| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. | 4 | Simultaneous Detection and Removal of Formaldehyde at Room Temperature: Janus Au@ZnO@ZIF-8 Nanoparticles显示文摘The detection and removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) are of great importance to reduce the risk of indoor air quality concerns. This study reports the rational synthesis of a dual-functional Janus nanostructure and its feasibility for simultaneous detection and removal of VOCs.The Janus nanostructure was synthesized via an anisotropic growth method, composed of plasmonic nanoparticles,semiconductors, and metal organic frameworks(e.g.,Au@ZnO@ZIF-8). It exhibits excellent selective detection to formaldehyde(HCHO, as a representative VOC) at room temperature over a wide range of concentrations(from 0.25 to100 ppm), even in the presence of water and toluene molecules as interferences. In addition, HCHO was also found to be partially oxidized into non-toxic formic acid simultaneously with detection. | 5 | Quality metrics and outcomes among critically ill patients in China:results of the national clinical quality control indicators for critical care medicine survey 2015-2019显示文摘Background:It is crucial to improve the quality of care provided to ICU patient,therefore a national survey of the medical quality of intensive care units(ICUs)was conducted to analyze adherence to quality metrics and outcomes among critically ill patients in China from 2015 to 2019.Methods:This was an ICU-level study based on a 15-indicator online survey conducted in China.Considering that ICU care quality may vary between secondary and tertiary hospitals,direct standardization was adopted to compare the rates of ICU quality indicators among provinces/regions.Multivariate analysis was performed to identify potential factors for in-hospital mortality and factors related to ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP),catheter-related bloodstream infections(CRBSIs),and catheter-associated urinary tract infections(CAUTIs).Results:From the survey,the proportions of structural indicators were 1.83%for the number of ICU inpatients relative to the total number of inpatients,1.44%for ICU bed occupancy relative to the total inpatient bed occupancy,and 51.08%for inpatients with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scores≥15.The proportions of procedural indicators were 74.37%and 76.60%for 3-hour and 6-hour surviving sepsis campaign bundle compliance,respectively,62.93%for microbiology detection,58.24%for deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis,1.49%for unplanned endotracheal extubations,1.99%for extubated inpatients reintubated within 48 hours,6.38%for unplanned transfer to the ICU,and 1.20%for 48-hour ICU readmission.The proportions of outcome indicators were 1.28‰for VAP,3.06‰for CRBSI,3.65‰for CAUTI,and 10.19%for in-hospital mortality.Although the indicators varied greatly across provinces and regions,the treatment level of ICUs in China has been stable and improved based on various quality control indicators in the past 5 years.The overall mortality rate has dropped from 10.19%to approximately 8%.Conclusions:The quality indicators of medical care in China’s ICUs are heterogeneous,which is reflected in geographic disparities and grades of hospitals.This study is of great significance for improving the homogeneity of ICUs in China. | Xi Rui Fen Dong Xudong Ma Longxiang Su Guangliang Shan Yanhong Guo Yun Long Dawei Liu Xiang Zhou | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,9: | 4 |
| 6 | Tribological and tribochemical properties of magnetite nanoflakes as additives in oil lubricants显示文摘This detailed the tribological and tribochemical properties of magnetite(Fe_3O_4) nanoflakes used as additives in #40 base oil in a four-ball tribo-tester.The average friction coefficient of the friction pair for lubricant containing the Fe_3O_4 nanoflakes of 1.5 wt%as a lubricant additive in the base oil is decreased by18.06%compared to that of solely base oil.The chemical composition of base oil with the Fe_3O_4 nanoflake additives did not change during the 48-h friction assessment.The decreased saturation magnetization and increased coercivity of magnetite nanoflakes occurred due to the distortion of the basal planes and the presence of hematite(α-Fe_3O_4) generated by the tribochemical reactions during the friction process.The multi-layer low-shear-stress tribochemical lubrication films on the surface of the friction pair could form because the nanoflake particles arrange and adhere onto the surface of the friction pair in an orderly manner,and the tribochemical reactions of the friction pair in the presence of the nanoflakes occur as Fe→FeO→Fe_3O_4→γ-FeOOH →γ-Fe_2O_3→α-Fe_2O_3.The formation of the films can improve the tribological properties. | Longhua Xiang Chuanping Gao Yanmin Wang Zhidong Pan Dawei Hu | 2014 | Particuology2014,12,6: | 4 |

| 10 | A functional hyperbranched binder enabling ultra-stable sulfur cathode for high-performance lithium-sulfur battery显示文摘Binders are of vital importance in stabilizing the cathodes to enhance the cycling stability of lithiumsulfur(Li-S) batteries. However, conventional binders are typically confronted with the drawback of inability for adsorbing lithium polysulfide(Li PS), thus resulting in severe active material losing and rapid capacity fading. Herein, a novel water-soluble hyperbranched poly(amidoamine)(HPAA) binder with controllable hyperbranched molecular structure and abundant amino end groups for Li-S battery is designed and fabricated, which can improve efficient adsorption for Li PS and stability of the sulfur cathodes. Besides, the strong intermolecular hydrogen bonds in HPAA binder can contribute to the structural stability of S cathode and integration of the conductive paths. Therefore, the Li-S battery with this functional binder exhibits excellent cycle performance with a capacity retention of 91% after 200 cycles at 0.1 C.Even at a high sulfur loading of 5.3 mg cm-2, a specific capacity of 601 mA h g-1 can also be achieved.Density functional theory(DFT) calculation further demonstrates that the enhanced electrochemical stability derives from the high binding energy between amino groups and LiP S and the wide electrochemical window(6.87 e V) of HPAA molecule. | 17 | Assessment of respiratory support decision and the outcome of invasive mechanical ventilation in severe COVID-19 with ARDS显示文摘Background:The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is an ongoing pandemic.Invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)is essential for the management of COVID-19 with acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).We aimed to assess the impact of compliance with a respiratory decision support system on the outcomes of patients with COVID-19-associated ARDS who required IMV.Methods:In this retrospective,single-center,case series study,patients with COVID-19-associated ARDS who required IMV at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University,China,from January 8th,2020,to March 24th,2020,with the final follow-up date of April 20th,2020,were included.Demographic,clinical,laboratory,imaging,and management information were collected and analyzed.Compliance with the respiratory support decision system was documented,and its relationship with 28-day mortality was evaluated.Results:The study included 46 COVID-19-associated ARDS patients who required IMV.The median age of the 46 patients was 68.5 years,and 31 were men.The partial pressure of arterial oxygen(PaO_(2))/fraction of inspired oxygen(FiO_(2))ratio at intensive care unit(ICU)admission was 104 mmHg.The median total length of IMV was 12.0(interquartile range[IQR]:6.0–27.3)days,and the median respiratory support decision score was 11.0(IQR:7.8–16.0).To 28 days after ICU admission,18(39.1%)patients died.Survivors had a significantly higher respiratory support decision score than non-survivors(15.0[10.3–17.0]vs.8.5(6.0–10.3),P=0.001).Using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve to assess the discrimination of respiratory support decision score to 28-day mortality,the area under the curve(AUC)was 0.796(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.657–0.934,P=0.001)and the cut-offwas 11.5(sensitivity=0.679,specificity=0.889).Patients with a higher score(>11.5)were more likely to survive at 28 days after ICU admission(log-rank test,P<0.001).Conclusions:For severe COVID-19-associated ARDS with IMV,following the respiratory support decision and assessing completion would improve the progress of ventilation.With a decision score of>11.5,the mortality at 28 days after ICU admission showed an obvious decrease. | Shuhan Cai Fangfang Zhu Hongtao Hu Hui Xiang Dawei Wang Jing Wang Lu Li Xiao Yang Aihua Qin Xin Rao Yun Luo Jianguo Li Kianoush B.Kashani Bo Hu Zhiyong Peng | 2022 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,2: | 1 |
