1Response of the accumulation of proline in the bodies of Populus euphratica to the change of groundwater level at the lower reaches of Tarim River显示文摘The content of proline in the plant bodies is closely related to the converse-succession-resistant capability of the plants. In this paper, the relationship between the proline accumulation in the bodies of Populus euphratica and the change of groundwater level is analyzed by taking Popu-lus euphratica, the main community-building species of the desert riparian forests along the Tarim River, as the research object. The research results show that the accumulation of proline in the bodies of Populus euphratica is closely related to the change of groundwater level gradient under drought stress, it increases with the drawdown of groundwater level and the increase of moisture stress degree; the accumulation of proline in the bodies of Populus euphratica has two ex-tremely high points at the groundwater depth ranges of 3.64—5.14 m and 9.46—10.16 m. Combining the field investiga-tion and the analysis of the plots, it is considered that the groundwater level of 3.5—4.5 m is rational for the growth of Populus euphratica. 5A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 9Synthesis and characterization of triblock copolymer by combining enzymatic condensation polymerization and ATRP显示文摘The polyester poly(1,10-decanediol /1, 10-sebacate) (PSD) was synthesized by means of Novozyme 435 catalyzed condensation polymeriza- tion of 1,10-decanediol and 1,10-sebacic acid. 10Modulation of evening complex activity enables north-to-south adaptation of soybean显示文摘Soybean,a typical short-day crop,is sensitive to photoperiod,which is a major limiting factor defining its north-to-south cultivation range.The long-juvenile(LJ)trait is controlled primarily by the J locus which has been used for decades by soybean breeders to delay flowering and improve grain yield in tropical regions.The J gene encodes an ortholog of the Arabidopsis Evening Complex(EC)component EARLY FLOWERING 3(ELF3).To identify modifiers of J,we conducted a forward genetic screen and isolated a mutant(eoj57)that in combination with j has longer flowering delay compared with j single mutant plants.Map-based cloning and genome re-sequencing identified eoj57(designated as GmLUX2)as an ortholog of the Arabidopsis EC component LUX ARRHYTHMO(LUX).To validate that GmLUX2 is a modifier of J,we used trans-complementation and identified a natural variant allele with a similar phenotype.We also show that GmLUX2 physically interacts with GmELF3a/b and binds DNA,whereas the mutant and natural variant are attenuated in both activities.Transcriptome analysis shows that the GmLUX2-GmELF3a complex co-regulates the expression of several circadian clock-associated genes and directly represses E1 expression.These results provide mechanistic insight into how GmLUX2-GmELF3 controls flowering time via synergistic regulation of gene expression.These novel insights expand our understanding of the regulation of the EC complex,and facilitate the development of soybean varieties adapted for growth at lower latitudes.Xiaolong Fang Yapeng Han Mengshi Liu Jiacan Jiang Xiang Li Qichao Lian Xianrong Xie Yian Huang Qibin Ma Hai Nian Ji Qi Cunyi Yang Yingxiang Wang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,2:3
11Changes in brain functional network connectivity after stroke显示文摘Studies have shown that functional network connection models can be used to study brain network changes in patients with schizophrenia.In this study,we inferred that these models could also be used to explore functional network connectivity changes in stroke patients.We used independent component analysis to find the motor areas of stroke patients,which is a novel way to determine these areas.In this study,we collected functional magnetic resonance imaging datasets from healthy controls and right-handed stroke patients following their first ever stroke.Using independent component analysis,six spatially independent components highly correlated to the experimental paradigm were extracted.Then,the functional network connectivity of both patients and controls was established to observe the differences between them.The results showed that there were 11 connections in the model in the stroke patients,while there were only four connections in the healthy controls.Further analysis found that some damaged connections may be compensated for by new indirect connections or circuits produced after stroke.These connections may have a direct correlation with the degree of stroke rehabilitation.Our findings suggest that functional network connectivity in stroke patients is more complex than that in healthy controls,and that there is a compensation loop in the functional network following stroke.This implies that functional network reorganization plays a very important role in the process of rehabilitation after stroke.Wei Li Yapeng Li Wenzhen Zhu Xi Chen 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,1:3
12Photosynthesis of Populus euphratica and its response to elevated CO_2 concentration in an arid environment显示文摘The photosynthetic characterization of Populus euphratica and its response to the elevated carbon dioxide concentration ([CO2]) were analyzed based on its net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (gs), intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), transpiration rate (Tr), and water use effciency (WUE) at different groundwater depths measured by a portable gas exchange system (LI-6400) in the lower reaches of the Tarim River. The results showed that the elevation of [CO2] decreased the gs, and increased the Pn, Ci and WUE of P. euphratica. However, the effects of the elevated [CO2] on gs, Pn, Ci and WUE varied considerably with groundwater depth. The response of photosynthesis to rising [CO2] was stronger at the greater groundwater depth (more than 6 m) than that at the shallower groundwater depth (less than 6 m). The critical groundwater depth required to maintain the normal survival of P. euphratica was less than 6 m. 13Thermal influence of ponding and buried warm-oil pipelines on permafrost: a case study of the China-Russia Crude Oil Pipeline显示文摘Buried pipelines are widely used for transporting oil in remote cold regions. However, the warm oil can induce considerable thermal influence on the surrounding frozen soils and result in severe maintenance problems. This paper presents a case study of the thermal influence of ponding and buried warm-oil pipelines on permafrost along the China-Russia Crude Oil Pipeline(CRCOP) in Northeast China. Since its operation in 2011, the operation of the warm-oil pipelines has led to rapid warming and thawing of the surrounding permafrost and development of sizable ponding along the pipeline route,which, in return, exacerbates the permafrost degradation. A field study was conducted along a 400-km long segment of the CRCOP in permafrost regions of Northeast China to collect the location and size information of ponding. A two-dimensional heat transfer model coupled with phase change was established to analyze the thermal influence of ponding and the operation of warm-oil pipelines on the surrounding permafrost. In-situ measured ground temperatures from a monitoring site were obtained to validate the numerical model. The simulation results show that ponding accelerates the development of the thaw bulb around the pipeline. The maximum thaw depth below the pipeline increases from 4 m for the case without ponding to 9 m for the case with ponding after 50 years of operation, and ponding directly above the pipe induces the maximum thaw depth. 18Force-controlled Compensation Scheme for P-Q Valve-controlled Asymmetric Cylinder used on Hydraulic Quadruped Robots显示文摘Under the requirement of the force controller of hydraulic quadruped robots,the goal of this work is to accurately track the force commands at the level of the hydraulic drive unit.The main contribution focuses on the development of a force-controlled compensation scheme,which is specifically aimed at the key issues affecting the hydraulic quadrupedal locomotion.With this idea,based on a P-Q valve-controlled asymmetric cylinder,we first establish a mathematical model for the hydraulic drive unit force control system.With the desired force commands,a force feed-forward algorithm is presented to improve the dynamic performance of the system.Meanwhile,we propose a disturbance compensation algorithm to reduce the influence induced by external disturbances due to foot-ground impacts.Afterwards,combining with a variable gain PI controller,a series of experiments are implemented on a force control performance test platform to verify the proposed scheme.The results demonstrate that the force-controlled compensation scheme has the ability to notably improve the force tracking accuracy,reduce the response time and redundant force.Yapeng Shi Mantian Li Fusheng Zha Lining Sun Wei Guo Cong Ma Zhibin Li 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,6:1
