| 1 | Dynamical decoupling of electron spins in phosphorus-doped silicon显示文摘Quantum coherence is an important enabling feature underpinning quantum computation. However, because of couplings with its noisy surrounding environment, qubits suffer from the decoherence effects. The dynamical decoupling (DD) technique uses pulse-induced qubit flips to effectively mitigate couplings between qubits and environment. Optimal DD eliminates dephasing up to a given order with the minimum number of pulses. In this paper, we first introduce our recent work on prolonging electron spin coherence in γ-irradiated malonic acid crystals and analyze different decoherence mechanisms in this solid system. Then we focus on electron spin relaxation properties in another system, phosphorous-doped silicon (Si:P) crystals. These properties have been investigated by pulse electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). We also investigate the performance of the dynamical decoupling technique on this system. | 2 | Measurements and Characterization for the Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Channel in Urban and Highway Scenarios at 5.92GHz显示文摘In the future smart transportation system, reliable vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2 I) communication is very important to ensure vehicle driving safety and to improve vehicle driving efficiency. In this paper, V2 I channel measurements at 5.92 GHz are conducted in typical urban and highway scenarios.The frequency and bandwidth of transmission, as well as the deployment of the RSU(roadside unit) and the OBU(on board unit), are selected by considering the recommendation proposed by 3 GPP TR 36.885. Then,based on the measured data, the key channel characteristic parameters of the V2 I channel are extracted,including path loss, root-mean-square delay spread,stationarity distance, and Doppler spread, etc. Also,the statistical characteristics of the parameters, including time-varying and Doppler characteristics, are investigated and characterized. | 4 | Waste to wealth: Oxygen-nitrogen-sulfur codoped lignin-derived carbon microspheres from hazardous black liquors for high-performance DSSCs显示文摘Carbon materials are effective substitutes for Pt counter electrodes(CEs) in dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs). However, many of these materials, such as carbon nanotubes and graphene, are expensive and require complex preparation process. Herein, waste lignin, recycled from hazardous black liquors,is used to create oxygen-nitrogen-sulfur codoped carbon microspheres for use in DSSC CEs through the facile process of low-temperature preoxidation and high-temperature self-activation. The large number of ester bonds formed by preoxidation increase the degree of cross-linking of the lignin chains, leading to the formation of highly disordered carbon with ample defect sites during pyrolysis. The presence of organic O/N/S components in the waste lignin results in high O/N/S doping of the pyrolysed carbon,which increases the electrolyte ion adsorption and accelerates the electron transfer at the CE/electrolyte interface, as confirmed by density functional theory(DFT) calculations. The presence of inorganic impurities enables the construction of a hierarchical micropore-rich carbon structure through the etching effect during self-activation, which can provide abundant catalytically active sites for the reversible adsorption/desorption of electrolyte ions. Under these synergistic effects, the DSSCs that use this novel carbon CE achieve a quite high power-conversion efficiency of 9.22%. | 5 | Energy-efficient Butler-matrix-based hybrid beamforming for multiuser mm Wave MIMO system显示文摘In order to reduce the cost and power consumption of radio frequency(RF) chains in a millimeterwave(mm Wave) multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) system, hybrid analog/digital beamforming(HBF)can be utilized to reduce the number of RF chains. The HBF consists of an analog beamforming(ABF) stage and a digital beamforming(DBF) stage. The ABF is always realized by using phase shifters and the DBF is done in a low-dimensional digital domain. However, phase shifters have several drawbacks, such as high power consumption and inconsistency of insertion loss. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient HBF structure to handle these problems, which utilizes the Butler phase shifting matrix in the ABF stage. With the Butlermatrix-based ABF, several fixed beam directions can be obtained, and the best beam directions of different Butler matrices can be chosen by using exhaustive search. To reduce the high complexity of exhaustive search,we further provide a low complexity HBF algorithm. | 6 | The distinct morphological phenotypes of Southeast Asian aborigines are shaped by novel mechanisms for adaptation to tropical rainforests显示文摘Southeast Asian aborigines, the hunter-gatherer populations living in tropical rainforests, exhibit distinct morphological phenotypes, including short stature, dark skin, curly hair and a wide and snub nose. The underlying genetic architecture and evolutionary mechanism of these phenotypes remain a long-term mystery. We conducted whole genome deep sequencing of 81 Cambodian aborigines from eight ethnic groups. Through a genome-wide scan of selective sweeps, we discovered key genes harboring Cambodian-enriched mutations that may contribute to their phenotypes, including two hair morphogenesis genes(TCHH and TCHHL1), one nasal morphology gene(PAX3) and a set of genes(such as ENTPD1-AS1) associated with short stature. The identified new genes and novel mutations suggest an independent origin of the distinct phenotypes in Cambodian aborigines through parallel evolution, refuting the long-standing argument on the common ancestry of these phenotypes among the worldwide rainforest hunter-gatherers. | 9 | Different patterns of association between white matter microstructure and plasma unsaturated fatty acids in those with high risk for psychosis and healthy participants显示文摘Background Disrupted white matter(WM)microstructure has been commonly identified in youth at clinical high risk(CHR)for psychosis.Several lines of evidence suggest that fatty acids,especially unsaturated fatty acids(UFAs),might play a crucial role in the WM pathology of early onset psychosis.However,evidence linking UFA and WM microstructure in CHR is quite sparse.Aims We investigated the relationship between the plasma UFA level and WM microstructure in CHR participants and healthy controls(HC).Methods Plasma fatty acids were assessed and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)data were performed with tract-based spatial statistics(TBSS)analysis for 66 individuals at CHR for psychosis and 70 HC.Results Both the global and regional diffusion measures showed significant between-group differences,with decreased fractional anisotropy(FA)but increased mean diffusivity(MD)and radial diffusivity(RD)found in the CHR group compared with the HC group.On top of that,we found that in the HC group,plasma arachidic acid showed obvious trend-level associations with higher global FA,lower global MD and lower global RD,which regionally spread over the corpus callosum,right anterior and superior corona radiata,bilateral anterior and posterior limb of the internal capsule,and bilateral superior longitudinal fasciculus.However,there were no associations between global WM measures and any UFA in the CHR group.Conversely,we even found negative associations between arachidic acid levels and regional FA values in the right superior longitudinal fasciculus and right retrolenticular part of the internal capsule in the CHR group.Conclusions Compared with the HC group,CHR subjects exhibited a different pattern of association between WM microstructure and plasma UFA,with a neuroprotective effect found in the HC group but not in the CHR group.Such discrepancy could be due to the excessively upregulated UFAs accumulated in the plasma of the CHR group,highlighting the role of balanced plasma-membrane fatty acids homeostasis in WM development. | Wenjun Su Zhixing Li Lihua Xu Jiahui Zeng Yingying Tang Xiaochen Tang Yanyan Wei Qian Guo Tianhong Zhang Jijun Wang | 2022 | General Psychiatry2022,35,2: | 0 |

In this paper, we revisit the classical problem of building geometric interpretations of images, using supervised deep learning tools. We build a framework to detect primitives from images in a layered manner by modifying the YOLO network an RNN with a novel loss function is then used to equip this network with the capability to predict primitives with a variable number of parameters. | 14 | Inhibiting the bipolar effect via band gap engineering to improve the thermoelectric performance in n-type Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)Te_(3)for solid-state refrigeration显示文摘To date,the benchmark Bi_(2)Te_(3)-based alloys are still the only commercial material system used for ther-moelectric solid-state refrigeration.Nonetheless,the conspicuous performance imbalance between the p-type Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)Te_(3)and n-type Bi_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x) legs has become a major obstacle for the improvement of cooling devices to achieve higher efficiency.In our previous study,novel n-type Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)Te_(3)alloy has been pro-posed via manipulating donor-like effect as an alternative to mainstream n-type Bi_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x).However,the narrow bandgap of Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)Te_(3)provoked severe bipolar effect that constrained the further improvement of zT near room temperature.Herein,we have implemented band gap engineering in n-type Bi_(1.5)Sb_(0.5)Te_(3)by employing isovalent Se substitution to inhibit the undesired intrinsic excitation and achieve the dis-tinguished room-temperature zT.First,the preferential occupancy of Se at Te^(2)site appropriately enlarges the band gap,thereby concurrently improving the Seebeck coefficient and depressing the bipolar thermal conductivity.In addition,the Se alloying mildly suppresses the compensation mechanism and essentially preserves the already optimized carrier concentration,which maintains the peak zT near room tempera-ture.Moreover,the large strain field and mass fluctuation generated by Se alloying leads to the remark-able reduction of lattice thermal conductivity.Accordingly,the zT value of Bi_(1.5)Sb_(0.5)Te_(2.8)Se_(0.2)reaches 1.0 at 300 K and peaks 1.1 at 360 K,which surpasses that of most well-known room-temperature n-type thermoelectric materials.These results pave the way for n-type Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)Te_(3)alloys to become a new and promising top candidate for large-scale solid-state cooling applications. | Dongliang Su Jiahui Cheng Shan Li Shengnan Zhang Tu Lyu Chaohua Zhang Junqin Li Fusheng Liu Lipeng Hu | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,7: | 0 |
