1Washed microbiota transplantation vs.manual fecal microbiota transplantation:clinical findings,animal studies and in vitro screening显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)by manual preparation has been applied to treat diseases for thousands of years.However,this method still endures safety risks and challenges the psychological endurance and acceptance of doctors,patients and donors.Population evidence showed the washed microbiota preparation with microfiltration based on an automatic purification system followed by repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times significantly reduced FMT-related adverse events.This washing preparation makes delivering a precise dose of the enriched microbiota feasible,instead of using the weight of stool.Intraperitoneal injection in mice with the fecal microbiota supernatant obtained after repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times induced less toxic reaction than that by the first centrifugation following the microfiltration.The toxic reactions that include death,the change in the level of peripheral white blood cells,and the proliferation of germinal center in secondary lymphoid follicles in spleen were noted.The metagenomic next-generation sequencing(NGS)indicated the increasing types and amount of viruses could be washed out during the washing process.Metabolomics analysis indicated metabolites with pro-inflammatory effects in the fecal microbiota supernatant such as leukotriene B4,corticosterone,and prostaglandin G2 could be removed by repeated washing.Near-infrared absorption spectroscopy could be served as a rapid detection method to control the quality of the washingprocess.In conclusion,this study for the first time provides evidence linking clinical findings and animal experiments to support that washed microbiota transplantation(WMT)is safer,more precise and more quality-controllable than the crude FMT by manual.Ting Zhang Gaochen Lu Zhe Zhao Yafei Liu Quan Shen Pan Li Yaoyao Chen Haoran Yin Huiquan Wang Cicilia Marcella Bota Cui Lei Cheng Guozhong Ji Faming Zhang 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,4:44
2Atomically dispersed Au_1 catalyst towards efficient electrochemical synthesis of ammonia显示文摘Tremendous efforts have been devoted to explore energy-efficient strategies of ammonia synthesis to replace Haber–Bosch process which accounts for 1.4% of the annual energy consumption. In this study,atomically dispersed Au_1 catalyst is synthesized and applied in electrochemical synthesis of ammonia under ambient conditions. A high NH_4^+ Faradaic efficiency of 11.1% achieved by our Au_1 catalyst surpasses most of reported catalysts under comparable conditions. Benefiting from efficient atom utilization, an NH_4^+ yield rate of 1,305 lg h^(-1) mg_(Au)^(-1) has been reached, which is roughly 22.5 times as high as that by supported Au nanoparticles. We also demonstrate that by employing our Au_1 catalyst, NH4+can be electrochemically produced directly from N_2 and H_2 with an energy utilization rate of 4.02 mmol kJ^(-1). 3Kinetics of the accumulation of group 2 innate lymphoid cells in IL-33-induced and IL-25-induced murine models of asthma:a potential role for the chemokine CXCL16显示文摘ILC2s are implicated in asthma pathogenesis, but little is known about the mechanisms underlying their accumulation in airways.We investigated the time course of ILC2 accumulation in different tissues in murine models of asthma induced by a serial per-nasalchallenge with ovalbumin (OVA), house dust mice (HDM), IL-25 and IL-33 and explored the potential roles of ILC2-attractingchemokines in this phenomenon. Flow cytometry was used to enumerate ILC2s at various time points. The effects of cytokines andchemokines on ILC2 migration were measured in vitro using a chemotaxis assay and in vivo using small animal imaging. Comparedwith saline and OVA challenge, both IL-25 and IL-33 challenge alone induced significant accumulation of ILC2s in the mediastinallymph nodes, lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of challenged animals, but with a distinct potency and kinetics. In vitro,IL-33 and CXCL16, but not IL-25 or CCL25, directly induced ILC2 migration. Small animal in vivo imaging further confirmed that asingle intranasal provocation with IL-33 or CXCL16 was sufficient to induce the accumulation of ILC2s in the lungs followinginjection via the tail vein. Moreover, IL-33-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38, Akt, JNK and NF-κB, whileCXCL16-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38 and Akt. These data support the hypothesis that epitheliumderived IL-25 and IL-33 induce lung accumulation of ILC2s, while IL-33 exerts a direct chemotactic effect in this process. 5Dietary garcinol supplementation improves diarrhea and intestinal barrier function associated with its modulation of gut microbiota in weaned piglets显示文摘Background:The effects of dietary garcinol on diarrhea and intestinal barrier function associated with its modulation of gut microbiota in weaned piglets were investigated.Method:One hundred forty four weaned piglets(Duroc×Yorkshire×Landrace)from 16 pens(9 piglets per pen)were randomly divided into four treatment groups:controls(CON)or those supplemented with 200 mg/kg(LOW),400 mg/kg(MID),or 600 mg/kg(HIGH)diet garcinol.After 14-day trial,three piglets per pen were chosen to collect plasma,intestinal tissue and colonic digesta samples.Results:We demonstrated for the first time that garcinol promoted growth performance,as increased average daily feed intake(ADFI)and decreased feed/gain ratio(F/G);and reduced diarrhea incidence(P<0.05);and strengthened antioxidant capacity,as an increased antioxidative index(P<0.05).Additionally,garcinol ameliorated intestinal barrier dysfunction,as an increased villus height to crypt depth ratio,increased zonula occludens protein 1(ZO-1),occludin and claudin-1 expression in the jejunum and ileum(P<0.05),and decreased intestinal permeability(P<0.05);and reduced inflammation,as decreased cytokine interleukin(IL)-6,IL-10,IL-1βand tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels in the mucosa of the jejunum and ileum,and NF-κB p65 translocation(P<0.05).Moreover,garcinol inhibited the growth of most harmful bacteria in the gut,especially Escherichia coli,and increased the growth of the beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus.Conclusion:This work provides a fundamental basis for the future development of garcinol-functional food use for improving diarrhea and intestinal barrier function in weaned piglets and for understanding the biological effects of garcinol and its potential as a functional feed additive.Tongxin Wang Weilei Yao Juan Li Yafei Shao Qiongyu He Jun Xia Feiruo Huang 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,3:8

7A review of rockburst:Experiments,theories,and simulations显示文摘Rockburst is becoming a huge challenge for the utilization of deep underground space.Extensive efforts have been devoted to investigating the rockburst behavior and mechanism experimentally,theoretically,and numerically.The aim of this review is to discuss the novel development and the state-of-the-art in experimental techniques,theories,and numerical approaches proposed for rockburst.The definition and classification of rockburst are first summarized with an in-depth comparison among them.Then,the available laboratory experimental technologies for rockburst are reviewed in terms of indirect and direct approaches,with the highlight of monitoring technologies and data analysis methods.Some key rockburst influencing factors(i.e.size and shape,rock types,stress state,water content,and temperature)are analyzed and discussed based on collected data.After that,rockburst theories and mechanisms are discussed and evaluated,as well as the microscopic observation.The simulation approaches of rockburst are also summarized with the highlight of optional novel numerical methods.The accuracy,stability,and reliability of different experimental,theoretical and numerical approaches are also compared and assessed in each part.Finally,a summary and some aspects of prospective research are presented.Manchao He Tai Cheng Yafei Qiao Hongru Li 2023Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,5:6

12Dependence of nitrogen concentration in type Ib diamonds on synthesis temperature显示文摘Type Ib diamonds were grown by the temperature gradient method (TGM) at 5.5 GPa and 1500-1560 K in a china-type cubic anvil high pressure apparatus using Ni70Mn25Co5 alloy as solvent/catalyst. The concentration of nitrogen (CN) in type Ib diamonds synthesized at different synthesis temperatures was measured by a Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. The dependence of CN in diamond on synthesis temperature was studied. 13Highly Enhanced Visible-Light-Driven Photoelectrochemical Performance of ZnO-Modified In_2S_3 Nanosheet Arrays by Atomic Layer Deposition显示文摘Photoanodes based on In_2S_3/ZnO heterojunction nanosheet arrays(NSAs) have been fabricated by atomic layer deposition of ZnO over In_2S_3 NSAs, which were in situ grown on fluorine-doped tin oxide glasses via a facile solvothermal process. The as-prepared photoanodes show dramatically enhanced performance for photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting, compared to single semiconductor counterparts. The optical and PEC properties of In_2S_3/ZnO NSAs have been optimized by modulating the thickness of the Zn O overlayer. After pairing with ZnO, the NSAs exhibit a broadened absorption range and an increased light absorptance over a wide wavelength region of 250–850 nm. The optimized sample of In_2S_3/ZnO-50 NSAs shows a photocurrent density of 1.642 m A cm^(-2)(1.5 V vs. RHE) and an incident photonto-current efficiency of 27.64% at 380 nm(1.23 V vs.RHE), which are 70 and 116 times higher than those of the pristine In_2S_3 NSAs, respectively. 14Facile fabrication of MoP nanodots embedded in porous carbon as excellent anode material for potassium-ion batteries显示文摘Molybdenum phosphide(MoP),owing to its abundant reserve and high theoretical capacity,is regarded as a promising anode material for potassium-ion batteries.However,it still suffers from the problems of acute volume expansion and weak diffusion kinetics.This study reports a simple method to synthesize a composite of molybdenum phosphide and porous carbon(MoP@PC)through simple mixing and annealing treatment.In the MoP@PC,lots of MoP nanodots with an average diameter of about 4 nm uniformly embedded in the petal-like porous carbon.The MoP@PC shows reversible capacities of 330 mAh g^(-1) at100 mA g^(-1) after 100 cycles,and ultra-long cycling stability with a capacity of 240 mAh g^(-1) after 1000 cycles at 1 A g^(-1) and 161 mAh g^(-1) after 1000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).The structure of MoP@PC after charging-discharging cycles is also investigated by high resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM)and the result shows that MoP can still maintain the nanodot morphology without any agglomeration after 1000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).The storage mechanism of potassium ions was studied as well,which reveals that MoP and potassium ion have a conversion reaction.Zhanheng Yan Zhongyuan Huang Haihui Zhou Xinxin Yang Songlin Li Wenlong Zhang Fei Wang Yafei Kuang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:5
15Discrimination of False Negative Results in RT-PCR Detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in Clinical Specimens by Using an Internal Reference显示文摘Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)is an essential method for specific diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.Unfortunately,false negative test results are often reported.In this study,we attempted to determine the principal causes leading to false negative results of RT-PCR detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in respiratory tract specimens.Multiple sputum and throat swab specimens from 161 confirmed COVID-19 patients were tested with a commercialfluorescent RT-PCR kit targeting the ORF1 ab and N regions of SARS-CoV-2 genome.The RNA level of a cellular housekeeping gene ribonuclease P/MRP subunit p30(RPP30)in these specimens was also assessed by RT-PCR.Data for a total of 1052 samples were retrospectively re-analyzed and a strong association between positive results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA tests and high level of RPP30 RNA in respiratory tract specimens was revealed.By using the ROC-AUC analysis,we identified Ct cutoff values for RPP30 RT-PCR which predicted false negative results for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR with high sensitivity(95.03%–95.26%)and specificity(83.72%–98.55%)for respective combination of specimen type and ampli-fication reaction.Using these Ct cutoff values,false negative results could be reliably identified.Therefore,the presence of cellular materials,likely infected host cells,are essential for correct SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection by RT-PCR in patient specimens.RPP30 could serve as an indicator for cellular content,or a surrogate indicator for specimen quality.In addition,our results demonstrated that false negativity accounted for a vast majority of contradicting results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA test by RT-PCR.Yafei Zhang Changtai Wang Mingfeng Han Jun Ye Yong Gao Zhongping Liu Tengfei He Tuantuan Li Mengyuan Xu Luping Zhou Guizhou Zou Mengji Lu Zhenhua Zhang 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,6:5
16Noise-like pulse generation from a thulium-doped fiber laser using nonlinear polarization rotation with different net anomalous dispersion显示文摘A mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser(TDFL) based on nonlinear polarization rotation(NPR) with different net anomalous dispersion is demonstrated. When the cavity dispersion is-1.425 ps^2, the noise-like(NL) pulse with coherence spike width of 406 fs and pulse energy of 12.342 nJ is generated at a center wavelength of 2003.2 nm with 3 dB spectral bandwidth of 23.20 nm. 19Evolution of dielectric loss-dominated electromagnetic patterns in magnetic absorbers for enhanced microwave absorption performances显示文摘As the growing criterion of electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials, micro/nano-scale magnetic materials are drawing more and more attention for their unique features compared to bulky absorbers. Generally, the complex permeability of micro/nano-scale magnetic absorbers varies in a relatively narrow range, whatever for the storage of magnetic energy or the dissipation of magnetic energy. If so, how the small variation of permeability affects the ultimate performances is still unclear. Here, a strategy of electromagnetic parameters regulation for the magnetic materials is applied to understand the loss contribution in micro/nanoscale magnetic absorbers. After analyzing the evolution of electromagnetic maps of ten ferrosoferric oxide samples, it can be found that the dissipation contribution of permeability for magnetic materials is weaker than that of permittivity, in spite of its significant role in determining the impedance matching characteristics. 20Sintilimab for relapsed/refractory extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma: a multicenter, single-arm, phase 2 trial (ORIENT-4)显示文摘This study(ORIENT-4)aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of sintilimab,a humanized anti-PD-1 antibody,in patients with relapsed/refractory extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma(r/r ENKTL).ORIENT-4 is a multicenter,single-arm,phase 2 clinical trial(NCT03228836).Patients with r/r ENKTL who failed to at least one asparaginase-based regimen were enrolled to receive sintilimab 200 mg intravenously every 3 weeks for up to 24 months.The primary endpoint was the objective response rate(ORR)based on Lugano 2014 criteria.Twenty-eight patients with r/r ENKTL were enrolled from August 31,2017 to February 7,2018.Twenty-one patients(75.0%,95%CI:55.1–89.3%)achieved an objective response.With a median follow-up of 30.4 months,the median overall survival(OS)was not reached.The 24-month OS rate was 78.6%(95%CI,58.4–89.8%).Most treatment-related adverse events(TRAEs)were grade 1–2(71.4%),and the most common TRAE was decreased lymphocyte count(42.9%).Serious adverse events(SAEs)occurred in 7(25.0%)patients,and no patient died of adverse events.Sintilimab is effective and well tolerated in patients with r/r ENKTL and could be a novel therapeutic approach for the control of ENKTL in patients.Rong Tao Lei Fan Yongping Song Yu Hu Wei Zhang Yafei Wang Wei Xu Jianyong Li 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,11:4
