The Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian Subduct ion Complex in the Northern Qilian Mountains and Its Dynamics显示文摘The front of the Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian volcanic island arc zone in the northern Qilian Mountains is a forearc accretionary terrane, composed of multiple accretionary volcanic island arcs, flysch accretionary wedges,high-pressure metamorphosed detachment zones and remnants of ophiolites. It resulted from the northeastward subduction of the Early Palaeozoic Qilan oceanic crust beneath the Alxa block. High-pressure metamorphism, which occurred during the subduction, progressed through three stages: the initial stage of medium T-high P,the main stage of temperature decrease and pressure increase, and the lag stage of pressure decrease and temperature increase. Finally the paper presents a retrotrench subduction dynamic model indicative of northward subduction of the central Qilian block and southward accretion of the Alxa block during the period of 450-500 Ma.Xu Zhiqin, Xu Huifen, Zhang Jianxin, Li Haibing, Zhu Zhizhi, Qu Jingchuan,Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, BeijingChen Daizhang, Chen Jinlu, China University of Geosciences, Beijingand Yang KaichunNo. 2 Q ilian Geological Party, Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Q inghai Province, Q ilian County, Q inghai 1994Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)1994,68,3:19
Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3:12
The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. In particular, its wide field monitoring capabilities will be highly instrumental to detect the electro-magnetic counterparts of gravitational wave sources. The paper provides a detailed description of:(1) the technological and technical aspects, and the expected performance of the instruments of the scientific payload;(2) the elements and functions of the mission, from the spacecraft to the ground segment.ShuangNan Zhang Andrea Santangelo Marco Feroci YuPeng Xu FangJun Lu Yong Chen Hua Feng Shu Zhang Sφren Brandt Margarita Hernanz Luca Baldini Enrico Bozzo Riccardo Campana Alessandra De Rosa YongWei Dong Yuri Evangelista Vladimir Karas Norbert Meidinger Aline Meuris Kirpal Nandra Teng Pan Giovanni Pareschi Piotr Orleanski QiuShi Huang Stephane Schanne Giorgia Sironi Daniele Spiga Jiri Svoboda Gianpiero Tagliaferri Christoph Tenzer Andrea Vacchi Silvia Zane Dave Walton ZhanShan Wang Berend Winter Xin Wu Jean J.M.in't Zand Mahdi Ahangarianabhari Giovanni Ambrosi Filippo Ambrosino Marco Barbera Stefano Basso Jörg Bayer Ronaldo Bellazzini Pierluigi Bellutti Bruna Bertucci Giuseppe Bertuccio Giacomo Borghi XueLei Cao Franck Cadoux Francesco Ceraudo TianXiang Chen Yu Peng Chen Jerome Chevenez Marta Civitani Wei Cui WeiWei Cui Thomas Dauser Ettore Del Monte Sergio Di Cosimo Sebastian Diebold Victor Doroshenko Michal Dovciak YuanYuan Du Lorenzo Ducci QingMei Fan Yannick Favre Fabio Fuschino JoséLuis Ga'lvez Min Gao MingYu Ge Olivier Gevin Marco Grassi QuanYing Gu YuDong Gu DaWei Han Bin Hong Wei Hu Long Ji ShuMei Jia WeiChun Jiang Thomas Kennedy Ingo Kreykenbohm Irfan Kuvvetli Claudio Labanti Luca Latronico Gang Li MaoShun Li Xian Li Wei Li ZhengWei Li Olivier Limousin HongWei Liu XiaoJing Liu Bo Lu Tao Luo Daniele Macera Piero Malcovati Adrian Martindale Malgorzata Michalska Bin Meng Massimo Minuti Alfredo Morbidini Fabio Muleri Stephane Paltani Emanuele Perinati Antonino Picciotto Claudio Piemonte JinLu Qu Alexandre Rachevski Irina Rashevskaya Jerome Rodriguez Thomas Schanz ZhengXiang Shen LiZhi Sheng JiangBo Song LiMing Song Carmelo Sgro Liang Sun Ying Tan Phil Uttley Bo Wang DianLong Wang GuoFeng Wang Juan Wang LangPing Wang YuSa Wang Anna L.Watts XiangYang Wen Jörn Wilms ShaoLin Xiong JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang Nian Yu WenDa Zhang Gianluigi Zampa Nicola Zampa Andrzej A.Zdziarski AiMei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang Long Zhang Tong Zhang Yi Zhang XiaoLi Zhang ZiLiang Zhang BaoSheng Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yu Peng Zhou Nicola Zorzi J.Frans Zwart 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2:11
The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components. The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. In this paper, we introduce the design and performance of ME.XueLei Cao WeiChun Jiang Bin Meng WanChang Zhang Tao Luo Sheng Yang ChunLei Zhang YuDong Gu Liang Sun XiaoJing Liu JiaWei Yang Xian Li Ying Tan ShaoZhen Liu YuanYuan Du FangJun Lu YuPeng Xu Ju Guan ShuangNan Zhang HuanYu Wang TiPei Li ChengMo Zhang XiangYang Wen JinLu Qu LiMing Song XiaoBo Li MingYu Ge YuPeng Zhou ShaoLin Xiong Shu Zhang YongJie Zhang ZeHao Cheng Fei Zhang MaoShun Li XiaoHua Liang Min Gao EnBo Yang XiaoHang Liu HongWei Liu YiJung Yang Fan Zhang 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,4:5
Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. It was designed to perform pointing, scanning and gamma-ray burst(GRB)observations and, based on the Direct Demodulation Method (DDM), the image of the scanned sky region can be reconstructed. Here we give an overview of the mission and its progresses, including payload, core sciences, ground calibration/facility, ground segment, data archive, software, in-orbit performance, calibration, background model, observations and some preliminary results.Shuang-Nan Zhang TiPei Li FangJun Lu LiMing Song YuPeng X u CongZhan Liu Yong Chen XueLei Cao QingCui Bu Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong Yuan Yuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan Can Gungor ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge Ou JinLu Qu Na Sai RenCheng Shang GuoHong Shen Liang Sun Ying Tan Lian Tao YouLi Tuo Chen Wang ChunQin Wang GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BaiYang Wu BoBing Wu Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao ShaoLin Xiong LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang QiBin Yi Bin Yuan AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang ShenYi Zhangs Shu Zhang Tong Zhang WanChang Zhang Wei Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Yue Zhang Zhao Zhang Zhi Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng JianFeng Zhou YuXuan Zhu Yue Zhu RenLin Zhuang 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,4:2
Simulation of the in-flight calibration of the collimator alignment and PSF for HXMT显示文摘The Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(HXMT) is an X-ray astronomical satellite in 1-250 keV,consisting of three collimated instruments. We present the in-flight calibration approach of the collimator alignment and Point Spread Function(PSF) for HXMT,using both the direct fitting method and the imaging method.According to observational simulations of the Crab Nebula,we find that these two methods produce almost the same calibration accuracy of the alignment, and with a one-day scanning observation, the alignment can be calibrated to better than 0.45' and 0.1' along the wide and narrow directions of the Field of View(FOV) for a detector module, which corresponds to a localization accuracy of better than 0.1' and meets the scientific requirement.XIONG ShaoLin,LI XinQiao,QU JinLu & LU FangJun Key Laboratory for Particle Astrophysics,Institute of High Energy Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),Beijing 100049,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,S1:1
A Possible 250s X-Ray Quasi-periodicity in the Fast Blue Optical Transient AT2018cow显示文摘The fast blue optical transients(FBOTs)are a new population of extragalactic transients of unclear physical origin.A variety of mechanisms has been proposed including failed supernova explosion, shock interaction with a dense medium, young magnetar, accretion onto a compact object and stellar tidal disruption event, but none is conclusive. Here we report the discovery of a possible X-ray quasi-periodicity signal with a period of~250 s(at a significance level of 99.76%)in the brightest FBOT AT2018cow through the analysis of XMM-Newton/PN data. The signal is independently detected at the same frequency in the average power density spectrum from data taken from the Swift telescope, with observations covering from 6 to 37 days after the optical discovery, though the significance level is lower(94.26%).This suggests that the quasi-periodic oscillation(QPO)frequency may be stable over at least 1.1×10^(4)cycles.Assuming the~250 s QPO to be a scaled-down analog of that typically seen in stellar mass black holes,a black hole mass of~103–10^(5)solar masses could be inferred. The overall X-ray luminosity evolution could be modeled with a stellar tidal disruption by a black hole of~10^(4)solar masses, providing a viable mechanism to produce AT2018cow.Our findings suggest that other bright FBOTs may also harbor intermediate-mass black holes.Wenjie Zhang Xinwen Shu Jin-Hong Chen Luming Sun Rong-Feng Shen Lian Tao Chun Chen Ning Jiang Liming Dou Ying Qin Xue-Guang Zhang Liang Zhang Jinlu Qu Tinggui Wang 2022Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2022,22,12:0
Dense matter with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the Enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for determining the nature of dense matter; neutron star cores host an extreme density regime which cannot be replicated in a terrestrial laboratory. The tightest statistical constraints on the dense matter equation of state will come from pulse profile modelling of accretion-powered pulsars, burst oscillation sources, and rotation-powered pulsars. Additional constraints will derive from spin measurements, burst spectra, and properties of the accretion flows in the vicinity of the neutron star. Under development by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020 s.Anna L.Watts WenFei Yu Juri Poutanen Shu Zhang Sudip Bhattacharyya Slavko Bogdanov Long Ji Alessandro Patruno Thomas E.Riley Pavel Bakala Altan Baykal Federico Bernardini Ignazio Bombaci Edward Brown Yuri Cavecchi Deepto Chakrabarty Jér?me Chenevez Nathalie Degenaar Melania Del Santo Tiziana Di Salvo Victor Doroshenko Maurizio Falanga Robert D.Ferdman Marco Feroci Angelo F.Gambino MingYu Ge Svenja K.Greif Sebastien Guillot Can Gungor Dieter H.Hartmann Kai Hebeler Alexander Heger Jeroen Homan Rosario Iaria Jean in 't Zand Oleg Kargaltsev Aleksi KurkelaTheoretical Physics Department CERN XiaoYu Lai Ang Li XiangDong Li ZhaoSheng Li Manuel Linares FangJun Lu Simin Mahmoodifar Mariano Méndez M.Coleman Miller Sharon Morsink Joonas N?ttil? 9Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature. Developed by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Science, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020s.Jean J.M.in 't Zand Enrico Bozzo JinLu Qu Xiang-Dong Li Lorenzo Amati Yang Chen Immacolata Donnarumma Victor Doroshenko Stephen A.Drake Margarita Hernanz Peter A.Jenke Thomas J.Maccarone Simin Mahmoodifar Domitilla de Martino Alessandra De Rosa Elena M.Rossi Antonia Rowlinson Gloria Sala Giulia Stratta Thomas M.Tauris Joern Wilms XueFeng Wu Ping Zhou Iván Agudo Diego Altamirano Jean-Luc Atteia Nils A.andersson M.Cristina Baglio David R.Ballantyne Altan Baykal Ehud Behar Tomaso Belloni Sudip Bhattacharyya Stefano Bianchi Anna Bilous Pere Blay Joao Braga Sφren Brandt Edward F.Brown Niccolo Bucciantini Luciano Burderi Edward M.Cackett Riccardo Campana Sergio Campana Piergiorgio Casella Yuri Cavecchi Frank Chambers Liang Chen Yu-Peng Chen Jér?me Chenevez Maria Chernyakova ChiChuan Jin Riccardo Ciolfi Elisa Costantini Andrew Cumming Antonino D'Aì Zi-Gao Dai Filippo D'Ammando Massimiliano De Pasquale Nathalie Degenaar Melania Del Santo Valerio D'Elia Tiziana Di Salvo Gerry Doyle Maurizio Falanga XiLong Fan Robert D.Ferdman Marco Feroci Federico Fraschetti Duncan K.Galloway Angelo F.Gambino Poshak Gandhi MingYu Ge Bruce Gendre Ramandeep Gill Diego G?tz Christian Gouiffès Paola Grandi Jonathan Granot Manuel Güdel Alexander Heger Craig O.Heinke Jeroen Homan Rosario Iaria Kazushi Iwasawa Luca Izzo Long Ji Peter G.Jonker Jordi José Jelle S.Kaastra Emrah Kalemci Oleg Kargaltsev Nobuyuki Kawai Laurens Keek Stefanie Komossa Ingo Kreykenbohm Lucien Kuiper Devaky Kunneriath Gang Li En-Wei Liang Manuel Linares Francesco Longo FangJun Lu Alexander A.Lutovinov Denys Malyshev Julien Malzac Antonios Manousakis Ian McHardy Missagh Mehdipour YunPeng Men Mariano Méndez Roberto P.Mignani Romana Mikusincova M.Coleman Miller Giovanni Miniutti Christian Motch Joonas Nättilä Emanuele Nardini Torsten Neubert Paul T.O'Brien Mauro Orlandini Julian P.Osborne Luigi Pacciani Stéphane Paltani Maurizio Paolillo Iossif E.Papadakis Biswajit Paul Alberto Pellizzoni Uria Peretz Miguel A.Pérez Torres Emanuele Perinati Chanda Prescod-Weinstein Pablo Reig Alessandro Riggio Jerome Rodriguez Pablo Rodríguez-Gil Patrizia Romano Agata Rózańska Takanori Sakamoto Tuomo Salmi Ruben Salvaterra andrea Sanna andrea Santangelo Tuomas Savolainen Stéphane Schanne Hendrik Schatz LiJing Shao andy Shearer Steven N.Shore Ben W.Stappers Tod E.Strohmayer Valery F.Suleimanov Jirí Svoboda F.-K.Thielemann Francesco Tombesi Diego F.Torres Eleonora Torresi Sara Turriziani andrea Vacchi Stefano Vercellone Jacco Vink Jian-Min Wang JunFeng Wang Anna L.Watts ShanShan Weng Nevin N.Weinberg Peter J.Wheatley Rudy Wijnands Tyrone E.Woods Stan E.Woosley ShaoLin Xiong YuPeng Xu Zhen Yan George Younes WenFei Yu Feng Yuan Luca Zampieri Silvia Zane andrzej A.Zdziarski Shuang-Nan Zhang Shu Zhang Shuo Zhang Xiao Zhang Michael Zingale 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2:0
The rms-flux relation of Cyg X-2 in the horizontal branch显示文摘We have investigated the relation between the root mean square(rms) variability and the X-ray flux(rms-flux relation) of the Z source Cyg X-2,and as well the energy dependence based on the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer(RXTE) observations. We currently focus on the horizontal branch(HB),due to the negative correlation in flux of the soft and the hard X-rays.The rms-flux correlation has energy dependence as follows:positive at hard X-rays(above 10 keV) but negative at soft X-rays(below 10 keV).This provides a feature different from the previous one,and may be suggestive of different origins of X-rays below and above 10 keV.Nevertheless, the overall spectrum can be well fitted with a model consisting of a blackbody and Comptonization components, but the fitting results do not reveal any features around 10 keV that could account for such a change in the rms-flux relation.LI ZhiBing,LEI YaJuan,QU JinLu,ZHANG Shu & SONG LiMing Key Laboratory for Particle Astrophysics,Institute of High Energy Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),Beijing 100049,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,S1:0
The flux modulation of INTEGRAL显示文摘We have analyzed International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory(INTEGRAL) data corresponding to observations of the high mass X-ray binary(HMXB) V0332+53 during its huge outburst which occurred in 2004-2005,and found that there is a quasi periodic signal with ultra low frequency of roughly 4-5×10-5 Hz in the observation. This feature is revealed through a series of consistent analyses of imagings and fittings of the energy spectrum for each science window(SCW),and shows up in the corresponding light curves. The analysis of the power spectrum also provides a hint of a power peak located around 4×10-5 Hz,after subtracting off the linear trend of the light curve, and shows the consistency with the previous analyses.A similar feature shows up in our analysis of the light curve of Crab in hexagonal dithering mode. Therefore,an instrumental effect on the flux modulation might exist in the INTEGRAL data product of different levels:imaging, spectral fitting and light curve analysis,at least for the observational mode of hexagonal dithering.Such an effect is,to our knowledge, not yet available in the current literature.CHEN YuPeng,ZHANG Shu,WANG JianMin,LI TiPei & QU JinLu Laboratory for Particle Astrophysics,Institute of High Energy Physics,Beijing 100049,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,S1:0
