| 1 | Evolutionary Multi-objective Portfolio Optimization in Practical Context显示文摘This paper addresses evolutionary multi-objective portfolio optimization in the practical context by incorporating realistic constraints into the problem model and preference criterion into the optimization search process.The former is essential to enhance the realism of the classical mean-variance model proposed by Harry Markowitz,since portfolio managers often face a number of realistic constraints arising from business and industry regulations,while the latter reflects the fact that portfolio managers are ultimately interested in specific regions or points along the efficient frontier during the actual execution of their investment orders.For the former, this paper proposes an order-based representation that can be easily extended to handle various realistic constraints like floor and ceiling constraints and cardinality constraint.An experimental study,based on benchmark problems obtained from the OR-library, demonstrates its capability to attain a better approximation of the efficient frontier in terms of proximity and diversity with respect to other conventional representations.The experimental results also illustrated its viability and practicality in handling the various realistic constraints.A simple strategy to incorporate preferences into the multi-objective optimization process is highlighted and the experimental study demonstrates its capability in driving the evolutionary search towards specific regions of the efficient frontier. | S.C.Chiam A.Al Mamum | 2008 | International Journal of Automation and computing2008,5,1: | 5 |
| 2 | Esophageal ulceration complicating doxycycline therapy显示文摘AIM: To report present state of iatrogenic drug-induced esophageal injury (DIEI) induced by medications in a private clinic.METHODS: Iatrogenic drug-induced esophageal injury (DIEI) induced by medications has been more frequently reported. In a private clinic we encountered 36 cases of esophageal ulcerations complicating doxycycline therapy in a mainly younger Saudi population (median age 29 years).RESULTS: The most frequent presenting symptoms were oclynophagia, retrostemal burning pain and dysphagia (94 %,75 % and 56 %, respectively). The diagnosis was according to medical history and confirmed by endoscopy in all patients.Beside withdrawal of doxycycline, when feasible, all patients were treated with a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) and a prokinetic. | 10 | 梯型2D/2D Bi_(2)M_(o)O_(6)/BiOI范德华异质结的制备及CO_(2)光还原性能显示文摘利用太阳能将CO_(2)还原为具有高能量附加值的含碳气相或液相燃料为解决能源枯竭和气候异常等问题提供一个有前景的方案.然而,由于CO_(2)光还原过程是上坡反应且具有高的反应能垒,目前光催化CO_(2)还原的转化效率仍然很低.为实现高效率CO_(2)光还原,半导体光催化剂需要有宽的光吸收范围、强的氧化还原能力和丰富的活性位点.但同时满足上述条件的光催化剂有限.在半导体中,BiOI具有1.8 eV的窄带隙,可以响应波长大于600 nm的可见光且具有很强的还原能力,因此广泛应用于CO_(2)光还原、全水分解和重金属离子还原等领域.此外,BiOI是一种典型的二维材料,交替的[Bi_(2)O_(2)]^(2+)和I-离子层会导致不同层间产生固有极化和内建电场(IEF).因此,BiOI可以凭借内在的IEF有效地实现电荷分离.然而,CO_(2)光还原还需要质子参与,而质子通常来自水氧化.但BiOI价带的氧化能力不足,影响CO_(2)光还原效率的提升.另一方面,Bi_(2)MoO_(6)也是二维结构,并显示出强氧化能力,在光降解、细菌灭活、分子氧活化、水氧化和水分解等领域被广泛研究.此外,Bi_(2)MoO_(6)具有[Bi_(2)O_(2)]^(2+)和MoO_(4)2-离子层交替的结构,同样可以产生强自发极化和固有IEF.同时,这种二维层状结构有利于形成片状的形貌,这有利于与其他二维材料构建大接触面积的异质结,从而实现电荷的快速输运,并使表面CO_(2)还原反应活性位点增多.本文通过水热法在少层Bi_(2)MoO_(6)纳米片上原位生长BiOI纳米片,设计制备了梯型二维/二维(2D/2D)Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI范德华异质结复合材料,并用于改进CO_(2)光还原性能.通过功函数、差分电荷密度和X射线光电子能谱证实了Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI异质结是范德华异质结,且Bi_(2)MoO_(6)和BiOI之间存在梯型的电荷转移机制.通过电子顺磁共振光谱进一步研究了Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI复合材料的氧化还原能力,结果发现,梯型异质结可以有效保留单一组分强的氧化或还原能力.此外,通过电化学测试以及稳态和时间分辨光致发光光谱研究了电荷分离效率,结果表明,梯型2D/2D Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI范德华异质结可以加速光生电荷转移.利用原位漫反射红外傅里叶变换光谱揭示了CO_(2)光还原过程中的中间体,并通过理论计算研究了中间体的吸附自由能的变化,确定了CO_(2)光还原的决速步骤和反应势垒.梯型2D/2D Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI范德华异质结复合材料表现出增强的CO_(2)光还原性能.这种2D/2D复合形成的大接触面积的异质结可作为电荷转移通道并促进电荷的快速分离.另外,Bi_(2)MoO_(6)的引入也将BiOI表面上CO_(2)光还原的能垒降低了0.35 eV,从而促进了CO_(2)还原过程.此外,梯型2D/2D Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/BiOI范德华异质结复合材料的强氧化还原能力也为CO_(2)光还原提供了强的驱动力.综上,本文为新型梯型2D/2D范德华异质结在增强CO_(2)光还原活性上的应用提供了参考. | 王中辽 程蓓 张留洋 余家国 李佑稷 S.Wageh Ahmed A.Al‐Ghamdi | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Catalysis2022,43,7: | 1 |

| 14 | Lean HC gas injection pilots analysis and IPR back calculation to examine the impact of asphaltene deposition on flow performance显示文摘Gas injection is one of the most economical and effective approach to improve oil recovery.However,outcome of such approach is contingent to reservoir heterogeneities impacting gas override and fingering.Furthermore,injected fluid composition and its compatibility with the reservoir fluid potentially impact flow assurance issues such as asphaltene precipitation into the wellbore and surface facilities.The objective of this paper is to examine the lesson learnt from a couple of field scale 5 spot patterned lean hydrocarbon gas injection pilots which were deployed in a heterogeneous carbonate formation of a giant field located offshore Abu Dhabi under secondary and tertiary drive mechanisms.Said pilots provides a valuable insight on production performance,pressure support,gravity override,fluid composition and evidence of asphaltene deposition that resulted in heavy production loss prior to the solvent treatment.This paper presents the overall pilot performance including pattern recovery,fluid front movement,potential role of heterogeneity in gas breakthrough timings and the operational events to witness asphaltene deposition affecting the flow performance.The deposited asphaltene cake thickness was measured mechanically during routine tubing clearance check operation that was helpful in estimating production loss due to altered production tubing flow opening.Also an integrated approach is applied to confirm the AOP laboratory measurements with the actual deposits of asphaltene that were found in to the production tubing.In order to confirm the effect of asphaltene deposition on inflow from near wellbore formation to the wellbore,a straightforward yet innovative nodal analysis approach was applied to study well performance using the calibrated and history matched well model.It was noticed that not only the outflow was altered because of asphaltene deposition into wellbore but also the inflow(productivity index)was seriously impacted potentially due to asphaltene deposition in near wellbore formation. | Fahad I.Syed Mohamed Boukhatem Ahmed A.Al Kiyoumi | 2019 | Petroleum Research2019,4,1: | 1 |
| 15 | Acoustic Supercoupling in a Zero-Compressibility Waveguide显示文摘Funneling acoustic waves through largely mismatched channels is of fundamental importance to tailor and transmit sound for a variety of applications.In electromagnetics,zero-permittivity metamaterials have been used to enhance the coupling of energy in and out of ultranarrow channels,based on a phenomenon known as supercoupling.Tese metamaterial channels can support total transmission and complete phase uniformity,independent of the channel length,despite being geometrically mismatched with their input and output ports.In the feld of acoustics,this phenomenon is challenging to achieve,since it requires zero-density metamaterials,typically realized with waveguides periodically loaded with membranes or resonators.Compared to electromagnetics,the additional challenge is due to the fact that conventional acoustic waveguides do not support a cut-of for the dominant mode of propagation,and therefore zero-index can be achieved only based on a collective resonance of the loading elements.Here we propose and experimentally realize acoustic supercoupling in a dual regime,using a compressibility-nearzero acoustic channel.Rather than engineering the channel with subwavelength inclusions,we operate at the cut-of of a higherorder acoustic mode,demonstrating the realization and efcient excitation of a zero-compressibility waveguide with efective sof boundaries.We experimentally verify strong transmission through a largely mismatched channel and uniform phase distribution,independent of the channel length.Our results open interesting pathways towards the realization of extreme acoustic parameters and their implementation in relevant applications,such as ultrasound imaging,acoustic transduction and sensing,nondestructive evaluation,and sound communications. | H.Esfahlani M.S.Byrne M.McDermott A.Alù | 2019 | Research2019,,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Effectiveness of in-office blood pressure measurement by eye care practitioners in early detection and management of hypertension显示文摘AIM: To investigate the number of hypertensive patients, the optometrist is able to identify by routinely taking blood pressure(BP) measurements for patients in 'at-risk' groups, and to sample patients' opinions regarding in-office BP measurement. Many of the optometrists in Saudi Arabia practice in optical stores.These stores are wide spread, easily accessible and seldom need appointments. The expanding role of the optometrist as a primary health care provider(PHCP) and the increasing global prevalence of hypertension,highlight the need for an integrated approach towards detecting and monitoring hypertension.METHODS: Automated BP measurements were made twice(during the same session) at five selected optometry practices using a validated BP monitor(Omron M6) to assess the number of patients with high BP(HBP)- in at-risk groups-visiting the eye clinic routinely. Prior to data collection, practitioners underwent a two-day training workshop by a cardiologist on hypertension and how to obtain accurate BP readings. A protocol for BP measurement was distributed and retained in all participating clinics. The general,,.,attitude towards cardiovascular health of 480 patients aged 37.2(±12.4)y and their opinion towards in-office BP measurement was assessed using a self-administered questionnaire.RESULTS: A response rate of 83.6% was obtained for the survey. Ninety-three of the 443 patients(21.0%)tested for BP in this study had HBP. Of these,(62subjects) 67.7% were unaware of their HBP status. Thirty of the 105 subjects(28.6%) who had previously been diagnosed with HBP, still had HBP at the time of this study, and only 22(73.3%) of these patients were on medication. Also, only 25% of the diagnosed hypertensive patients owned a BP monitor.CONCLUSION: Taking BP measurements in optometry practices, we were able to identify one previously undiagnosed patient with HBP for every 8 adults tested.We also identified 30 of 105 previously diagnosed patients whose BP was poorly controlled, twenty-two of whom were on medication. | 18 | Launching a paradigm for first and redo-surgery in primary congenital glaucoma: institutional experience显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the outcome of the initial and the redo-surgeries for primary congenital glaucoma(PCG) correlated to its degree of severity. METHODS: A retrospective study involved patients with PCG presented between 2010 and 2018. Medical records were reviewed to assess the degree of the preoperative severity according to the intraocular pressure(IOP), corneal diameter and corneal edema. Success and failure rates were calculated for both first and redo-surgeries at 6 and 12 mo respectively then correlated to the severity of the cases. RESULTS: Complete records were retrieved for 272 eyes(153 patients) with PCG: 43 eyes were mild, 136 moderate and 93 severe. Combined trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy(CTT) had the highest success rate in moderate(96.4%) and severe cases(59.3%) while trabeculotomy had the highest success rate in mild cases(96.3%). Medical records of 88 eyes(63 patients) with recurrent PCG were analyzed, most with severe presentation(59 eyes). Ahmed glaucoma valve(AGV) was used in 67(76%) eyes and augmented trabeculectomy in 21(24%) eyes. At 12 mo, there was no statistically significant difference between both surgeries in total success rate(P=0.256). For mild cases, success rate was 100% for both surgeries. Severe cases had higher success rates following AGV(87%) than augmented trabeculectomy(20%). Preoperative severity of the disease was an independent factor affecting the failure rate in secondary trabeculectomy but not in AGV. Patients younger than 24 mo had higher probabilities of failure following both redo-surgeries with hazard ratio =1.325 and 0.37 for augmented trabeculectomy and AGV respectively. CONCLUSION: Preoperative assessment of the severity of eyes with PCG helps in the selecting the optimal primary and secondary surgery. For first surgery, trabeculotomy is more effective in mild cases whereas; CTT and augmented subscleral trabeculectomy(SST) are appropriate for moderate and severe cases.
