| 1 | Chemical characteristics of haze particles in Xi'an during Chinese Spring Festival: Impact of fireworks burning显示文摘Fireworks burning releases massive fine particles and gaseous pollutants, significantly deteriorating air quality during Chinese Lunar New Year(LNY) period. To investigate the impact of the fireworks burning on the atmospheric aerosol chemistry, 1-hr time resolution of PM_(2.5) samples in Xi'an during the winter of 2016 including the LNY were collected and detected for inorganic ions, acidity and liquid water content(LWC) of the fine aerosols. PM_(2.5) during the LNY was 167 ± 87 μg/m^3, two times higher than the China National Ambient Air Quality Standard(75 μg/m^3). K^+(28 wt.% of the total ion mass) was the most abundant ion in the LNY period, followed by SO_4^(2-)(25 wt.%) and Cl-(18 wt.%). In contrast, NO_3^-(34 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the haze periods(hourly PM32-2.5> 75 μg/m), followed by SO_4(29.2 wt.%) and NH_4^+(16.3 wt.%), while SO_4^(2-)(35 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the clean periods(hourly PM_(2.5)< 75 μg/m^3), followed by NO_3^-(23.1 wt.%) and NH_4^+(11 wt.%). Being different from the acidic nature in the non-LNY periods, aerosol in the LNY period presented an alkaline nature with a pH value of 7.8 ± 1.3. LWC during the LNY period showed a robust linear correlation with K_2SO_4 and KCl, suggesting that aerosol hygroscopicity was dominated by inorganic salts derived from fireworks burning. | 4 | Use of polymer combinations in the preparation of solid dispersions of a thermally unstable drug by hot-melt extrusion显示文摘The objective of the study was to prepare solid dispersions containing a thermally unstable drug by hot-melt extrusion(HME).Carbamazepine(CBZ)was selected as model drug and combinations of Kollidon VA64(VA64),Soluplus(SOL)and Eudragit EPO(EPO)were utilized as carriers.Preformulation was conducted to identify the suitability of polymer combinations based on solubility parameters,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),hot stage microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.Physicochemical properties of solid dispersions were determined by DSC,X-ray diffraction,fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,dissolution and accelerated stability testing.The results show that drug-polymer miscibility at temperatures below the melting point(Tm)of CBZ was improved by combining EPO with VA64 or SOL.With 30%drug loading in a solid dispersion in SOL:EPO(1:1,w/w),CBZ was mainly present in an amorphous form accompanied by a small amount of a microcrystalline form.The dissolution rate of the solid dispersion was significantly increased(approximately 90%within 5 min)compared to either the pure drug(approximately 85%within 60 min)or the corresponding physical mixture(approximately 80%within 60 min)before and after storage.The solid dispersion in SOL:EPO(1:1,w/w)was relatively stable at 401C/75%RH under CBZ tablet packaging conditions for at least 3 months.In conclusion,polymer combinations that improve drug-polymer miscibility at an HME processing temperature below the Tm of a drug appear to be beneficial in the preparation of solid dispersions containing thermally unstable drugs. | Jia Liu Feng Cao Can Zhang Qineng Ping | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,4: | 6 |

| 7 | Seasonal variation and size distribution of biogenic secondary organic aerosols at urban and continental background sites of China显示文摘Size-resolved biogenic secondary organic aerosols(BSOA) derived from isoprene and monoterpene photooxidation in Qinghai Lake, Tibetan Plateau(a continental background site) and five cities of China were measured using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS). Concentrations of the determined BSOA are higher in the cities than in the background and are also higher in summer than in winter. Moreover, strong positive correlations(R2= 0.44–0.90) between BSOA and sulfate were found at the six sites,suggesting that anthropogenic pollution(i.e., sulfate) could enhance SOA formation,because sulfate provides a surface favorable for acid-catalyzed formation of BSOA. Size distribution measurements showed that most of the determined SOA tracers are enriched in the fine mode(< 3.3 μm) except for cis-pinic and cis-pinonic acids, both presented a comparable mass in the fine and coarse(> 3.3 μm) modes, respectively. Mass ratio of oxidation products derived from isoprene to those from monoterpene in the five urban regions during summer are much less than those in Qinghai Lake region. In addition, in the five urban regions relative abundances of monoterpene oxidation products to SOA are much higher than those of isoprene. | 10 | ACBD3 is required for FAPP2 transferring glucosylceramide through maintaining the Golgi integrity显示文摘Glycosphingolipid (GSL) metabolism is involved in various physiological processes, including all major cell signaling pathways, and its dysregulation is linked to some diseases. The four-phosphate adaptor protein FAPP2-mediated glucosylceramide (GlcCer) transport for complex GSL synthesis has been studied extensively. However, the molecular machinery of FAPP2 as a GlcCer-transferring protein remains poorly defined. Here, we identify a Golgi-resident protein, acyl-coenzyme A binding domain containing 3 (ACBD3), as an interacting partner of FAPP2. We find that ACBD3 knockdown leads to dramatic Golgi fragmentation, which subsequently causes FAPP2 dispersal throughout the cytoplasm and a decreased localization at trans-Golgi network. The further quantitative Upidomic analysis indicates that ACBD3 knockdown triggers abnormal sphingolipid metabolism. Interestingly, the expression of siRNA-resistant full-length ACBD3 can rescue these defects caused by ACBD3 knockdown. | 12 | Effects of the total physical activity and its changes on incidence, progression, and remission of hypertension显示文摘OBJECTIVES Moderate to vigorous physical activity is recommended to prevent hypertension according to the current guidelines.However,the degree to which the total physical activity(TPA)and its changes benefit normotensives and hypertensives is uncertain.We aimed to examine the effects of TPA and its changes on the incidence,progression,and remission of hypertension in the large-scale prospective cohorts.METHODS A total of 73,077 participants(55,101 normotensives and 17,976 hypertensives)were eligible for TPA analyses.During a mean follow-up of 7.16 years(394,038 person-years),12,211 hypertension cases were identified.TPA was estimated as metabolic equivalents and categorized into quartiles.Cox proportional hazards regression and multivariable logistic regression were used to estimate associations of TPA and changes in TPA with incident hypertension and progression/remission of hypertension.RESULTS Compared with the lowest quartile of TPA,normotensives at the third and the highest quartile had a decreased risk of incident hypertension,with hazard ratios(HRs)of 0.86[95%confidence interval(CI):0.81−0.91]and 0.81(95%CI:0.77−0.86),respectively.Hypertensives at the highest quartile of TPA demonstrated a decreased risk of progression of hypertension[odds ratio(OR)=0.87,95%CI:0.79−0.95],and an increased probability of hypertension remission(OR=1.17,95%CI:1.05−1.29).Moreover,getting active from a sedentary lifestyle during the follow-up period could reduce 25%(HR=0.75,95%CI:0.58−0.96)risk of incident hypertension,whereas those becoming sedentary did not achieve benefit from initially being active.CONCLUSIONS Our findings indicated that increasing and maintaining TPA levels could benefit normotensives,whereas higher TPA levels were needed to effectively control progression and improve remission of hypertension.Physical activity played undoubtedly an essential role in both primary and secondary prevention of hypertension. | Can CAI Fang-Chao LIU Jian-Xin LI Ke-Yong HUANG Xue-Li YANG Ji-Chun CHEN Xiao-Qing LIU Jie CAO Shu-Feng CHEN Chong SHEN Ling YU Fang-Hong LU Xian-Ping WU Lian-Cheng ZHAO Ying LI Dong-Sheng HU Jian-Feng HUANG Xiao-Yang ZHOU Xiang-Feng LU Dong-Feng GU | 2021 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2021,18,3: | 2 |
