Note on a new fundamental length scale l instead of the Newtonian constant G显示文摘The newly proposed entropic gravity suggests gravity as an emergent force rather than a fundamental one. In this approach, the Newtonian constant G does not play a fundamental role any more, and a new fundamental constant is required to replace itsposition. This request also arises from some philosophical considerations to contemplate the physical foundations for the unificationof theories. We here consider the suggestion to derive G from more fundamental quantities in the presence of a new fundamentallength scale l, which is suspected to originate from the structure of quantum space-time, and can be measured directly from Lorentz-violating observations. Our results are relevant to the fundamental understanding of physics, and more practically, of natural units,as well as explanations of experimental constraints in searching for Lorentz violation. | SHAO LiJing MA BoQiang | 2011 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,10: | 1
Accretion in strong field gravity with eXTP显示文摘In this paper we describe the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to accretion flows in the strong field gravity regime around both stellar-mass and supermassive black-holes. eXTP has the unique capability of using advanced 'spectral-timing-polarimetry' techniques to analyze the rapid variations with three orthogonal diagnostics of the flow and its geometry, yielding unprecedented insight into the inner accreting regions, the effects of strong field gravity on the material within them and the powerful outflows which are driven by the accretion process. | Alessandra De Rosa Phil Uttley LiJun Gou Yuan Liu Cosimo Bambi Didier Barret Tomaso Belloni Emanuele Berti Stefano Bianchi Ilaria Caiazzo Piergiorgio Casella Marco Feroci Valeria Ferrari Leonardo Gualtieri Jeremy Heyl Adam Ingram Vladimir Karas FangJun Lu Bin Luo Giorgio Matt Sara Motta Joseph Neilsen Paolo Pani Andrea Santangelo XinWen Shu JunFeng Wang Jian-Min Wang YongQuan Xue YuPeng Xu WeiMin Yuan YeFei Yuan Shuang-Nan Zhang Shu Zhang Ivan Agudo Lorenzo Amati Nils Andersson Cristina Baglio Pavel Bakala Altan Baykal Sudip Bhattacharyya Ignazio Bombaci NiccolóBucciantini Fiamma Capitanio Riccardo Ciolfi Wei K.Cui Filippo D'Ammando Thomas Dauser Melania Del Santo Barbara De Marco Tiziana Di Salvo Chris Done Michal Dovciak Andrew C.Fabian Maurizio Falanga Angelo Francesco Gambino Bruce Gendre Victoria Grinberg Alexander Heger Jeroen Homan Rosario Iaria JiaChen Jiang ChiChuan Jin Elmar Koerding Manu Linares Zhu Liu Thomas J.Maccarone Julien Malzac Antonios Manousakis Frédéric Marin Andea Marinucci Missagh Mehdipour Mariano Méndez Simone Migliari Cole Miller Giovanni Miniutti Emanuele Nardini Paul T.O'Brien Julian P.Osborne Pierre Olivier Petrucci Andrea Possenti Alessandro Riggio Jerome Rodriguez Andrea Sanna LiJing Shao Malgosia Sobolewska Eva Sramkova Abigail L.Stevens Holger Stiele Giulia Stratta Zdenek Stuchlik Jiri Svoboda Fabrizio Tamburini Thomas M.Tauris Francesco Tombesi Gabriel Torok Martin Urbanec Frederic Vincent QingWen Wu Feng Yuan Jean J.M.in't Zand Andrzej A.Zdziarski XinLin Zhou | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2: | 1
Scientific objectives of the Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) mission显示文摘The Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) is a proposed space-based X-ray telescope for detecting X-ray emissions from the hot gas content in our universe. With its unprecedented spatially-resolved high-resolution spectroscopy and large field of view, the HUBS mission will be uniquely qualified to measure the physical and chemical properties of the hot gas in the interstellar medium, the circumgalactic medium, the intergalactic medium, and the intracluster medium. These measurements will be valuable for two key scientific goals of HUBS, namely to unravel the AGN and stellar feedback physics that governs the formation and evolution of galaxies, and to probe the baryon budget and multi-phase states from galactic to cosmological scales. In addition to these two goals, the HUBS mission will also help us solve some problems in the fields of galaxy clusters, AGNs, difuse X-ray backgrounds, supernova remnants, and compact objects. This paper discusses the perspective of advancing these fields using the HUBS telescope. | Joel Bregman Renyue Cen Yang Chen Wei Cui Taotao Fang Fulai Guo Edmund Hodges-Kluck Rui Huang Luis C.Ho Li Ji Suoqing Ji Xi Kang Xiaoyu Lai Hui Li Jiangtao Li Miao Li Xiangdong Li Yuan Li Zhaosheng Li Guiyun Liang Helei Liu Wenhao Liu Fangjun Lu Junjie Mao Gabriele Ponti Zhijie Qu Chenxi Shan Lijing Shao Fangzheng Shi Xinwen Shu Lei Sun Mouyuan Sun Hao Tong Junfeng Wang Junxian Wang Q.Daniel Wang Song Wang Tinggui Wang Weiyang Wang Zhongxiang Wang Dandan Xu Haiguang Xu Heng Xu Renxin Xu Xiaojie Xu Yongquan Xue Hang Yang Feng Yuan Shuinai Zhang Yuning Zhang Zhongli Zhang Yuanyuan Zhao Enping Zhou Ping Zhou | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,9: | 1

Tests of gravitational symmetries with radio pulsars显示文摘Symmetries play important roles in modern theories of physical laws. In this paper, we review several experimental tests of important symmetries associated with the gravitational interaction, including the universality of free fall for self-gravitating bodies,time-shift symmetry in the gravitational constant, local position invariance and local Lorentz invariance of gravity, and spacetime translational symmetries. Recent experimental explorations for post-Newtonian gravity are discussed, of which, those from pulsar astronomy are highlighted. All of these tests, of very different aspects of gravity theories, at very different length scales, favor to very high precision the predictions of the strong equivalence principle(SEP) and, in particular, general relativity which embodies SEP completely. As the founding principles of gravity, these symmetries are motivated to be promoted to even stricter tests in future. | LiJing Shao Norbert Wex | 2016 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2016,59,9: | 1

The Precursor of GRB211211A:A Tide-induced Giant Quake?显示文摘The equilibrium configuration of a solid strange star in the final inspiral phase with another compact object is generally discussed, and the starquake-related issue is revisited, for a special purpose to understand the precursor emission of binary compact star merger events(e.g.,that of GRB211211A).As the binary system inspirals inward due to gravitational wave radiation, the ellipticity of the solid strangeon star increases due to the growing tidal field of its compact companion.Elastic energy is hence accumulated during the inspiral stage which might trigger a starquake before the merger when the energy exceeds a critical value. The energy released during such starquakes is calculated and compared to the precursor observation of GRB211211 A.The result shows that the energy might be insufficient for binary strangeon-star case unless the entire solid strangeon star shatters, and hence favors a black hole-strangeon star scenario for GRB211211A.The timescale of the precursor as well as the frequency of the observed quasi-periodic-oscillation have also been discussed in the starquake model. | Enping Zhou Yong Gao Yurui Zhou Xiaoyu Lai Lijing Shao Weiyang Wang Shaolin Xiong Renxin Xu Shuxu Yi Garvin Yim Han Yue Zhen Zhang | 2024 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2024,24,2: | 0

Natural long-chain saturated fatty acids doped LNPs enabling spleen selective mRNA translation and potent cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Rationally tailored lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)with efficient and tunable delivery of mRNA in vivo are crucial for mRNA vaccines.Selective expression of antigenic protein in lymphoid tissues/organs could improve the immunostimulatory efficacy and safety of LNPs-based mRNA vaccines.Inspired by the metabolic behavior that long-chain saturated fatty acids tending to enter lymphoid tissue rather than the liver,we developed fatty acid-doped LNPs capable of mediating differential protein expressions in the liver and spleen when administered intravenously. When the molar ratio of saturated fatty acid located 60%–70%,the doped LNPs achieved the spleen selective mRNA translation. The mechanism could be attributed to the different cellular uptake behaviors of saturated fatty acids in hepatocytes.Immunization with a model antigen(ovalbumin)mRNA-loaded spleen selective LNPs,we observed enhanced antigen-specific T cell immune responses, and potent immunotherapeutic and immunoprophylactic efficacy in the mouse lymphoma model. Our natural long-chain saturated fatty acids metabolic characteristics-inspired design of LNPs for spleen-selective mRNA vaccines delivery will provide references for designing mRNA vaccines with high efficacy and safety for tumor immunotherapy. | Fazhan Wang Meng Zhang Meiling Tian Jia Lou Longze Pan Xiaoke Gao Lijing Zhang Xiaohan Lou Linyu Zhu Yuqiao Sheng Ming Wang Rui Xue Wenjing Deng Shuai Shao Zhihai Qin | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,3: | 0
Cell-penetrating riboflavin conjugate for antitumor photodynamic therapy显示文摘Riboflavin(RF,vitamin B2)is an essential vitamin and has been considered as a promising natural photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy(PDT).However, further exploration of RF in antitumor application was limited by its poor cellular uptake. In this study, using cell-penetrating peptides Arg8,(Cha-Arg)3 and small molecule triphenylphosphine(TPP)as delivery compounds, three RF conjugates were prepared to increase the accumulation of RF in cells, termed as Arg8-RF,(Cha-Arg)3-RF and TPP-RF,respectively.Compared with TPP-RF and Arg8-RF,(Cha-Arg)3-RF exhibited better cell internalization and stronger cytotoxicity against HeLa cells upon exposure to blue light.Further researches proved that(Cha-Arg)3-RF generated reactive oxygen species(ROS)under irradiation, which could indiscriminately destroy endogenous proteins and mitochondria, ultimately inducing cell death. This work provides a new approach to explore RF as a natural photosensitizer for antitumor photodynamic therapy. | Chunlei Wu Yanyan Li Zhehong Cheng Pengxin Wang Zhilong Ma Ke Liu Yulian Cheng Yimin Zhou Xian Lin Ximing Shao Yong Yang Hongchang Li Lijing Fang | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,9: | 0
Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature. Developed by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Science, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020s. | Jean J.M.in 't Zand Enrico Bozzo JinLu Qu Xiang-Dong Li Lorenzo Amati Yang Chen Immacolata Donnarumma Victor Doroshenko Stephen A.Drake Margarita Hernanz Peter A.Jenke Thomas J.Maccarone Simin Mahmoodifar Domitilla de Martino Alessandra De Rosa Elena M.Rossi Antonia Rowlinson Gloria Sala Giulia Stratta Thomas M.Tauris Joern Wilms XueFeng Wu Ping Zhou Iván Agudo Diego Altamirano Jean-Luc Atteia Nils A.andersson M.Cristina Baglio David R.Ballantyne Altan Baykal Ehud Behar Tomaso Belloni Sudip Bhattacharyya Stefano Bianchi Anna Bilous Pere Blay Joao Braga Sφren Brandt Edward F.Brown Niccolo Bucciantini Luciano Burderi Edward M.Cackett Riccardo Campana Sergio Campana Piergiorgio Casella Yuri Cavecchi Frank Chambers Liang Chen Yu-Peng Chen Jér?me Chenevez Maria Chernyakova ChiChuan Jin Riccardo Ciolfi Elisa Costantini Andrew Cumming Antonino D'Aì Zi-Gao Dai Filippo D'Ammando Massimiliano De Pasquale Nathalie Degenaar Melania Del Santo Valerio D'Elia Tiziana Di Salvo Gerry Doyle Maurizio Falanga XiLong Fan Robert D.Ferdman Marco Feroci Federico Fraschetti Duncan K.Galloway Angelo F.Gambino Poshak Gandhi MingYu Ge Bruce Gendre Ramandeep Gill Diego G?tz Christian Gouiffès Paola Grandi Jonathan Granot Manuel Güdel Alexander Heger Craig O.Heinke Jeroen Homan Rosario Iaria Kazushi Iwasawa Luca Izzo Long Ji Peter G.Jonker Jordi José Jelle S.Kaastra Emrah Kalemci Oleg Kargaltsev Nobuyuki Kawai Laurens Keek Stefanie Komossa Ingo Kreykenbohm Lucien Kuiper Devaky Kunneriath Gang Li En-Wei Liang Manuel Linares Francesco Longo FangJun Lu Alexander A.Lutovinov Denys Malyshev Julien Malzac Antonios Manousakis Ian McHardy Missagh Mehdipour YunPeng Men Mariano Méndez Roberto P.Mignani Romana Mikusincova M.Coleman Miller Giovanni Miniutti Christian Motch Joonas Nättilä Emanuele Nardini Torsten Neubert Paul T.O'Brien Mauro Orlandini Julian P.Osborne Luigi Pacciani Stéphane Paltani Maurizio Paolillo Iossif E.Papadakis Biswajit Paul Alberto Pellizzoni Uria Peretz Miguel A.Pérez Torres Emanuele Perinati Chanda Prescod-Weinstein Pablo Reig Alessandro Riggio Jerome Rodriguez Pablo Rodríguez-Gil Patrizia Romano Agata Rózańska Takanori Sakamoto Tuomo Salmi Ruben Salvaterra andrea Sanna andrea Santangelo Tuomas Savolainen Stéphane Schanne Hendrik Schatz LiJing Shao andy Shearer Steven N.Shore Ben W.Stappers Tod E.Strohmayer Valery F.Suleimanov Jirí Svoboda F.-K.Thielemann Francesco Tombesi Diego F.Torres Eleonora Torresi Sara Turriziani andrea Vacchi Stefano Vercellone Jacco Vink Jian-Min Wang JunFeng Wang Anna L.Watts ShanShan Weng Nevin N.Weinberg Peter J.Wheatley Rudy Wijnands Tyrone E.Woods Stan E.Woosley ShaoLin Xiong YuPeng Xu Zhen Yan George Younes WenFei Yu Feng Yuan Luca Zampieri Silvia Zane andrzej A.Zdziarski Shuang-Nan Zhang Shu Zhang Shuo Zhang Xiao Zhang Michael Zingale | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2: | 0
