1Whole-genome sequencing to detect mutations associated with resistance to insecticides and Bt proteins in Spodoptera frugiperda显示文摘The fall armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda,is a major pest native to the Americas that has recently invaded the Old World.Point mutations in the target-site proteins acetylcholinesterase-1(ace-1),voltage-gated sodium channel(VGSC)and ryanodine receptor(RyR)have been identified in S.frugiperda as major resistance mechanisms to organophosphate,pyrethroid and diamide insecticides respectively.Mutations in the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter C2 gene(ABCC2)have also been identified to confer resistance to Cry IF protein.In this study,we applied a whole-genome sequencing(WGS)approach to identify point mutations in the target-site genes in 150 FAW individuals collected from China,Malawi,Uganda and Brazil.This approach revealed three amino acid substitutions(A201S,G227A and F290V)of S.frugiperda ace-1,which are known to be associated with organophosphate resistance.The Brazilian population had all three ace-1 point mutations and the 227A allele(mean frequency=0.54)was the most common.Populations from China,Malawi and Uganda harbored two of the three ace-1 point mutations(A201S and F290V)with the 290V allele(0.47-0.58)as the dominant allele.Point mutations in VGSC(T929I,L932F and L1014F)and RyR(I4790M and G4946E)were not detected in any of the 150 individuals.A novel 12-bp insertion mutation in exon 15 of the ABCC2 gene was identified in some of the Brazilian individuals but absent in the invasive populations.Our results not only demonstrate robustness of the WGS-based genomic approach for detection of resistance mutations,but also provide insights for improvement of resistance management tactics in S.frugiperda.Fang Guan Jianpeng Zhang Huiwen Shen Xingliang Wang Amanda Padovan Tom K.Walsh Wee Tek Tay Karl H.J.Gordon William James Cecilia Czepak Michael Hilary Otim Donald Kachigamba Yidong Wu 2021Insect Science2021,28,3:6
2Ketamine induces tau hyperphosphorylation at serine 404 in the hippocampus of neonatal rats显示文摘Male Wistar 7-day-old rats were injected with 40 mg/kg ketamine intraperitoneally, followed by three additional injections of 20 mg/kg ketamine each upon restoration of the righting reflex. Neonatal rats injected with equivalent volumes of saline served as controls. Hippocampal samples were collected at 1, 7 or 14 days following administration. Electron microscopy showed that neuronal structure changed noticeably following ketamine treatment. Specifically, microtubular structure became irregular and disorganized. Quantitative real time-PCR revealed that phosphorylated tau mRNA was upregulated after ketamine. Western blot analysis demonstrated that phosphorylated tau levels at serine 396 initially decreased at 1 day after ketamine injection, and then gradually returned to control values. At 14 days after injection, levels of phosphorylated tau were higher in the ketamine group than in the control group. Tau protein phosphorylated at serine 404 significantly increased after ketamine injection, and then gradually decreased with time. However, the levels of tau protein at serine 404 were significantly greater in the ketamine group than in the control group until 14 days. 3Atomic and electronic basis for the serrations of refractory high-entropy alloys显示文摘Refractory high-entropy alloys present attractive mechanical properties,i.e.,high yield strength and fracture toughness,making them potential candidates for structural applications.Understandings of atomic and electronic interactions are important to reveal the origins for the formation of high-entropy alloys and their structure−dominated mechanical properties,thus enabling the development of a predictive approach for rapidly designing advanced materials.Here,we report the atomic and electronic basis for the valence−electron-concentration-categorized principles and the observed serration behavior in high-entropy alloys and highentropy metallic glass,including MoNbTaW,MoNbVW,MoTaVW,HfNbTiZr,and Vitreloy-1 MG(Zr_(41)Ti_(14)Cu_(12.5)Ni_(10)Be_(22.5)).We find that the yield strengths of high-entropy alloys and high-entropy metallic glass are a power-law function of the electron-work function,which is dominated by local atomic arrangements.Further,a reliance on the bonding-charge density provides a groundbreaking insight into the nature of loosely bonded spots in materials.The presence of strongly bonded clusters and weakly bonded glue atoms imply a serrated deformation of high-entropy alloys,resulting in intermittent avalanches of defects movement.William Yi Wang Shun Li Shang Yi Wang Fengbo Han Kristopher A.Darling Yidong Wu Xie Xie Oleg N.Senkov Jinshan Li Xi Dong Hui Karin A.Dahmen Peter K.Liaw Laszlo J.Kecskes Zi-Kui Liu 2017npj Computational Materials2017,,1:3
4Simultaneous diffusion of cation and anion to access N,S cocoordinated Bi-sites for enhanced CO_(2) electroreduction显示文摘Developing highly active single-atom sites catalysts for electrochemical reduction of CO_(2) is an effective and environmental-friendly strategy to promote carbon-neutral energy cycle and ameliorate global climate issues.Herein,we develop an atomically dispersed N,S co-coordinated bismuth atom sites catalyst(Bi-SAs-NS/C)via a cation and anion simultaneous diffusion strategy for electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction.In this strategy,the bonded Bi cation and S anion are simultaneously diffused into the nitrogen-doped carbon layer in the form of Bi2S3.Then Bi is captured by the abundant N-rich vacancies and S is bonded with carbons.support at high temperature,formed the N,S co-coordinated Bi sites.Benefiting from the simultaneous diffusion of Bi and S,different electronegative N and S can be effectively co-coordinated with Bi,forming the uniform Bi-N_(3)S/C sites.The synthesized.Bi-SAs-NS/C exhibits a high selectivity towards CO with over 88%Faradaic efficiency in a wide potential range,and achieves a maximum FE_(CO)of 98.3%at-0.8 V vs.RHE with a current density of 10.24 mA·cm^(-2),which can keep constant with negligible degradation in 24 h continuous electrolysis.Experimental results and theoretical calculations reveal that the significantly improved catalytic performance of Bi-SAs-NS/C than Bi-SAs-N/C is ascribed to the replacement of one coordinated-N with low electronegative S in Bi-N_(4)C center,which can greatly reduce the energy barrier of the intermediate formation in rate-limiting step and increase the reaction kinetics.This work provides an effective strategy for rationally designing highly active single-atom sites;catalysts for efficient electrocatalysis with optimized electronic structure.Zhiyuan Wang Chun Wang Yidong Hu Shuai Yang Jia Yang Wenxing Chen Huang Zhou Fangyao Zhou Lingxiao Wang Junyi Du Yafei Li Yuen Wu 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:2

10Enhanced dynamic deformability and strengthening effect via twinning and microbanding in high density NiCoFeCrMoW high-entropy alloys显示文摘High density alloys with enhanced deformability and strength are urgently required in energy,military and nuclear industries,etc.In this work,we present a new kind of NiCoFeCrMoW high entropy alloys(HEAs)which possess higher densities and sound velocities than copper.We systematically investigate the phase structure,quasi-static tensile,dynamic compression and related deformation mechanism of these HEAs.It is shown that single FCC or FCC+μdual phases were formed in the HEAs depending on Mo and W content and annealing temperature.Excellent quasi-static tensile and dynamic compression properties have been achieved for these HEAs,e.g.Ni_(30)Co_(30)Fe_(21)Cr_(10)W_(9)HEA annealed at 1573 K exhibited a yield and ultimate tensile strength and elongation of~364 MPa,~866 MPa and~32%,respectively,in quasi-static test;a yield strength of~710 MPa and no fracture under the dynamic strain rate of 4100 s^(-1).Superior strain rate sensitivity(SRS)of yield strength than that of previously reported FCC HEAs have been evidenced.The dynamic stress-strain constitutive relation can be described by the modified Johnson-Cook model.As for the dynamic deformation mechanism,it is envisaged that the regulation of stacking fault energy and Peierls barrier in current HEAs resulted in occurrences of abundant nanoscale deformation twins and microbands during high strain rate compression.The synergistic microbanding and twinning effectively contributes to the enhanced dynamic deformability and strengthening effect.Besides,the interactions of dislocations with precipitates,stacking faults(SFs)with twins,and between SFs also contribute to extraordinary work-hardening capacity.Xuli Liu Yidong Wu Yansong Wang Jinbin Chen Rui Bai Lei Gao Zhe Xu William Yi Wang Chengwen Tan Xidong Hui 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32:1

18Nonsuspended optomechanical crystal cavities using As_(2)S_(3) chalcogenide glass显示文摘An optomechanical crystal cavity with nonsuspended structure using As_(2)S_(3) material is proposed. The principle of mode confinement in the nonsuspended cavity is analyzed, and two different types of optical and acoustic defect modes are calculated through appropriate design of the cavity structure. An optomechanical coupling rate of 82.3 kHz is obtained in the proposed cavity, and the designed acoustic frequency is 3.44 GHz.
