2Effect of Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats显示文摘OBJEVTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Cyclocarya paliurus(C.paliurus)polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats.METHODS:Rats were divided into 6 groups,including group of normal control,group of diabetic control,group of metformin treatment,low-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,middle-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment and high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment.Histological analysis of kidney was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin.Levels of blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid were determined by spectrophotometry.Anti-oxidative enzymes were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Advanced glycation end products(AGEs)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)level was measured by ELISA.RESULTS:Abnormal changes were observed in the group of diabetic control characterized by atrophy of the renal glomeruli with hypercellularity,congestion of glomerular tufts,dilation of the renal spaces,and degeneration of renal tubule.Compared with that of normal group,blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level was significantly increased in the group of diabetic control.Superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,glutathione reductase level was significantly decreased,but AGEs and TGF-β1 level was significantly increased.By contrast,administration of C.paliurus polysaccharides and metformin could reverse the above-mentioned results of the group of diabetic control,especially in the high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides.CONCLUSION:Our findings suggest that C.paliurus polysaccharides may play a protecting role for nephropathy of diabetic rats by lowering glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level,enhancing the antioxidative ability,and reducing AGEs and TGF-β1 expression.Xia Xichao Mao Dongxue Dai Hongmei Wu Xi Zhang Zuyuan Wang Huaying Zhou Wenwen Dong Yanmei Wang Mengqi Li Yuan Shao Xiangyang Ouyang Jingfeng 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6:9

4Hierarchical activation of compartmentalized pools of AMPK depends on severity of nutrient or energy stress显示文摘AMPK, a master regulator of metabolic homeostasis, is activated by both AMP-dependent and AMP-independent mechanisms. The conditions under which these different mechanisms operate, and their biological implications are unclear. Here, we show that, depending on the degree of elevation of cellular AMP, distinct compartmentalized pools of AMPK are activated, phosphorylating different sets of targets. Low glucose activates AMPK exclusively through the AMP-independent, AXIN-based pathway in lysosomes to phosphorylate targets such as ACC1 and SREBP1c, exerting early anti-anabolic and pro-catabolic roles. Moderate increases in AMP expand this to activate cytosolic AMPK also in an AXIN-dependent manner. In contrast, high concentrations of AMP, arising from severe nutrient stress, activate all pools of AMPK independently of AXIN. Surprisingly, mitochondrion-localized AMPK is activated to phosphorylate ACC2 and mitochondrial fission factor (MFF) only during severe nutrient stress. 5Performance and microbial community of a membrane bioreactor system--Treating wastewater from ethanol fermentation of food waste显示文摘In this study, a lab-scale biological anaerobic/anaerobic/anoxic/membrane bioreactor(A_-~3MBR) was designed to treat wastewater from the ethanol fermentation of food waste,a promising way for the disposal of food waste and reclamation of resources. The 454 pyrosequencing technique was used to investigate the composition of the microbial community in the treatment system. The system yielded a stable effluent concentration of chemical oxygen demand(202 ± 23 mg/L), total nitrogen(62.1 ± 7.1 mg/L), ammonia(0.3 ±0.13 mg/L) and total phosphorus(8.3 ± 0.9 mg/L), and the reactors played different roles in specific pollutant removal. The exploration of the microbial community in the system revealed that:(1) the microbial diversity of anaerobic reactors A_1 and A_2, in which organic pollutants were massively degraded, was much higher than that in anoxic A_3 and aerobic MBR;(2) although the community composition in each reactor was quite different, bacteria assigned to the classes Clostridia, Bacteroidia, and Synergistia were important and common microorganisms for organic pollutant degradation in the anaerobic units, and bacteria from Alphaproteobacteria and Betaproteobacteria were the dominant microbial population in A_3 and MBR;(3) the taxon identification indicated that Arcobacter in the anaerobic reactors and Thauera in the anoxic reactor were two representative genera in the biological process. 6Short-term environmental enrichment exposure induces proliferation and maturation of doublecortin-positive cells in the prefrontal cortex显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated that doublecortin-positive immature neurons exist predominantly in the superficial layer of the cerebral cortex of adult mammals such as guinea pigs, and these neurons exhibit very weak properties of self-proliferation during adulthood under physiological conditions. To verify whether environmental enrichment has an impact on the proliferation and maturation of these immature neurons in the prefrontal cortex of adult guinea pigs, healthy adult guinea pigs were subjected to short-term environmental enrichment. Animals were allowed to play with various cognitive and physical stimulating objects over a period of 2 weeks, twice per day, for 60 minutes each. Immunofluorescence staining results indicated that the number of doublecortin-positive cells in layer II of the prefrontal cortex was significantly increased after short-term environmental enrichment exposure. In addition, these doublecortin-positive cells co-expressed 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine(a marker of cell proliferation), c-Fos(a marker of cell viability) and NeuN(a marker of mature neurons). 7Infection and Colonization of Pathogenic Fungus Fusarium proliferatum in Rice Spikelet Rot Disease显示文摘Rice spikelet rot disease(RSRD), caused by Fusarium proliferatum, is an emerging disease. So far, the effects of diseased rice floral organs as well as the primary infection sites and stages of this pathogen are not determined. We investigated changes in the floral organs, along with the infection processes of the pathogen in plants inoculated with F. proliferatum and labelled with a green fluorescent protein during different growth stages of rice. The results showed that RSRD is not a systemic infectious disease, which has negative effects on the fertility of the infected rice. F. proliferatum caused brown colored anthers, crinkled pistils and ovaries, pollen grain deformities and anther indehiscence. The number of pollen grains on the stigmas decreased significantly in the infected spikelets, and the anther dehiscence and seed-setting rate successively declined by 69% and 73%, respectively, as a result of the infection. The initial infection stage occurred at the pollen cell maturity stage, and the primary invasion sites were determined to be the anthers of rice. 8Temperature dependent conductivity of Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) ceramics induced by Sr dopants显示文摘Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) is an important lead-free ferroelectric material.Doping modification of Bi_4Ti_3O_(12)has attracted great attention to improving its performances.In this work,the effect of Sr dopants on the microstructure,dielectric,and conductivity of Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) ceramic was investigated by XRD,SEM,and AC impedance spectroscopy.Substitution of 1 at%Sr for Bi decreased the grain size,suppressed the dielectric dispersion of Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) ceramic at room temperature,and resulted in different effects on the conductivity of grains and grain boundaries.The conductivity of grains in Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) ceramic was increased by the small amount of Sr dopants in the whole experimental temperature range.While the grain boundaries of 1 at%Sr-doped Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) exhibited lower conductivity than pure Bi_4Ti_3O_(12) below~380℃and higher conductivity above~380℃.The experimental phenomena were interpreted in term of compensating defects for Sr dopants.Lin WANG Mengqi GUI Hai-Bo JIN Xinyuan HU Yongjie ZHAO Naseer Muhammad ADNAN Jing-Bo LI 2018Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018,7,3:3
9The interaction of CaM7 and CNGC14 regulates root hair growth in Arabidopsis显示文摘Oscillations in cytosolic free calcium determine the polarity of tip-growing root hairs.The Ca2+channel cyclic nucleotide gated channel 14(CNGC14)contributes to the dynamic changes in Ca^2+concentration gradient at the root hair tip.However,the mechanisms that regulate CNGC14 are unknown.In this study,we detected a direct interaction between calmodulin 7(CaM7)and CNGC14 through yeast two-hybrid and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays.We demonstrated that the third EF-hand domain of CaM7 specifically interacts with the cytosolic C-terminal domain of CNGC14.A two-electrode voltage clamp assay showed that CaM7 completely inhibitsCNGC14-mediated Ca2+influx,suggesting that CaM7 neg-atively regulates CNGC14-mediated calcium signaling.Fur-thermore,CaM7 overexpressing lines phenocopy the short root hair phenotype of a cngc14 mutant and this phenotype is insensitive to changes in external Ca^2+concentrations.We,thus,identified CaM7-CNGC14 as a novel interacting module that regulates polar growth in root hairs by con-trolling the tip-focused Ca2+signal.Qudsia Zeb Xiaohan Wang Congcong Hou Xiwen Zhang Mengqi Dong Sisi Zhang Qian Zhang Zhijie Ren Wang Tian Huifen Zhu Legong Li Liangyu Liu 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,7:3
10Development of 'Multi-Resistance Rice' by Pyramiding of Insect (Cry1C) and Blast Resistance (Pi1 and Pi2) Genes显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to improve the blast resistance of insect-resistant transgenic rice. [Method] The Japonica rice variety Jikang10, a new transgenic variety with exogenous insect-resistant gene Cry1C, was used as the receptor, and Kongyu 131, a traditional breeding variety with broad-spectrum high blast resistance genes Pi1 and Pi2, was used as the donor to breeding new rice varieties. The genes were polymerized by hybridization and multi-generation backcrossing, and the offspring of each generation was screened by molecular marker assisted selection, field identification of multi-resistance against insect pests and diseases and agronomic trait selection. [Result] Four lines SK01, SK02, SK03 and SK04 with better resistances to insect pests and blast and outstanding agronomic traits in field were selected. 11Macroporous 3D carbon-nitrogen(CN)confined MoO_(x) catalyst for enhanced oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene显示文摘Macroporous 3D carbon doped with nitrogen confined Mo catalyst(MoO_(x)@CN)had been prepared by a facile one-step pyrolysis technique using silica as a template and was employed for oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of dibenzothiophene(DBT)in model fuel with H2O_(2) as oxidant.The effect of different ope rating conditions(i.e.,reaction te mperature and time,catalyst dosage,H2O_(2)/DBT(O/S)molar ratio)were also systematic investigated.Under the optimal reaction condition,MoO_(x)@CN catalyst exhibited highly excellent ODS performance toward DBT,the highest sulfur removal efficiency can be up to 99.9%and sulfur content was wiped out from 800 ppm to 10 ppm.Due to the robust 3D structure promoting rapid transfer,in addition to the increased number of active sites induced by the Mo vacancies,the catalyst,prepared using chitosan and ammonium heptamolybdate in a mass ratio of 1:0.5,displayed rapid kinetics and low activation energy in the oxidation of dibenzothiophene.Moreover,it exhibited excellent recyclability after five cycles without any obvious decrease in catalytic activity for the oxidative desulfurization reaction.Jinmei Ye Jie Wen Dongdong Zhao Peilun Zhang Airong Li Lianhong Zhang Hui Zhang Mengqi Wu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:3

13Operation Efficiency and Influencing Factors of Listed Companies of Swine Industry:Empirical Analysis Based on Data of 16 Listed Companies in 2010-2014显示文摘Listed companies of the swine industry,as an important form of agricultural industrialized operation,are typical representatives of large-scale production and the level of their operation efficiency exerts a direct influence on the healthy development of the swine industry.Using the DEA-based Malmquist method,this paper made a static and dynamic evaluation of the operation efficiency of 16 listed companies in China's swine industry in 2010-2014. It obtained following results:( i) The overall efficiency of listed companies of China's swine industry remained at high level and the development trend was excellent.( ii) Different types of enterprises had difference in the overall efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. 14Analysis of TM/TE mode enhancement and droop reduction by a nanoporous n-AIGaN underlayer in a 290 nm UV-LED显示文摘A full structure 290 nm ultraviolet light emitting diode(UV-LED)with a nanoporous n-AlGaN underlayer was fabricated by top via hole formation followed by high-voltage electrochemical etching.The 20 to 120 nm nanopores were prepared in regular doped n-AlGaN by adjusting the etching voltage.The comparison between the Raman spectrum and the photoluminescence wavelength shows that the biaxial stress in the nanoporous material is obviously relaxed.The photoluminescence enhancement was found to be highly dependent on the size of the pores.It not only improves the extraction efficiency of top-emitting transverse-electric(TE)-mode photons but also greatly improves the efficiency of side emitting tran sverse-magnetic(TM)-mode photons.This leads to the polarization change of the side-emitting light from-0.08 to-0.242.The intensity of the electroluminescence was increased by 36.5%at 100 mA,and the efficiency droop at high current was found to decrease from 61%to 31%.YUFENG LI CHENYU WANG YE ZHANG PENG HU SHENGNAN ZHANG MENGQI DU XILIN SU QIANG LI FENG YUN 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:2
15Comparisons of plant calcium fraction between two different vegetation zones in semi-arid region显示文摘To explore the characteristics of plant calcium(Ca) fraction, we analyzed 91 plant species in the Ningxia Habahu National Nature Reserve in Yanchi County of Ningxia and 84 plant species in Zhenglan Banner of Inner Mongolia. Results show that, for the two regions, there is no significant difference between Ca fraction for the same growth type, and between water soluble Ca content or between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for plants of the same ecosystem and between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for plants of the same family. In similar vegetation zones, there is a significant difference among hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for different growth types in Yanchi County and Zhenglan Banner,which was the highest for annual herbs and the lowest for perennial herbs. There is a significant difference between acetic acid soluble Ca content and between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for sandy land and grassland ecosystems in Yanchi County. There is a significant difference among the same Ca fraction of different families in the same region. 16Unraveling specific role of carbon matrix over Pd/quasi-Ce-MOF facilitating toluene enhanced degradation显示文摘Metal organic frameworks(MOFs)derivatives represented by quasi-MOFs have excellent physical and chemical properties and can be applied for the catalytic combustion of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).In this work,Pd/quasi-Ce-BTC synthesized by simple one-step Npyrolysis was applied to the oxidation of toluene,showing excellent toluene catalytic activity(T_(90)=175℃,30000 mL/(g·h)).Microscopic analyses indicate the formation and interaction of a carbon matrix composite quasi-MOF structure interface.The results show that the amorphous carbon matrix formed during the partial pyrolysis of Ce-BTC significantly improves the adsorption and activation capacity of toluene in the reaction,and constructs a reductive system to maintain high concentrations of Ce^(3+)and Pd^(0),which can facilitate the activation and utilization of oxygen in reaction.Quasi in-situ XPS proves that carbon matrix is indirectly involved in the activation and storage of oxygen,and Pd^(0)is the crucial active site for the activation of oxygen.Stability and water resistance tests display good stability of Pd/quasi-Ce-BTC.This work provides a potential method for designing quasi-MOF catalysts towards VOCs effective abatement.Chunjing Su Zhi Li Mengqi Mao Wenhua Ye Jinping Zhong Quanming Ren Hairong Cheng Haomin Huang Mingli Fu Junliang Wu Yun Hu Daiqi Ye Haihong Xu 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,11:2
17Physicochemical properties and volatile components of pea flour fermented by Lactobacillus rhamnosus L08显示文摘Pea(Pisum sativum L.)is an important source of plant proteins.However,the use of pea flour as a food ingredient is greatly limited due to its strong beany flavor.In this work,we investigated the effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus L08(L.rhamnosus L08)fermentation on the physicochemical characteristics,amino acids composition and volatile flavor compounds of pea flour.We found that L.rhamnosus L08 had the probiotic potential of utilizing pea flour as fermentation substrate.L.rhamnosus L08 fermentation significantly increased the content of most amino acids,and total amino acid content increased from 222.18 mg/g at 0 h to 262.35 mg/g at 6 h.A total of 44 volatile compounds were identified in pea flour.L.rhamnosus L08 fermentation increased the variety of acids and esters,while reduced the unpleasant flavor such as nonanal,decanal,octanal,1-hexanol and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol.The emulsifying stability and foam stability of pea flour were slightly enhanced during fermentation.Our results illustrate that lactic acid bacteria fermentation is a promising approach to eliminate undesirable aroma of pea flour.Moreover,this study provides theoretical support for the application of peas as high-quality protein source.Mengqi Pei Zifu Zhao Song Chen E.I.Reshetnik S.L.Gribanova Chun Li Guofang Zhang Libo Liu Lin Zhao 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:2

19A New Indicator for Global Food Security Assessment: Harvested Area Rather Than Cropland Area显示文摘Cropland area has long been used as a key indicator of food security.However,grain yield is not solely controlled by the area of the cropland.Therefore,we proposed a new indicator to assess food security.Results show that from 1992 to 2004,the global cropland area increased by 840200 km^(2)(99.4%),but the grain yield increased only by 310 million t(29.1%);and from 2004 to 2015,the cropland area decreased by 39000 km^(2)(4.64%),but the grain yield increased by 370 million t(70.84%).This result showed that grain yield was not linearly correlated with cropland area,and delimiting the threshold of cropland protection may not guarantee food security.Combined with further correlation analysis,we found that the increase in the global grain yield was more closely related to the harvested area(R^(2)=0.94),which indicated that the harvested area is a more scientific and accurate indicator than cropland area in terms of guaranteeing food security.Therefore,if governments want to ensure the food security,they should choose a new and more accurate indicator:harvested area rather than cropland area.SONG Fengjiao WANG Shijie BAI Xiaoyong WU Luhua WANG Jinfeng LI Chaojun CHEN Huan LUO Xuling XI Huipeng ZHANG Sirui LUO Guofeng YAN Mengqi ZHEN Qingqing 2022Chinese Geographical Science2022,32,2:2
20Large-scale experimental investigation of the effects of gas explosions in underdrains显示文摘This study involved the construction and explosion of a large-scale(80-meter-long)underdrain and detailed investigations of the damaging impacts of a gas explosion to provide an experimental foundation for similarity modeling and infrastructural designs.The experiment vividly recreated the scene and explosion damage of the'11.22″explosion accident in Qingdao,China,thus allowing for evaluations of the movements and destruction of the cover plates.The damage mechanism was determined by analyzing the overpressure curves inside and outside the underground canal.It was determined that the cover plates were first lifted by the precursor wave,which induced a maximum overpressure of 0.06 MPa and resulted in explosion venting.The pressure entered the deflagration stage at the end of the explosion.The combustion wave overpressure reached 3.115 MPa close to the initiation point,and had a significant influence on the projectile energy of the cover plates there.Overall,64%of the cover plates were only affected by the precursor wave,while 36%of the cover plates were subjected to both the precursor wave and the combustion wave;these cover plates were severely damaged.The results of this study provide fundamental insights relevant to the prevention and control of underdrain gas explosions.Longfei Hou Yuanzhi Li Xinming Qian Chi-Min Shu Mengqi Yuan Weike Duanmu 2021Journal of Safety Science and Resilience2021,2,2:2
