12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2A study on the Dushiling tungsten-copper deposit in the Miao'ershan-Yuechengling area, Northern Guangxi, China:Implications for variations in the mineralization of multi-aged composite granite plutons显示文摘The polymetallic Dushiling W-Cu deposit is a large, altered, skarn-type deposit, located in the northeastern part of the Miao'ershan-Yuechengling pluton, China. Two types of granite have been identified in the deposit: a medium-grained porphyritic biotite granite, and a medium- to fine-grained biotite granite. Both are spatially and temporally related to ore bodies, suggesting they may be the source of mineralization in the deposit. A medium- to fine-grained porphyritic biotite granite is exposed at the surface in the region of mineralization. U-Pb dating of zircons yielded magmatic ages of 423 Ma for the medium-grained porphyritic biotite granite and 421 Ma for the medium- to fine-grained porphyritic biotite granite, while a younger age(217 Ma) obtained for surface samples indicates later diagenesis. Thus, magmatism occurred during the Caledonian and Indosinian, respectively. The petrological and geochemical characteristics of the two Caledonian granites show that both are calc-alkaline and peraluminous.They are moderately enriched in Cs, Rb, U, and REE, and strongly depleted in Sr,Ba,P,and Ti; they show similar REE behavior,including negative Eu anomalies. These geochemical similarities suggest that the two granites were derived from the same source,although they were emplaced during different stages of the evolution of the magma. Furthermore, the granites are associated with mineralization, suggesting they were the source of mineralization in the Dushiling W-Cu deposit. Sm-Nd ages of scheelite from the Dushiling W-Cu deposit indicate that metallogenesis occurred at 417±35 Ma, while the two types of titanite, intergrown with scheelite, yield U-Pb ages of 423–425 Ma(in altered granite sample) and 218 Ma(in skarn sample). These ages place the main mineralization event in the late Caledonian, and later magmatic-hydrothermal activity occurred in the Indosinian. 3Enhancement of innate immune system in monocot rice by transferring the dicotyledonous elongation factor Tu receptor EFR显示文摘The elongation factor Tu(EF-Tu) receptor(EFR) in cruciferous plants specifically recognizes the N-terminal acetylated elf18 region of bacterial EF-Tu and thereby activates plant immunity.It has been demonstrated that Arabidopsis EFR confers broad-spectrum bacterial resistance in the EFR transgenic solanaceous plants.Here,the transgenic rice plants(Oryza sativa L.ssp.japonica cv.Zhonghua 17) and cell cultures with constitutive expression of AtEFR were developed to investigate whether AtEFR senses EF-Tu and thus enhances bacterial resistance in the monocot plants.We demonstrated that the Xanthomonas oryzae-derived elf18 peptide induced oxidative burst and mitogen-activated protein kinase activation in the AtEFR transgenic rice cells and plants,respectively.Pathogenesis-related genes,such as OsPBZ1,were upregulated dramatically in transgenic rice plant and cell lines in response to elf18 stimulation.Importantly,pretreatment with elf18 triggered strong resistance to X.oryzae pv.oryzae in the transgenic plants,which was largely dependent on the AtEFR expression level.These plants also exhibited enhanced resistance to rice bacterial brown stripe,but not to rice fungal blast.Collectively,the results indicate that the rice plants with heterologous expression of AtEFR recognize bacterial EF-Tu and exhibit enhanced broad-spectrum bacterial disease resistance and that pattern recognition receptor-mediated immunity may be manipulated across the two plant classes,dicots and monocots.Fen Lu Huiqin Wang Shanzhi Wang Wendi Jiang Changlin Shan Bin Li Jun Yang Shiyong Zhang Wenxian Sun 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,7:6

6Wing load investigation of the plunge-diving locomotion of a gannet Morus inspired submersible aircraft显示文摘In this paper,we studied the wing root pivot joint’s radial load of a submersible airplane which imitates the locomotion of gannet’s Morus plunge-diving,by implementing a test device name Mimic-Gannet.The housing of the device was designed by mimicking the morphology of a living gannet,and the folding wings were realized by the mechanism of variable swept back wing.Then,the radial loads of the wing root were obtained under the conditions of different dropping heights,different sweptback angles and different water-entry inclination angles(i.e.,the angle between the longitudinal body axis and the water surface),and the relationships between the peak radial load and the above three parameters were analyzed and discussed respectively.In the studied areas,the minimum peak radial load of the pivot joint is 50.93 N,while the maximum reaches up to1135.00 N.The largest peak load would be generated for the situation of vertical water entry and zero wing sweptback angle.And it is of great significance to choose the three parameters properly to reduce the pivot joint’s radial load,i.e.,larger wing sweptback angle,smaller dropping height and water-entry inclination angle.It is also concluded that the peak radial load on the wing root is closely linear with the water-entry dropping height and the wing sweptback angle with a significant correlation.Eventually,the relationship between the wing load and the dropping height,water-entry inclination angle or wing sweptback angle,could be used to calculate the wing load about plunge-diving of a submersible aircraft,and the conclusions reveal the wing load characteristic of the gannet’s plunge process for the biologists.LIANG JianHong YAO GuoCai WANG TianMiao YANG XingBang ZHAO WenDi SONG Gang ZHANG YuCheng 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,2:5

8Attenuation ofβ-Amyloid Toxicity In Vitro and In Vivo by Accelerated Aggregation显示文摘Accumulation and aggregation of β-amyloid(Aβ) peptides result in neuronal death, leading to cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease. The self-assembled Aβ molecules form various intermediate aggregates including oligomers that are more toxic to neurons than the mature aggregates, including fibrils. Thus, one strategy to alleviate Aβ toxicity is to facilitate the conversion of Aβ intermediates to larger aggregates such as fibrils. In this study, we designed a peptide named A3 that significantly enhanced the formation of amorphous aggregates of Aβ by accelerating the aggregation kinetics. Thioflavin T fluorescence experiments revealed an accelerated aggregation of Aβ monomers, accompanying reduced Aβ cytotoxicity. Transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans over-expressing amyloid precursor protein exhibited paralysis due to the accumulation of Aβ oligomers, and this phenotype was attenuated by feeding the animals with A3 peptide. 9Functional roles of ornithine decarboxylase and arginine decarboxylase during the peri-implantation period of pregnancy in sheep显示文摘Background: Polyamines stimulate DNA transcription and m RNA translation for protein synthesis in trophectoderm cells, as well as proliferation and migration of cells; therefore, they are essential for development and survival of conceptuses(embryo/fetus and placenta). The ovine conceptus produces polyamines via classical and non-classical pathways. In the classical pathway, arginine(Arg) is transformed into ornithine, which is then decarboxylated by ornithine decarboxylase(ODC1) to produce putrescine which is the substrate for the production of spermidine and spermine. In the non-classical pathway, Arg is converted to agmatine(Agm) by arginine decarboxylase(ADC), and Agm is converted to putrescine by agmatinase(AGMAT).Methods: Morpholino antisense oligonucleotides(MAOs) were designed and synthesized to inhibit translational initiation of the m RNAs for ODC1 and ADC, in ovine conceptuses.Results: The morphologies of MAO control, MAO-ODC1, and MAO-ADC conceptuses were normal. Double knockdown of ODC1 and ADC(MAO-ODC1:ADC) resulted in two phenotypes of conceptuses; 33% of conceptuses appeared to be morphological y and functional y normal(phenotype a) and 67% of the conceptuses presented an abnormal morphology and functionality(phenotype b). Furthermore, MAO-ODC1:ADC(a) conceptuses had greater tissue concentrations of Agm,putrescine, and spermidine than MAO control conceptuses, while MAO-ODC1:ADC(b) conceptuses only had greater tissue concentrations of Agm. Uterine flushes from ewes with MAO-ODC1:ADC(a) had greater amounts of arginine, aspartate, tyrosine, citrulline, lysine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, leucine, and glutamine, while uterine flushes of ewes with MAO-ODC1:ADC(b) conceptuses had lower amount of putrescine, spermidine, spermine, alanine, aspartate,glutamine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, leucine, and lysine.Conclusions: The double-knockdown of translation of ODC1 and ADC m RNAs was most detrimental to conceptus development and their production of interferon tau(IFNT). 13An evaluation of input/dissipation terms in WAVEWATCH Ⅲ using in situ and satellite significant wave height data in the South China Sea显示文摘A WAVEWATCH III version 3.14(WW3) wave model is used to evaluate input/dissipation source term packages WAM3, WAM4 and TC96 considering the effect of atmospheric instability. The comparisons of a significant wave height acquired from the model with different packages have been performed based on wave observation radar and HY-2 altimetry significant wave height data through five experiments in the South China Sea domain spanning latitudes of 0°–35°N and longitudes of 100°–135°E. The sensitivity of the wind speed correction parameter in the TC96 package also has been analyzed. From the results, the model is unable to dissipate the wave energy efficiently during a swell propagation with either source packages. It is found that TC96 formulation with the 'effective wind speed' strategy performs better than WAM3 and WAM4 formulations. 14E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF170 inhibits innate immune responses by targeting and degrading TLR3 in murine cells显示文摘Upon recognition of dsRNA,toll-like receptor 3(TLR3)recruits the adaptor protein TRIF to activate IRF3 and NF-κB signaling,initiating innate immune responses.The ubiquitination of TLR3 downstream signaling molecules and their roles in the innate response have been discovered;however,whether TLR3 itself is ubiquitinated and then functionally involved remains to be elucidated.By immunoprecipitating TLR3-binding proteins in macrophages,we identified ring finger protein 170(RNF170)as a TLR3-binding E3 ligase.RNF170 mediated the K48-linked polyubiquitination of K766 in the TIR domain of TLR3 and promoted the degradation of TLR3 through the proteasome pathway.The genetic ablation of RNF170 selectively augmented TLR3-triggered innate immune responses both in vitro and in vivo.Our results reveal a novel role for RNF170 in selectively inhibiting TLR3-triggered innate immune responses by promoting TLR3 degradation.Xiaoqi Song Shuo Liu Wendie Wang Zhongfei Ma Xuetao Cao Minghong Jiang 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,8:2

17Evidence for oxygenation of Fe-Mg oxides at mid-mantle conditions and the rise of deep oxygen显示文摘As the reaction product of subducted water and the iron core,FeO2 with more oxygen than hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3))has been recently recognized as an important component in the D'layer just above the Earth’s core-mantle boundary.Here,we report a new oxygen-excess phase(Mg,Fe)_(2)O_(3)+δ(0<δ<1,denoted as‘OE-phase’).It forms at pressures greater than 40 gigapascal when(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials are heated over 1500 kelvin.The OE-phase is fully recoverable to ambient conditions for ex situ investigation using transmission electron microscopy,which indicates that the OE-phase contains ferric iron(Fe^(3+))as in Fe_(2)O_(3) but holds excess oxygen through interactions between oxygen atoms.The new OE-phase provides strong evidence that H_(2)O has extraordinary oxidation power at high pressure.Unlike the formation of pyrite-type FeO_(2)H_(x) which usually requires saturated water,the OE-phase can be formed with under-saturated water at mid-mantle conditions,and is expected to be more ubiquitous at depths greater than 1000 km in the Earth’s mantle.The emergence of oxygen-excess reservoirs out of primordial or subducted(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials may revise our view on the deep-mantle redox chemistry.Jin Liu Chenxu Wang Chaojia Lv Xiaowan Su Yijin Liu Ruilian Tang Jiuhua Chen Qingyang Hu Ho-Kwang Mao Wendy L.Mao 2021National Science Review2021,8,4:2
