| 2 | Zircon U-Pb geochronology of Archean high-grade metamorphic rocks from Xi Ulanbulang area,central Inner Mongolia显示文摘The early Precambrian high-grade metamorphosed basement in the Xi Ulanbulang area, central Inner Mongolia of China, is composed mainly of intermediate granulites and charnockitic gneisses. Both types of the rocks are closely associated spatially and temporally, with a gradual variation between them. In order to understand timing of the high-grade metamorphism, we carried out SHRIMP U-Pb dating of zircons of the rocks. Zircons from the granulites and charnockitic gneisses are similar in structure and age. Zircon cores show magmatic zoning and have ages of 2507-2545 Ma. The ages are interpreted as the forming time of protolith of the granulites and charnockitic gneisses, indicating that a strong magmatism existed at that time in the Yinshan Block. The zircon mantles and rims show homogeneous structures and record a strong granulite facies metamorphism event around 2500 Ma, with a time interval between the metamorphism and magamatism being less than 50 Ma. | 3 | Sinomenine ester derivative inhibits glioblastoma by inducing mitochondria-dependent apoptosis and autophagy by PI3K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathway显示文摘Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)in the central nervous system is the most lethal advanced glioma and currently there is no effective treatment for it.Studies of sinomenine,an alkaloid from the Chinese medicinal plant,Sinomenium acutum,showed that it had inhibitory effects on several kinds of cancer.Here,we synthesized a sinomenine derivative,sino-wcj-33(SW33),tested it for antitumor activity on GBM and explored the underlying mechanism.SW33 significantly inhibited proliferation and colony formation of GBM and reduced migration and invasion of U87 and U251 cells.It also arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase and induced mitochondria-dependent apoptosis.Differential gene enrichment analysis and pathway validation showed that SW33 exerted anti-GBM effects by regulating PI3 K/AKT and AMPK signaling pathways and significantly suppressed tumorigenicity with no obvious adverse effects on the body.SW33 also induced autophagy through the PI3 K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathways.Thus,SW33 appears to be a promising drug for treating GBM effectively and safely. | Xiangjin Zheng Wan Li Huanli Xu Jinyi Liu Liwen Ren Yihui Yang Sha Li Jinhua Wang Tengfei Ji Guanhua Du | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11: | 15 |
| 4 | Effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza on intestinal microflora in rats with ischemia/reperfusion liver injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury may induce intestinal microflora imbalance. Salvia miltiorrhiza is effective in promoting blood circulation and counteracting peroxidation in tissues. The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza on intestinal mi- croflora, endotoxemia, and bacterial translocation in rats with hepatic I/R injury. METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats in specific pathogen free grade were divided into 3 groups: group I(n =6) for sham operation: groups ( n = 7) for liver ische- mia for 20 minutes and reperfusion for 22 hours. Group was also pretreated with 4 ml/day of Salvia miltiorrhiza solu- tion (250 mg/kg) by daily gavage for 7 days. The levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate amino- transferase (AST), malondialdehyde ( MDA) and supero- xide dismutase ( SOD ) in liver tissues, serum endotoxin, intestinal bacterial counts, intestinal mucosal histology and bacterial translocation were studied. RESULTS: The levels of ALT, AST, plasma endotoxin and MDA in liver tissues were decreased more markedly in group (57.57 ± 18.08 U/L, 147.57 ±40.84 U/L, 0.42 ± 0.144 EU/ml and 0. 52 ±0.19 nmol/mg-prot respectively) in group 295.9±216.92 U/L, 0.80± 0.262 EU/ml and 0.72±0.12 nmol/mg-prot; P <0.05-0.01 respectively). Liver SOD activity was increased more sig- nificantly in group (318.47±64.62 U/mg-prot) than in group U/mg-prot, P<0.05). The counts of Bifidobacteria and Bacteroides increased more significantly in group than in group but were similar to those in group I. Bacterial translocation to the kidney in group was 50% (5/10), whereas no bacterial translocation to the kidney occurred in the other two groups (P <0. 01). | 6 | Cancer-associated fibroblasts in digestive tumors显示文摘The significant influence of tumor stroma on malignant cells has been extensively investigated in this era of targeted therapy.The tumor microenvironment,as a dynamic system,is orchestrated by various cells including tumor vascular composing cells,inflammatory cells and fibroblasts.As a major and important component in tumor stroma,increasing evidence has shown that spindle-shaped cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are a significant modifier of cancer evolution,and promote tumorigenesis,tumor invasion and metastasis by stimulating angiogenesis,malignant cell survival,epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and proliferation via direct cell-to-cell contact or secretion of soluble factors in most digestive solid tumors.CAFs are thought to be activated,characterized bythe expression ofα-smooth muscle actin,fibroblast activated protein,fibroblast specific protein,vimentin,fibronectin,etc.They are hypothesized to originate from normal or aged fibroblasts,bone marrow-derived mesenchymal cells,or vascular endothelial cells.EMT may also be an important process generating CAFs,and most probably,CAFs may originate from multiple cells.A close link exists between EMT,tumor stem cells,and chemo-resistance of tumor cells,which is largely orchestrated by CAFs.CAFs significantly induce immunosuppression,and may be a prognostic marker in various malignancies.Targeted therapy toward CAFs has displayed promising anticancer efficacy,which further reinforces the necessity to explore the relationship between CAFs and their hosts. | Lei Huang A-Man Xu Sha Liu Wei Liu Tuan-Jie Li | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,47: | 9 |

| 8 | Effects of Primary Annealing Condition on Recrystallization Texture in a Grain Oriented Silicon Steel显示文摘The recrystallization texture in grain oriented silicon steel sheets, which were annealed at different primary annealing temperatures with and without an electric field, was investigated. An automated electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) technique was used to analyze the recrystallization texture. It was found that recovery and application of electric field in primary annealing lead to an increase of {001} component and a decrease of {111} component after annealing at 900℃. | 9 | Gold nanoflowers for 3D volumetric molecular imaging of tumors by photoacoustic tomography显示文摘By binding molecular probes that target tumor cells, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with superior characteristics have shown great potential in tumor molecular imaging studies. The non-invasive, high-resolution, and three-dimensional imaging of the targeted AuNPs within the tumor is desirable for both diagnosis and therapy. In this study, gold nanoflowers (AuNFs) are presented as a novel contrast agent for photoacoustic tomography (PAT). By binding to folic acid, the molecular probe, the tail-vein injected AuNFs concentrated within the tumor site in mice; this was clearly visualized by three-dimensional (3D) PAT imaging. In addition, toxicity assay proved that AuNFs were harmless to living cells and animals. | 10 | NYD-SP27,a novel intrinsic decapacitation factor in sperm显示文摘Prior to fertilization sperm has to undergo an activation process known as capaciation,leading to the acrosome reaction.Till now,little is known about the mechanism for preventing premature capacitation in sperm although decapacitation factors from various sources have been thought to be involved.In this study,we report that NYD-SP27,an isoform of phospholipase C Zeta 1(PLCZ1),is localized to the sperm acrosome in mouse and human spermatozoa by immunofluorescence using a specific antibody.Western blot and double staining analyses show NYD-SP27 becomes detached from sperm,as they undergo capacitation and acrosome reaction.The absence of HCO_(3)^(-),a key factor in activating capacitation,from the capacitation-inducing medium prevents the loss of NYD-SP27 from sperm.The anti-NYD-SP27 antibody also prevents the loss of NYD-SP27 from sperm,reduced the number of capacitated sperm,inhibited the acrosome reaction induced by ATP and progesterone,and inhibited agonist-induced PLC-coupled Ca^(2+)mobilization in sperm,which can be mimicked by the PLC inhibitor,U73122.These data strongly suggest that NYD-SP27 is a physiological inhibitor of PLC that acts as an intrinsic decapacitation factor in sperm to prevent premature capacitation and acrosome reaction. | Ye Bi Wen-Ming Xu Hau Yan Wong Hui Zhu Zuo-Min Zhou Hsiao Chang Chan Jia-Hao Sha | 2009 | Asian Journal of Andrology2009,11,2: | 8 |

Among these, necroptosis, a regulatory caspase-independent, programmed cell death pathway, is supposed to be of importance in the pathogenesis of many diseases. The mechanism of regulating, inducing and blocking necroptosis is a complex process that involves expression and regulation of a series of molecules including receptor interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), RIPK3, and mixed lineage kinase like protein. By blocking or downregulating expression of key molecules in the necroptotic pathway, intestinal inflammation can be affected to some extent. | 13 | Manganese salts function as potent adjuvants显示文摘Aluminum-containing adjuvants have been used for nearly 100 years to enhance immune responses in billions of doses of vaccines.To date,only a few adjuvants have been approved for use in humans,among which aluminum-containing adjuvants are the only ones widely used.However,the medical need for potent and safe adjuvants is currently continuously increasing,especially those triggering cellular immune responses for cytotoxic T lymphocyte activation,which are urgently needed for the development of efficient virus and cancer vaccines.Manganese is an essential micronutrient required for diverse biological activities,but its functions in immunity remain undefined.We previously reported that Mn^(2+) is important in the host defense against cytosolic dsDNA by facilitating cGAS-STING activation and that Mn^(2+)alone directly activates cGAS independent of dsDNA,leading to an unconventional catalytic synthesis of 2′3′-cGAMP.Herein,we found that Mn^(2+) strongly promoted immune responses by facilitating antigen uptake,presentation,and germinal center formation via both cGAS-STING and NLRP3 activation.Accordingly,a colloidal manganese salt(Mn jelly,MnJ)was formulated to act not only as an immune potentiator but also as a delivery system to stimulate humoral and cellular immune responses,inducing antibody production and CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)T-cell proliferation and activation by either intramuscular or intranasal immunization.When administered intranasally,MnJ also worked as a mucosal adjuvant,inducing high levels of secretory IgA.MnJ showed good adjuvant effects for all tested antigens,including T cell-dependent and T cell-independent antigens,such as bacterial capsular polysaccharides,thus indicating that it is a promising adjuvant candidate. | Rui Zhang Chenguang Wang Yukun Guan Xiaoming Wei Mengyin Sha Mengran Yi Miao Jing Mengze Lv Wen Guo Jing Xu Yi Wan Xin-Ming Jia Zhengfan Jiang | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,5: | 7 |
| 14 | PIV EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH OF INSTANTANEOUS FLOW CHARACTERISTICS OF CIRCULAR ORIFICE SYNTHETIC JET显示文摘The instantaneous flow characteristics of circular orifice synthetic jet was experimentally studied by a phase-locked Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system. The instantaneous flowfields, including the forming, developing and breaking down of the vortex for the jet were clearly shown by the PIV experimental results. As the basis of the study of the instantaneous flow, 36 images were taken and phase-averaged for each condition. The PIV experiment was mainly focused on the time evolution of the vortex pairs formed in the push cycle, the saddle point existing in the suck cycle, the variation of the centerline velocity in the whole cycle and the cross-stream velocity profiles and their self-similarity. Finally, the orifice depth was changed from 1.5 mm to 2 mm and 3.5 mm in order to study the effect of different orifice depths on the flow structure, which shows that at all stream wise sections, the peak of the mass flux and momentum flux increases as the orifice depth increases. | 15 | Biofilm-inspired adhesive and antibacterial hydrogel with tough tissue integration performance for sealing hemostasis and wound healing显示文摘Uncontrolled bleeding and infection can cause significant increases in mortalities.Hydrogel sealants have attracted extensive attention for their ability to control bleeding.However,because interfacial water is a formidable barrier to strong surface bonding,a challenge remains in finding a product that offers robust tissue adhesion combined with anti-infection properties.Inspired by the strong adhesive mechanism of biofilm and mussels,we report a novel dual bionic adhesive hydrogel(DBAH)based on chitosan grafted with methacrylate(CS-MA),dopamine(DA),and N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide(NMA)via a facile radical polymerization process.CS-MA and DA were simultaneously included in the adhesive polymer for imitating the two key adhesive components:polysaccharide intercellular adhesin(PIA)of staphylococci biofilm and 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine(Dopa)of mussel foot protein,respectively.DBAH presented strong adhesion at 34 kPa even upon three cycles of full immersion in water and was able to withstand up to 168 mm Hg blood pressure,which is significantly higher than the 60–160 mm Hg measured in most clinical settings.Most importantly,these hydrogels presented outstanding hemostatic capability under wet and dynamic in vivo movements while displaying excellent antibacterial properties and biocompatibility.Therefore,DBAH represents a promising class of biomaterials for high-efficiency hemostasis and wound healing. | Wei Han Bo Zhou Kai Yang Xin Xiong Shifang Luan Yu Wang Zheng Xu Peng Lei Zhengshan Luo Jian Gao Yijing Zhan Guopu Chen Lei Liang Rui Wang Sha Li Hong Xu | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,4: | 6 |

| 17 | Influences of labor migration on rural household land transfer:A case study of Sichuan Province,China显示文摘The influence of labor migration on rural household land transfer has been hotly debated in academic circles, which focuses on whether part-time employment leads to land transfer. Using survey data on rural households in the Sichuan Province, and applying the theoretical framework of new economics of labor migration, this study explores the influences of labor migration on the direction and scale of land transfer from the perspective of rural household structure. The results indicate that: 1) the quantity of laborers has significant influence on the direction and scale of land transfer. The larger the on-farm labor variable(Labor), the lesser the possibility that land will be rented-out and the amount of land rented out will also be smaller. In addition, there is a greater probability that land will be rented-in and the amount of land rented-in will be greater. 2) The greater the ratio of off-farm laborers to rural household laborers(Off-farm) the greater the possibility that land will be rented-out. In addition the higher the ratio of on-farm laborers to the total household laborers(On-farm), the larger the possibility that land will be rented-in. Meanwhile, if the household has individuals at the age of 64 or older(Old) who are engaged in agriculture, there is a smaller possibility that land will be rentedout. 3) the ratio of part-time laborers to rural household laborers(Pluriactivity) have significant inverse U-shaped influences on the rent-in of land as well as the amount of land rented-in. The inflection points are 33.27% and 14.10%, respectively. Specifically, we developed a linear regression model to assess differential contributions by glutamine and/or glutamate to each of seven biological processes in cancer versus control tissues.Results: While our computational predictions were consistent with some of the previous observations, multiple novel predictions were made:(1) glutamine is generally not involved in purine synthesis in cancer except for breast cancer, and is similarly not involved in pyridine synthesis except for kidney cancer;(2) glutamine is generally not involved in ATP production in cancer;(3) glutamine's contribution to nucleotide synthesis is minimal if any in cancer;(4) glutamine is not involved in asparagine synthesis in cancer except for bladder and lung cancers; and(5) glutamate does not contribute to serine synthesis except for bladder cancer.Conclusions: We comprehensively predicted the roles of glutamine and glutamate metabolisms in selected metabolic pathways in cancer tissues versus control tissues, which may lead to novel approaches to therapeutic development targeted at glutamine and/or glutamate metabolism. | 20 | Bushen Qiangjin capsule(补肾强筋胶囊) inhibits the Wnt/β-catenin pathway to ameliorate papain-induced knee osteoarthritis in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the molecular mechanism underlying the beneficial effect of Bushen Qiangjin capsule(补肾强筋胶囊,BSQJ),a Traditional Chinese Medicine,on knee osteoarthritis(KOA).METHODS:In the present study,32 female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups:control,KOA,high-dose BSQJ(H-BSQJ),and low-dose BSQJ(L-BSQJ).After successfully establishing the KOA model by intra-articular injection of papain,H-BSQJ and L-BSQJ groups were intragastrically administered 0.243 and 0.122 g/kg BSQJ,respectively,daily for 6 weeks.At the end of the experiment,knee articular cartilage tissues of rats were collected for evaluation by hematoxylin and eosin staining,Safranin O-Fast Green staining,and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick-end labeling assay.Serum interleukin-1βand tumor necrosis factor-αlevels of rats were detected with an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method.Gene expression of Wnt-4,β-catenin,Frizzled-2,glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β),cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinases 3 and 9(caspases 3 and 9),collagen typeⅡalpha 1(Col2 a1),and matrix metalloproteinases 1 and 13(MMP-1 and MMP-3)of rat knee articular cartilage was quantified by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.Wnt-4,β-catenin,Frizzled-2,GSK-3β,cleaved caspase-3,and cleaved caspase-9 protein expression in rat knee articular cartilage was determined by western blot analysis.RESULTS:BSQJ obviously reduced pathological damage and matrix degradation of articular cartilage in KOA rats.Compared with the KOA group,H-BSQJ rats exhibited downregulated m RNA and protein expression of Wnt-4,β-catenin,Frizzled-2,and caspase-3,as well as upregulated m RNA and protein expression of GSK-3β.In addition,H-BSQJ significantly increased m RNA expression of Col2 a1 and decreased m RNA expression of MMP-1 and MMP-13.CONCLUSION:BSQJ exerted a beneficial effect on KOA by a mechanism involving downregulation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway,which inhibited both cartilage extracellular matrix degradation and chondrocyte apoptosis to ameliorate KOA in rats. | YAO Nan CHEN Guocai LU Yanyan XU Xuemeng ZHAO Chuanxi HUANG Xuejun LIU Wengang PENG Sha WU Huai | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,6: | 5 |
