1Ultrahigh pressure (>7 GPa) gneissic K-feldspar (-bearing) garnet clinopyroxenite in the Altyn Tagh, NW China: Evi- dence from clinopyroxene exsolution in garnet显示文摘The exsolution of clinopyroxene and rutile in coarse-grain garnet is found in the gneissic K-feldspar(-bearing) garnet clinopyroxenite from Yinggelisayi in the Altyn Tagh, NW China. The maximum content of the exsolved clinopyroxene in the garnet is up to >5% by volume. The reconstructed precursor garnet (Grt1) before exsolution has a maximum Si content of 3.061 per formula uint, being of supersilicic or majoritic garnet. The peak-stage metamorphic pressure of >7 GPa is estimated using the geobarometer for volume percentage of exsolved pyroxene in garnet and the Si-(Al+Cr) geobarometer for majoritic garnet, and the temperature of about 1000℃ using the ternary alkali-feldspar geothermometer and the experimental data of ilmen- ite-magnetite solid solution. The protoliths of the rocks are intra-plate basic and intermediate ig- neous rocks, of which the geochemical features indicate that they are probably the products of the evolution of basic magma deriving from the continental lithosphere mantle. The rocks are in outcrops associated with ultrahigh pressure garnet-bearing lherzolite and ultrahigh pressure garnet granitoid gneiss. All of these data suggest that the ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks in the Altyn Tagh are the products of deep-subduction of the continental crust, and such deep- subduction probably reaches to >200 km in depth. 2Baicalin prevents LPS-induced activation of TLR4/NF-κB p65 pathway and inflammation in mice via inhibiting the expression of CD14显示文摘Previous studies have shown that baicalin,an active ingredient of the Chinese traditional medicine Huangqin,attenuates LPS-induced inflammation by inhibiting the activation of TLR4/NF-κBp65 pathway,but how it affects this pathway is unknown.It has been shown that CD14 binds directly to LPS and plays an important role in sensitizing the cells to minute quantities of LPS via chaperoning LPS molecules to the TLR4/MD-2 signaling complex.In the present study we investigated the role of CD14 in the anti-inflammatory effects of baicalin in vitro and in vivo.Exposure to LPS(1μg/mL)induced inflammatory responses in RAW264.7 cells,evidenced by marked increases in the expression of MHC II molecules and the secretion of NO and IL-6,and by activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 signaling pathway,as well as the expression of CD14 and TLR4.These changes were dose-dependently attenuated by pretreatment baicalin(12.5–50μM),but not by baicalin post-treatment.In RAW264.7 cells without LPS stimulation,baicalin dose-dependently inhibit the protein and mRNA expression of CD14,but not TLR4.In RAW264.7 cells with CD14 knockdown,baicalin pretreatment did not prevent inflammatory responses and activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 pathway induced by high concentrations(1000μg/mL)of LPS.Furthermore,baicalin pretreatment also inhibited the expression of CD14 and activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 pathway in LPS-induced hepatocyte-derived HepG2 cells and intestinal epithelial-derived HT-29 cells.In mice with intraperitoneal injection of LPS and in DSS-induced UC mice,oral administration of baicalin exerted protective effects by inhibition of CD14 expression and inflammation.Taken together,we demonstrate that baicalin pretreatment prevents LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 cells in CD14-dependent manner.This study supports the therapeutic use of baicalin in preventing the progression of LPS-induced inflammatory diseases.Ya-jun Fu Bo Xu Shao-wei Huang Xia Luo Xiang-liang Deng Shuang Luo Chang Liu Qing Wang Jin-yan Chen Lian Zhou 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1:31

4A Study of the Kunlun-Qilian-Qinling Suture System显示文摘The Late Neoproterozoic-Early Palaeozoic suture zones within theCentral Orogenic Belt of China can be considered a system-the Kunlun-Qilian-Qinling suture system (KQQ suture system). It is basically divided into the western, central and eastern sectors. The western sector consists of the Küda-Subashi suture zone, the Mazar Kangxiwar suture and the central West Kunlun microblock. The central sector covers the following five suture zones: the Altun, North Qilian, Qaidam northern marginal, Qimantag-Wutuo and East Kunlun southern marginal sutures, in addition to some microblocks such as the mid-south Qilian, Qaidam, Ayakkum and Maqen microblocks. The eastern sector is composed of the Shangdan suture zone, Mianlüe suture zone and central Qinling-Dabie microblock. The KQQ suture system experienced (1) extending-rifting of the Rodinia super-continent in the early-middle Sinian (~780-600 Ma); (2) the formation and evolution of the KQQ archipelagic ocean during the Late Sinian-Ordovician (~600-440 Ma), and (3) closing of the KQQ ocean and forming of the KQQ suture system during the Late Ordovician-early Silurian (~440-400 Ma). 5High Potassium Aggravates the Oxidative Stress Inducedy by Magnesium Deficiency in Rice Leaves显示文摘Magnesium(Mg) deficiency in plant affects photosynthesis and many other metabolic processes.Rice(Oryza sativa L.cv.'Wuyunjing 7') plants were grown in hydroponics culture at three Mg and two potassium(K) levels under greenhouse conditions to examine the induction of oxidative stress and consequent antioxidant responses in rice leaves due to Mg deficiency.At low Mg(0.2 mmol L-1 Mg supply for two weeks after transplanting) and high K(6 mmol L-1) for 21 days,the rice plants showed severe Mg deficiency and a significant decreases in the dry matter production.The Mg deficiency in leaves decreased chlorophyll concentrations,photosynthetic activity,and soluble protein,but significantly increased the concentrations of soluble sugars and malondialdehyde(MDA) and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD,EC 1.15.1.1),catalase(CAT,EC 1.11.1.6) and peroxidase(POD,EC 1.11.1.7).In addition,Mg concentrations in the leaves and in the shoot biomass were negatively related to the activities of the three antioxidative enzymes and the concentration of MDA in leaves.There were very significant interactive effects between Mg and K supplied in the culture solution on shoot biomass yield,chlorophyll content,photosynthesis rate,the activities of SOD,CAT and POD,and MDA content in the leaves of rice.It is suggested that the high K level in the nutrient solution aggravated the effect of low Mg supply-induced Mg deficiency and created the oxidative damage in rice plants.DING Yu-Chuan CHANG Chun-Rong LUO Wen WU Yan-Shou REN Xiao-Li WANG Ping XU Guo-Hua 2008Pedosphere2008,18,3:17
6SSR Analysis of Genetic Relationship and Classification in Chrysanthemum Germplasm Collection显示文摘To further test the accuracy and rationality of the Chinese classification system for chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum morifolium), 10 simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers were used to identify a collection of 88 chrysanthemum and its related genera accessions. In total, 42 effective alleles across 88 accessions were detected; 3 429 bands were obtained by PCR amplification, including 2 630 polymorphic bands. The similarity coefficient ranged from 0.53 to 0.88. Cluster analysis based on UPGMA illustrated that the wild species and large-flower cultivars were first divided into two clusters, then the large-flower cultivars formed five distinct groups according to petal type, indicated that petal type can be a classification criterion. In the wild species cluster, C. vestitum and C. zawadaskii grouped with A. trilobata, suggested that the Ajania genera was closely related to the Chrysanthemum genera. ‘Hangbaiju’, ‘Gongju’ and ‘Chuju’ were grouped together, and ‘Boju’, O. longilobus and C. mongolicum constituted another branch, showed a correlation with geographic region of origin. Population structure analysis was subsequently performed with K values ranging from 2 to 10, and the most likely estimate for the population structure is five subpopulations, which is nearly consistent with the clustering results. Principle component analysis was further performed to verify the classification results. 7Estrogen reduces CCL_4-induced liver fibrosis in rats显示文摘AIM: Chronic liver diseases, such as fibrosis or cirrhosis,are more common in men than in women. This genderdifference may be related to the effects of sex hormones onthe liver. The aim of the present work was to investigatethe effects of estrogen on CCL4-induced fibrosis of the liverin rats.METHODS: Liver fibrosis was induced in male, female andovariectomized rats by CCL4 administration. All the groupswere treated with estradiol(1 mg/kg) twice weekly. Andtamoxifen wasgiven to male fibrosis model. At the end of 8weeks, all therats were killed to study serum indicators andthe livers.RESULTS: Estradiol treatment reduced aspartateaminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT),hyaluronic acid(HA) and type IV collagen(CIV) in sera,suppressed hepatic collagen content, decreased the areas ofhepatic stellate cells (HSC) positive for α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), and lowered the synthesis of hepatic type I collagensignificantly in both sexes and ovariectomy fibrotic rats inducedby CCL4 administration. Whereas, tamoxifen had the oppositeeffect. The fibrotic response of the female liver to CCL4treatment was significantly weaker than that of male liver.CONCLUSION: Estradiol reduces CCL4-induced hepaticfibrosis in rats. 11Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 13Prevalence and risk factors for eye diseases, blindness, and low vision in Lhasa, Tibet显示文摘AIM: To determine the prevalence and risk factors for eye diseases, blindness, and low vision in Tibet, and to assist the development of eye disease prevention and treatment schemes.METHODS: We carried out a survey of eye diseases among a population living at high altitude. A total of 1 115 Tibetan permanent residents aged 40 years or older from the towns and villages of Qushui County, Lhasa Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, participated in this study. All participants completed a detailed questio-nnaire, and underwent presenting and pinhole visual acuity tests,and a comprehensive ophthalmic examination.RESULTS: There were 187 blind eyes (8.43%), 231 eyes with low vision (10.41% ). The leading cause of visual impairment was cataract of 55.0% (101/187) blindness and of 50.2% (116/231) low vision, followed by fundus lesions of 22.9% blindness and 23.8% low vision, while only a low prevalence of glaucoma of 9.6% blindness and 1.7% low vision was observed. The analysis of 2 219 eyes showed that the most common external eye disease was pterygium (27.2%) in Tibet.CONCLUSION: The high prevalence of blindness and low vision in the Tibetan population at high altitude is a serious public health issue. 16Rules of Meridians and Acupoints Selection in Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease Based on Data Mining Techniques显示文摘Objective:To help selecting appropriate meridians and acupoints in clinical practice and experimental study for Parkinson’s disease(PD),the rules of meridians and acupoints selection of acupuncture and moxibustion were analyzed in domestic and foreign clinical treatment for PD based on data mining techniques.Methods:Literature about PD treated by acupuncture and moxibustion in China and abroad was searched and selected from China National Knowledge Infrastructure and MEDLINE.Then the data from all eligible articles were extracted to establish the database of acupuncture-moxibustion for PD.The association rules of data mining techniques were used to analyze the rules of meridians and acupoints selection.Results:Totally,168 eligible articles were included and 184 acupoints were applied.The total frequency of acupoints application was 1,090 times.Those acupoints were mainly distributed in head and neck and extremities.Among all,Taichong(LR 3),Baihui(DU 20),Fengchi(GB 20),Hegu(LI 4)and Chorea-tremor Controlled Zone were the top five acupoints that had been used.Superior-inferior acupoints matching was utilized the most.As to involved meridians,Du Meridian,Dan(Gallbladder)Meridian,Dachang(Large Intestine)Meridian,and Gan(Liver)Meridian were the most popular meridians.Conclusions:The application of meridians and acupoints for PD treatment lay emphasis on the acupoints on the head,attach importance to extinguishing Gan wind,tonifying qi and blood,and nourishing sinews,and make good use of superior-inferior acupoints matching.LI Zhe HU Ying-yu ZHENG Chun-ye SU Qiao-zhen AN Chang LUO Xiao-dong LIU Mao-cai 2020Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2020,26,8:9

18(+)-Borneol is neuroprotective against permanent cerebral ischemia in rats by suppressing production of proinflammatory cytokines显示文摘Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and death globally.It occurs when a major artery is occluded in the brain and leads to death of cells within the injured tissue.(+)-Borneol,a simple bicyclic monoterpene extracted from traditional Chinese medicine,is widely used in various types of diseases.However,no study has proved the effects of(+)-borneol on functional recovery from permanent ischemic stroke and the mechanism is still unknown.Here,we report that in the rat model of permanent cerebral ischemia,we found that(+)-borneol(1.0 mg/kg) significantly ameliorated infarct size and neurological scores via reducing the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) in a dose dependent manner.Notably,(+)-borneol showed long-term effects on the improvement of sensorimotor functions in the photothrombotic model of stroke,which decreased the number of foot faults in the grid-walking task and forelimb asymmetry scores in the cylinder task,at least in part through reducing loss of dendritic spines in the length,brunch number and density.These findings suggest that(+)-borneol could serve as a therapeutic target for ischemic stroke.Lei Chang Chun-Yu Yin Hai-Yin Wu Bin-Bin Tian Yan Zhu Chun-Xia Luo Dong-Ya Zhu 2017The Journal of Biomedical Research2017,31,4:9

20Palaeoenvironmental changes from pollen record in deep sea core PC-1 from northern Okinawa Trough,East China Sea during the past 24 ka显示文摘A pollen record of core PC-1 from the northern Okinawa Trough,East China Sea(ECS),provides information on vegetation and climate changes since 24 cal.kaBP.A total of 103 samples were palynologically analyzed at 8 cm intervals with a time resolution of 230 a.Four pollen zones are recognized:zone I(812―715 cm,24.2―21.1 cal.kaBP),zone II(715―451 cm,21.1―15.2 cal.kaBP),zone III(451―251 cm,15.2―10.8 cal.kaBP),zone IV(251―0 cm,10.8―0.3 cal.kaBP),corresponding to Late MIS 3,Last Glacial Maximum(LGM),deglaciation and Holocene,respectively.The LGM is characterized by the dominance of herbs,mainly Artemisia,and high pollen influx,implying an open vegetation on the exposed continental shelf and a cool and dry climate.The deglaciation is a climate warming stage with Pinus percentage increased and Artemisia percentage decreased and a rapid sealevel rise.The Holo-cene is characterized by predominance of tree pollen with rapid increase in Castanea-Castanopsis in-dicating the development of mixed evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved forest and a warm,humid climate.Low pollen influx during the Holocene probably implies submergence of the continental shelf and retreat of the pollen source area.The vegetation indicated by pollen assemblage found in this upper zone is consistent with the present vegetation found in Kyushu,Japan.Originating from the humid mountain area of North Luzon of the Philippines,Tasmania and New Zealand,Phyllocladus with sporadic occurrence throughout PC-1 core probably suggests the influence of Palaeo-Kuroshio Current or intense summer monsoon.The observed changes in Pinus and Herbs percentage indicate fluctuations of the sea level,and high Pinus percentage corresponds to high sea level.Spectrum analysis of the pollen percentage record reveals many millennial-scale periodicities,such as periodicities of 6.8,3.8,2.2,1.6 ka.XU HongYan CHANG FengMing LUO YunLi SUN XiangJun 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,20:9
