| 4 | Hydrocarbon migration and accumulation along the fault intersection zone-a case study on the reef-flat systems of the No.1 slope break zone in the Tazhong area, Tarim Basin显示文摘Understanding hydrocarbon migration and accumulation mechanisms is one of the key scientif ic problems that should be solved for effective hydrocarbon exploration in the superimposed basins developed in northwest China. The northwest striking No.1 slope break zone, which is a representative of superimposed basins in the Tarim Basin, can be divided into five parts due to the intersection of the northeast strike-slip faults. Controlled by the tectonic framework, the types and properties of reservoirs and the hydrocarbon compositions can also be divided into five parts from east to west. Anomalies of all the parameters were found on the fault intersection zone and weakened up-dip along the structural ridge away from it. Thus, it can be inferred that the intersection zone is the hydrocarbon charging position. This new conclusion differs greatly from the traditional viewpoint, which believes that the hydrocarbon migrates and accumulates along the whole plane of the No.1 slope break zone. The viewpoint is further supported by the evidence from the theory of main pathway systems, obvious improvement of the reservoir quality (2-3 orders of magnitude at the intersection zone) and the formation mechanisms of the fault intersection zone. Differential hydrocarbon migration and entrapment exists in and around the strike- slip faults. This is controlled by the internal structure of faults. It is concluded that the more complicated the fault structure is, the more significant the effects will be. If there is a deformation band, it will hinder the cross fault migration due to the common feature of two to four orders of magnitude reduction in permeability. Otherwise, hydrocarbons tend to accumulate in the up-dip structure under the control of buoyancy. | 6 | Use of suppression subtractive hybridization strategy for cloning and identifying specifically expressed genes of renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Using suppression subtractive hybridization, a renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cDNA subtractive library which only contains differently expressed cDNAs between human RCC and normal kidney has been constructed. 200 clones were picked out randomly to perform enzyme digest analysis, a part of them underwent sequence analysis and Northern blot to identify RCC specially expressed genes. Results showed that 190 clones contain 50-400 bp inserts respectively. Sequence analysis was performed in 10 clones. All the 10 sequences were unknown before and derived from 6 unique novel genes among which the cDNA insert RCC18 has five copies. Northern blot analysis showed that RCC18 cDNA expressed highly in RCC, but there was no signal detected in normal kidney, and the full length of RCC18 was about 2.5 kb. | 7 | Slip synergism of planar strike-slip fault during meta-instable state:Experimental research based on digital image correlation analysis显示文摘The meta-instable state(MIS)is the final stage before fault instability during stick-slip movement.Thus,identification of MIS is of great significance for assessing earthquake hazard in fault zones.A rock sample with a precut planar fault was loaded on a horizontally biaxial servo-controlled press machine to create stick-slip conditions.Digital images of the sample surface were taken by a high-speed camera at a rate of 1000 frames per second during the stick-slip motion and processed using a 2D digital image correlation method to obtain the displacement field.We define a synergism coefficient that describes the relative dispersion of the accumulative fault slip.The results reveal that:(1)a local pre-slip area spreads very slowly along the fault before the MIS develops.It extends at a higher but still slow speed during meta-instable state I(MIS-I).During the final^1.5%of MIS,in meta-instable state II(MIS-II),the local pre-slip area first extends at a speed of^0.9 m/s,and then expands out of the observed image area at a very high speed.These results indicate that the local pre-slip area transforms from a state of quasi-static extension in MIS-I to quasi-dynamic extension in MIS-II.(2)The synergism coefficient of the fault slip decreases to half of its original value in MIS-I and to a quarter of its original value in MIS-II.This continuous decrease of synergism coefficient indicates that the strengthening of fault slip synergism is a characteristic of MIS.(3)Furthermore,the unstable sliding stage includes three sliding processes:initial-,fast-,and adjusted-sliding.There are two pauses between the three sliding processes. | ZHUO YanQun GUO YanShuang JI YunTao MA Jin | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,11: | 8 |

Understanding the release characteristic of Na during the combustion is essential to viable utilization of this coal. In this work, coal samples were treated with a sequence of solvents: water(H2O), ammonium acetate(NH4Ac), hydrochloric acid(HCl), and the release characteristics of various classes of Na during coal combustion were investigated using the technique of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. The relative contribution of various Na classes to the Na release during each combustion stage was found to be similar, in the order of H2O-soluble Na [ NH4 Acsoluble Na [ HCl-soluble Na [ insoluble Na. Sodium released during the devolatilization stage can be attributed to each of the sodium classes. After the devolatilization stage,H2O-soluble Na and NH4Ac-soluble Na dominated the Na release during both char and ash stages. | 16 | Adjuvant hormone therapy after radical prostatectomy in highrisk localized and locally advanced prostate cancer: First multicenter, observational study in China显示文摘Objective: Potential of combined androgen blockade(CAB) has not been explored extensively in Chinese males with prostate cancer(PCa). Therefore, this study evaluated the 2-year prostate-specific antigen(PSA) recurrence rate and quality of life(Qo L) in patients with high-risk localized and locally advanced PCa receiving adjuvant hormone therapy(HT) after radical prostatectomy(RP).Methods: This prospective, multicenter, observational study conducted in 18 centers across China enrolled patients with high-risk factor(preoperative PSA>20 ng/m L or Gleason score >7) or locally advanced PCa. Different adjuvant HT were administered after RP according to investigator’s decision in routine clinical practice.Relationship of baseline and postoperative characteristics was assessed with recurrence rate. PSA recurrence rate and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Prostate(FACT-P) Qo L scores were recorded at 12 months and 24 months. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to construct the PSA recurrence rate during follow-up.Results: A total of 189 patients(mean age: 66.9±6.5 years) were recruited, among which 112(59.3%) patients showed serum PSA>20 ng/m L preoperatively. The highest postoperative pathological advancement noticed was from clinical T2(c T2) to pathological T3(p T3)(43.9%) stage. The majority of the patients(66.1%) received CAB as adjuvant HT, for a median duration of 20.0 months. The least recurrence(15.2%) was noticed in patients treated with CAB, followed by those treated with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist(LHRHa)(16.1%), and antiandrogen(19.0%), with non-significant difference noted among the groups. None of the baseline or postoperative characteristics was related with PSA recurrence in our study. The 24-month FACT-P Qo L score of119 patients treated for >12 months showed significant improvement above baseline compared with those treated for ≤12 months.Conclusions: Adjuvant CAB therapy after RP showed reduction trend in 2-year PSA recurrence rate in highrisk Chinese patients with localized and locally advanced PCa, compared with adjuvant anti-androgens(AA) or LHRHa therapy. | 20 | A REACTIVE DYNAMIC CONTINUUM USER EQUILIBRIUM MODEL FOR BI-DIRECTIONAL PEDESTRIAN FLOWS显示文摘In this paper, a reactive dynamic user equilibrium model is extended to simu-late two groups of pedestrians traveling on crossing paths in a continuous walking facility. Each group makes path choices to minimize the travel cost to its destination in a reactive manner based on instantaneous information. The model consists of a conservation law equation coupled with an Eikonal-type equation for each group. The velocity-density relationship of pedestrian movement is obtained via an experimental method. The model is solved using a finite volume method for the conservation law equation and a fast-marching method for the Eikonal-type equation on unstructured grids. The numerical results verify the rationality of the model and the validity of the numerical method.
