3Ultrahigh performance concrete–properties, applications and perspectives显示文摘Over the last twenty years,remarkable advances have taken place in the research and application of ultra-high performance concrete(UHPC),which exhibits outstanding mechanical properties and excellent durability.It has shown great potential for the next generation infrastructure construction from the sustainability point of view.This paper will give an overview on UHPC,with particular focus on the properties,applications and perspectives.After several decades of development,several types of commercial UHPC materials are available in the market,and the properties of UHPC have been characterized by numerous experimental and field tests.Generally speaking,the performance(e.g.mechanical properties and durability)of UHPC is much better than normal concrete(NC)and high performance concrete(HPC).Therefore,the uses of UHPC are growing all over the world,in both fields of new construction and retrofitting.Nevertheless,it is still a special material and technology,which is not worldwide accepted.So some application prospects of UHPC are briefly introduced in the paper,and the efforts,which have to be made to turn UHPC into a widespread‘regular’technology,are discussed.This paper aims to help designers,engineers,architects and infrastructure owners to know the capacities of UHPC and thus to increase the applications of this material.GU Chun Ping YE Guang SUN Wei 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,4:28

5Establishment of the diploid gynogenetic hybrid clonal line of red crucian carp × common carp显示文摘This study investigated the gynogenetic cytobiological behavior of the third gynogenetic generation (G3), which was generated from the diploid eggs produced by the second gynogenetic generation (G2) of red crucian carp × common carp, and determined the chromosomal numbers of G3, G2×scatter scale carp and G2×allotetraploid hybrids of red crucian carp × common carp. The results showed that the diploid eggs of G2 with 100 chromosomes, activated by UV-irradiated sperm from scatter scale carp and without the treatment for doubling the chromosomes, could develop into G3 with 100 chromosomes. Similar to the first and second gynogenetic generations (G1 and G2), G3 was also diploid (2n=100) and presented the hybrid traits. The triploids (3n=150) and tetraploids (4n=200) were produced by crossing G2 with scatter scale carp and crossing G2 with allotetraploids, respectively. The extrusion of the second polar body in the eggs of G2 ruled out the possibility that the retention of the second polar body led to the formation of the diploid eggs. In addition, we discussed the mechanism of the formation of the diploid eggs generated by G2. The establishment of the diploid gynogenesis clonal line (G1, G2 and G3) provided the evidence that the diploid eggs were able to develop into a new diploid hybrid clonal line by gynogenesis. 7RVA and Farinograph Properties Study on Blends of Resistant Starch and Wheat Flour显示文摘Resistant starch (RS) is the undigested starch that passes through the small intestine to the large intestine. As afunctional low calorie additive, it has special applications in the food industry. Rapid visco analysis (RVA) and theBrabender farinograph were used to study the pasting properties and the viscoelasticity of blends of RS (RS3 and RS2)and three wheat flours. The wheat flours represented strong gluten wheat (SGW), intermediate gluten wheat (IGW), andweak gluten wheat (WGW) flours, at different levels of RS substitution (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20%). The influence of RS3 on thecontrol wheat flours and RS-wheat flour blends were consistent with those of RS2. The peak, trough, and final viscositiesof RS3-wheat flour blends were higher than those of the corresponding RS2-wheat flour blends. The peak, trough,breakdown, final, and setback viscosities of wheat-RS blends decreased with an increase in resistant starch contents from0 to 20% in the blends. The 0-20% RS-wheat flour blends were all able to form doughs. The dough development times,dough stabilities, dough breakdown times, and farinograph quality numbers for the RS-wheat flour blends decreased asthe RS proportion in the blends increased. The values for RS-SGW flour blends were the highest, followed by RS-IGWand then RS-WGW flour blends. The water absorption values for RS-wheat flour blends and the mixing tolerance index forRS-WGW flour blends were found to increase significantly with an increasing proportion of RS from 0 to 20%, but themixing tolerance index for RS-SGW and RS-IGW flour blends showed no significant differences amongst the differentratios. Correlation analysis showed that the Farinograph quality number was highly positively correlated with doughbreakdown time, dough stability, and dough development time (r = 1.000, 0.958, 0.894), and highly negatively correlatedwith the mixing tolerance index (r = -0.890). Data from this study can be used for the development of dough-basedproducts. 9Role of the Subtropical Westerly Jet Waveguide in a Southern China Heavy Rainstorm in December 2013显示文摘An extreme rainstorm hit southern China during 13–17 December 2013, with a record-breaking daily rainfall rate, large spatial extent, and unusually long persistence. We examined what induced this heavy rainfall process, based on observed rainfall data and NCEP–NCAR reanalysis data through composite and diagnostic methods. The results showed that a Rossby waveguide within the subtropical westerly jet caused the event. The Rossby wave originated from strong cold air intrusion into the subtropical westerly jet over the eastern Mediterranean. With the enhancement and northward shift of the Middle East westerly jet, the Rossby wave propagated slowly eastward and deepened the India–Burma trough, which transported a large amount of moisture from the Bay of Bengal and South China Sea to southern China. Strong divergence in the upper troposphere, caused by the enhancement of the East Asian westerly jet, also favored the heavy rainfall process over Southeast China. In addition, the Rossby wave was associated with a negative-to-positive phase shift and enhancement of the North Atlantic Oscillation, but convergence in the eastern Mediterranean played the key role in the eastward propagation of the Rossby wave within the subtropical westerly jet.LI Chun SUN Jilin 2015Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2015,32,5:15

12Clinicopathological significance of altered Notch signaling in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role and clinicopathological significance of aberrant expression of Notch receptors and Delta-like ligand-4 (DLL4) in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder carcinoma.METHODS:One hundred and ten patients had surgically resected extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (CC) and gallbladder carcinoma specimens examined by immunohistochemistry of available paraffin blocks.Immunohistochemistry was performed using anti-Notch receptors 1-4 and anti-DLL4 antibodies.We scored the immunopositivity of Notch receptors and DLL4 expression by percentage of positive tumor cells with cytoplasmic expression and intensity of immunostaining.Coexistent nuclear localization was evaluated.Clinicopatho-logical parameters and survival data were compared with the expression of Notch receptors 1-4 and DLL4.RESULTS:Notch receptor proteins showed in the cytoplasm with or without nuclear expression in cancer cells,as well as showing weak cytoplasmic expression in non-neoplastic cells.By semiquantitative evaluation,positive immunostaining of Notch receptor 1 was detected in 96 cases (87.3%),Notch receptor 2 in 97 (88.2%),Notch receptor 3 in 97 (88.2%),Notch receptor 4 in 103 (93.6),and DLL4 in 84 (76.4%).In addition,coex- istent nuclear localization was noted [Notch receptor 1;18 cases (18.8%),Notch receptor 2;40 (41.2%),Notch receptor 3;32 (33.0%),Notch receptor 4;99 (96.1%),DLL4;48 (57.1%)].Notch receptor 1 expression was correlated with advanced tumor,node,metastasis (TNM) stage (P=0.043),Notch receptor 3 with advanced T stage (P=0.017),tendency to express in cases with nodal metastasis (P=0.065) and advanced TNM stage (P=0.052).DLL4 expression tended to be related to less histological differentiation (P=0.095).Coexistent nuclear localization of Notch receptor 3 was related to no nodal metastasis (P=0.027) and Notch receptor 4 with less histological differentiation (P=0.036),while DLL4 tended to be related inversely with T stage (P=0.053).Coexistent nuclear localization of DLL4 was related to poor survival (P=0.002).CONCLUSION:Aberrant expression of Notch receptors 1 and 3 play a role during cancer progression,and cytoplasmic nuclear coexistence of DLL4 expression correlates with poor survival in extrahepatic CC and gallbladder carcinoma.Hyun Ah Yoon Myung Hwan Noh Byung Geun Kim Ji Sun Han Jin Seok Jang Seok Ryeol Choi Jin Sook Jeong Jin Ho Chun 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,35:14

14High-speed colour-converting photodetector with all-inorganic CsPbBr_(3) perovskite nanocrystals for ultraviolet light communication显示文摘Optical wireless communication(OWC)using the ultra-broad spectrum of the visible-to-ultraviolet(UV)wavelength region remains a vital field of research for mitigating the saturated bandwidth of radio-frequency(RF)communication.However,the lack of an efficient UV photodetection methodology hinders the development of UV-based communication.The key technological impediment is related to the low UV-photon absorption in existing silicon photodetectors,which offer low-cost and mature platforms.To address this technology gap,we report a hybrid Sibased photodetection scheme by incorporating CsPbBr_(3) perovskite nanocrystals(NCs)with a high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)and a fast photoluminescence(PL)decay time as a UV-to-visible colourconverting layer for high-speed solar-blind UV communication.The facile formation of drop-cast CsPbBr_(3) perovskite NCs leads to a high PLQY of up to ~73% and strong absorption in the UV region.With the addition of the NC layer,a nearly threefold improvement in the responsivity and an increase of ~25% in the external quantum efficiency(EQE)of the solar-blind region compared to a commercial silicon-based photodetector were observed.Moreover,timeresolved photoluminescence measurements demonstrated a decay time of 4.5 ns under a 372-nm UV excitation source,thus elucidating the potential of this layer as a fast colour-converting layer.A high data rate of up to 34 Mbps in solar-blind communication was achieved using the hybrid CsPbBr_(3)-silicon photodetection scheme in conjunction with a 278-nm UVC light-emitting diode(LED).These findings demonstrate the feasibility of an integrated high-speed photoreceiver design of a composition-tuneable perovskite-based phosphor and a low-cost silicon-based photodetector for UV communication.Chun Hong Kang Ibrahim Dursun Guangyu Liu Lutfan Sinatra Xiaobin Sun Meiwei Kong Jun Pan Partha Maity Ee-Ning Ooi Tien Khee Ng Omar F.Mohammed Osman M.Bakr Boon S.Ooi 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:14
15Comparative studies on histological and ultra-structure of the pituitary of different ploidy level fishes显示文摘The histological and ultra-structure of the pituitary in diploid red crucian carp(Carassius auratus red var.),triploid crucian carp and allotetraploid hybrids within and after the breeding season were comparatively studied.The result showed that there were six endocrine cell types in the pituitary of these three kinds of fishes,and there was an obvious difference in cell size among different ploidy level fishes.As for the same type of pituitary cells,the cell size was increased gradually with the in- creasing ploidy level.In the breeding season,the allotetraploid hybrids had higher proportion of go- nadotropin cells(GTH)than triploids,and the triploids had higher proportion of GTH than diploids.The results were related to the earlier sexual maturity of allotetraploid hybrids and sterility of triploid cru- cian carp.On the other hand,among the three kinds of fishes,the proportion of somatotropin(STH) cells in triploids crucian carp was the highest,whereas that in allotetraploid hybrids was the lowest. 17Prognostic value of inflammation-based markers in patients with pancreatic cancer administered gemcitabine and erlotinib显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the value of systemic inflammationbased markers as prognostic factors for advanced pancreatic cancer(PC). METHODS: Data from 82 patients who underwent combination chemotherapy with gemcitabine and erlotinib for PC from 2011 to 2014 were collected retrospectively. Data that included the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR), the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and the C-reactive protein(CRP)-to-albumin(CRP/Alb) ratio were analyzed. Kaplan-Meier curves, and univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analyses were used to identify the prognostic factors associated with progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS). RESULTS: The univariate analysis demonstrated the prognostic value of the NLR(P = 0.049) and the CRP/Alb ratio(P = 0.047) in relation to PFS, and a positiverelationship between an increase in inflammation-based markers and a poor prognosis in relation to OS. The multivariate analysis determined that an increased NLR(hazard ratio = 2.76, 95%CI: 1.33-5.75, P = 0.007) is an independent prognostic factor for poor OS. There was no association between the PLR and the patients' prognoses in those who had received chemotherapy that comprised gemcitabine and erlotinib in combination. 20Guanling Biota: A Marker of Triassic Biotic Recovery from the end-Permian Extinction in the Ancient Guizhou Sea显示文摘After a slow recovery from the end-Permian extinction during the Early Triassic and rapid radiation in the Middle Triassic, evolution of organisms reached a new peak phase in the Late Triassic. The Guanling Biota from the Wayao Member (conodont Paragondolella polygnathiformis Zone), Falang Formation, Xinpu, Guanling County, Guizhou Province, southwestern China corresponds to this peak that marks the full recovery from the end-Permian extinction of marine ecosystems. The biota is of high diversity, containing well preserved and completely articulated skeletons of vertebrates comprising marine reptiles, fishes, and invertebrates including crinoids, ammonites, bivalves, and other fossils, and is one of the best examples of marine ecosystem records in life history. The fossil marine reptiles and crinoids are most significant in this biota, especially the marine reptiles, which provide an important link between the Triassic Pacific and Tethys, and between Triassic basal forms and the Jurassic-Cretaceous marine top predators. The most remarkable fossils are the large completely articulated ichthyosaur skeletons up to and more than 10 m, and the first recorded thalattosaurs and placodonts in China. Following our review, of the 17 named reptilian taxa the eight listed here are considered to be valid: three ichthyosaurs (Qianichthyosaurus zhoui Li, 1999; Guizhouichthyosaurus tangae Cao and Luo in Yin et al., 2000, Guanlingsaurus liangae Yin in Yin et al., 2000), three thalattosaurs (Anshunsaurus huangguoshuensis Liu, 1999, Xinpusaurus suni Yin in Yin et al., 2000, Xinpusaurus kohi Jiang et al., 2004), and two placodonts (Sinocyamodus xinpuensis Li, 2000, Psephochelys polyosteoderma Li and Rieppel, 2002). Mixosaurus guanlingensis Cao in Yin et al., 2000 might be a junior synonym of Qianichthyosaurus zhoui Li, 1999, and Cymbospondylus asiaticus Li and You, 2002 and Panjiangsaurus epicharis Chen and Cheng, 2003 might be junior synonyms of Guizhouichthyosaurus tangae Cao and Luo in Yin et al., 2000.
