2Constructing Straight Pores and Improving Mechanical Properties of GangueBased Porous Ceramics显示文摘The large-scale accumulation and pollution of solid mining waste is an urgent issue.Coal gangue is a prominent type of solid waste,and shows promise for use in high value-added products due to its content of many important compounds,including SiO_(2) and Al2O3.This study proposed the preparation of highly porous ceramics from coal gangue,coal slime,and coconut palm fibers.The ceramics were produced at a sintering temperature of 950℃ with a fiber content of 6 wt%,which led to the formation of porous ceramics with a porosity of 66.93%,volume density of 1.0329 g/cm^(3),compressive strength of 1.1025 MPa,and thermal conductivity is 0.3919 K(W/mk).A finite element model of the porous ceramics was established using the Abaqus module in ANSYS software,where the stress distribution and compressive strength were simulated.Further,the relationship between porosity and compressive strength was analyzed.The thermal properties of the porous ceramics were analyzed using the Fluent module,where the simulated changes in porosity under various sintering temperatures were consistent with the experimental data.The preparation of this highly porous ceramic from solid waste coal gangue shows promise for the minimizing the impact of waste gas and wastewater pollution in the future.Hang Xu Huiling Du Le Kang Qiudi Cheng Danni Feng Siyu Xia 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,12:4

5Identification of close relationship between atmospheric oxidation and ozone formation regimes in a photochemically active region显示文摘Understanding ozone(O_(3))formation regime is a prerequisite in formulating an effective O_(3)pollution control strategy.Photochemical indicator is a simple and direct method in identifying O_(3)formation regimes.Most used indicators are derived from observations,whereas the role of atmospheric oxidation is not in consideration,which is the core driver of O_(3)formation.Thus,it may impact accuracy in signaling O_(3)formation regimes.In this study,an advanced three-dimensional numerical modeling system was used to investigate the relationship between atmospheric oxidation and O_(3)formation regimes during a long-lasting O_(3)exceedance event in September 2017 over the Pearl River Delta(PRD)of China.We discovered a clear relationship between atmospheric oxidative capacity and O_(3)formation regime.Over eastern PRD,O_(3)formation was mainly in a NO x-limited regime when HO_(2)/OH ratio was higher than 11,while in a VOC-limited regime when the ratio was lower than 9.5.Over central and western PRD,an HO_(2)/OH ratio higher than 5 and lower than 2 was indicative of NO x-limited and VOC-limited regime,respectively.Physical contribution,including horizontal transport and vertical transport,may pose uncertainties on the indication of O_(3)formation regime by HO_(2)/OH ratio.In comparison with other commonly used photochemical indicators,HO_(2)/OH ratio had the best performance in differentiating O_(3)formation regimes.This study highlighted the necessities in using an atmospheric oxidative capacity-based indicator to infer O_(3)formation regime,and underscored the importance of characterizing behaviors of radicals to gain insight in atmospheric processes leading to O_(3)pollution over a photochemically active region.Kaihui Zhao Huihong Luo Zibing Yuan Danni Xu Yi Du Shu Zhang Yuqi Hao Yonghua Wu Jianping Huang Ying Wang Rongsheng Jiang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:1
6Bioengineering extracellular vesicles as novel nanocarriers towards brain disorders显示文摘Despite noteworthy technological progress and promising preclinical trials,brain disorders are still the leading causes of death globally.Extracellular vesicles(EVs),nano-/micro-sized membrane vesicles carrying bioactive molecules,are involved in cellular communication.Based on their unique properties,including superior biocompatibility,non-immunogenicity,and blood-brain barrier(BBB)penetration,EVs can shield their cargos from immune clearance and transport them to specific site,which have attracted increasing interests as novel nanocarriers for brain disorders.However,considering the limitations of native EVs,such as poor encapsulation efficiency,inadequate targeting capability,uncontrolled drug release,and limited production,researchers bioengineer EVs to fully exploit the clinical potential.Herein,this review initially describes the basic properties,biogenesis,and uptake process of EVs from different subtypes.Then,we highlight the application of EVs derived from different sources for personalized therapy and novel strategies to construct bioengineered EVs for enhanced diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders.Besides,it also presents a systematic comparison between EVs and other brain-targeted nanocarriers.Finally,existing challenges and future perspectives of EVs have been discussed,hoping to bolster the research from benchtop to bedside.Jie Wu Lei Ma Danni Sun Xinru Zhang Jiwei Cui Yingjiang Du Yumiao Guo Xue Wang Liuqing Di Ruoning Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1
7Phylogenetic Analysis and Molecular Identification of the Six Reticulitermes Species Using Different Markers显示文摘The tennite genus Reticulitermes species are serious pests of wooden structures and important quarantine insects in the world. It is very difficult to distinguish different Reticulitermes species based on their similar morphology, which brings much trouble to quarantine work for invasive Reticulitermes species. Here, we used the four molecular markers, 18 S rDNA, COI, COII and ITS genes, to carry out phylogenetic analysis and identification of the six Reticulitermes species. We found that R. labralis, R. speratus, R. aculabialis, R. chinensis and R.flaviceps from China clustered together in the phylogenetic tree of COI gene, consisting with geographical distribution of them. We suggest that COI gene is suitable for interspecific phylogenetic analysis of Reticulitermes species. Subsequently, we designed and synthesized specific primer and TaqMan probe based on the COI gene of R. chinensis, and found that this primer can specifically detect R. chinensis. The minimum concentration of DNA sample is lpg/μL for the identification of R. chinensis. 8Single-phase formation mechanism and dielectric properties of sol-gel-derived Ba(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Sn_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Ce_(0.2))O_(3) high-entropy ceramics显示文摘Single-phase Ba(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Sn_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Ce_(0.2))O_(3)(BTZSHC) high-entropy ceramics(HECs) with the perovskite structure were successfully prepared via the sol-gel method.The results reveal that the as-prepared ceramics exhibit a single cubic phase belonging to the Pm3 m space group.The high entropy is the driving force of the formation of single-phase ceramics.A larger entropy(ΔS_(mix)) and a negative enthalpy(ΔH_(mix)) are conducive to the formation of single-phase compounds.Herein,ΔS_(mix)=0.323 R mole-1andΔH_(mix)=43.88 kJ/mol.The sluggish-diffusion effect ensures the thermal stability of high-entropy systems.Dielectric measurements reveal that the as-prepared BTZSHC high-entropy ceramics are relaxor ferroelectrics,and the degree of relaxor(γ) is 1.9.The relaxor behavior of the as-prepared ceramics can be ascribed to the relaxation and thermal evolution of their polar units(PUs).The findings of this work provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the preparation of single-phase high-entropy ceramics.Jia Liu Cuiying Ma Lianli Wang Ke Ren Hongpei Ran Danni Feng Huiling Du Yiguang Wang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,35:0
