Research and application of methods for effectiveness evaluation of mine cooling system显示文摘Regarding the complexity and inconsistency of results in existing evaluation methods of mine cooling system, this paper clarifies the advantages, disadvantages and application of various mine cooling systems through principle analysis, and divides all the cooling systems into air-cooling, ice-cooling and water-cooling according to the transportation of cold energy. On this basis, the paper proposes a simple and efficient evaluation method for mine cooling system. The first index of this method is the air temperature at point C which is 15 m away from the return wind corner at working face. A cooling system will be judged ineligible if the air temperature at point C is above 30 °C during operation, because in this case, the combustible gases in coal will sharply overflow, inducing gas incidents. Based on the preliminary judgment of the first index, another two evaluation indexes are proposed based on the cooling ability and dehumidification of an airflow volume of 1000 m3/min at point C to evaluate the investment and operation cost of mine cooling system. This evaluation method has already been successfully applied in the cooling system design of Zhangshuanglou coal mine. | Guo Pingye Wang Yanwei Duan Mengmeng Pang Dongyang Li Nan | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,4: | 7
Comparison of the inhibition potentials of icotinib and erlotinib against human UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1显示文摘UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1(UGT1A1) plays a key role in detoxification of many potentially harmful compounds and drugs. UGT1A1 inhibition may bring risks of drug–drug interactions(DDIs), hyperbilirubinemia and drug-induced liver injury. This study aimed to investigate and compare the inhibitory effects of icotinib and erlotinib against UGT1A1, as well as to evaluate their potential DDI risks via UGT1A1 inhibition. The results demonstrated that both icotinib and erlotinib are UGT1A1 inhibitors, but the inhibitory effect of icotinib on UGT1A1 is weaker than that of erlotinib. The IC_(50) values of icotinib and erlotinib against UGT1A1-mediated NCHN-O-glucuronidation in human liver microsomes(HLMs) were 5.15 and 0.68 μmol/L, respectively. Inhibition kinetic analyses demonstrated that both icotinib and erlotinib were non-competitive inhibitors against UGT1A1-mediated glucuronidation of NCHN in HLMs, with the Kivalues of 8.55 and 1.23 μmol/L, respectively. Furthermore, their potential DDI risks via UGT1A1 inhibition were quantitatively predicted by the ratio of the areas under the concentration–time curve(AUC) of NCHN. These findings are helpful for the medicinal chemists todesign and develop next generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors with improved safety, as well as to guide reasonable applications of icotinib and erlotinib in clinic, especially for avoiding their potential DDI risks via UGT1A1 inhibition. | Xuewei Cheng Xia Lv Hengyan Qu Dandan Li Mengmeng Hu Wenzhi Guo Guangbo Ge Ruihua Dong | 2017 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2017,7,6: | 7
Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of Panda X-4 T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 × 10^(-48) cm^2 at a dark matter mass of 40 Ge V/c^2. | HongGuang Zhang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui BinBin Dong DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo ZhiFan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He ShengMing He Di Huang XingTao Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju ShaoLi Li Yao Li Heng Lin HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu YuGang Ma YaJun Mao KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XiangXiang Ren Fang Shi AnDi Tan AnQing Wang Cheng Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang XuMing Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu JuMin Yuan JianFeng Yue Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,3: | 6
Effect of Wuziyanzong pill on levels of sex hormones, and expressions of nuclear- associated antigen Ki-67 and androgen receptor in testes of young rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of Wuziyanzong pill on the levels of serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), testosterone(T) and the expressions of nuclear-associated antigen Ki67(Ki67), androgen receptor(AR) in testes of young rats.METHODS: Sixteen 20-day-old Wistar male rats were randomly divided into control and treatment group(n = 8). Rats in treatment group were administered Wuziyanzong pill by gavage; rats in control group administered the same volume of saline. After 10 days of treatment, the rats were killed, and then serum and testes were taken. The levels of FSH, LH and T were measured by radioimmunoassay(RIA). The histology of seminiferous tubule was observed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining. The expression of Ki67 was detected by immunohistochemical assay(IHC). The m RNA level of Ki67, ARand CK-18 was detected with quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(Q-RT-PCR), the protein level of AR and CK-18 were tested by Western blot.RESULTS: Compared with control group, T level in treatment group increased significantly(P < 0.05).HE staining showed that both leydig cells and germ cells increased in treatment group. Expressions of Ki67 and AR became higher after treatment. There were no changes in CK-18 expression.CONCLUSION: Wuziyanzong pill can up-regulate AR level to promote germ cell proliferation and differentiation in young male rats. | He Mengmeng Wang Lijun Chen Yinghui Zhang Tingting Guo JianHe | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,6: | 6
Regulative effect of Taohong Siwu decoction(桃红四物汤) on extracellular matrix of endometrium in drug-induced abortion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of Taohong Siwu decoction(桃红四物汤, THSWD) on the extracellular matrix of endometrium in rats following drug-induced abortion.METHODS: Thirty-six pregnant female rats were administered mifepristone and misoprostol to induce abortion, and amounts of uterine bleeding were recorded. Pathological damage and collagen accumulation were detected by hematoxylin-eosin staining and Masson’s trichrome staining in uterus, respectively. Myeloperoxidase was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. The expression levels of fibronectin, laminin, matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9), and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1(TIMP-1) were quantified using western blotting.RESULTS: THSWD could promote endometrial protection in rats following drug-induced abortion. The contents of cellulose and myeloperoxidase were significantly decreased in uterine tissue of THSWD-treated groups. Moreover, THSWD significantly decreased the expression levels of fibronectin, laminin, and TIMP-1. THSWD also significantly increased MMP-9 expression and the MMP-9/TIMP-1 ratio.CONCLUSION: THSWD plays a critical role in endometrial protection by reducing extracellular matrix deposition and uterine fibrosis. These effects may have been achieved by increasing MMP-9, reducing TIMP-1, and/or altering the ratio of MMP-9/TIMP-1. | WANG Mengmeng GUO Dongdong HAN Lan PENG Daiyin CHEN Weidong ZHANG Yanyan | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,1: | 5
Composition-dependent micro-structure and photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS2 heterojunction显示文摘Semiconductor combination is one of the most common strategies to obtain high-efficiency photocatalysts;however, the effect mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity is remaining unclear. In this study, a case of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS_(2) (CNQDn@SnS_(2)) heterojunction with different ratio of CNQD is used to uncover the origin of optimum and excess composition for photocatalysts. Research on the functional mechanism of the optimum composition shows that 0.8 wt.% CNQD are completely attached to the non-(001) facets of SnS_(2), which benefits the formation of type-II heterojunction, resulting in an optimal pollutant degradation and mineralization efficiency. For the excess composition, both experiments and theoretical calculations confirm that excess CNQD (the part exceeding of 0.8 wt.%) located on the (001) facet of SnS_(2), leading to the type-I band alignment of this heterojunction, which severely restricts the separation of photo-induced charge carriers, and thus reduces their lifetime. This work makes the functional mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity clearer. Related research results provide a new insight into semiconductor combination study and take an important step toward the rational design of highly active photocatalysts. | Sheng-Qi Guo Haijun Zhang Zhenzhong Hu Mengmeng Zhen Bo Yang Boxiong Shen Fan Dong | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,11: | 4
Microcavity top-emission perovskite light-emitting diodes显示文摘Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)based on perovskites show great potential in lighting and display applications. However, although perovskite films with high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies are commonly achieved, the efficiencies of perovskite LEDs are largely limited by the low light out-coupling efficiency. Here,we show that high-efficiency perovskite LEDs with a high external quantum efficiency of 20.2% and an ultrahigh radiant exitance up to 114.9mWcm^(−2) can be achieved by employing the microcavity effect to enhance light extraction. The enhanced microcavity effect and light outcoupling efficiency are confirmed by the study of angle-dependent emission profiles. Our results show that both the optical and electrical properties of the device need to be optimized to achieve high-performance perovskite LEDs. | Yanfeng Miao Lu Cheng Wei Zou Lianghui Gu Ju Zhang Qiang Guo Qiming Peng Mengmeng Xu Yarong He Shuting Zhang Yu Cao Renzhi Li Nana Wang Wei Huang Jianpu Wang | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 4
The role and its mechanism of intermittent fasting in tumors:friend or foe?显示文摘Intermittent fasting(IF)is becoming a prevailing topic worldwide,as it can cause changes in the body’s energy metabolism processes, improve health, and affect the progression of many diseases, particularly in the circumstance of oncology.Recent research has shown that IF can alter the energy metabolism of tumor cells, thereby inhibiting tumor growth and improving antitumor immune responses.Furthermore,IF can increase cancer sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiotherapy and reduce the side effects of these traditional anticancer treatments.IF is therefore emerging as a promising approach to clinical cancer treatment. However, the balance between long-term benefits of IF compared with the harm from insufficient caloric intake is not well understood. In this article,we review the role of IF in tumorigenesis and tumor therapy, and discuss some scientific problems that remain to be clarified, which might provide some assistance in the application of IF in clinical tumor therapy. | Xu Zhao Jing Yang Ruoyu Huang Mengmeng Guo Ya Zhou Lin Xu | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 3
CLE14 functions as a 'brake signal' to suppress age-dependent and stress-induced leaf senescence by promoting JUB1-mediated ROS scavenging in Arabidopsis显示文摘Leaf senescence is an important developmental process in the plant life cycle and has a significant impact on agriculture. When facing harsh environmental conditions, monocarpic plants often initiate early leaf senes-cence as an adaptive mechanism to ensure a complete life cycle.Upon initiation, the senescence process is fine-tuned through the coordination of both positive and negative regulators. Here,we report that the small secreted peptide CLAVATA3/ESR-RELATED 14(CLE14)functions in the suppression of leaf senescence by regulating ROS homeostasis in Arabidopsis.Expression of the CLE14-encoding gene in leaves was signifi-cantly induced by age, high salinity, abscisic acid(ABA),salicylic acid, and jasmonic acid.CLE14 knockout plants displayed accelerated progression of both natural and salinity-induced leaf senescence, whereas increased CLE14 expression or treatments with synthetic CLE14 peptides delayed senescence.CLE14 pep-tide treatments also delayed ABA-induced senescence in detached leaves.Further analysis showed that over-expression of CLE14 led to reduced.ROS levels in leaves, where higher expression of ROS scavenging genes was detected.Moreover,CLE14 signaling resulted in transcriptional activation of JUB1,a NAC family tran-scription factor previously identified as a negative regulator of senescence.Notably, the delay of leaf senes-cence,reduction in H202 level, and activation of ROS scavenging genes by CLE14 peptides were dependent on JUB1.Collectively,these results suggest that the small peptide CLE14 serves as a novel'brake signal'to regulate age-dependent and stress-induced leaf senescence through JUB1-mediated ROS scavenging. | Zenglin Zhang Cheng Liu Kui Li Xiaoxu Li Mengmeng Xu Yongfeng Guo | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,1: | 3

Structure-activity relationship optimization for lassa virus fusion inhibitors targeting the transmembrane domain of GP2显示文摘Dear Editor,Lassa virus(LASV)belongs to the Mammarenavirus genus,Arenaviridae family.Arenaviruses are classified into two main groups-Old World(OW)and New World(NW)-based on virus genetics, serology, antigenic properties and geographical relationships. The OW LASV and Lujo virus(LUJV),as well as NW Jurn'n virus(JUNV),Machupo virus(MACV),Guanarito virus(GTOV),Sabia virus(SABV)and Chapare virus(CHAPV),are known to cause severe hemorrhagic fever and are listed as biosafety level 4(BSL-4)agents.The arenavirus glycoprotein complex(GPC)contains three subunits-the retained stable-signal peptide(SSP),the receptor-binding subunit GP1,and the membrane fusion subunit GP2(Lenz et al.,2001).Notably,the proximate external membrane region and TM of GP2,together with the ectodomain loop and TMs of SSP,form an SSP-GP2 interface, playing essential roles in regulating membrane fusion, and providing targets for distinct fusion inhibitors(Larson et al.,2008;Lee et al.,2008;York et al.,2008;York and Nunberg,2009;Thomas et al.,2011;Burgeson et al.,2013a;Shankar et al.,2016;Wang et al.,2016;Wang et al.,2018).Among these inhibitors,ST-161 is LASV specific(Burgeson et al.,2013a).In this study,we conducted structure-activity relationship(SAR)optimization of ST-161.As a result,21 derivatives with IC50 values<1 pmol/L are presented in Table S1.Hit compounds 21,29 and 57 exhibiting robust inhibition of the LASV pseudotype virus(LASVpv,VSV backbone enveloped by LASV GPC with single cycle infection)entry with IC50 values lower than 0.2 nmol/L(Figs.1A and S1),as well as hit compound 72 with an ester bond instead of acylhydrazone, were further investigated. To test whether the four hit compounds inhibit LASV entry by blocking the GPC-mediated membrane fusion, the inhibition effects of these compounds against LASV GPC mediated fusion were quantitatively determined by dual-luciferase assay(Thomas et al.,2011;Wang et al.,2018). | Guangshun Zhang Junyuan Cao Yan Cai Yang Liu Yanli Li Peilin Wang Xiaoying Jia Mengmeng Zhang Gengfu Xiao Yu Guo Wei Wang | 2019 | Protein & Cell2019,10,2: | 3
Spatio-temporal Evolution and Driving Factors of the High-quality Development of Provincial Tourism in China显示文摘Accelerating the promotion of high-quality development of tourism(HQDT) is of great significance to the sustainable development of tourism. This paper defined the concept of HQDT, and then built an evaluation system for HQDT measurement to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of China’s HQDT based on provincial panel data from 2010 to 2019, using Geodetector to explore the similarities and differences between driving factors of HQDT and tourism development scale(TDS). The results show that:1) Taking the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing as the guidance, and considering the organic unity of quantity and quality, the evaluation index system of the HQDT consists of six dimensions of economic stability, innovation driving, coordination and linkage, green and sustainability, openness and cooperation, and sharing and harmony, which respectively represent the basis, momentum, means, orientation, direction and purpose of the HQDT;2) The level of China’s HQDT shows an upward trend, presenting the characteristics of eastern region > central region > western region > northeastern region in 2019. The regional differences in China’s HQDT show a downward trend, and the intra-regional differences have replaced the inter-regional differences as the main source of regional differences;3) China’s HQDT shows the characteristics of higher in the east and lower in the west along the Hu line, while the improvement speed of HQDT shows the characteristics of faster in the west and slower in the east, making the decline of east-west differentiation of China’s HQDT and the movement of the gravity center towards southwest;4) Both HQDT and TDS are obviously driven by tourism capital investment and regional consumption. In terms of differences, the HQDT is more driven by government guidance, innovation driving force, and opening up, while the main driving factors of TDS are more biased toward capital elements and hardware facilities, including informatization, tourism resource, traffic, and eco-environment. | WANG Xinyue WANG Mengmeng LU Xuejing GUO Lizhen ZHAO Ruixin JI Ranran | 2022 | Chinese Geographical Science2022,32,5: | 2
BmCH25H,a vertebrate interferon-stimulated gene(ISG)homolog, inhibits BmNPV infection dependent on its hydroxylase activity in Bombyx mori显示文摘Cholesterol-25-hydroxylase(CH25H)has been identified as an interferon-stimulated gene(ISG)in mammals that exerts its antiviral effects by catalyzing the conversion of cholesterol to 25-hydroxycholesterol(25HC).However,invertebrates lack an antiviral system homologous to vertebrate interferons(IFNs)because the genomes of invertebrates do not encode IFN-like cytokines.Nevertheless,CH25H is present in insect genomes and it therefore deserves further study of whether and by which mechanism it could exert an antiviral effect in invertebrates. In this study, the Bombyx mori CH25H(BmCH25H)gene,of which the encoded protein has high homology with other lepidopteran species, was identified and located on chromosome 9.Interestingly,we found that the expression of BmCH25H was significantly upregulated in B.mori nucleopolyhedrovirus(BmNPV)-infected BmN cells and silkworm(B.mori)larvae at the early infection stage. The inhibitory effect of BmCH25H on BmNPV replication was further demonstrated to depend on its catalytic residues to convert cholesterol to 25HC.More importantly,we demonstrated that during BmNPV infection,BmCH25H expression was increased through the Janus kinase–signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK–STAT)pathway, similar to the induction of ISGs following virus infection in vertebrates. This is the first report that CH25H has antiviral effects in insects;the study also elucidates the regulation of its expression and its mechanism of action. | Hongyun Wu Junming Xia Shigang Fei Yeyuan Wang Mengmeng Zhang Yiyao Guo Xian Li Luc Swevers Jingchen Sun Min Feng | 2023 | Insect Science2023,30,2: | 2
Single-molecule optoelectronic devices:physical mechanism and beyond显示文摘Single-molecule devices not only promise to provide an alternative strategy to break through the miniaturization and functionalization bottlenecks faced by traditional semiconductor devices, but also provide a reliable platform for exploration of the intrinsic properties of matters at the single-molecule level.Because the regulation of the electrical properties of single-molecule devices will be a key factor in enabling further advances in the development of molecular electronics,it is necessary to clarify the interactions between the charge transport occurring in the device and the external fields, particularly the optical field. This review mainly introduces the optoelectronic effects that are involved in single-molecule devices, including photoisomerization switching,photoconductance,plasmon-induced excitation, photovoltaic effect, and electroluminescence. We also summarize the optoelectronic mechanisms of single-molecule devices, with particular emphasis on the photoisomerization, photoexcitation, and photo-assisted tunneling processes. Finally,we focus the discussion on the opportunities and challenges arising in the single-molecule optoelectronics field and propose further possible breakthroughs. | Peihui Li Yijian Chen Boyu Wang Mengmeng Li Dong Xiang Chuancheng Jia Xuefeng Guo | 2022 | Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,5: | 2
Suitable lithium polysulfides diffusion and adsorption on CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze nanosheets surface for high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(UPSs)in lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)has been hampered their commercialization.Metal oxides as separator modifications can suppress the shuttle effect.Since there is no direct electron transport between metal oxides and UPSs,absorbed UPSs should be diffused from the surface of metal oxides to the carbon matrix to go through redox reactions. If diffusivity of UPSs from metal oxides surface to carbon substrate is poor,it would hinder the redox reactions of LiPSs.Nevertheless, researchers tend to focus on the adsorption and overlook the diffusion of UPSs.Herein, same morphology and different crystal phase of TiO_(2) nanosheets grown on carbon nanotubes(CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze and CNTs@TiO_(2)-anatase)have been designed via a simple approach.Compared with CNTs and CNTs@TiO_(2)-anatase composites, the battery with CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze modified separator delivers higher specific capacities and stronger cycling stability, especially at high current rates(~472 mAh·g^(-1) at 2.0 C after 1,000 cycles).Adsorption tests, density functional theory calculations and electrochemical performance evaluations indicate that suitable diffusion and adsorption for LiPSs on the CNTs@TiO_(2)-B surface can effectively capture LiPSs and promote the redox reaction, leading to the superior cycling performances. | Mengmeng Zhen Keliang Jiang Sheng-Qi Guo Boxiong Shen Huiling Liu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 2
Gut microbiota-derived metabolites contribute negatively to hindgut barrier function development at the early weaning goat model显示文摘Early weaning induces intestinal injury, leading to a series of long-term symptoms such as inflammation, malabsorption and diarrhea. In this study,we hypothesized that microbes and theirmetabolitesmodulate the host's inflammatory response to early weaning stress in a goatmodel.A total of 18 female Tibetan goat kids(n?9)wereweaned fromtheirmothers at 28 d(D28)and 60 d(D60)postpartum.D60 and D28 groupswere fed the same solid diet ad libitum fromweaning to 75 d of age.The colonic epithelium was subject to RNAsequencing, the caecal digesta metabolomics were assessed by liquid chromatographyetandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS),and the caecal microbiota composition was analysed by 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing. We foundthatearlyweaningsubstantially increased the colonic pro-apoptotic gene expressionof B-cell lymphoma associated X(Bax),caspase-9,and caspase-3,and decreased the expression of zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)and claudin-1(P<0.01).In addition,a significant Bacteroides acidifaciens enrichmentwas observed in the hindgut of early-weaned goats(P<0.01),which negatively correlated with lysophosphatidylcholine products.Similarly, the chemokine signaling,IL-17 signaling, and peroxisome proliferatorsactivated receptor(PPAR)signaling pathways were upregulated in the colonic mucosa of the early-weaned goats.By applying caecal microbiota transplantation from goats to defaunated C57/6J mice,we confirmed that caecalmicrobiota of D28 goat kids increased the relative abundance of B.acidifaciens and significantly upregulated the genes of Bax,G proteinecoupled receptor(GPR)109A,GPR 43,fatty acid binding protein 6,nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group H member 3,angiotensin converting enzyme 2,and IL-6 expression(P<0.05),and decreased ZO-1,and claudin-1 protein expression in the mice jejunum and colon(P<0.001).These results proposed that the hindgut microbiota andmetabolites mediate the barrier functionweakening duringearlyweaning, and the relative abundance of B.acidifacienswas negatively correlatedwiththe hindgut barrier gene expression. This studydemonstrateshowweaningstress canaffectkeyhostemicrobe interaction regulators in the hindgut,in a lysophosphatidylcholine dependent and independent manner.Furthermore, based on our mice data, these results are transferable to other mammal species. | Ke Zhang Yangbin Xu Yuxin Yang Mengmeng Guo Ting Zhang Bo Zong Shuhong Huang Langda Suo Baohua Ma Xiaolong Wang Yujiang Wu Daniel Brugger Yulin Chen | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,3: | 2

Propagation properties of foreshock cavitons: Cluster observations显示文摘Foreshock cavitons are transient phenomena observed in the terrestrial foreshock region. They are characterized by a simultaneous depression of magnetic field magnitude and plasma density, which are bounded with enhancements of these two parameters and surrounded by ultralow frequency(ULF)waves.Previous studies focused on the interplanetary magnetic field(IMF)conditions, solar wind(SW)conditions, and the growth of the foreshock waves related to the generation of foreshock cavitons.Previously,a multipoint spacecraft analysis method using Cluster data was applied to analyze only two foreshock cavitons, and this method did not consider uncertainties. In this study, multipoint spacecraft analysis methods, including the timing method, the minimum directional derivative(MDD)method, and the spatiotemporal difference(STD)method are applied to determine the velocity in both spacecraft and solar wind frames. The propagation properties show good agreement with previous results from simulations and observations that most cavitons move sunward in the solar wind frame, with the velocities larger than the Alfvén speed. The propagation properties of foreshock cavitons support the formation mechanism of cavitons in previous simulations, which suggested that cavitons are formed due to the nonlinear evolution of compressive ULF waves. We find that there is clear decreasing trend between the size of cavitons and their velocity in the solar wind frame. In addition, the timing method considering errors has been applied to study the evolution properties by comparing the velocities with errors of the leading and trailing edges, and we identify three stable cavitons and one contracting caviton, which has not been studied before. Most cavitons should remain stable when they travel toward the Earth’s bow shock. The relationship between the size of foreshock cavitons and their distance from the bow shock is also discussed. | WANG MengMeng YAO ShuTao SHI QuanQi ZHANG Hui TIAN AnMin DEGELING Alexander William ZHANG Shuai GUO RuiLong SUN WeiJie LIU Ji BAI ShiChen SHEN XiaoChen ZHU XiaoQiong FU SuiYan PU ZuYin | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,1: | 1
