| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 3 | miR-21 promotes the differentiation of hair folliclederived neural crest stem cells into Schwann cells显示文摘Hair follicle-derived neural crest stem cells can be induced to differentiate into Schwann cells in vivo and in vitro. However, the underlying regulatory mechanism during cell differentiation remains poorly understood. This study isolated neural crest stem cells from human hair follicles and induced them to differentiate into Schwann cells. Quantitative RT-PCR showed that microRNA(miR)-21 expression was gradually increased during the differentiation of neural crest stem cells into Schwann cells. After transfection with the miR-21 agonist(agomir-21), the differentiation capacity of neural crest stem cells was enhanced. By contrast, after transfection with the miR-21 antagonist(antagomir-21), the differentiation capacity was attenuated. Further study results showed that SOX-2 was an effective target of miR-21. Without compromising SOX2 mRNA expression, miR-21 can down-regulate SOX protein expression by binding to the 3′-UTR of miR-21 mRNA. Knocking out the SOX2 gene from the neural crest stem cells significantly reversed the antagomir-21 inhibition of neural crest stem cells differentiating into Schwann cells. | 7 | The elemental carbon record in Weinan loess section since the last 21 ka显示文摘We studied the records of elemental carbon (EC) of the last 21 ka in the Weinan loess section, Shanxi Province. The variations of EC abundance and δ13CEC value along with depth (or age) were presented. There are four large peaks of EC abundance around the following years: 20.16 ka, 17.76 ka, 11.97 ka and 4.49 ka. Climatic situation was changed rapidly during these periods. | 8 | Single-cell RNA sequencing of meiocytes and microspores reveals the involvement of the Rf4 gene in redox homeostasis of CMS-C maize显示文摘Normal microsporogenesis is determined by both nuclear and mitochondrial genes. In maize C-type cytoplasmic male sterility, it is unclear how the development of meiocytes and microspores is affected by the mitochondrial sterility gene and the nuclear restorer gene. In this study, we sequenced the transcriptomes of single meiocytes(tetrad stage) and early mononucleate microspores from sterile and restorer lines. The numbers of expressed genes varied in individual cells and fewer than half of the expressed genes were common to the same cell types. Four comparisons revealed 3379 differentially expressed genes(DEGs), with 277 putatively associated with mitochondria, 226 encoding transcription factors,and 467 possibly targeted by RF4. KEGG analysis indicated that the DEGs in the two lines at the tetrad stage were involved predominantly in carbon metabolism and in amino acid biosynthesis and metabolism, whereas the DEGs during the transition from the tetrad stage to the early mononucleate stage were associated mostly with regulation of protein metabolism, fatty acid metabolism, and anatomical structure morphogenesis. | 9 | Tuning filament composition and microstructure of 3D-printed bioceramic scaffolds facilitate bone defect regeneration and repair显示文摘It is still a challenge to optimize the component distribution and microporous structures in scaffolds for tailoring biodegradation(ion releasing)and enhancing bone defect repair within an expected time stage.Herein,the core–shell-typed nonstoichiometric wollastonite(4%and 10%Mg-doping calcium silicate;CSiMg4,CSiMg10)macroporous scaffolds with microporous shells(adding~μ10 μm PS microspheres into shell-layer slurry)were fabricated via 3D printing.The initial mechanical properties and bio-dissolution(ion releasing)in vitro,and osteogenic capacity in vivo of the bioceramic scaffolds were evaluated systematically.It was shown that endowing high-density micropores in the sparingly dissolvable CSiMg10 or dissolvable CSiMg4 shell layer inevitably led to nearly 30%reduction of compressive strength,but such micropores could readily tune the ion release behaviour of the scaffolds(CSiMg4@CSiMg10 vs.CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p;CSiMg10@CSiMg4 vs.CSiMg10@CSiMg4-p).Based on the in rabbit femoral bone defect repair model,the 3D μCT reconstruction and histological observation demonstrated that the CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p scaffolds displayed markedly higher osteogenic capability than the other scaffolds after 12weeks of implantation.It demonstrated that core–shell bioceramic 3D printing technique can be developed to fabricate single-phase or biphasic bioactive ceramic scaffolds with accurately tailored filament biodegradation for promoting bone defect regeneration and repair in some specific pathological conditions. | Yi Chen Jiaping Huang Jiamei Liu Yingming Wei Xianyan Yang Lihong Lei Lili Chen Yanmin Wu Zhongru Gou | 2021 | Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,2: | 3 |

| 11 | A biomass burning record from the Lingtai Loess Section during the last 370 ka and implication for climate and environment显示文摘The history of natural fire and its rela- tionship with climate and vegetation are revealed from the content of elemental carbon and associated pollen data and paleoclimatic substitutive indicators for the loess of Lingtai Section in the last 370 ka BP. The study indicates that intense episodes of vegeta- tion fires occurred during the interim especially when the climate was changing from wet to drought. The average content of elemental carbon in the intergla- ciers is higher than that in the glaciers, which coin- cides with the biomass change locally (or globally). The content of elemental carbon increases in the stage around 130 ka BP, indicating that the vegeta- tion and climate pattern have changed, which may contribute to the variation of CO2. As a whole, the content of elemental carbon increasing with the time reflects the increasing aridity trend to some degree.
