Anatomy of composition and nature of plate convergence: Insights for alternative thoughts for terminal India-Eurasia collision显示文摘The pattern and timing of collision between India and Eurasia have long been a major concern of the international community. However, no consensus has been reached hitherto. To explore and resolve the disagreements in the Himalayan study,in this paper we begin with the methodology and basic principles for the anatomy of composition and nature of convergent margins, then followed by an effort to conduct a similar anatomy for the India-Eurasia collision. One of the most common patterns of plate convergence involves a passive continental margin, an active continental margin and intra-oceanic basins together with accreted terranes in between. The ultimate configuration and location of the terminal suture zone are controlled by the basal surface of the accretionary wedge, which may show fairly complex morphology with Z-shape and fluctuant geometry. One plausible method to determine the terminal suture zone is to dissect the compositions and structures of active continental margins. It requires a focus on various tectonic elements belonging to the upper plate, such as accretionary wedges, high-pressure(HP)-ultra-high-pressure(UHP) metamorphic rocks, Barrovian-type metamorphic rocks and basement nappes, together with superimposed forearc basins.Such geological records can define the extreme limits and the intervening surface separating active margin from the passive one, thus offering a general sketch for the surface trace of the terminal suture zone often with a cryptic feature. Furthermore, the occurrence of the cryptic suture zone in depth may be constrained by geophysical data, which, in combination with outcrop studies of HP-UHP metamorphic rocks, enables us to outline the terminal suture zone. The southern part of the Himalayan orogen records complicated temporal and spatial features, which are hard to be fully explained by the classic 'two-plate-one-ocean' template, therefore re-anatomy of the compositions and nature for this region is necessitated. Taking advantage of the methodology and basic principles of plate convergence anatomy and synthesizing previous studies together with our recent research, we may gain new insights into the evolution of the Himalayan orogeny.(1) The Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite is composed of multiple tectonic units rather than a single terminal suture zone, and a group of different tectonic units were juxtaposed against each other in the backstop of the Gangdese forearc.(2) The Tethyan Himalayan Sequence(THS) contains mélanges with typical block-in-matrix structures, uniform southwards paleocurrents and age spectra of detrital zircons typical of Eurasia continent. All of these facts indicate that the THS belonged to Eurasia plate before the terminal collision, emplaced in the forearc of the Gangdese arc.(3) The Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex(GHC) and Lesser Himalayan Sequence(LHS) comprise complex components including eclogites emplaced into the GHC and the upper part of the LHS. Judging from the fact that HP-UHP metamorphic rocks are exhumed and emplaced in the upper plate, the GHC and the upper part of the LHS where eclogite occur should be assigned to the upper plate, lying above the terminal subduction zone surface. It is the very surface along which the continuous subduction of the India subcontinent occurred, therefore acting as the terminal, cryptic suture. From the suture further southward, the bulk rock associations of the LHS and Sub-Himalayan Sequence(Siwalik) show little affinity of mélange, probably belonging to the foreland system of the India plate. By the anatomy of tectonic features of all the tectonic units in the Himalayan orogen as well as the ages of the subduction-accretion related deformation, we conclude that the terminal India-Eurasia collision occurred after 14 Ma, the timing of the metamorphism of the eclogites emplaced into the upper plate. The development of rifts stretching in N-S direction in Tibet and tectonic events with the transition from sinistral to dextral movements in shear zones, such as the Ailaoshan fault in East Tibet, can coordinately reflect the scale and geodynamic influence of the India-Eurasia convergence zone.By conducting a detailed anatomy of the southern Himalayas, we propose a new model for the final collision-accretion of the Himalayan orogeny. Our study indicates that the anatomy of structures, composition, and tectonic nature is the key to a better understanding of orogenic belts, which may apply to all the orogenic belts around the world. We also point out that several important issues regarding the detailed anatomy of the structures, compositions and tectonic nature of the Himalayan orogeny in future.XIAO WenJiao AO SongJian YANG Lei HAN ChunMing WAN Bo ZHANG Ji'En ZHANG ZhiYong LI Rui CHEN ZhenYu SONG ShuaiHua 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,6:20

Effects of multidrug resistance, antisense RNA on the chemosensitivity of hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘BACKGROUND: Multidrug resistance is a major obstacle in cancer chemotherapy. We examined whether the antisense RNA of multidrug resistance gene 1 (mdr1) could reverse multidrug resistance in the human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell line SMMC7721/ADM. METHODS: The recombinant adenoviruses pAdEasy- GFP-ASmdr1 product was produced by the adenoviral vector AdEasy system, which can express antisense RNA against the mdr1 gene. Following that, the recombinant adenovirus was transfected into the P-glycoprotein- producing multidrug resistance cell line, SMMC7721/ADM human HCC cells resistant to adriamycin (ADM) and daunorubicin (DNR). In order to investigate the reversal of multidrug resistance phenotype, we measured the expression of mdr1 mRNA by RT-PCR and the production of P-glycoprotein by flow cytometry. The sensitivities for ADM and DNR SMMC7721/ADM cells were examined by [3-(4, 5-dimethylthi-azol-2-yl)-2,5 diphenyl-terazolium bromide] (MTT) analysis. RESULTS: The low-level expression of mdr1 mRNA and P-glycoprotein production were observed in parental sensitive cells SMMC/7721 in addition to the overexpressionof mdr1 mRNA and P-glycoprotein in SMMC7721/ADM cells. The transfection of antisense-RNA into SMMC7721/ ADM cells resulted in decreases of mdr1 mRNA and P-glycoprotein, but increase of drug sensitivities. The sensitivities of transfected SMMC7721/ADM cells to ADM and DNR in IC50 reduced by 31.25% and 62.96% respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Mdr1 antisense RNA can increase the sensitivities of SMMC7721/ADM cells to anticancer drug by decreasing the expression of the mdr1 gene and inhibiting P-glycoprotein expression. This strategy may be applicable to cancer patients with P-glycoportein mediated multidrug resistance.Bo Li, Tian Ye, Lei Zhao, De-Hua Li, Xing-Hua Gou, Lan-Ying Zhao, Lei Han, Lin Chen, Lu-Nan Yan and Jian-Ping Gong Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital, Chongqing University of Medical Sciences, Chongqing 400010, China Department of Traditional Chinese Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital, Luzhou Medical College, Luzhou 646000, China Genetic Engineering Laboratory, Chengdu Di’ao Group Co., Ltd., Chengdu 610041, China Department of General Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610041, China 2006Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2006,5,4:10
Pathological changes in the lungs and lymphatic organs of 12 COVID-19 autopsy cases显示文摘Systematic autopsy and comprehensive pathological analyses of COVID-19 decedents should provide insights into the disease characteristics and facilitate the development of novel therapeutics. In this study,we report the autopsy findings from the lungs and lymphatic organs of 12 COVID-19 decedents—findings that evaluated histopathological changes;immune cell signature and inflammatory factor expression in the lungs, spleen and lymph nodes. Here we show that the major pulmonary alterations included diffuse alveolar damage, interstitial fibrosis and exudative inflammation featured with extensive serous and fibrin exudates, macrophage infiltration and abundant production of inflammatory factors(IL-6,IP-10,TNFo?and IL-I f).The spleen and hilar lymph nodes contained lesions with tissue structure disruption and immune cell dysregulation, including lymphopenia and macrophage accumulation. These findings provide pathological evidence that links injuries of the lungs and lymphatic organs with the fatal systematic respiratory and immune malfunction in critically ill COVID-19 patients.Qian Liu Yu Shi Jun Cai Yaqi Duan Rongshuai Wang Hongyan Zhang Qiurong Ruan Jiansha Li Lei Zhao Yifang Ping Rong Chen Liang Ren Xiaochun Fei Heng Zhang Rui Tang Xi Wang Tao Luo Xindong Liu Xuequan Huang Zhenhua Liu Qilin Ao Yong Ren Jing Xiong Zhicheng He Haibo Wu Wenjuan Fu Pengnan Zhao Xinwei Chen Guoqiang Qu Yunyun Wang Xi Wang Jia Liu Dongfang Xiang Sanpeng Xu Xiaowei Zhou Qingrui Li Jinghong Ma Heng Li Jie Zhang Sizhe Huang Xiaohong Yao Yiwu Zhou Chaofu Wang Dingyu Zhang Guoping Wang Liang Liu Xiu-Wu Bian 2020National Science Review2020,7,12:6
Time correction of the ocean bottom seismometers deployed at the southwest Indian ridge using ambient noise cross-correlation显示文摘Seismic monitoring using ocean bottom seismometers(OBS) is an efficient method for investigating earthquakes in mid-ocean ridge far away from land. Clock synchronization among the OBSs is difficult without direct communication because electromagnetic signals cannot propagate efficiently in water. Time correction can be estimated through global positioning system(GPS) synchronization if clock drift is linear before and after the deployment. However, some OBSs in the experiments at the southwest Indian ridge(SWIR) on the Chinese DY125-34 cruise had not been re-synchronized from GPS after recovery. So we attempted to estimate clock drift between each station pairs using time symmetry analysis(TSA) based on ambient noise cross-correlation. We tested the feasibility of the TSA method by analyzing daily noise cross-correlation functions(NCFs) that extract from the data of another OBS experiment on the Chinese DY125-40 cruise with known clock drift and the same deployment site. The results suggest that the NCFs' travel time of surface wave between any two stations are symmetrical and have an opposite growing direction with the date. The influence of different band-pass filters, different components and different normalized methods was discussed. The TSA method appeared to be optimal for the hydrophone data within the period band of 2–5 s in dozens of km-scale interstation distances. A significant clock drift of ~2 s was estimated between OBSs sets through linear regression during a 108-d deployment on the Chinese cruise DY125-34. Time correction of the OBS by the ambient noise cross-correlation was demonstrated as a practical approach with the appropriate parameters in case of no GPS re-synchronization.LIU Yunlong LIU Cai TAO Chunhui YAO Huajian QIU Lei WANG Ao RUAN Aiguo WANG Hanchuang ZHOU Jianping LI Huaiming DONG Chuanwan 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,5:5
Healthcare Algorithms by Wearable Inertial Sensors: A Survey显示文摘Wearable smart devices, such as smart watch, wristband are becoming increasingly popular recently. They generally integrate the MEMS-designed inertial sensors, including accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, which provide a convenient and inexpensive way to collect motion data of users. Such rich, continuous motion data provide great potential for remote healthcare and decease diagnosis. Information processing algorithms play the critical role in these approaches, which is to extract the motion signatures and to access different kinds of judgements. This paper reviews key algorithms in these areas. In particular, we focus on three kinds of applications: 1) gait analysis; 2) fall detection and 3) sleep monitoring. They are the most popular healthcare applications based on the inertial data. By categorizing and introducing the key algorithms, this paper tries to build a clear map of how the inertial data are processed; how the inertial signatures are defined, extracted, and utilized in different kinds of applications. This will provide a valuable guidance for users to understand the methodologies and to select proper algorithm for specifi c application purpose.AO Buke FANG Gaoli WANG Yongcai SONG Lei YANG Zhiqi 2015China Communications2015,12,4:4
Sensitivity analysis of the SWAP(Soil-Water-Atmosphere-Plant)model under different nitrogen applications and root distributions in saline soils显示文摘Sensitivity analysis is important for determining the parameters in the model calibration process. In our study,a variance-based global sensitivity analysis(extended Fourier amplitude sensitivity test,EFAST)was applied to an agro-hydrological model(the SWAP(Soil-Water-Atmosphere-Plant model)model). The sensitivities of 20 parameters belonging to 4 categories(soil hydraulics, solute transport, root water uptake, and environmental stresses)for the simulated accumulated transpiration, dry matter(DM),and yield of sunflowers were analyzed under three nitrogen application rates(N1,N2,and N3),four salinity levels(S1,S2,S3,and S4),and three root distributions(R1,R2,and R3).The results indicated that for predominantly loamy soils, the high-impact parameters for accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield were the soil hydraulic parameters(αand n),critical stress index for compensatory root water uptake(ωc),the salt level at which salt stress starts(Pi),the decline of root water uptake above Pi(SSF),residual water content(θr),saturated water content(θs),and relative uptake of solutes by roots(TSCF).We also found that nitrogen application did not change the order of the parameter impacts on accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield. However,TSCF replacedαas the highest-impact parameter for the accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield at high salinity levels(S2 and S3).Furthermore,αwas also the highest-impact parameter for DM and yield under different root distributions, but the highest-impact parameters for transpiration wereωc,α,andθs under R1,R2,and R3,respectively.Nitrogen application could be neglected when considering the interactive effects of nitrogen application, salinity level, and root distribution on the transpiration,DM,and yield.Additionally, the mean values and uncertainties of the transpiration,DM,and yield were similar in all scenarios, except S3,which showed a sharp decrease in the mean values. We suggest determining the above eight parameters(α,n,ωc,Pi,SSF,θr,θs,and TSCF)and the saturated vertical hydraulic conductivity(Ks)based on rigorous calibrations with direct or indirect local measurements using economical methods(e.g.,a literature review),with limited observations for other parameters when using the SWAP model and other similar agro-hydrological models.Guoqing LEI Wenzhi ZENG Yonghua JIANG Chang AO Jingwei WU Jiesheng HUANG 2021Pedosphere2021,31,5:4

A Secure Key Management Scheme for Heterogeneous Secure Vehicular Communication Systems显示文摘Intelligent transportation system(ITS)is proposed as the most effective way to improve road safety and traffic efficiency. However, the future of ITS for large scale transportation infrastructures deployment highly depends on the security level of vehicular communication systems(VCS).Security applications in VCS are fulfilled through secured group broadcast. Therefore, secure key management schemes are considered as a critical research topic for network security. In this paper,we propose a framework for providing secure key management within heterogeneous network:The security managers(SMs)play a key role in the framework by retrieving the vehicle departure information, encapsulating block to transport keys and then executing rekeying to vehicles within the same security domain. The first part of this framework is a novel Group Key Management(GKM)scheme basing on leaving probability(LP)of vehicles to depart current VCS region.Vehicle's LP factor is introduced into GKM scheme to achieve a more efficient rekeying scheme and less rekeying costs. The second component of the framework using the blockchain concept to simplify the distributed key management in heterogeneous VCS domains.Extensive simulations and analysis are provided to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed framework:Our GKM results demonstrate that probability-based BR reduces rekeying cost compared to the benchmark scheme, while the blockchain decreases the time cost of key transmission over heterogeneous networks.LEI Ao Chibueze Ogah Philip Asuquo Haitham Cruickshank SUN Zhili 2016ZTE Communications2016,14,B06:3
Advances on supramolecular assembly of cyclometalated platinum(Ⅱ) complexes显示文摘Organoplatinum(Ⅱ) compounds have received enormous attention over the past decades due to their square-planar geometry as well as intriguing photo-physical properties.Self-assembly has emerged as an excellent approach to create well-ordered supramolecular architectures with tunable properties, which underpin the role of solvent-directed approach for the design of functional materials. In this minireview, the recent advances on supramolecular self-assembly of cyclometalated platinum(Ⅱ) complexes have been discussed.During the self-assembly process,non-covalent Pt-Pt and π-π interactions play crucial roles in controlling the structures and functions of the resulting assemblies.Teng-Fei Fu Lei Ao Zong-Chun Gao Xiao-Long Zhang Feng Wang 2016Chinese Chemical Letters2016,27,8:3
Ruxolitinib attenuates secondary injury after traumatic spinal cord injury显示文摘Excessive inflammation post-traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI)induces microglial activation, which leads to prolonged neurological dysfunction. However, the mechanism underlying microglial activation-induced neuroinflammation remains poorly understood.Ruxolitinib(RUX),a selective inhibitor of JAK1/2,was recently reported to inhibit inflammatory storms caused by SARS-CoV-2 in the lung. However, its role in disrupting inflammation post-SCI has not been confirmed. In this study, microglia were treated with RUX for 24 hours and then activated with interferon-γfor 6 hours. The results showed that interferon-γ-induced phosphorylation of JAK and STAT in microglia was inhibited, and the mRNA expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and cell proliferation marker Ki67 were reduced. In further in vivo experiments,a mouse model of spinal cord injury was treated intragastrically with RUX for 3 successive days, and the findings suggest that RUX can inhibit microglial proliferation by inhibiting the interferon-γ/JAK/STAT pathway. Moreover, microglia treated with RUX centripetally migrated toward injured foci, remaining limited and compacted within the glial scar, which resulted in axon preservation and less demyelination. Moreover, the protein expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-1β,and interleukin-6 were reduced. The neuromotor function of SCI mice also recovered. These findings suggest that RUX can inhibit neuroinflammation through inhibiting the interferon-γ/JAK/STAT pathway, thereby reducing secondary injury after SCI and producing neuroprotective effects.Zhan-Yang Qian Ren-Yi Kong Sheng Zhang Bin-Yu Wang Jie Chang Jiang Cao Chao-Qin Wu Zi-Yan Huang Ao Duan Hai-Jun Li Lei Yang Xiao-Jian Cao 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,9:3
Taking advantage of glass:capturing and retaining the helium gas on the moon显示文摘Helium-3(3He)is a noble gas that has critical applications in scientific research and promising application potential as clean fusion energy. It is thought that the lunar regolith contains large amounts of helium, but it is challenging to extract because most helium atoms are reserved in defects of crystals or as solid solutions. Here,we find large amounts of helium bubbles in the glassy surface layer of ilmenite particles that were brought back by the Chang’E-5 mission. The special disordered atomic packing structure of glasses should be the critical factor for capturing the noble helium gas.The reserves in bubbles do not require heating to high temperatures to be extracted.Mechanical methods at ambient temperatures can easily break the bubbles. Our results provide insights into the mechanism of helium gathering on the moon and offer guidance on future in situ extraction.Ao Li Xiao Chen Lijian Song Guoxin Chen Wei Xu Juntao Huo Meng Gao Ming Li Lei Zhang Bingnan Yao Min Ji Yan Zhang Shaofan Zhao Wei Yao Yanhui Liu Jun-Qiang Wang Haiyang Bai Zhigang Zou Mengfei Yang Weihua Wang 2022Materials Futures2022,1,3:2
Prognostic significance of periostin in colorectal cancer显示文摘Accumulating evidence suggests that periostin is frequently upregulated in tissue injury, inflammation, fibrosis and tumor progression. Periostin expression in cancer cells can promote metastatic potential of colorectal cancer(CRC)via activating PI3 K/Akt signaling pathway. Moreover, periostin is observed mainly in tumor stroma and cytoplasm of cancer cells, which may facilitate aggressiveness of CRC. In this review, we summarize information regarding periostin to emphasize its role as a prognostic marker of CRC.Xingming Deng Sheng Ao Jianing Hou Zhuofei Li Yunpeng Lei Guoqing Lyu 2019Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,3:2
Photocatalytic properties of P25-doped TiO_2 composite film synthesized via sol–gel method on cement substrate显示文摘TiO_2 films have received increasing attention for the removal of organic pollutants via photocatalysis. To develop a simple and effective method for improving the photodegradation efficiency of pollutants in surface water, we herein examined the preparation of a P25-TiO_2 composite film on a cement substrate via a sol–gel method. In this case, Rhodamine B(Rh B)was employed as the target organic pollutant. The self-generated TiO_2 film and the P25-TiO_2 composite film were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), N_2 adsorption/desorption measurements, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS). The photodegradation efficiencies of the two films were studied by Rh B removal in water under UV(ultraviolet) irradiation. Over 4 day exposure, the P25-TiO_2 composite film exhibited higher photocatalytic performance than the self-generated TiO_2 film. The photodegradation rate indicated that the efficiency of the P25-TiO_2 composite film was enhanced by the addition of the rutile phase Degussa P25 powder. As such, cooperation between the anatase TiO_2 and rutile P25 nanoparticles was beneficial for separation of the photo-induced electrons and holes. In addition, the influence of P25 doping on the P25-TiO_2 composite films was evaluated. We found that up to a certain saturation point, increased doping enhanced the photodegradation ability of the composite film. Thus, we herein demonstrated that the doping of P25 powders is a simple but effective strategy to prepare a P25-TiO_2 composite film on a cement substrate, and the resulting film exhibits excellent removal efficiency in the degradation of organic pollutants.Xiang Guo Lei Rao Peifang Wang Chao Wang Yanhui Ao Tao Jiang Wanzhong Wang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,4:2
Promoter methylation-regulated miR-148a-3p inhibits lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)progression by targeting MAP3K9显示文摘Lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)characterized by high metastasis and mortality is the leading subtype of non-small cell lung cancer.Evidence shows that some microRNAs(miRNAs)may act as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes, leading to malignant tumor occurrence and progression. To better understand the molecular mechanism associated with miRNA methylation in LUAD progression and clinical outcomes,we investigated the correlation between miR-148a-3p methylation and the clinical features of LUAD.In the LUAD cell lines and tumor tissues from patients,miR-148a-3p was found to be significantly downregulated, while the methylation of miR-148a-3p promoter was notably increased.Importantly,miR-148a-3p hypermethylation was closely associated with lymph node metastasis. We demonstrated that mitogen-activated protein(MAP)kinase kinase kinase 9(MAP3K9)was the target of miR-148a-3p and that MAP3K9 levels were significantly increased in both LUAD cell lines and clinical tumor tissues. In A549 and NCI-H1299 cells, overexpression of miR-148a-3p or silencing MAP3K9 significantly inhibited cell growth, migration, invasion and cytoskeleton reorganization accompanied by suppressing the epithelial-mesenchymal transition. In a nude mouse xenograft assay we found that tumor growth was effectively inhibited by miR-148a-3p overexpression.Taken together, the promoter methylation-associated decrease in miR-148a-3p could lead to lung cancer metastasis by targeting MAP3K9.This study suggests that miR-148a-3p and MAP3K9 may act as novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of LUAD and have potential clinical applications.Lu Liang Wen-yan Xu Ao Shen Hui-yu Cen Zhi-jun Chen Lin Tan Ling-min Zhang Yu Zhang Ji-jun Fu Ai-ping Qin Xue-ping Lei Song-pei Li Yu-yan Qin Jiong-hua Huang Xi-yong Yu 2022Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,11:1

Association of Comorbid Asthma and the Efficacy of Bioabsorbable Steroid-eluting Sinus Stents Implanted After Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in Patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps显示文摘Objective To identify factors affecting the efficacy of steroid-eluting sinus stents implanted after endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS)in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP).Methods We performed a post-hoc analysis of a randomized self-controlled clinical trial on post-operative implantation of bioabsorbable steroid-eluting stents in patients with CRSwNP.Univariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify which of the following factors affect the response to post-operative stent implantation:sex, serum eosinophil levels, history of prior surgery, endoscopic scores, and comorbid conditions(asthma and allergic rhinitis). The primary outcome was the rate of post-operative intervention on day 30,and the secondary outcome was the rate of polypoid tissue formation(grades 2–3)on days 14,30,and 90.Results A total of 151 patients with CRSwNP were included in the post-hoc analysis.Asthma was identified as the only risk factor for a poor response to steroid-eluting sinus stents on post-operative day 30,with an odds ratio of 23.71(95%CI,2.81,200.16;P=0.004)for the need for post-operative intervention and 19(95%CI,2.20,164.16;P=0.003)for moderate-to-severe polypoid tissue formation. In addition, the asthmatic group showed higher rates of post-operative intervention and polypoid tissue formation than the non-asthmatic group on post-operative day 30.Blood eosinophil levels were not identified as a risk factor for poor outcomes after stent implantation. Conclusion Comorbid asthma, but not blood eosinophil level, impairs the efficacy of steroid-eluting sinus stents in the short term after ESS in patients with CRSwNP.Ao HUANG Tao LI Min-shan LI Zhen-xiao HUANG De-hui WANG Lei CHENG Bing ZHOU Heng WANG Zheng LIU 2023Current Medical Science2023,43,5:1
Zearalenone toxicosis on reproduction as estrogen receptor selective modulator and alleviation of zearalenone biodegradative agent in pregnant sows显示文摘Background:Zearalenone(ZEA)is a resorcylic acid lactone derivative derived from various Fusarium species that are widely found in food and feeds. The molecular structure of ZEA resembles that of the mammalian hormone 17β-oestradiol,thus zearalenone and its metabolites are known to compete with endogenous hormones for estrogen receptors binding sites and to activate transcription of oestrogen-responsive genes. However, the effect of long-term low-dose ZEA exposure on the reproductive response to Bacillus subtilis ANSB01G culture for first-parity gilts has not yet been investigated. This study was conducted to investigate the toxic effects of ZEA as an estrogen receptor selective modulator and the alleviating effects of Bacillus subtilis ANSB01G cultures as ZEA biodegraders in pregnant sows during their first parity. Results:A total of 80 first-parity gilts(Yorkshire×Landrace)were randomly assigned to four dietary treatments during gestation:CO(positive control);MO(negative control,246μg ZEA/kg diet);COA(CO+B.subtilis ANSB01G culture with 2×10^(9)CFU/kg diet);MOA(MO+B.subtilis ANSB01G culture with 2×10^(9)CFU/kg diet). There were 20 replications per treatment with one gilt per replicate.Feeding low-dose ZEA naturally contaminated diets disordered most of reproductive hormones secretion and affected estrogen receptor-αand estrogen receptor-βconcentrations in serum and specific organs and led to moderate histopathological changes of gilts, but did not cause significant detrimental effects on reproductive performance. The addition of Bacillus subtilis ANSB01G culture to the diet can effectively relieve the competence of ZEA to estrogen receptor and the disturbance of reproductive hormones secretion, and then ameliorate toxicosis of ZEA in gilts. Conclusions:Collectively, our study investigated the effects of feeding low-dose ZEA on reproduction in pregnant sows during their first parity.Feeding low-dose ZEA could modulate estrogen receptor-αand-βconcentrations in specific organs, cause disturbance of reproductive hormones and vulva swelling, and damage organ histopathology and up-regulate apoptosis in sow models.Diet with Bacillus subtilis ANSB01G alleviated negative effects of the ZEA on gilts to some extent.Jianchuan Zhou Lihong Zhao Shimeng Huang Qingxiu Liu Xiang Ao Yuanpei Lei Cheng Ji Qiugang Ma 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4:1
