| 1 | The Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer: system and applications显示文摘The Sunway Taihu Light supercomputer is the world's first system with a peak performance greater than 100 PFlops. In this paper, we provide a detailed introduction to the Taihu Light system. In contrast with other existing heterogeneous supercomputers, which include both CPU processors and PCIe-connected many-core accelerators(NVIDIA GPU or Intel Xeon Phi), the computing power of Taihu Light is provided by a homegrown many-core SW26010 CPU that includes both the management processing elements(MPEs)and computing processing elements(CPEs) in one chip. With 260 processing elements in one CPU, a single SW26010 provides a peak performance of over three TFlops. To alleviate the memory bandwidth bottleneck in most applications, each CPE comes with a scratch pad memory, which serves as a user-controlled cache. To support the parallelization of programs on the new many-core architecture, in addition to the basic C/C++and Fortran compilers, the system provides a customized Sunway Open ACC tool that supports the Open ACC2.0 syntax. | 4 | Danshenchuanxiongqin injection in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate systematically the efficacy and safety of Danshenchuanxiongqin Injection(DCI)in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris(UAP).METHODS:Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)regarding DCI used for treating UAP were searched in English and Chinese electronic databases from inception to January 2014.Two reviewers independently retrieved RCTs and extracted relevant information.The Cochrane risk of bias method was used to assess the quality of included studies,and a Meta-analysis was conducted with Review Manager5.2 software.RESULTS:Eleven RCTs involving 1034 participants were included.The methodological quality was relatively passable.The Meta-analysis indicated that the combined use of DCI and conventional treatment with Western Medicine(WM)was more efficacious in the outcomes of total effective rate[Relative Risk(RR)=1.27,95%CI(confidence interval;1.18,1.35),P<0.000 01],the total effective rate of ECG[RR=1.40,95%CI(1.18,1.66),P<0.000 01],total cholesterol[Mean difference(MD)=-0.58,95%CI(-0.83,-0.33),P<0.000 01],total triglycerides[MD=-0.36,95%CI(-0.54,-0.17),P=0.0001],and the number of ST-segment depression[MD=-0.36,95%CI(-0.54,-0.17),P=0.0001].There were two adverse drug reactions reported in one study.CONCLUSION:Based on the systematic review,DCI combined with WM appeared to be efficacious in the treatment UAP.However,the evidence of DCI for treating UAP requires large-scale and double-blind RCTs to substantiate these findings. | Zhang Xiaomeng Wu Jiarui Zhang Bing Zhou Wei | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2: | 24 |
| 5 | Efficacy and safety of puerarin injection in treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy: a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of puerarin injection in the treatment of diabeticperi pheral neuropathy(DPN).METHODS: Randomized controlled trials investigating the efficacy of puerarin injection on DPN were searched for in China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Chinese Scientific Journals Database, Wanfang Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed, and Cochrane Library from establishment to April 30.Two reviewers independently retrieved and extracted the information.The included studies were assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias and analyzed by Review Manager 5.2 software.RESULTS: Twenty-two studies involving 1664 participants were included. The quality of the studies was found to be relatively low. Meta-analysis showed that puerarin injection combined with western medication was more effective than conventional therapy for rate, nerve conduction velocity(NCV), and hemorheology index. Six adverse drug reactions(ADRs) from puerarin injection were reported in two studies. Reactions included facial flushing, palpitations, and pain at infusion locations. However,noserious ADRs were reported.CONCLUSION: Puerarin injection was effective for the treatment of DPN. Puerarin can improve the total effective rate, correct NCV that was decreased by diabetes, and improve the hemorheology index.Puerarin was also relatively safe clinically. | 6 | Stability of roof structure and its control in steeply inclined coal seams显示文摘To improve the effectiveness of control of surrounding rock and the stability of supports on longwall topcoal caving faces in steeply inclined coal seams, the stability of the roof structure and hydraulic supports was studied with physical simulation and theoretical analysis. The results show that roof strata in the vicinity of the tail gate subside extensively with small cutting height, while roof subsidence near the main gate is relatively assuasive. With increase of the mining space, the caving angle of the roof strata above the main gate increases. The characteristics of the vertical and horizontal displacement of the roof strata demonstrate that caved blocks rotate around the lower hinged point of the roof structure, which may lead to sliding instability. Large dip angle of the coal seam makes sliding instability of the roof structure easier.A three-hinged arch can be easily formed above both the tail and main gates in steeply inclined coal seams. | 9 | Interactive effects of wind speed,vegetation coverage and soil moisture in controlling wind erosion in a temperate desert steppe,Inner Mongolia of China显示文摘The rapid desertification of grasslands in Inner Mongolia of China poses a significant ecological threaten to northern China. The combined effects of anthropogenic disturbances(e.g., overgrazing) and biophysical processes(e.g., soil erosion) have led to vegetation degradation and the consequent acceleration of regional desertification. Thus, mitigating the accelerated wind erosion, a cause and effect of grassland desertification, is critical for the sustainable management of grasslands. Here, a combination of mobile wind tunnel experiments and wind erosion model was used to explore the effects of different levels of vegetation coverage, soil moisture and wind speed on wind erosion at different positions of a slope inside an enclosed desert steppe in the Xilamuren grassland of Inner Mongolia. The results indicated a significant spatial difference in wind erosion intensities depending on the vegetation coverage, with a strong decreasing trend from the top to the base of the slope. Increasing vegetation coverage resulted in a rapid decrease in wind erosion as explained by a power function correlation. Vegetation coverage was found to be a dominant control on wind erosion by increasing the surface roughness and by lowering the threshold wind velocity for erosion. The critical vegetation coverage required for effectively controlling wind erosion was found to be higher than 60%. Further, the wind erosion rates were negatively correlated with surface soil moisture and the mass flux in aeolian sand transport increased with increasing wind speed. We developed a mathematical model of wind erosion based on the results of an orthogonal array design. The results from the model simulation indicated that the standardized regression coefficients of the main effects of the three factors(vegetation coverage, soil moisture and wind speed) on the mass flux in aeolian sand transport were in the following order: wind speed>vegetation coverage>soil moisture. These three factors had different levels of interactive effects on the mass flux in aeolian sand transport. | 10 | Texture and tectonic attribute of Cenozoic basin basement in the northern South China Sea显示文摘Based on the drilling data,the geological characteristics of the coast in South China,and the interpretation of the long seismic profiles covering the Pearl River Mouth Basin and southeastern Hainan Basin,the basin basement in the northern South China Sea is divided into four structural layers,namely,Pre-Sinian crystalline basement,Sinian-lower Paleozoic,upper Paleozoic,and Mesozoic structural layers.This paper discusses the distribution range and law and reveals the tectonic attribute of each structural layer.The Pre-Sinian crystalline basement is distributed in the northern South China Sea,which is linked to the Pre-Sinian crystalline basement of the Cathaysian Block and together they constitute a larger-scale continental block—the Cathaysian-northern South China Sea continental block.The Sinian-lower Paleozoic structural layer is distributed in the northern South China Sea,which is the natural extension of the Caledonian fold belt in South China to the sea area.The sediments are derived from southern East China Sea-Taiwan,Zhongsha-Xisha islands and Yunkai ancient uplifts,and some small basement uplifts.The Caledonian fold belt in the northern South China Sea is linked with that in South China and they constitute the wider fold belt.The upper Paleozoic structural layer is unevenly distributed in the northern South China.In the basement of Beibu Gulf Basin and southwestern Taiwan Basin,the structural layer is composed of the stable epicontinental sea deposit.The distribution areas in the Pearl River Mouth Basin and the southeastern Hainan Basin belong to ancient uplifts in the late Paleozoic,lacking the upper Paleozoic structural layers.The stratigraphic distribution and sedimentary environment in Middle-Late Jurassic to Cretaceous are characteristic of differentiation in the east and the west.The marine,paralic deposit is well developed in the basin basement of southwestern Taiwan but the volcanic activity is not obvious.The marine and paralic facies deposit is distributed in the eastern Pearl River Mouth Basin basement and the volcanic activity is stronger.The continental facies volcano-sediment in the Early Cretaceous is distributed in the basement of the western Pearl River Mouth Basin and Southeastern Hainan Basin.The Upper Cretaceous red continental facies clastic rocks are distributed in the Beibu Gulf Basin and Yinggehai Basin.The NE direction granitic volcanic-intrusive complex,volcano-sedimentary basin,fold and fault in Mesozoic basement have the similar temporal and spatial distribution,geological feature,and tectonic attribute with the coastal land in South China,and they belong to the same magma-deposition-tectonic system,which demonstrates that the late Mesozoic structural layer was formed in the background of active continental margin.Based on the analysis of basement structure and the study on tectonic attribute,the paleogeographic map of the basin basement in different periods in the northern South China Sea is compiled. | SUN XiaoMeng ZHANG XuQing ZHANG GongCheng LU BaoLiang YUE JunPei ZHANG Bin | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,6: | 18 |

| 12 | Kinetics and corrosion products of aqueous nitrate reduction by iron powder without reaction conditions control显示文摘Although considerable research has been conducted on nitrate reduction by zero-valent iron powder (Fe0), these studies were mostly operated under anaerobic conditions with invariable pH that was unsuitable for practical application. Without reaction conditions (dissolved oxygen or reaction pH) control, this work aimed at subjecting the kinetics of denitrification by microscale Fe0 (160–200 mesh) to analysis the factors affecting the denitrification of nitrate and the composition of iron reductive products coating upon the iron surface. Results of the kinetics study have indicated that a higher initial concentration of nitrate would yield a greater reaction rate constant. The reduction rate of nitrate increased with increasing Fe0 dosage. The reaction can be described as a pseudo-first order reaction with respect to nitrate concentration or Fe0 dosage. Experimental results also suggested that nitrate reduction by microscale Fe0 without reaction condition control primarily was an acid-driven surface-mediated process, and the reaction order was 0.65 with respect to hydrogen ion concentration. The analyses of X-ray diffractometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicated that a black coating, consisted of Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and FeO(OH), was formed on the surface of iron grains as an iron corrosion product when the system initial pH was lower than 5. | 14 | Analysis of miR-205 and miR-155 expression in the blood of breast cancer patients显示文摘The purpose of this study was to identify and validate circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) in human plasma for use as breast cancer (BC) biomarkers and to analyze their relationship to clinicopathologic features and its preliminary biological function. Genome-wide expression profiling of miRNAs in BC was investigated by microarray analysis. miR-155 was up-regulated greater than two-fold in BC compared with Normal Adjacent Tissue (NAT), whereas let-7b, miR-381, miR-10b, miR-125a-5p, miR-335, miR-205 and miR-145 were down- regulated greater than two-fold. Our hypothesis was that circulating miRNAs are also present and differentially expressed in the serum of BC patients compared to controls. Using real-time PCR (RT-PCR), we analyzed miR-205 and miR-155 in archived serum from 30 participants, 20 with breast cancer and 10 healthy people. miR-205 was down-regulated in BC patient serum while miR-155 was up-regulated. Furthermore, we analyzed the relationship between the expression levels of these two miRNAs and the clinicopathologic parameters of BC patients. High expression of miR155 was associated with clinical stage, molecular type, Ki-67 and p53 in BC patients (P<0.05). By contrast, we found no significant correlation between miR-205 and BC patient clinicopathologic parameters. | 16 | Spatial and temporal analysis of tuberculosis in Zhejiang Province, China, 2009-2012显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)is an infectious disease of major public health concern.The disease has demonstrated large space-time variations.This study aims to explore the space-time dynamics of TB cases in an economically and geographically dynamic province in China with specific references of TB control for policy makers.Methods:Data on all reported TB cases from 2009 to 2012 were collected from the TB program at the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention.We employed time series and exploratory spatial data analyses,including Moran’s I,Local Getis’s G_(i)^(*),and Kulldorff’s space-time scan statistics,to identify the temporal trends and spatial patterns of TB at a county level.Results:A total of 147,941 TB cases were reported during 2009–2012 in Zhejiang.A higher proportion of TB cases were younger,male,and registered permanent residents among all TB cases notified in the province.TB cases were reported most frequently in April with small peaks in June,July,and October.This disease was spatially clustering with Moran’s I values ranged from 0.29 to 0.32(p<0.001).A most likely cluster and ten secondary clusters were identified,mainly concentrated in the southeast and west counties of the province.Conclusions:This study identified seasonal patterns and significant space-time clusters of TB cases in Zhejiang,China.Poverty,migration,and seasonal effects may play important roles in potential clusters. | Erjia Ge Xin Zhang Xiaomeng Wang Xiaolin Wei | 2016 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1: | 13 |
| 17 | Effect of Protein Kinase C on Proliferation and Apoptosis of T Lymphocytes in Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Children显示文摘It is well-documented that T lymphocyte proliferation and apoptosis are abnormal in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) children. However, the underlying regulation mechanisms especially in terms of signal transduction remain unknown. In this paper, we reported the changes of protein kinase C (PKC) activity in peripheral blood T lymphocytes and the effect of PKC on T lymphocyte proliferation and apoptosis. We demonstrated that in ITP children, the activator (PMA) and inhibitor (H-7) of PKC affected on T lymphocyte proliferation and apoptosis dramatically, but they altered little in healthy children. PKC activity was significantly enhanced in ITP children together with an increased expression of FasL on CD3+ T, CD4+ T and CD8+T cells, resulting in a positive correlation between PKC activity and the expression of FasL on T cells. While the PKC activity and the platelet count were negatively correlated.
