Comprehensive eco-environmental effects of the shelter-forest ecological engineering along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘In this work, we report a comprehensive study about the eco-environmental effects of the shelter forest along the Tarim Desert Highway, including the effects on aeolian environment, soil, micro-climate, biodiversity, and groundwater. The results show that: (1) The movement of windblown sand near the ground surface was affected by the shelter forest. The wind speed and sediment transport rate in the shelter forest decreased by 64%―80% and 87.45%―99.02%, respectively. In addition, there were also significant changes in the sand flux structure, the sand grain size, and the deflation and deposition on the ground surface. (2) Compared to the natural mobile sand, the soil bulk density in the forest area decreased while the total salt content, the total porosity, and the water content increased. In addition, the soil fertility was significantly improved in the forest area, and showed the 'first rapid, then slow' variation pattern. (3) The shelter forest showed positive effects on the micro-climate. Within the 6 m height above the ground, the air temperature in the shelter forest at different heights was lower than that in the mobile sand, while the air humidity was higher, while, the soil temperature was also lower in the shelter forest than mobile sand. (4) The number of soil microbial species increased significantly with the improvement of habitat in the shelterbelt. However, the population of different species was not distributed evenly across the surveyed area. (5) Currently, no significant effects of groundwater-pumping and forest-irrigation water have been found on the groundwater level and its salinity. The variation amplitude of both groundwater level and salinity was at the level of centimeters and 1g/L, respectively. No obvious variation trend has been observed.LEI JiaQiang LI ShengYu JIN ZhengZhong FAN JingLong WANG HaiFeng FAN DongDong ZHOU HongWei GU Feng QIU YongZhi XU Bo 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:14
Antibacterial Behavior of a Cu-bearing Type 200 Stainless Steel显示文摘A preliminary study was made on the antibacterial behavior of a newly designed Cu-bearing type 200 stainless steel by different methods including Vickers hardness measurement, electrochemical test and antibacterial test. The results showed that Cu-rich precipitations caused by the saturated Cu in the steel matrix was not only a crucial factor for its excellent antibacterial capability, but also for its equivalent corrosion resistance as good as the commercial type 200 stainless steel.Li Nan Jinglong Cheng Ke Yang 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,11:12
The salt accumulation at the shifting aeolian sandy soil surface with high salinity groundwater drip irrigation in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert显示文摘The EC analysis and water serial sampling was performed in the Tarim Desert Highway shelterbelt to explore the water and salt dynamics of the shallow aeolian sandy soil ( 0-30cm) under high salinity groundwater drip irrigation. It was found that in one irrigation cycle, the EC of the shallow shifting aeolian sandy soil ( 0-30cm) increased while the water content decreased. The EC of the surface aeolian sandy soil at the wetting front was far greater than that of the wetting area or the outside of the wetting area. During the irrigation cycle, the EC of the wetting front and the wetting area changed at a significant magnitude, whereas the EC of the outside of the wetting area remained largely steady. The horizontal influence distance of drip irrigation on the salt accumulation at the soil surface was about 100 cm, and the vertical influence depth was 5 cm. The three most abundant ions in the accumulated salt at the aeolian sandy soil surface were Na+, Cl- and SO42-. The salt accumulation at the soil surface was influenced by air temperature, wind speed, mineralization of irrigation water, sand burial thickness, soil texture, and litter content.ZHANG JianGuo XU XinWen LEI JiaQiang SUN ShuGuo FAN JingLong LI ShengYu GU Feng QIU YongZhi XU Bo 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:10
Damage by wind-blown sand and its control measures along the Taklimakan Desert Highway in China显示文摘Desertification is one of the most serious environmental problems in the world, especially in the arid desert regions.Combating desertification, therefore,is an urgent task on a regional or even global scale. The Taklimakan Desert in China is the second largest mobile desert in the world and has been called the''Dead Sea''due to few organisms can exist in such a harsh environment. The Taklimakan Desert Highway, the longest desert highway(a total length of 446 km)across the mobile desert in the world, was built in the 1990s within the Taklimakan Desert. It has an important strategic significance regarding oil and gas resources exploration and plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of southern Xinjiang,China.However,wind-blow sand seriously damages the smoothness of the desert highway and,in this case, mechanical sand control system(including sand barrier fences and straw checkerboards)was used early in the life of the desert highway to protect the road.Unfortunately, more than 70%of the sand barrier fences and straw checkerboards have lost their functions, and the desert highway has often been buried and frequently blocked since 1999.To solve this problem,a long artificial shelterbelt with the length of 437 km was built along the desert highway since 2000.However,some potential problems still exist for the sustainable development of the desert highway, such as water shortage, strong sandstorms, extreme environmental characteristics and large maintenance costs. The study aims to provide an overview of the damages caused by wind-blown sand and the effects of sand control measures along the Taklimakan Desert Highway.Ultimately,we provide some suggestions for the biological sand control system to ensure the sustainable development of the Taklimakan Desert Highway, such as screening drought-resistant species to reduce the irrigation requirement and ensure the sound development of groundwater, screening halophytes to restore vegetation in the case of soil salinization, and planting cash crops, such as Cistanche,Wolfberry,Apocynum and other cash crops to decrease the high cost of maintenance on highways and shelterbelts.LI Congjuan WANG Yongdong LEI Jiaqiang XU Xinwen WANG Shijie FAN Jinglong LI Shengyu 2021Journal of Arid Land2021,13,1:9
The temporal and spatial fluctuation of the groundwater level along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘In this work, a groundwater monitor section along the Tarim Desert Highway was set up, and the groundwater level data were recorded. The temporal and spatial fluctuations of the groundwater level were analyzed based on the groundwater level measurements, hydrologic data, the groundwater/surface water interconversion theory and the groundwater dynamics. The spatial distribution of groundwater is mostly affected by sand dune height and landform variation. The four primary temporal influence factors of groundwater level can be ordered in decreasing significance as: shelterbelt pumping > vertical leakage > river flow change > runoff replenishment. The runoff replenishment has the biggest influence range, and the shelterbelt pumping has the smallest influence range. The groundwater level fluctuates annually in a natural pattern.FAN JingLong XU XinWen LEI JaQiang ZHAO JingFeng LI ShengYu WANG HaiFeng ZHANG JianGuo ZHOU HongWei 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:6
Topographical changes of ground surface affected by the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘To study the effects of sand protection project on modern aeolian landform, the types, distribution, and intensity of topographical changes of the ground surface affected by the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway were determined by measuring the deflation and deposition of sand surface in the Tazhong area located in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert. The results showed that (1) the newly-formed landform in sand protection systems is dominated by aeolian deposition including the small-scale Nabkha Dunes, the medium-scale sheet-like sand deposition and the large-scale ridge-like sand deposition. To some degree, aeolian deflation landform can also be formed in the open space in the shelterbelt. Furthermore, it is difficult for aeolian deflation landform to develop in a large scale in the interdunes. However, aeolian deflation landform can be developed in a large-scale on the windward slope of secondary dunes in longitudinal complex sand ridges; (2) on the windward side of the sand protection systems, both the morphology and strike of dwarf mobile dunes in the interdunes are changed by the sand-obstructing forest belts and the ridge-like sand deposition around it. The wind- ward slope of the ridge-like deposition around the sand-obstructing forest belt forms a stable ground surface. After being damaged by forward-moving dunes in a short period, the ground surface is re- covered gradually; (3) on the leeward side of the sand protection systems, aeolian deflations are formed widely. Particularly, the deflation depression is formed in the interdunes. In addition, the dunes in the region with highly topographic relief are cut flat by aeolian deflations; thereafter its relief of to- pography is reduced. The above analysis indicates that shelterbelts have obvious effects on the windward wind-sand flux in terms of dissipating energy and intercepting sand. With the recovery of wind velocity on the leeward side of the sand protection systems, the wind-sand flux gradually tends to be unsaturated; therefore the sand surface deflation is formed.LI ShengYu LEI JiaQiang XU XinWen WANG HaiFeng FAN JingLong GU Feng QIU YongZhi XU Bo GONG Qing ZHENG Wei 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:4
Nonlinear distortion and spatial dispersion of intense terahertz generation in lithium niobate via the tilted pulse front technique显示文摘We systematically investigate the influences of the input infrared spectrum, chirp, and polarization on the emitted intense terahertz spectrum and spatial dispersion in lithium niobate via optical rectification. The terahertz yield and emission spectrum depend on both the chirp and spectrum of the input pump laser pulses. We also observe slight non-uniform spatial dispersion using a knife-edge measurement, which agrees well with the original predictions. The possible mechanism is the nonlinear distortion effect caused by high-energy laser pumping. Our study is very important and useful for developing intense terahertz systems with applications in extreme terahertz sciences and nonlinear phenomena.BAOLONG ZHANG SHANGQING LI SHUSU CHAI XIAOJUN Wu JINGLONG MA LIMING CHEN YUTONG LI 2018Photonics Research2018,6,10:4
Effect of the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway on air temperature and humidity显示文摘The temperature and humidity of the shelterbelt micro-climate on both horizontal and vertical scales in the extremely drought area were measured with multiple HOBO temperature and humidity automatic observation equipments in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert. The results show that the shelterbelt ecosystem of the desert highway plays typical micro-climate adjustment rolesin stabilizing surface air temperature and increasing air humidity, and so on. Solar radiation significantly affects both temperature and humidity of surface layers, and it has a positive correlation with the temperature but a negative correlation with the air humidity. When it is cloudy, the weather has a great impact on keeping temperature and humidity in the shelterbelt. The shelterbelt also significantly influences the environment, and the micro-climate in the belt has an obvious characteristic of cooling and humidification: compared with the original sand area, the temperature in the shelterbelt is always lower and the humidity is always higher. Moreover, the temperature range at the shelterbelt edge is greater than that in the sand area, but the humidity is always higher. Our conclusion is that the vertical-effect range of temperature of the shelterbelts is 4 -10 m, and the humidity range is 6 to 8 m; the horizontal-effect range of temperature is 16 m and the humidity range is about 24 m.WANG HaiFeng LEI JiaQiang LI ShengYu FAN JingLong LI YingGang SUN ShuGuo CHANG Qing 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:4
Optimization of Spray Drying Processing Technology of Mulberry Powder显示文摘With concentrated juice of mulberry as raw material, the influence of type and dosage of dry aid, the inlet air temperature, inlet flow rate, and rotating speed on spray drying was studied. The spray drying processing conditions of mulberry powder were optimized by the L9(34) orthogonal test on the basis of single factor experiment. The results showed that optimum technical parameters to produce mulberry powder were: β-cyclodextrin as dry aids with dosage of 30%, inlet air temperature of180 ℃, rotating speed of 18 000 r/min and inlet flow rate of 30 m L/min. The mulberry powder under this optimum process conditions had a loose structure and bright color, fruity flavor was rich, the anthocyanin content for 54.67 mg/g, moisture content for5.6% and sensory scores for 83.Ziwei LI Jinglong LI 2016Agricultural Science & Technology2016,17,11:3
Microstructure and mechanical properties in the TLP joint of FeCoNiTiAl and Inconel 718 alloys using BNi2 filler显示文摘High entropy alloy(HEA) of Fe Co Ni Ti Al and Inconel 718 superalloy were firstly transient liquid phase(TLP) bonded by BNi2 filler due to the diffusion of Si and B in the filler to the base metals. The effects of bonding time on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the TLP joints were investigated.Owing to the complete isothermal solidification of the joints bonded for 30 min 120 min at 1100°C,no athermally solidified zones(ASZs) formed by eutectic phases were observed in the welded zone. Thus the TLP joints were only composed by the isothermally solidified zone(ISZ) and two diffusion affected zone(DAZ) adjacent to the dissimilar base metals and the negative effect of the ASZ on joint properties can be avoided. In addition, the increase of the bonding time can also make the Ti B2 borides precipitated in the DAZ near HEA and the brittle borides or carbides in the DAZ near IN718 alloy decrease and reduce the possibility of the stress concentration happened in the joints under loading. Therefore, the highest shear strength(632.1 MPa) of the TLP joints was obtained at 1100°C for 120 min, which was higher than that of the joint bonded for 30 min, 404.2 MPa. Furthermore, the extension of the bonding time made the fracture mechanism of the joint be transformed from the intergranular fracture to the transgranular fracture. However, as the brittle borides in the DAZ near IN718 can not be eliminated completely and refining of grains also happened in such region, all the TLP joints fractured inner the DAZ near IN718 alloy.Lin Yuan Jiangtao Xiong Yajie Du Jin Ren Junmiao Shi Jinglong Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,2:3
Integration of satellite remote sensing data in underground coal fire detection:A case study of the Fukang region,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Xinjiang in China is one of the areas worst affected by coal fires.Coal fires cannot only waste a large amount of natural resources and cause serious economic losses, but they also cause huge damage to the atmosphere, the soil, the surrounding geology, and the environment. Therefore, there is an urgent need to effectively explore remote sensing based detection of coal fires for timely understanding of their latest development trend. In this study,in order to investigate the distribution of coal fires in an accurate and reliable manner,we exploited both Landsat-8 optical data and Sentinel-1A synthetic aperture radar(SAR)images, using the generalized single-channel algorithm and the InSAR time-series analysis approach, respectively, for coal fire detection in the southern part of the Fukang region of Xinjiang,China. The generalized single-channel algorithm was used for land surface temperature information extraction.Meanwhile, the timeseries InSAR analysis technology was employed for estimating the surface micro deformation information, which was then used for building a band-pass filter. The suspected coal fire locations could then be established by a band-pass filtering operation on the obtained surface temperature map. Finally, the locations of the suspected coal fires were validated by the use of field survey data. The results indicate that the integration of thermal infrared remote sensing and radar interferometry technologies is an efficient investigation approach for coal fire detection in a large-scale region, which would provide the necessary spatial information support for the survey and control of coal fires.Shiyong YAN Ke SHI Yi LI Jinglong LIU Hongfeng ZHAO 2020Frontiers of Earth Science2020,14,1:2
Contrasting dynamic characteristics of shear turbulence and Langmuir circulation in the surface mixed layer显示文摘Large eddy simulation(LES) is used to investigate contrasting dynamic characteristics of shear turbulence(ST)and Langmuir circulation(LC) in the surface mixed layer(SML). ST is usually induced by wind forcing in SML. LC can be driven by wave-current interaction that includes the roles of wind, wave and vortex forcing. The LES results show that LC suppresses the horizontal velocity and greatly modifies the downwind velocity profile, but increases the vertical velocity. The strong downwelling jets of LC accelerate and increase the downward transport of energy as compared to ST. The vertical eddy viscosity Km of LC is much larger than that of ST. Strong mixing induced by LC has two locations. They are located in the 2ds–3ds(Stokes depth scale) and the lower layer of the SML,respectively. Its value and position change periodically with time. In contrast, maximum Km induced by ST is located in the middle depth of the SML. The turbulent kinetic energy(TKE) generated by LC is larger than that by ST. The differences in vertical distributions of TKE and Km are evident. Therefore, the parameterization of LC cannot be solely based on TKE. For deep SML, the convection of large-scale eddies in LC plays a main role in downward transport of energy and LC can induce stronger velocity shear(S2) near the SML base. In addition, the large-scale eddies and S2 induced by LC is changing all the time, which needs to be fully considered in the parameterization of LC.LI Guojing WANG Dongxiao CHEN Ju YAO Jinglong ZENG Lili SHU Yeqiang SUI Dandan 2015Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,5:2
Transcription factor changes following long term cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘The present study established a rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury using four-vessel occlusion and found that hippocampal CA1 neuronal morphology was damaged, and that there were reductions in hippocampal neuron number and DNA-binding activity of cAMP response element binding protein and CCAAT/enhancer binding protein, accompanied by decreased learning and memory ability. These findings indicate that decline of hippocampal cAMP response element binding protein and CCAAT/enhancer binding protein DNA-binding activities may contribute to neuronal injury and learning and memory ability reduction induced by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.Hongbo Zhang Weijuan Gao Tao Qian Jinglong Tang Jun Li 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,10:2
Ensemble Retrieval of Atmospheric Temperature Profiles from AIRS显示文摘Satellite-based observations provide great opportunities for improving weather forecasting. Physical retrieval of atmospheric profiles from satellite observations is sensitive to the uncertainty of the first guess and other factors. In order to improve the accuracy of the physical retrieval, an ensemble methodology was developed with an emphasis on perturbing the first guess. In the methodology, a normal probability density function(PDF) is used to select the optimal profile from the ensemble retrievals. The ensemble retrieval algorithm contains four steps:(1) regression retrieval for original first guess;(2) perturbation of the original first guess to generate new first guesses(ensemble first guesses);(3) using the ensemble first guesses and nonlinear iterative physical retrieval to generate ensemble physical results; and(4) the final optimal profile is selected from the ensemble physical results by using PDF. Temperature eigenvectors(EVs) were used to generate the perturbation and generate the ensemble first guess. Compared with the regular temperature profile retrievals from the Atmospheric InfraRed Sounder(AIRS), the ensemble retrievals RMSE of temperature profiles selected by the PDF was reduced between150 and 320 hPa and below 400 hPa, with a maximum improvement of 0.3 K at 400 hPa. The bias was also reduced in many layers, with a maximum improvement of 0.69 K at 460 hPa. The combined optimal(CombOpt) profile and a mean optimal(MeanOpt) profile of all ensemble physical results were improved below 150 hPa. The MeanOpt profile was better than the CombOpt profile, and was regarded as the final optimal(FinOpt) profile. This study lays the foundation for improving temperature retrievals from hyper-spectral infrared radiance measurements.ZHANG Jie Zhenglong LI Jun LI Jinglong LI 2014Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2014,31,3:2

Characteristics of the soil microbial population in forest land irrigated with saline water in the desert area显示文摘The study of soil microbial populations and diversity is an important way to understanding the soil energy process. In this study we analyzed the characteristics of soil microbial populations of the Tarim Desert Highway shelter-forest,by identifying microbial fatty acids and using methods of conventional cul-tivation.The results illustrated that the amount of soil microbial activity and the diversity of soil microbial fatty acid increased significantly with the plantation age of the shelter-forest;the soil microbial population was dominated by bacteria. The fatty acids of C14︰0,C15︰0,C16︰0,C17︰0,C18︰1ω9,C18︰0,C18︰2ω6 and C21︰0 were found to be dominant soil microbial fatty acids in the shelter-forest soil.Prin-cipal analysis and regression analysis showed that(1) concentrations of fatty acids of C14︰0,C16︰0 and C18︰0 could be used as indicators of total soil microbial population;(2) soil bacteria and actinomycetes populations were closely correlated with the amount of fatty acids of C15︰0 and C17︰0;and(3) soil fungi were closely correlated with the amount of fatty acids of C18︰1ω9 and C18︰2ω6.Jin, ZhengZhong Lei, JiaQiang Xu, XinWen Li, ShengYu Fan, JingLong Zhao, SiFeng 2010Journal of Arid Land2010,2,2:2
Additive manufacturing of a high-strength ZrC-SiC and TC4 gradient structure based on a combination of laser deposition technique and brazing显示文摘A ZrC-SiC and TC4 gradient structure(ZTGS)was additively manufactured through the laser deposition technique and brazing process. The research results indicated that SiC-reinforced TC4-based gradient layers could be obtained on the TC4 surface by laser deposition.ZrC-SiC and TC4 coated with gradient layers were brazed using an AgCuTi filler to fabricate the ZTGS.The effects of the gradient structure and brazing parameters on the ZTGS strength were investigated. With an increase in Layer II and Layer III thickness, the ZTGS shear strength increased. The brazing temperature and holding time affected the ZTGS shear strength by controlling the formation and distribution of the Cu4Ti phase in the brazing zone. The strengthening mechanism of the ZTGS was revealed by analyzing the residual stress distribution in the ZTGS.Compressive residual stress was formed in ZrC-SiC adjacent to the TC4 substrate or the deposited gradient layer, which was found to negatively affect the properties of the ZTGS.The increase in gradient layer thickness reduced the maximum residual stress in ZrC-SiC,and the effect of Layer III on the residual stress was more significant than that of Layer II.The calculated residual stress evolution matched the ZTGS property values well, revealing the strengthening mechanism.Qian Wang Junmiao Shi Lixia Zhang Jiangtao Xiong Jinglong Li Ninshu Ma Jicai Feng 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,4:2
Effects of Different Extraction and Purification Methods on the Acquisition of Phycoerythrin from Porphyridium purpureum显示文摘Phycoerythrin, as the main light-harvesting antenna in Porphyridium purpureum, exists at the outermost end of the phycobilisome. It has advantages of good fluorescence intensity, anti-oxidation, scavenging free radicals, and high chroma, so it has been widely used in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other industries. In this study, the effects of different extraction(ultrasonic breaking method, bead grinding method, liquid nitrogen grinding method, and freezing-thawing method) and purification methods(salting out method, ultrafiltration method, and combination of salting out and ultrafiltration method) on the acquisition of phycoerythrin from P. purpureum were studied, and the characteristics of phycoerythrin in the P. purpureum were identified. The results showed that the freezing-thawing method could extract phycoerythrin from the powder of P. purpureum to the utmost extent, and the concentration of the extracted phycoerythrin was up to 0.036 g/L. The salting out method could most effectively purify phycoerythrin, and the purity index was 2.216. The identification of phycoerythrin by ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy indicated that the phycoerythrin had the maximum absorption peak at 545 nm, and the maximum Stokes shift was up to 79 nm. Due to its high fluorescence characteristics, it can be used as a fluorescent marker in the fields of molecular biology and clinical medicine, and can also be used as a good photosensitizer in tumor therapy.Yuanchao XU Shengxin NIE Zhen LIU Jinglong LI 2019Agricultural Biotechnology2019,8,2:2
