1Far-field coseismic displacements associated with the 2011 Tohoku-oki earthquake in Japan observed by Global Positioning System显示文摘Analysis of GEONET observations covering the entire territory of Japan shows that the great Tohoku-oki earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011 off the east coast of Honshu in Japan caused an eastward movement of the northern part of the island by as much as 5.3 m. The GPS data from TEONET in China were used to derive far-field coseismic displacements and to assess the impact of the Tohoku-oki earthquake on crustal deformation in eastern China. The results reveal that the coseismic horizontal displacements induced by the earthquake are the level of millimeters to centimeters in North and Northeast China, with a maximum of 35 mm. Strain analysis also indicates that the earthquake resulted in an increase in the tensile strain on the north-northeast trending faults in North and Northeast China. The tensile strain imposed on the Yilan-Yitong and Dunhua-Mishan faults is more significant than that imposed on the faults in North China; the maximum normal strain reaches about 40 nano-strain. 2Stenting for symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis in China:1-year outcome of a multicentre registry study显示文摘background and purpose A multicentre prospective registry study of individually tailored stenting for a patient with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS)combined with poor collaterals in China showed that the short-term safety and efficacy of stenting was acceptable.However,it remained uncertain whether the low event rate could be of a long term.We reported the 1-year outcome of this registry study to evaluate the long-term efficacy of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.Methods Patients with symptomatic ICAS caused by 70%-99% stenosis located at the intracranial internal carotid,middle cerebral,intracranial vertebral or basilar arteries combined with poor collaterals were enrolled.Balloon-mounted stent or balloon plus self-expanding stent were selected based on the ease of vascular access and lesion morphology determined by the operators.The primary outcome was the rate of 30-day stroke,transient ischaemic attack and death,and 12-month ischaemic stroke within the same vascular territory,haemorrhagic stroke and vascular death after stenting.results From September 2013 to January 2015,300 patients(ages 58.3±9.78 years)were recruited.Among them,159 patients were treated with balloon-mounted stent and 141 with balloon plus self-expanding stent.During the 1-year follow-up,25 patients had a primary end point event.The probability of primary outcome at 1 year was 8.1%(95% CI 5.3% to 11.7%).In 76 patients with digital subtraction angiography follow-up,27.6%(21/76)had re-stenosis≥50% and 18.4%(14/76)had re-stenosis≥70%.No baseline characteristic was associated with the primary outcome.Conclusion The event rate remains low over 1 year of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.Further randomised trial of comparing individually tailored stenting with best medical therapy is needed.Ning Ma Yong Zhang Jie Shuai Changchun Jiang Qiyi Zhu Kangning Chen Li Liu Baomin Li Xiangqun Shi Lianbo Gao Yajie Liu Feng Wang Yongli Li Tieyan Liu Hongbo Zheng Dapeng Mo Feng Gao Yilong Wang Yongjun Wang Lei Feng Zhongrong Miao 2018Stroke & Vascular Neurology2018,3,3:29

5KIF2C:a novel link between Wnt/β-catenin and mTORCI signaling in the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common primary liver malignancy and is the fourth-leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.HCC is refractory to many standard cancer treatments and the prognosis is often poor,highlighting a pressing need to identify biomarkers of aggressiveness and potential targets for future treatments.Kinesin family member 2C(KIF2C)is reported to be highly expressed in several human tumors.Nevertheless,the molecular mechanisms underlying the role of KIF2C in tumor development and progression have not been investigated.In this study,we found that KIF2C expression was significantly upregulated in HCC,and that KIF2C up-regulation was associated with a poor prognosis.Utilizing both gain and loss of function assays,we showed that KIF2C promoted HCC cell proliferation,migration,invasion,and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistically,we identified TBC1D7 as a binding partner of KIF2C,and this interaction disrupts the formation of the TSC complex,resulting in the enhancement of mammalian target of rapamycin complexl(mTORCI)signal transduction.Additionally,we found that KIF2C is a direct target of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway,and acts as a key factor in mediating the crosstalk between Wnt/β-catenin and mTORCI signaling.Thus,the results of our study establish a link between Wnt/β-catenin and mTORCI signaling,which highlights the potential of KIF2C as a therapeutic target for the treatment of HCC.Shi Wei Miaomiao Dai Chi Zhang Kai Teng Fengwei Wang Hongbo Li Weipeng Sun Zihao Feng Tiebang Kang Xinyuan Guan Ruihua Xu Muyan Cai Dan Xie 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,10:8

7The Interplay between Artificial Intelligence and Fog Radio Access Networks显示文摘The interplay between artificial intelligence(AI) and fog radio access networks(F-RANs) is investigated in this work from two perspectives: how F-RANs enable hierarchical AI to be deployed in wireless networks and how AI makes F-RANs smarter to better serve mobile devices. Due to the heterogeneity of processing capability, the cloud, fog, and device layers in F-RANs provide hierarchical intelligence via centralized, distributed, and federated learning. In addition, cross-layer learning is also introduced to further reduce the demand for the memory size of the mobile devices. On the other hand, AI provides F-RANs with technologies and methods to deal with massive data and make smarter decisions. Specifically, machine learning tools such as deep neural networks are introduced for data processing, while reinforcement learning(RL) algorithms are adopted for network optimization and decisions. 8Delay-Based User Association in Heterogeneous Networks with Backhaul显示文摘The Internet of things(IoT) as an important application of future communication networks puts a high premium on delay issues. Thus when Io T applications meet heterogeneous networks(HetNets) where macro cells are overlaid with small cells, some traditional problems need rethinking. In this paper, we investigate the delay-addressed association problem in two-tier Het Nets considering different backhaul technologies. Specifically, millimeter wave and fiber links are used to provide high-capacity backhaul for small cells. We first formulate the user association problem to minimize the total delay which depends on the probability of successful transmission, the number of user terminals(UTs), and the number of base stations(BSs). And then two algorithms for active mode and mixed mode are proposed to minimize the network delay. Simulation results show that algorithms based on mutual selection between UTs and BSs have better performance than those based on distance. 9Orthogonal nonnegative matrix factorization based local hidden Markov model for multimode process monitoring显示文摘Traditional data driven fault detection methods assume that the process operates in a single mode so that they cannot perform well in processes with multiple operating modes. To monitor multimode processes effectively,this paper proposes a novel process monitoring scheme based on orthogonal nonnegative matrix factorization(ONMF) and hidden Markov model(HMM). The new clustering technique ONMF is employed to separate data from different process modes. The multiple HMMs for various operating modes lead to higher modeling accuracy.The proposed approach does not presume the distribution of data in each mode because the process uncertainty and dynamics can be well interpreted through the hidden Markov estimation. The HMM-based monitoring indication named negative log likelihood probability is utilized for fault detection. In order to assess the proposed monitoring strategy, a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman process are used. 10Research on variety characteristics of China's Mainland troposphere based on CMONOC显示文摘In this research, we processed the GPS and meteorological data from about 220 stations of Crustal Movement Observation Network of China(CMONOC) observed in 2014 and derived the Zenith Total Delay(ZTD) map in both spatial and temporal dimension. The results of ZTD have high accurate and reliable as IGS and all sites with varying locations show obvious variety characteristics of Chinese mainland. Meanwhile, the precipitable water vapor(PWV) correlation coefficients between GPS observation and upper air sounding is close to 1, and the comparison of GPS-derived PWV and observed PWV from meteorological sites indicating GPS observation data generated in CMONOC project applied to the weather forecast research is feasible. In addition, based on all stations covered the whole Chinese land area and using interpolation algorithms, we make contour plots of PWV distribution per hour. We observe obvious feature that the precipitable water in north and western area is less than south and east area all over this year. 12Single-cell transcriptomic landscape of human blood cells显示文摘High throughput single-cell RNA-seq has been successfully implemented to dissect the cellular and molecular features underlying hematopoiesis.However,an elaborate and comprehensive transcriptome reference of the whole blood system is lacking.Here,we profiled the transcriptomes of 7551 human blood cells representing 32 immunophenotypic cell types,including hematopoietic stem cells,progenitors and mature blood cells derived from 21 healthy donors.With high sequencing depth and coverage,we constructed a single-cell transcriptional atlas of blood cells(ABC) on the basis of both protein-coding genes and long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs),and showed a high consistence between them.Notably,putative lncRNAs and transcription factors regulating hematopoietic cell differentiation were identified.While common transcription factor regulatory networks were activated in neutrophils and monocytes,lymphoid cells dramatically changed their regulatory networks during differentiation.Furthermore,we showed a subset of nucleated erythrocytes actively expressing immune signals,suggesting the existence of erythroid precursors with immune functions.Finally,a web portal offering transcriptome browsing and blood cell type prediction has been established.Thus,our work provides a transcriptional map of human blood cells at single-cell resolution,thereby offering a comprehensive reference for the exploration of physiological and pathological hematopoiesis.Xiaowei Xie Mengyao Liu Yawen Zhang Bingrui Wang Caiying Zhu Chenchen Wang Qing Li Yingying Huo Jiaojiao Guo Changlu Xu Linping Hu Aiming Pang Shihui Ma Una Wang Wenbin Cao Shulian Chen Qiuling Li Sudong Zhang Xueying Zhao Wen Zhou Hongbo Luo Guoguang Zheng Erlie Jiang Sizhou Feng Lixiang Chen Lihong Shi Hui Cheng Sha Hao Ping Zhu Tao Cheng 2021National Science Review2021,8,3:3
13Ionospheric total electron content disturbance associated with May 12, 2008,Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Possible ionospheric disturbances relating to the May 12, 2008, Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake were identified by Global Positioning System(GPS)-derived total electron content(TEC), ionosonde observations, the global ionospheric map(GIM), and electron density profiles detected by the Constellation Observation System for Meteorology Ionosphere and Climate(COSMIC).We applied a statistical test to detect anomalous TEC signals and found that a unique enhancement in TEC, recorded at 16 GPS stations, appeared on May 9, 2008. The critical frequency at F2 peak(f0F2), observed by the Chinese ionosondes, and maximal plasma frequency,derived from COSMIC data, revealed a characteristic similar to GPS TEC variations. The GIM showed that the anomalous variations of May 9 were located southeast of the epicenter. Using GPS data from 13 stations near the epicenter, we analyzed the TEC variations of satellite orbit traces during 04:00e11:00 UT. We found that TEC decreased to the east and increased to the southeast of the epicenter during this period. 14Large System Analysis of Downlink C-RAN with Phase Noise and Fronthaul Compression显示文摘This paper studies the effect of phase noise and fronthaul compression on a downlink cloud radio access network(C-RAN), where several remote radio heads(RRHs) are coordinated to communicate with users by a baseband unit(BBU) on the cloud server. In the system, the baseband signals are precoded at BBU, and then compressed before being transmitted to RRHs through capacity-limited fronthaul links which results in the compressive quantization noise. We assume the regularized zero-forcing precoding is performed with an imperfect channel state information and a compression strategy is applied at BBU. The effect of phase noise arising from nonideal local oscillators both at RRHs and users is considered. We propose an approximate expression for the downlink ergodic sum-rate of considered C-RAN utilizing large dimensional random matrix theory in the large-system regime. 19In vitro assay of cytoskeleton nanomechanics as a tool for screening potential anticancer effects of natural plant extract, tubeimoside I on human hepatoma (HepG2) cells显示文摘Cytoskeleton nanomechanics characterizes cancer cell's physical behaviors such as how it spread and invade. For anticancer drug, cytoskeleton nanomechanics may be a target to inhibit invasiveness and metastasis of cancer cells. Therefore, in vitro assay of cytoskeleton nanomechanics may be used to evaluate the effects of potential anticancer drug on various cancer types. Here, we investigated the effects of tubeimoside I (TBMS I) on human hepatoma (HepG2) cells by using optical magnetic twisting cytometry, a well-established technique for measuring nanomechanics of the Factin cytoskeleton. TBMS I is a natural compound extracted from a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and is reported with antitumor effect. In this study, we demonstrated that the cytoskeleton stiffness (G) of HepG2 cells was affected by TBMS I. G′ exhibited a typical power law with respect to the loading frequency (f), i.e. G^f . The magnitude of G′ and the value of exponent (α) of the HepG2 cells decreased consistently with the increase of concentration for TBMS I exposure. In addition, the HepG2 cells responded to TBMS I much faster than the normal liver (L-02) cells. Such alteration of cytoskeleton nanomechanics induced by TBMS I was reported for the first time, which was further corroborated by assays of Factin cytoskeleton structure and cell migration.
