1Application of Next-generation Sequencing Technology in Forensic Science显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology, with its high-throughput capacity and low cost, has developed rapidly in recent years and become an important analytical tool for many genomics researchers. New opportunities in the research domain of the forensic studies emerge by harnessing the power of NGS technology, which can be applied to simultaneously analyzing multiple loci of forensic interest in different genetic contexts, such as autosomes, mitochondrial and sex chromosomes. Furthermore, NGS technology can also have potential applications in many other aspects of research. These include DNA database construction, ancestry and phenotypic inference,monozygotic twin studies, body fluid and species identification, and forensic animal, plant and microbiological analyses. 2On-chip erbium-doped lithium niobate microcavity laser显示文摘The commercialization of lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI) wafer has resulted in significant on-chip photonic integration application owing to its remarkable photonic,acousto-optic,electro-optic,and piezoelectric nature.In recent years,a variety of high-performance on-chip LNOI-based photonic devices have been realized.In this study,we developed a 1-mol% erbium-doped lithium niobate crystal and its LNOI on a silicon substrate and fabricated an erbium-doped LNOI microdisk with high quality factor(~1.05×105).C-band laser emission at ~1530 and ~1560 nm(linewidth 0.12 nm) from the high-Q erbium-doped LNOI microdisk was demonstrated with 974-and 1460-nm pumping,with the latter having better thermal stability.This microlaser would play an important role in the photonic integrated circuits of the lithium niobate platform.YiAn Liu XiongShuo Yan JiangWei Wu Bing Zhu YuPing Chen XianFeng Chen 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,3:7
3Characterization of miRNomes in Acute and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Cell Lines显示文摘Myeloid leukemias are highly diverse diseases and have been shown to be associated with microRNA(miRNA) expression aberrations. The present study involved an in-depth miRNome analysis of two human acute myeloid leukemia(AML) cell lines, HL-60 and THP-1, and one human chronic myeloid leukemia(CML) cell line, K562, via massively parallel signature sequencing. mRNA expression profiles of these cell lines that were established previously in our lab facilitated an integrative analysis of miRNA and mRNA expression patterns. miRNA expression profiling followed by differential expression analysis and target prediction suggested numerous miRNA signatures in AML and CML cell lines. Some miRNAs may act as either tumor suppressors or oncomiRs in AML and CML by targeting key genes in AML and CML pathways. Expression patterns of cell type-specific miRNAs could partially reflect the characteristics of K562, HL-60 and THP-1 cell lines, such as actin filament-based processes, responsiveness to stimulus and phagocytic activity. miRNAs may also regulate myeloid differentiation, since they usually suppress differentiation regulators. Our study provides a resource to further investigate the employment of miRNAs in human leukemia subtyping, leukemogenesis and myeloid development. 4The spatial variation of soil bacterial community assembly processes affects the accuracy of source tracking in ten major Chinese cities显示文摘Urban soils harbor billions of bacterial cells and millions of species.However,the distribution patterns and assembly processes of bacterial communities remain largely uncharacterized in urban soils.It is also unknown if we can use the bacteria to track soil sources to certain cities and districts.Here,Illumina MiSeq sequencing was used to survey soil bacterial communities from 529 random plots spanning 61 districts and 10 major cities in China.Over a 3,000 km range,community similarity declined with increasing geographic distance(Mantel r=0.62),and community composition was clustered by city(R^(2)=0.50).Within cities(<100 km),the aforementioned biogeographic patterns were weakened.Process analysis showed that homogenizing dispersal and dispersal limitation dominated soil bacterial assembly at small and large spatial scales,respectively.Accordingly,the probabilities of accurately tracking random soil sources to certain cities and districts were 90.0% and 66.7%,respectively.When the tested samples originated from cities that were more than 1,265 km apart,the soil sources could be identified with nearly 100% accuracy.Overall,this study demonstrates the strong distance-decay relationship and the clear geographic zoning of urban soil bacterial communities among cities.The varied importance of different community assembly processes at multiple spatial scales strongly affects the accuracy of microbial source tracking.Teng Yang Yu Shi Jun Zhu Chang Zhao Jianmei Wang Zhiyong Liu Xiao Fu Xu Liu Jiangwei Yan Meiqing Yuan Haiyan Chu 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9:4

66 GHz hyperfast rotation of an optically levitated nanoparticle in vacuum显示文摘We report an experimental observation of a record-breaking ultrahigh rotation frequency about 6 GHz in an optically levitated nanoparticle system. We optically trap a nanoparticle in the gravity direction with a high numerical aperture (NA) objective lens,which shows significant advantages in compensating the influences of the scattering force and the photophoretic force on the trap,especially at intermediate pressure (about100 Pa). This allows us to trap a nanoparticle from atmospheric to low pressure (10^(-3)Pa) without using feedback cooling. We measure a highest rotation frequency about 4.3 GHz of the trapped nanoparticle without feedback cooling and a 6 GHz rotation with feedback cooling,which is the fastest mechanical rotation ever reported to date.Our work provides useful guides for efficiently observing hyperfast rotation in the optical levitation system and may find various applications such as in ultra-sensitive torque detection,probing vacuum friction,and testing unconventional decoherence theories.YUANBIN JIN JIANGWEI YAN SHAH JEE RAHMAN JIE LI XUDONG YU JING ZHANG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,7:3

14Strain-Assisted Single Pt Sites on High-Curvature MoS_(2)Surface for Ultrasensitive H_(2)S Sensing显示文摘Engineering the local three-dimensional structure of metal sites has an important effect of maximizing the activity and selectivity of single-atom site catalysts.Here,we engineered a strain-assisted single Pt sites structure on a highly curved MoS_(2)surface to enhance its H_(2)S sensor property.By introducing N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP)as guiding molecules,a multilayer MoS_(2)structure with bending base planes was achieved.This bending behavior could inject not only uniform in-plane strain into the original inert MoS_(2)basal plane but also introduce sufficient accessible sites to anchor Pt monomers.Further experimental and theoretical results showed that the highcurvature MoS_(2)surface endowed 0.8%stretch strain onto the low-coordinated single Pt sites with a unique“tip”effect,which led to more accumulation of electrons around the Pt species,thereby accelerating the electric transfer process between H_(2)S and supports.The final catalyst delivered pronouncedly enhanced H_(2)S sensing response and response speed at room temperature.Our proposed strain-assisted strategy might create a new path to design highly active single-atom site catalysts for gas sensors.Zhenggang Xue Chun Wang Yujing Tong Muyu Yan Jiangwei Zhang Xiao Han Xun Hong Yafei Li Yuen Wu 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,12:0

16Cobalt disulfide/carbon nanofibers with mesoporous heterostructure and excellent hydrophilicity for high energy density asymmetric supercapacitor显示文摘Herein,a unique mesoporous heterostructure(average pore size:15 nm)cobalt disulfide/carbon nanofibers(CoS_(2)/PCNFs)composite with excellent hydrophilicity(contact angle:23.5°)is prepared using polyethylene glycol(PEG)as a pore-forming agent.The CoS_(2)/PCNF electrode exhibits excellent cycle stability(95.2%of initial specific capacitance at 10 A·g^(-1)after 8000 cycles),good rate performance(46.5%at 10 A·g^(-1)),and high specific capacity(86.1 mAh·g^(-1)at 1 A·g^(-1),about 688.8 F·g^(-1)at 1 A·g^(-1)).Density functional theory(DFT)simulation elucidates that CoS_(2)tends to transfer substantial charges to CNF.As the center of positive charge,CoS_(2)is more likely to capture negative ions in the electrolyte,thus accelerating the ion diffusion process.The excellent properties of the electrode material can not only accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics,but also provide abundant redox-active sites and a high Faradaic capacity for the entire electrode due to the synergistic contributions of CoS_(2)nanoparticles,mesoporous heterostructure of PCNF,and admirable hydrophilicity of the composite material.A CoS_(2)/PCNF-0.25//AC(AC:activated carbon)asymmetric supercapacitor is assembled using CoS_(2)/PCNF-0.25 as the positive electrode and AC as the negative electrode,which possesses a high energy density(35.5 Wh·kg^(-1)at a power density of 824 W·kg^(-1))and superior cycling stability(maintaining over 98%of initial capacitance after 2000 cycles).In addition,the unique CoS_(2)/PCNF electrode is expected to be widely used in other electrochemical energy storage devices,such as lithium-ion batteries,sodium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur batteries,etc.Wenjie Liu Fen Qiao Jing Yang Jiaren Yuan Yi Xie Tao Wang Jinzhi Hu Jihua Zheng Rui Ren Xiaomin Kang Yan Zhao Jiangwei Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0

19Identi cation of seed heat tolerance and its correlation with agronomic traits in Brassica napus L.显示文摘To better understand the effect of high temperature on seed viability, artificial aging treatments were implemented on 472 accessions of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) by constant high temperature at 70℃for 8h. Results showed a remarkable impact of constant heat on seed germination. After heat treatment, considerable variation was found in seed germinability, some genotypes even lost the ability to germinate. The effect of accelerated aging was highly significant. Germination parameters varied among ecotypes. Seed viability varied with different origin, and was significantly and positively correlated with seed yield per plant and dry weight of aboveground parts per plant among 14 agronomic traits. 20Solvent sieving separators implement dual electrolyte for highvoltage lithium-metal batteries显示文摘Lithium-metal batteries(LMBs)based on high-voltage cathodes would deliver high specific energy density to meet the demand of future energy storage.However,developing liquid electrolytes with wide electrochemical window for high-energy LMBs is intrinsically challenging.Herein,we demonstrate metal-organic framework-functionalized separators(PE@MOF)with solvent sieving capability that implement dual electrolyte for LMBs.The capability of PE@MOF separator to block the diffusion of liquid electrolytes has been investigated.The PE@MOF separator notably suppresses solvents shuttling,enabling the independent optimization of cathode-electrolyte and anode-electrolyte interfaces.By adapting commercial carbonate and ether electrolytes on cathode and anode sides,respectively,robust cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)and solid electrolyte interface(SEI)have been built on both electrodes.The lifespan of LiCoO_(2)(LCO)|Li full cell has been notably extended when using dual electrolyte and the solvent-sieving PE@MOF separator.This work demonstrates a new strategy to separately optimize the local environments at electrodes and to develop high-energy LMBs using low-cost and commercially available electrolytes.Yan Liu Qianqian Liu Youran Hong Yifei Xu Zerui Chen Wei Zhao Zhikun Hu Jiangwei Wang Hao Bin Wu 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
