogoneae lineage,but also an important resource that will greatly benefit molecular breeding of this important crop. | Hongbing Liu Junpeng Shi Zexi Cai Yumin Huang Menglu Lv Huilong Du Qiang Gao Yi Zuo Zhaobin Dong Wei Huang Rui Qin Chengzhi Liang Jinsheng Lai Weiwei Jin | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,2: | 4 |

| 18 | Bats as the main prey of wintering long-eared owl(Asio otus)in Beijing:Integrating biodiversity protection and urban management显示文摘The loss of biodiversity from urbanized areas is a major environmental problem challenging policy-makers throughout the world.Solutions to this problem are urgently required in China.We carried out a case study of wintering long-eared owls(Asio otus)and their main prey to illustrate the negative effects of urbanization combined with ineffective conservation of biodiversity in Beijing.Field monitoring of owl numbers at two roosting sites from 2004 to 2012 showed that the owl population had fallen rapidly in metropolitan Beijing.Analysis of pellet contents identified only seven individuals of two species of shrew.The majority of mammalian prey comprised four bat and seven rodent species,making up 29.3%and 29.5%of the prey items,respectively.Prey composition varied significantly among years at the two sample sites.At the urban site the consumption of bats and rodents declined gradually over time,while predation on birds increased.In contrast,at the suburban site the prey composition showed an overall decrease in the number of bats,a sharp increase and a subsequent decrease in bird prey,and the number of rodent prey fell to a low point.Rapid development of real estate and inadequate greenfield management in city parks resulted in negative effects on the bird and small mammal habitat of urban areas in Beijing.We suggest that measures to conserve biodiversity should be integrated into future urban planning to maintain China’s rich biodiversity while also achieving sustainable economic development. | Long TIAN Xuwei ZHOU Yang SHI Yumin GUO Weidong BAO | 2015 | Integrative Zoology2015,10,2: | 1 |

However, CFP cannot be used in a system with many users like in a group environment system. A transmutation of CFP named T-CFP is proposed in this paper. The precondition of T-CFP is the system’s user trusts the system center and center’s cheating is meaningless at the same time. The significant difference between CFP and T-CFP is that CFP supports only two users while T-CFP can support many users to exchange special information.
