1Direct Transmission of Digital Message via Programmable Coding Metasurface显示文摘In modern wireless communications,digital information is frstly converted to analog signal by a digital-analog convertor,which is then mixed to high-frequency microwave to be transmitted through a series of devices including modulator,mixer,amplifer,flter,and antenna and is fnally received by terminals via a reversed process.Although the wireless communication systems have evolved signifcantly over the past thirty years,the basic architecture has not been challenged.Here,we propose a method to transmit digital information directly via programmable coding metasurface.Since the coding metasurface is composed of‘0’and‘1’digital units with opposite phase responses,the digital information can be directly modulated to the metasurface with certain coding sequences and sent to space under the illumination of feeding antenna.Te information,being modulated in radiation patterns of the metasurface,can be correctly received by multiple receivers distributed in diferent locations.Tis method provides a completely new architecture for wireless communications without using complicated digital-analog convertor and a series of active/passive microwave devices.We build up a prototype to validate the new architecture experimentally,which may fnd promising applications where information security is highly demanded.Tie Jun Cui Shuo Liu Guo Dong Bai Qian Ma 2019Research2019,,1:20
2Addition of prokinetics to PPI therapy in gastroesophageal reflux disease:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the efficacy of adding prokinetics to proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).METHODS:PubMed,Cochrane Library,and Web of Knowledge databases(prior to October 2013)were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that compared therapeutic efficacy of PPI alone(single therapy)or PPI plus prokinetics(combined therapy)for GERD.The primary outcome of those selected trials was complete or partial relief of non-erosive reflux disease symptoms or mucosal healing in erosive reflux esophagitis.Using the test of heterogeneity,we established a fixed or random effects model where the risk ratio was the primary readout for measuring efficacy.RESULTS:Twelve RCTs including 2403 patients in total were enrolled in this study.Combined therapy was not associated with significant relief of symptoms or alterations in endoscopic response relative to single therapy(95%CI:1.0-1.2,P=0.05;95%CI:0.66-2.61,P=0.44).However,combined therapy was associated with a greater symptom score change(95%CI:2.14-3.02,P<0.00001).Although there was a reduction in the number of reflux episodes in GERD[95%CI:-5.96-(-1.78),P=0.0003]with the combined therapy,there was no significant effect on acid exposure time(95%CI:-0.37-0.60,P=0.65).The proportion of patients with adverse effects undergoing combined therapy was significantly higher than for PPI therapy alone(95%CI:1.06-1.36,P=0.005)when the difference between 5-HT receptor agonist and PPI combined therapy and single therapy(95%CI:0.84-1.39,P=0.53)was excluded.CONCLUSION:Combined therapy may partially improve patient quality of life,but has no significant effect on symptom or endoscopic response of GERD.Li-Hua Ren Wei-Xu Chen Li-Juan Qian Shuo Li Min Gu Rui-Hua Shi 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,9:14
3Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities.Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:10

5Emerging transporter-targeted nanoparticulate drug delivery systems显示文摘Transporter-targeted nanoparticulate drug delivery systems(nano-DDS) have emerged as promising nanoplatforms for efficient drug delivery. Recently, great progress in transporter-targeted strategies has been made, especially with the rapid developments in nanotherapeutics. In this review, we outline the recent advances in transporter-targeted nano-DDS. First, the emerging transporter-targeted nano-DDS developed to facilitate oral drug delivery are reviewed. These include improvements in the oral absorption of protein and peptide drugs, facilitating the intravenous-to-oral switch in cancer chemotherapy. Secondly, the recent advances in transporter-assisted brain-targeting nano-DDS are discussed,focusing on the specific transporter-based targeting strategies. Recent developments in transportermediated tumor-targeting drug delivery are also discussed. 6Migraine and stroke显示文摘Migraines are generally considered a relatively benign neurological condition.However,research has shown an association between migraines and stroke,and especially between migraine with aura and ischaemic stroke.Patients can also suffer from migrainous infarction,a subset of ischaemic stroke that often occurs in the posterior circulation of younger women.The exact pathogenesis of migrainous infarct is not known,but it is theorised that the duration and local neuronal energy level from cortical spreading depression may be a key factor.Other factors contributing to migrainous infarct may include vascular,inflammatory,endothelial structure,patent foramen ovale,gender,oral contraceptive pill use and smoking.Vasoconstrictors such as the triptan and ergot class are commonly used to treat migraines and may also play a role.Migraine is also shown to be correlated to haemorrhagic stroke,although studies do not demonstrate causation versus association,and further studies are warranted.There are also some rare genetic diseases such as cerebral autosomal-dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy,retinal vasculopathy with cerebral leukodystrophy and others,which can cause both migraines and infarcts.On imaging,many migraineurs are found to have white matter changes similar to those seen in patients with stroke.These may be caused in part by alterations in resting cerebral blood flow and vasoconstrictor use.In treating patients with migraines,it is important to identify and modify any vascular risk factors such as hypertension,smoking,oral contraceptive pill use and lifestyle factors.Further studies will determine if more aggressive treatment of migraines can ultimately lead to fewer strokes in this population.Yonghua Zhang Aasheeta Parikh Shuo Qian 2017Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,3:8
7MmNet:Identifying Mikania micrantha Kunth in the wild via a deep Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘Mikania micrantha Kunth is an invasive alien weed and known as a plant killer around the world.Accurately and rapidly identifying M.micrantha in the wild is important for monitoring its growth status,as this helps management officials to take the necessary steps to devise a comprehensive strategy to control the invasive weed in the identified area.However,this approach still mainly depends on satellite remote sensing and manual inspection.The cost is high and the accuracy rate and efficiency are low.We acquired color images of the monitoring area in the wild environment using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)and proposed a novel network-MmNet-based on a deep Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)to identify M.micrantha in the images.The network consists of AlexNet Local Response Normalization(LRN),along with the GoogLeNet and continuous convolution of VGG inception models.After training and testing,the identification of 400 testing samples by MmNet is very good,with accuracy of 94.50%and time cost of 10.369 s.Moreover,in quantitative comparative analysis,the proposed MmNet not only has high accuracy and efficiency but also simple construction and outstanding repeatability.Compared with recently popular CNNs,MmNet is more suitable for the identification of M.micrantha in the wild.However,to meet the challenge of wild environments,more M.micrantha images need to be acquired for MmNet training.In addition,the classification labels need to be sorted in more detail.Altogether,this research provides some theoretical and scientific basis for the development of intelligent monitoring and early warning systems for M.micrantha and other invasive species.QIAO Xi LI Yan-zhou SU Guang-yuan TIAN Hong-kun ZHANG Shuo SUN Zhong-yu YANG Long WAN Fang-hao QIAN Wan-qiang 2020Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,5:7
8Serum microRNA-221 as a biomarker for diabetic retinopathy in patients associated with type 2 diabetes显示文摘AIM: To investigate the candidate microRNA(miRNA), miR-221 as a novel biomarker for diabetic retinopathy(DR) in patients associated with type 2 diabetes(T2D).METHODS: The subjects involved were divided into four groups: healthy control(HC), no diabetic retinopathy(NDR), non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR) and proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR) group. Serum miR-221 was validated by real-time quantitative reversetranscription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR). Also, serum angiotensin II(Ang II) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) were examined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. In addition, receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was performed to explore the diagnostic accuracy of miR-221, Ang Ⅱ and VEGF for DR in patients with T2D. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was executed to estimate the correlations of serum miR-221 with metabolic parameters and serum markers in patients with T2D.RESULTS: Primarily, serum miR-221, Ang Ⅱ and VEGF were increased significantly in T2D patients compared to HC participant respectively, and progressive up-regulated in NDR, NPDR and PDR groups(P<0.001). Additionally, miR-221 in serum was remarkably positively correlatedwith metabolic parameters such as glycated hemoglobin(r=0.310, P=0.002) and homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance(r=0.413, P<0.001), as well as serum markers for instance Ang Ⅱ(r=0.667, P<0.001) and VEGF(r=0.499, P<0.001). Furthermore, serum miR-221(AUC, 0.894; 95%CI, 0.833-0.955; P<0.001), Ang Ⅱ(AUC, 0.888; 95%CI, 0.828-0.949; P<0.001) and VEGF(AUC, 0.785; 95%CI, 0.695-0.875; P<0.001) had evidently diagnostic efficiency in DR, and miR-221 is the most effective among them.CONCLUSION: Serum miR-221 as a potential biomarker could be related to not only occurrence but also progression for DR in patients with T2D. 9Promoter methylation of Wnt/β-Catenin signal inhibitor TMEM88 is associated with unfavorable prognosis of nonsmall cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:Recent research has indicated that altered promoter methylation of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes is an important mechanism in lung cancer development and progression.In this study,we investigated the association between promoter methylation of TMEM88,a possible inhibitor of the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling,and the survival of patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Twelve pairs of tumor and adjacent non-tumor samples were used for microarray analyses of DNA methylation and gene expression.For validation,more than two hundred additional samples were analyzed for methylation using bisulfite pyrosequencing and for gene expression using q RT-PCR.Then the cell function were tested by wound healing,transwell,CCK8 and cell cycle assay.Results:Our analysis of patient specimens showed that TMEM88 methylation was higher in NSCLC tumors(82.2%±10.3,P<0.01)compared with the adjacent normal tissues(65.9%±7.2).The survival analysis revealed that patients with high TMEM88methylation had a shorter overall survival(46 months)compared with patients with low TMEM88 methylation(>56 months;P=0.021).In addition,we found that demethylation treatment could inhibit tumor cell proliferation,migration,and invasion,which was supportive of an association between methylation and survival.Conclusions:Based on these consistent observations,we concluded that TMEM88 may play an important role in NSCLC progression and that promoter methylation of TMEM88 may serve as a biomarker for NSCLC prognosis and treatment.Rongna Ma Nannan Feng Xiao Yu Hongyan Lin Xiaohong Zhang Oumin Shi Huan Zhang Shuo Zhang Lei Li Min Zheng Ming Gao Herbert Yu Biyun Qian 2017Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,4:6
10Topologically Protected Edge State in Two-Dimensional Su–Schrieffer–Heeger Circuit显示文摘Topological circuits,an exciting feld just emerged over the last two years,have become a very accessible platform for realizing and exploring topological physics,with many of their physical phenomena and potential applications as yet to be discovered.In this work,we design and experimentally demonstrate a topologically nontrivial band structure and the associated topologically protected edge states in an RF circuit,which is composed of a collection of grounded capacitors connected by alternating inductors in the x and y directions,in analogy to the Su–Schriefer–Heeger model.We take full control of the topological invariant(i.e.,Zak phase)as well as the gap width of the band structure by simply tuning the circuit parameters.Excellent agreement is found between the experimental and simulation results,both showing obvious nontrivial edge state that is tightly bound to the circuit boundaries with extreme robustness against various types of defects.Te demonstration of topological properties in circuits provides a convenient and fexible platform for studying topological materials and the possibility for developing fexible circuits with highly robust circuit performance.Shuo Liu Wenlong Gao Qian Zhang Shaojie Ma Lei Zhang Changxu Liu Yuan Jiang Xiang Tie Jun Cui Shuang Zhang 2019Research2019,,1:6
11A remote sensing monitoring method for alpine grasslands desertification in the eastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Alpine grassland is the typical vegetation in the eastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau,which has important ecological service functions,and also supports the development of alpine stock farming.In recent years,under both the natural and human disturbance,alpine grasslands in this area have appeared to different degrees of desertification.A diagnosis of the desertification degree serves as the basis for grassland ecological restoration.This study constructs a comprehensive index based on remote sensing called alpine grassland desertification index(AGDI)to monitor the areas and degree of desertification.The most relevant indicators of desertification,namely,vegetation fraction,aboveground biomass,soil moisture,and land surface temperature,were selected to establish AGDI.The geographical detector is used to reselect and assess these indicators.The results show that the overall verification accuracy of AGDI is 82.05%.In particular,the accuracy of identifying severe desertification is the highest.Our study confirms that the desertification of alpine grasslands in the eastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau is characterized by fragmentation.Thus,Landsat-8 OLI data with a spatial resolution of 30 m is more suitable than MODIS data for alpine grasslands desertification monitoring.The research results can provide a methodological reference for monitoring desertification of alpine grasslands and other grassland regions in the world.KUANG Qian YUAN Quan-zhi HAN Ji-chong LENG Rong WANG Yu-shuang ZHU Ke-hong LIN Shuo REN Ping 2020Journal of Mountain Science2020,17,6:4

16Effects of freeze–thaw cycles on soil N_2O concentration and flux in the permafrost regions of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Nitrous oxide(N_2 O) is one of the most important greenhouse gases in the atmosphere; freeze–thaw cycles(FTCs) might strongly influence the emission of soil N_2 O on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau(QTP). However, there is a lack of in situ research on the characteristics of soil N_2 O concentration and flux in response to variations in soil properties caused by FTCs.Here, we report the effect of FTC-induced changes in soil properties on the soil N_2 O concentration and flux in the permafrost region of the higher reaches of the Shule River Basin on the northeastern margin of the QTP. We measured chemical properties of the topsoil, activities of soil microorganisms, and air temperature(AT), as well as soil N_2 O concentration and flux, over an annual cycle from July 31, 2011, to July 30, 2012. The results showed that soil N_2 O concentration was significantly affected by soil temperature(ST), soil moisture(SM), soil salinity(SS), soil polyphenol oxidase(SPO), soil alkaline phosphatase(SAP), and soil culturable actinomycetes(SCA), ranked as SM>SS>ST>SPO>SAP>SCA, whereas ST significantly increased soil N_2 O flux, compared with SS. 17Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 19National Nutrition and Health Systematic Survey for Children 0–17 Years of Age in China显示文摘The main purpose of the National Nutrition and Health Systematic Survey for children 0-17 years of age in China(CNHSC)was to collect basic data on the nutrition,development,and health status for children in different regions across China using evidence-based,reliable,and cost-effective approaches.Children and their parents or guardians from seven regions(south,southwest,north,northwest,eastern,central,and northeast China)in China were recruited.A multi-stage stratified randomized sampling method was used.Two provinces were randomly sampled from each of the seven regions,from which one urban district and one rural country were also randomly sampled,resulting in a total of 28 survey counties/districts.Dietary surveys,health examinations,laboratory testing,and questionnaires were used to collect dietary intake,nutritional status,child development,and health status information.Nutrition,health,and lifestyle assessment of children and their parents was determined using the Knowledge Attitude Practice(KAP)survey.Greater than 100,000 children(38,000 children<6 years of age and 66,000 children6-17 years of age)completed the survey.The survey provided comprehensive data on child nutrition and health status for future studies and will serve as the basis for an integrated nutrition and health improvement strategies proposal for children in China.YANG Zhen Yu ZHANG Qian ZHAI Yi XU Tao WANG Yu Ying CHEN Bo Wen TANG Xue Jun YUAN Xiao Lin FANG Hong Yun ZHU Yan PANG Xue Hong WANG Shuo XU Juan LI Rui Li SI Xiang ZHAO Wen Hua 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,11:3
20Octupole corner state in a three-dimensional topological circuit显示文摘Higher-order topological insulators(HOTIs)represent a new family of topological materials featuring quantized bulk polarizations and zero-dimensional corner states.In recent years,zero-dimensional corner states have been demonstrated in two-dimensional systems in the form of quadrupole modes or dipole modes.Due to the challenges in designing and constructing three-dimensional systems,octupole corner modes in 3D have not been observed.In this work,we experimentally investigate octupole topological phases in a three-dimensional electrical circuit,which can be viewed as a cubic lattice version of the Hofstadter model with aπ-flux threading each plaquette.We experimentally observe in our higher-order topological circuit a 0D corner state manifested as a localized impedance peak.The observed corner state in the electrical circuit is induced by the octupole moment of the bulk circuit and is topologically protected by anticommuting spatial symmetries of the circuit lattice.Our work provides a platform for investigating higher-order topological effects in three-dimensional electrical circuits.Shuo Liu Shaojie Ma Qian Zhang Lei Zhang Cheng Yang Oubo You Wenlong Gao Yuanjiang Xiang Tie Jun Cui Shuang Zhang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3
