1Autophagy in bone homeostasis and the onset of osteoporosis显示文摘Autophagy is an evolutionarily conserved intracellular process,in which domestic cellular components are selectively digested for the recycling of nutrients and energy.This process is indispensable for cell homeostasis maintenance and stress responses.Both genetic and functional studies have demonstrated that multiple proteins involved in autophagic activities are critical to the survival,differentiation,and functioning of bone cells,including osteoblasts,osteocytes,and osteoclasts.Dysregulation at the level of autophagic activity consequently disturbs the balance between bone formation and bone resorption and mediates the onset and progression of multiple bone diseases,including osteoporosis.This review aims to introduce the topic of autophagy,summarize the understanding of its relevance in bone physiology,and discuss its role in the onset of osteoporosis and therapeutic potential.Xing Yin Chenchen Zhou Jingtao Li Renkai Liu Bing Shi Quan Yuan Shujuan Zou 2019Bone Research2019,7,4:25

3Design and experiment on intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters显示文摘When sowing summer corn without tillage,it is necessary to ensure that the furrow opener is free from straw congestion and that the spacing of the sowing can be adjusted according to the breeds of corn and the preset seeding rate per acre.On the basis of the structural features of newly developed no-tillage corn fertilizers,an intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters was developed in this study.The system facilitates automatic control of the spacing adjustment and the status monitor for the fertilizer tank,seed tank,and seeding orifice.According to the preset number of rows,line spacing,number of plants per acre,and seed germination rate,the control rate can be calculated through designing in surveillance software.The control rate is output to the fuzzy controller through the digital output module of the CAN bus.Fuzzy control is applied to the DC motor for stepless adjustment of the spacing.A system for video surveillance of the working status of a planter is developed for displaying a real-time video image of the planter operation and achieving an anti-congestion status monitoring of a no-tillage planting operation in a dusty environment.Through field trials,the detection accuracy was 91.4%.The seed-clogging fault-alarm accuracy was 96.0%.The entire system remained stable and reliable.Du Ruicheng Gong Bingcai Liu Ningning Wang Chenchen Yang Zidong Ma Mingjian 2013International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,3:16
4Experimental comparison between aircraft fuel tank inerting processes using NEA and MIG显示文摘Fuel tank inerting technologies are able to reduce the fire risk by injection of inert gas into the ullage or fuel, the former called ullage washing and the latter fuel scrubbing. The Green On-Board Inert Gas Generation System(GOBIGGS) is a novel technology based on flameless catalytic combustion, and owning to its simple structure and high inerting efficiency, it has received a lot of attentions. The inert gas in the GOBIGGS is mainly comprised of CO_2, N_2, and O_2(hereinafter, Mixed Inert Gas(MIG)), while that in the On-Board Inert Gas Generation System(OBIGGS), which is one of the most widely used fuel tank inerting technologies, is NitrogenEnriched Air(NEA). The solubility of CO_2 is nearly 20 times higher than that of N_2 in jet fuels,so the inerting capability and performance are definitely disparate if the inert gas is selected as NEA or MIG. An inerting test bench was constructed to compare the inerting capabilities between NEA and MIG. Experimental results reveal that, if ullage washing is adopted, the variations of oxygen concentrations on the ullage and in the fuel are nearly identical no matter the inert gas is NEA or MIG. 6Blown sand motion within the sand-control system in the southern section of the Taklimakan Desert Highway显示文摘Although scientists have performed many studies in the Taklimakan Desert, few of them have reported the blown sand motion along the southern edge of the Taklimakan Desert Highway, which differs significantly from the northern region in terms of aeolian sand geomorphology and formation environment. Based on the field observation data of airflow and aeolian sand transport, continuous monitoring data of erosional and depositional processes between 14 April 2009 and 9 April 2011 and data of surface sand grains from the classical section along the southern edge of the Taklimakan Desert Highway, this paper reported the blown sand motion within the sand-control system of the highway. The main results are as follows: 1) The existing sand-control system is highly effective in preventing and controlling desertification. Wind velocities within the sand-control system were approximately 33%–100% of those for the same height above the mobile sand surface. Aeolian sand fluxes were approximately 0–31.21% of those of the mobile sand surface. Sand grains inside the system, with a mean diameter of 2.89 φ, were finer than those(2.15 φ) outside the system. In addition, wind velocities basically followed a logarithmic law, but the airflow along the classical section was mainly determined by topography and vegetation. 2) There were obvious erosional and depositional phenomena above the surface within the sand-control system, and these phenomena have very consistent patterns for all observation points in the two observed years. The total thicknesses of erosion and deposition ranged from 0.30 to 14.60 cm, with a mean value of 3.67 cm. In contrast, the deposition thicknesses were 1.90–22.10 cm, with a mean value of 7.59 cm, and the erosion thicknesses were 3.51–15.10 cm, with a mean value of 8.75 cm. 8Novel Surface Design of Deployable Reflector Antenna Based on Polar Scissor Structures显示文摘Space-deployable mechanisms can be used as supporting structures for large-diameter antennas in space engineering.This study proposes a novel method for constructing the surface design of space reflector antennas based on polar scissor units.The concurrency and deployability equations of the space scissor unit with definite surface constraints are derived using the rod and vector methods.Constraint equations of the spatial transformation for space n-edge polar scissor units are summarized.A new closed-loop deployable structure,called the polar scissor deployable antenna(PSDA),is designed by combining planar polar scissor units with spatial polar scissor units.The overconstrained problem is solved by releasing the curve constraint that locates at the end-point of the planar scissor mechanism.Kinematics simulation and error analysis are performed.The results show that the PSDA can effectively fit the paraboloid of revolution.Finally,deployment experiments verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed design method,which provides a new idea for the construction of large space-reflector antennas.Pengyuan Zhao Jinguo Liu Chenchen Wu Yangmin Li Keli Chen 2020Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,5:7
9Establishment and application of distant hybridization technology in fish显示文摘Hybridization is widely used. However, for a long time, systematic theories and technologies related to hybridization in fish have been lacking. In this study, through long-term systematic research, we investigated and obtained the main rules regarding inheritance and reproduction related to fish distant hybridization. Furthermore, we established one-step and multistep breeding technologies that were suitable for interspecific hybridization and intraspecific hybridization. Simultaneously, we used these two breeding technologies to produce a batch of diploid fish lineages and tetraploid fish lineages and improved fishes. In addition, we widely discuss the methods, technologies and results of hybridization breeding, referring to the domestic and foreign literature on fish hybridization. 10DNA N^6-methyladenine demethylase ALKBH1 enhances osteogenic differentiation of human MSCs显示文摘ALKBH1 was recently discovered as a demethylase for DNA N^6-methyladenine(N6-m A), a new epigenetic modification, and interacts with the core transcriptional pluripotency network of embryonic stem cells.However, the role of ALKBH1 and DNA N6-m A in regulating osteogenic differentiation is largely unknown.In this study, we demonstrated that the expression of ALKBH1 in human mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)was upregulated during osteogenic induction. Knockdown of ALKBH1 increased the genomic DNA N6-m A levels and significantly reduced the expression of osteogenic-related genes, alkaline phosphatase activity, and mineralization. ALKBH1-depleted MSCs also exhibited a restricted capacity for bone formation in vivo.By contrast, the ectopic overexpression of ALKBH1 enhanced osteoblastic differentiation. Mechanically,we found that the depletion of ALKBH1 resulted in the accumulation of N6-m A on the promoter region of ATF4, which subsequently silenced ATF4 transcription. In addition, restoring the expression of ATP by adenovirus-mediated transduction successfully rescued osteogenic differentiation. 13Catalytic oxidation of CO on mesoporous codoped ceria catalysts:Insights into correlation of physicochemical property and catalytic activity显示文摘Codoping approach is an appealing strategy to further improve the catalytic activity of Ce-based catalysts.In the present study,Mn and/or Cu doped ceria solid solutions MnxCuyCe1-x-yO2,CuxCe1-xO2,MnxCe1-xO2 and pure CeO2 were prepared by CTAB-assisted hydrothermal method for CO oxidation.XRD,SEM,EDS,BET,Raman,H2-TPR,XPS and in situ DRIFTS techniques were carried out to study the physicochemical properties and to correlate them to the activity.The doped samples maintain the cubic fluorite structure of CeO2 with high crystallinity and small crystallite size,forming Ce-based solid solutions.The obtained catalysts have large mesoporous structure with average pore size of 10-14 nm.The doped transition metal enhances the oxygen vacancies and improves reducibility of the solids.The synergistic interaction of Mn and Cu codoping induces mo re oxygen vacancies,pro moting the increase of surface adsorbed oxygen and the transfer of bulk oxygen of catalyst,thereby enhancing the catalytic activity for CO oxidation.Besides,the decomposition rate of the carbonate species which is derived from in situ DRIFTS for each catalyst can provide a measure to evaluate its catalytic activity of CO oxidation.Hongjian Zhu Yingying Chen Yibo Gao Wenxu Liu Zhongpeng Wang Chenchen Cui Wei Liu Liguo Wang 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,9:5
14Influence of the symmetry energy on the balance energy of the directed flow显示文摘The influence of the density-dependent symmetry energy on the balance energy (E bal) of directed flow from heavy ion collisions (HICs) at incident energies covered by INDRA and MSU experiments is studied,using the updated version of the ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics (UrQMD) model,especially adapted to low-energy heavy ion collisions (HICs).Four mass-symmetric reactions with total mass numbers between 192 and 394 are chosen for investigating the influence of the symmetry energy on the system-mass dependence of E bal.The results show that the uncertainty in the density dependence of the symmetry potential causes changes of E bal of the order of several MeV,depending on the type of particle considered.The E bal of neutrons from HICs is particularly sensitive to the density dependence of the symmetry potential energy,while the system-mass dependence of E bal of Z=1 particles is not.GUO ChenChen WANG YongJia LI QingFeng TRAUTMANN W LIU Ling WU LiJuan 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,2:4
15Exosomal PD-L1 induces osteogenic differentiation and promotes fracture healing by acting as an immunosuppressant显示文摘A moderate inflammatory response at the early stages of fracture healing is necessary for callus formation.Over-active and continuous inflammation,however,impairs fracture healing and leads to excessive tissue damage.Adequate fracture healing could be promoted through suppression of local over-active immune cells in the fracture site.In the present study,we achieved an enriched concentration of PD-L1 from exosomes(Exos)of a genetically engineered Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cell(HUVECs),and demonstrated that exosomes overexpressing PD-L1 specifically bind to PD-1 on the T cell surface,suppressing the activation of T cells.Furthermore,exosomal PD-L1 induced Mesenchymal Stem Cells(MSCs)towards osteogenic differentiation when pre-cultured with T cells.Moreover,embedding of Exos into an injectable hydrogel allowed Exos delivery to the surrounding microenvironment in a time-released manner.Additionally,exosomal PD-L1,embedded in a hydrogel,markedly promoted callus formation and fracture healing in a murine model at the early over-active inflammation phase.Importantly,our results suggested that activation of T cells in the peripheral lymphatic tissues was inhibited after local administration of PD-L1-enriched Exos to the fracture sites,while T cells in distant immune organs such as the spleen were not affected.In summary,this study provides the first example of using PD-L1-enriched Exos for bone fracture repair,and highlights the potential of Hydrogel@Exos systems for bone fracture therapy through immune inhibitory effects.Ze Lin Yuan Xiong Weilin Meng Yiqiang Hu Lili Chen Lang Chen Hang Xue Adriana CPanayi Wu Zhou Yun Sun Faqi Cao Guodong Liu Liangcong Hu Chenchen Yan Xudong Xie Chuanchuan Lin Kaiyong Cai Qian Feng Bobin Mi Guohui Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:4

17Dahuang Fuzi decoction reduces inflammation levels and alleviates intestinal mucosal barrier damage in septic rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the protective effect of Dahuang Fuzi Decoction(DHFZD),a traditional Chinese prescription,at alleviating sepsis-induced inflammation and gut barrier damage in rats.Methods:Forty clean-grade male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups:normal control group(NCG,n?10),model control group(MCG,n?15)and DHFZD-treated group(DHFZDG,n?15).NCG rats were sham operated on and used as the controls,whereas MCG and DHFZDG rats were used to replicate the rat sepsis model using cecal ligation and puncture(CLP).The DHFZDG rats received DHFZD by gavage(4.5 mg/g of body weight)2 h prior to CLP and after its successful induction,while the NCG and MCG rats received equivalent amounts of sterilized water by gavage.All rat groups were starved and had free access to water.At 24 h post-experimental set up,the mortality of rats in each group was recorded,and peritoneal inflammation assessment and pathological changes related to the intestinal mucosal injury index(IMII)in the surviving rats were evaluated.D-lactic acid,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-a,interleukin(IL)-6 and IL-10 peripheral blood concentrations,along with secretory immunoglobulin A(sIgA)in the intestinal mucosa were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.Gut microbes were detected using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Results:DHFZD reduced sepsis-related mortality in the rats.Moreover,it alleviated peritoneal inflammation and pathological changes according to the IMII.DHFZD reduced serum procalcitonin,TNF-a and IL-6 concentrations,but not the IL-10 concentration.It also reduced serum D-lactic acid and increased sIgA concentrations in intestinal mucosa.Notably,DHFZDG restored gut microbiota diversity and regulated the decrease in Bacteroidetes induced by sepsis,compared with the MCG rats.Conclusion:DHFZDG may play a protective role in sepsis by alleviating sepsis-induced inflammation and gut barrier damage in rats.Fusheng Liu Chunyue Yu Jin Liu Nadia Johnson Yin Zhang Zeqi Su Chenchen Sun Xia Ding 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,1:3
18Congestive heart failure in COX2 deficient rats显示文摘Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)inhibit prostaglandin(PG)formation by targeting cyclooxygenase(COX)1 and 2.Long-term use of NSAIDs that selectively inhibit COX2 increases the risk for thrombotic events,cardiac failure,and hypertension.However,the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.In this study,COX1-and COX2-deficient rats were created via Cas9/RNA-mediated gene targeting.DNA genotyping and Western blot analysis confirmed successful generation of COX1^(-/-) and COX2^(-/-) rats.Adult COX1^(-/-) rats grew normally,while more than 70%of COX2^(-/-) rats after wean died within 2 months.Echocardiography showed markedly reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and fractional shortening in adult COX2^(-/-) rats compared to those in wildtype(WT)controls.Histological analysis revealed accumulation of inflammatory cells and severe interstitial and perivascular fibrosis in COX2^(-/-)cardiac tissues.Moreover,cardiac ATP and acetyl-Co A production was dramatically decreased in COX2^(-/-) rats.Consistently,the expression of genes related to mitochondrial oxidation,such as those that encode for subunits of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex and acyl Co A dehydrogenases,were downregulated,while glycolytic hexokinase 1(HK1)was upregulated in COX2^(-/-) heart tissues.These observations indicate that COX2-deficient rats developed spontaneously heart failure,likely as a result of dysregulated cardiac energy metabolism.Qiangyou Wan Deping Kong Qian Liu Shumin Guo Chenchen Wang Yan Zhao Zun-Ji Ke Ying Yu 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,7:3
19Association of systemic inflammation and body mass index with survival in patients with resectable gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinomas显示文摘Objective:The systemic inflammation index and body mass index(BMI)are easily accessible markers that can predict mortality.However,the prognostic value of the combined use of these two markers remains unclear.The goal of this study was therefore to evaluate the association of these markers with outcomes based on a large cohort of patients with gastric cancer.Methods:A total of 2,542 consecutive patients undergoing radical surgery for gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma between 2009 and 2014 were included.Systemic inflammation was quantified by the preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR).High systemic inflammation was defined as NLR≥3,and underweight was defined as BMI<18.5 kg/m2.Results:Among 2,542 patients,NLR≥3 and underweight were common[627(25%)and 349(14%),respectively].In the entire cohort,NLR≥3 or underweight independently predicted overall survival(OS)[hazard ratio(HR):1.236,95%confidence interval(95%CI):1.069–1.430;and HR:1.600,95%CI:1.350–1.897,respectively]and recurrence-free survival(RFS)(HR:1.230,95%CI:1.054–1.434;and HR:1.658,95%CI:1.389–1.979,respectively).Patients with both NLR≥3 and underweight(vs.neither)had much worse OS(HR:2.445,95%CI:1.853–3.225)and RFS(HR:2.405,95%CI:1.802–3.209).Furthermore,we observed similar results in subgroup analyses according to pathological stage,age,and postoperative chemotherapy.Conclusions:Our results showed that preoperative elevated NLR and decreased BMI had a significant negative effect on survival.Underweight combined with severe inflammation could enhance prognostication.Taking active therapeutic measures to reduce inflammation and increase nutrition may help improve outcomes.Xianchun Gao Yanan Pan Weili Han Caie Hu Chenchen Wang Ling Chen Yong Guo Yupeng Shi Yan Pan Huahong Xie Liping Yao Jianjun Yang Jianyong Zheng Xiaohua Li Xiaonan Liu Liu Hong Jipeng Li Mengbin Li Gang Ji Zengshan Li Jielai Xia Qingchuan Zhao Daiming Fan Kaichun Wu Yongzhan Nie 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:2
20Resilient outage recovery of a distribution system: co-optimizing mobile power sources with network structure显示文摘Outage recovery is important for reducing the economic cost and improving the reliability of a distribution system(DS)in extreme weather and with equipment faults.Previous studies have separately considered network reconfigu-ration(NR)and dispatching mobile power sources(MPS)to restore the outage load.However,NR cannot deal with the scenario of an electrical island,while dispatching MPS results in a long power outage.In this paper,a resilient outage recovery method based on co-optimizing MPS and NR is proposed,where the DS and traffic network(TN)are considered simultaneously.In the DS,the switch action cost and power losses are minimized,and the access points of MPSs are changed by carrying out the NR process.In the TN,an MPS dispatching model with the objective of mini-mizing power outage time,routing and power generation cost is developed to optimize the MPSs’schedule.A solu-tion algorithm based on iteration and relaxation methods is proposed to simplify the solving process and obtain the optimal recovery strategy.Finally,numerical case studies on the IEEE 33 and 119-bus systems validate the proposed resilient outage recovery method.It is shown that the access point of MPS can be changed by NR to decrease the power outage time and dispatching cost of MPS.The results also show that the system operation cost can be reduced by considering power losses in the objective function.Chenchen Li Yanna Xi Yufan Lu Nian Liu Liudong Chen Li Ju Yibin Tao 2022Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2022,7,1:2
