| 1 | Ultrasound-Guided Transmuscular Quadratus Lumbar Block Reduces Opioid Consumption after Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy显示文摘Objectives Transmuscular quadratus lumborum block(TQLB)may provide postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing intraperitoneal surgeries.The purpose of this study was to examine the potential efficacy of TQLB among patients undergoing retroperitoneal procedures,such as the laparoscopic partial nephrectomy(LPN).Methods This prospective,randomized,controlled study was conducted from August 2017 to November 2018 at Peking Union Medical College Hospital(Beijing,China).Patients who were scheduled for a LPN,aged 18・70 years old with an ASA physical status score of I-II were randomly assigned to receive either TQLB with 0.6 ml/kg of 0.5%ropivacaine plus general anesthesia(TQLB group)or general anesthesia alone(control group).Patient-controlled intravenous analgesia with morphine was initiated immediately upon surgery completion.The primary outcome was the cumulative consumption of morphine within 8 h after surgery.The secondary outcome included postoperative consump廿ons of morphine at other time points,pain score at rest and during activity,postoperative nausa and vomitting(PONV),and recovery related parameters.Results Totally 30 patients per group were recruited in the study.The 8 h consumption of morphine was lower in theTQLB group than in the control group(median,0.023 mg/kg vs.0.068 mg/kg,U=207.5,P<0.001).No significant differences were observed in postoperative pain scores between the two groups.Patients in the TQLB group had fewer episodes of PONV(20%vs.47%,χ2=4.&P=0.028)in the first 24 h after surgery and higher scores for quality of recovery(mean,13&6 vs.131.9,t=-2.164,P=0.035)120 h after surgery than the controls.Conclusions TQLB resulted in an opioid-sparing effect during the early postoperative period following LPN,as well as a lower incidence of PONV and improved quality of recovery. | Xulei Cui Xu Li Minna Li Yuelun Zhang Yi Xie Weigang Yan Yushi Zhang Zhigang Ji Yuguang Huang | 2020 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2020，35，4： | 10 |
| 2 | Tim-3 promotes cell aggressiveness and paclitaxel resistance through NF-κB/STAT3 signalling pathway in breast cancer cells显示文摘Objective:Although T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain containing molecule-3(Tim-3)has been recognized as a promising target for cancer immunotherapy,its exact role in breast cancer has not been fully elucidated.Methods:Tim-3 gene expression in breast cancer and its prognostic significance were analyzed.Associated mechanisms were then explored in vitro by establishing Tim-3-overexpressing breast cancer cells.Results:In a pooled analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database,Tim-3 gene expression levels were significantly higher(P<0.001)in breast cancer tissue,compared with normal tissues.Tim-3 was a prognosis indicator in breast cancer patients[relapse-free survival(RFS),P=0.004;overall survival(OS),P=0.099].Tim-3 overexpression in Tim-3 low breast cancer cells promoted aggressiveness of breast cancer cells,as evidenced by enhanced proliferation,migration,invasion,tight junction deterioration and tumor-associated tubal formation.Tim-3 also enhanced cellular resistance to paclitaxel.Furthermore,Tim-3 exerted its function by activating the NF-κB/STAT3 signalling pathway and by regulating gene expression[cyclin D1(CCND1),C-Myc,matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP1),TWIST,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)upregulation,concomitant with Ecadherin downregulation).Lastly,Tim-3 downregulated tight junction-associated molecules zona occludens(ZO)-2,ZO-1 and occludin,which may further facilitate tumor progression.Conclusions:Tim-3 plays an oncogenic role in breast cancer and may represent a potential target for antitumor therapy. | Yizi Cong Yuxin Cui Shiguang Zhu Jianqiao Cao Haidong Zou Tracey AMartin Guangdong Qiao Wenguo Jiang Zhigang Yu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020，32，5： | 7 |
| 3 | A multi-institutional retrospective study of hyperthermic plus intravesical chemotherapy versus intravesical chemotherapy treatment alone in intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy(HIVEC)and intravesical chemotherapy(IVEC)in patients with intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)after transurethral resection.Methods:We included 560 patients diagnosed with primary or recurrent NMIBC between April 2009 and December 2015 at 1 of 6 tertiary centers.We matched 364 intermediate or high risk cases and divided them into 2 groups:the HIVEC+IVEC group[chemohyperthermia(CHT)composed of 3 consecutive sessions followed by intravesical instillation without hyperthermia]and the IVEC group(intravesical instillation without hyperthermia).The data were recorded in the database.The primary endpoint was 2-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)in all NMIBC patients(n=364),whereas the secondary endpoints were the assessment of radical cystectomy(RC)and 5-year overall survival(OS).Results:There was a significant difference in the 2-year RFS between the two groups in all patients(n=364;HIVEC+IVEC:82.42%vs.IVEC:74.18%,P=0.038).Compared with the IVEC group,the HIVEC+IVEC group had a lower incidence of RC(P=0.0274).However,the 5-year OS was the same between the 2 groups(P=0.1434).Adverse events(AEs)occurred in 32.7%of all patients,but none of the events was serious(grades 3–4).No difference in the incidence or severity of AEs between each treatment modality was observed.Conclusions:This retrospective study showed that HIVEC+IVEC had a higher 2-year RFS and a lower incidence of RC than IVEC therapy in intermediate and high risk NMIBC patients.Both treatments were well-tolerated in a similar manner. | Qiang Ruan Degang Ding Bin Wang Chaohong He Xuequn Ren Zhenhua Feng Zhigang Pang Jin Wang Xiangliang Zhang Hongsheng Tang Jiahong Wang Qingjun He Ziying Lei Quanxing Liao Jiali Luo Shuzhong Cui | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021，18，1： | 4 |

| 7 | Cholecystectomy is associated with higher risk of recurrence after microwave ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Objective:To explore the association between cholecystectomy and the prognostic outcomes of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(H CC)who underwent microwave ablation(MWA).Methods:Patients with HCC(«=921)who underwent MWA were included and divided into cholecystectomy(n=114)and non-cholecystectomy groups(n=807).After propensity score matching(PSM)at a 1:2 ratio,overall survival(OS)and disease-free survival(DFS)rates were analyzed to compare prognostic outcomes between the cholecystectomy(«=114)and non-cholecystectomy groups(n=228).Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were performed to assess potential risk factors for OS and DFS.Major complications were also compared between the groups.Results:After matching,no significant differences between groups were observed in baseline characteristics.The 1-,3-,and 5-year OS rates were 96.5%,82.1%,and 67.1%in the cholecystectomy group,and 97.4%,85.2%,and 74.4%in the non-cholecystectomy group(P=0.396);the 1-,3-,and 5-year DFS rates were 58.4%,34.5%,and 26.6%in the cholecystectomy group,and 73.6%,44.7%,and 32.2%in the non-cholecystectomy group(P=0.026),respectively.The intrahepatic distant recurrence rate in the cholecystectomy group was significantly higher than that in the non-cholecystectomy group(P=0.026),and the local tumor recurrence and extrahepatic recurrence rates did not significantly differ between the groups(P=0.609 and P=0.879).Multivariate analysis revealed that cholecystectomy(HR=1.364,95%Cl 1.023-1.819,P=0.035),number of tumors(2 vs.1:HR=2.744,95%Cl 1.925-3.912,P<0.001;3 vs.1:HR=3.411,95%Cl 2.021-5.759,P<0.001),and y-GT levels(HR=1.003,95%Cl 1.000-1.006,P<0.024)were independent risk factors for DFS.The best y-GT level cut-off value for predicting median DFS was 39.6 U/L(area under the curve=0.600,P<0.05).A positive correlation was observed between cholecystectomy and y-GT level(r=0.108,95%Cl-0.001-0.214,P=0.047).Subgroup analysis showed that the DFS rates were significantly higher in the non-cholecystectomy group than the cholecystectomy group when Y-GT>39.6 U/L(i3=0.044).The 5-,10-,15-,20-,and 25-year recurrence rates from the time of cholecystectomy were 2.63%,21.93%,42.11%,58.77%,and 65.79%,respectively.A significant positive correlation was observed between cholecystectomy and the time from cholecystectomy to recurrence(r=0.205,95%Cl 0.016-0.379,P=0.029).There were no significant differences in complications between groups(P=0.685).Conclusions:Patients with HCC who underwent cholecystectomy were more likely to develop intrahepatic distant recurrence after MWA,an outcome probably associated with increased y-GT levels.Moreover,the recurrence rates increased with time. | Hongcai Yang Yi Yang Jianping Dou Rui Cui Zhigang Cheng Zhiyu Han Fangyi Liu Xiaoling Yu Xiang Zhou Jie Yu Ping Liang | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020，17，2： | 3 |

| 10 | Cenozoic Sea-land Transition and its Petroleum Geological Significance in the Northern South China Sea显示文摘The process of Cenozoic sea-land changes in the northern South China Sea(SCS)controlled the sedimentary filling pattern and played an important role in the petroleum geological characteristics of the northern marginal sedimentary basins.Under the control of the opening process of the SCS,the northern SCS Cenozoic transgression generally showed the characteristics of early in the east and late in the west,and early in the south and late in the north.The initial transgression occurred in the Eocene in the Taixinan Basin(TXNB)of the eastern SCS,while the transgression occurred until the Pliocene in the Yinggehai Basin(YGHB)of the western SCS.International Ocean Discovery Program(IODP)expeditions(Expeditions 367/368)revealed that the initial transgression of the SCS basin occurred at approximately 34 Ma,which was the initial opening time of the SCS.The period of drastic changes in the sedimentary environment caused by large-scale transgression corresponded to the opening time of the southwestern subbasin(approximately 23 Ma),which also represented the peak of the spreading of the SCS.The sea-land transition process controls the distribution of alternating continent-marine facies,marine facies source rocks and reservoirs in the basins.The marine facies source rocks of the basins in the northern SCS have a trend of gradually becoming younger from east to west,which is consistent with the regional process of gradual transgression from east to west.Regional sea-level changes were comprehensively influenced by SCS opening and global sea-level changes.These processes led to the early development in the east and south and late development in the west and north for the carbonate platform in the SCS.Carbonate platforms form another type of'selfgenerating and self-accumulating'oil-gas reservoir in the northern SCS.The sea-land transition controlled the depositional filling patterns of different basins and laid the foundation of marine deposits for oil and gas resources.The source-reservoircap assemblage in the northern SCS was controlled horizontally by provenance supply and sedimentary environmental changes caused by sea-land transition and vertically by the tectonic evolution of the SCS and regional sea-level changes. | ZHAO Zhigang ZHANG Hao CUI Yuchi TANG Wu QIAO Peijun | 2021 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021，95，1： | 2 |
