Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology. Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts, osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects, and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor, infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them, three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved, and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling, resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility, and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting. Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration.Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:9

In Situ Synthesis of Fluorescent Mesoporous Silica–Carbon Dot Nanohybrids Featuring Folate Receptor-Overexpressing Cancer Cell Targeting and Drug Delivery显示文摘Multifunctional nanocarrier-based theranostics is supposed to overcome some key problems in cancer treatment. In this work,a novel method for the preparation of a fluorescent mesoporous silica–carbon dot nanohybrid was developed.Carbon dots(CDs),from folic acid as the raw material, were prepared in situ and anchored on the surface of amino-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs–NH2) via a microwave-assisted solvothermal reaction. The as-prepared nanohybrid(designated MSNs–CDs) not only exhibited strong and stable yellow emission but also preserved the unique features of MSNs(e.g.,mesoporous structure, large specific surface area, and good biocompatibility),demonstrating a potential capability for fluorescence imagingguided drug delivery.More interestingly, the MSNs–CDs nanohybrid was able to selectively target folate receptor-overexpressing cancer cells(e.g.,HeLa),indicating that folic acid still retained its function even after undergoing the solvothermal reaction.Benefited by these excellent properties, the fluorescent MSNs–CDs nanohybrid can be employed as a fluorescence-guided nanocarrier for the targeted deliveryof anticancer drugs(e.g.,doxorubicin),thereby enhancing chemotherapeutic efficacy and reducing side effects. Our studies may provide a facile strategy for the fabrication of multifunctional MSN-based theranostic platforms, which is beneficial in the diagnosis and therapy of cancers in future.Shuai Zhao Shan Sun Kai Jiang Yuhui Wang Yu Liu Song Wu Zhongjun Li Qinghai Shu Hengwei Lin 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2:5

Diagnosis and treatment of primary diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumors of the cervical spine显示文摘Diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumor (D-TGCT) belongs to a group of lesions believed to arise from tendon sheaths, bursae,or the synovium of diarthrodial joints. The etiology of D-TGCT is unknown.Because it shares histological characteristics with pigmented villonodular synovitis,however,D-TGCT is also termed extra-articular pigmented villonodular synovitis.D-TGCT,which occurs mainly in middle-aged women (20-50 years of age1),usually involves large load-bearing joints (e.g.,knee,ankle,and hip).Clinical case reports of D-TGCT involving the spine are rare.2 We retrospectively analyzed a series of three patients diagnosed with cervical D-TGCT in our department over a 10-year period.Wang Kai Liu Xiaoguang Liu Zhongjun Yu Miao 2014Chinese Medical Journal2014,,4:3
Two-dimensional magnetic resonance neurography in neurotmesis of the left sciatic nerve A case report显示文摘Magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) is used to determine traumatic changes within nervous trunks.A 21-year-old male was treated for neurotmesis of the left sciatic nerve. At 41 days after micro-neurosurgery, two-dimensional MRN (2-D MRN) was performed with plain and contrast scans in the left injured sciatic nerve.More than 2 years after trauma, 2-D MRN images were collected to re-examine the left sciatic nerve. Results from the first 2-D MRN examination revealed a swollen left sciatic nerve.Furthermore, T1WI revealed a local nodule with slightly high intensity, and T2WI revealed hyperintensity. The nodule was significantly enhanced.Upon 2-D MRN re-examination more than 2 years after injury, the injured left sciatic nerve trunk was thinner, and the nodule margin in the left sciatic trunk was clearer. The supero-inferior diameter was enlarged by 2 mm compared with previous films. The degree of enhancement became weaker in the nodule.2-D MRN revealed continuity, traumatic neuroma, and atrophy of the injured sciatic nerves in detail.Thin-slice technique was crucial for this method, as well as fat-suppressed and blood flow-suppressed imaging.Zhongjun Hou Xiaojun Yu Xi Li Yaotang Chen 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,14:2
Assessment and analysis of microwave emissivity and transmissivity of a deciduous forest towards the estimate of vegetation biomass显示文摘Forests play an important role in the global carbon cycle and have a potential impact on global climatic change.Monitoring forest biomass is of considerable importance in understanding the hydrological cycle.Because of the problem of dense forest cover,no reliable method with which to retrieve soil moisture in forest areas from the microwave emission signature has been established. All of these issues relate to the microwave emissivity and transmissivity characteristics of a forest. The microwave emission contribution received by a sensor above a forest canopy comes from both the soil surface and the vegetation layer. To analyze the relationship of forest biomass and forest emission and transmissivity,a high-order emission model, the matrix-doubling model, which consists of both soil and vegetation models, was developed and then validated for a young deciduous forest stand in a field experiment. To simulate the emissivity and transmissivity of a deciduous forest in the L and X bands using the matrix-doubling model, the parameters of components of deciduous trees when the leaf area index varies from 1 to10 were generated by an L-system and a forest growth model. The emissivity and transmissivity of a forest and the relationships of these parameters to forest biomass are presented and analyzed in this paper.Emissivity in the L band when the leaf area index is less than 6 and at viewing angles less than 40°,and transmissivity in the L band are the most sensitive parameters in deciduous forest biomass estimation.ZHANG ZhongJun YU XianChuan ZHAO ShaoJie CHAI LinNa 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,3:2

TOX deficiency facilitates the differentiation of IL-17A-producingγδT cells to drive autoimmune hepatitis显示文摘The specification of theαβ/γδlineage and the maturation of medullary thymic epithelial cells(mTECs)coordinate central tolerance to self-antigens.However,the mechanisms underlying this biological process remain poorly clarified. Here,we report that dual-stage loss of TOX in thymocytes hierarchically impaired mTEC maturation, promoted thymic IL-17A-producingγδT-cell(Tγδ17)lineage commitment, and led to the development of fatal autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)via different mechanisms.Transfer ofγδT cells from TOX-deficient mice reproduced AIH.TOX interacted with and stabilized the TCF1 protein to maintain the balance ofγδT-cell development in thymic progenitors, and overexpression of TCF1 normalizedαβ/γδlineage specification and activation. In addition,TOX expression was downregulated inγδT cells from AIH patients and was inversely correlated with the AIH diagnostic score. Our findings suggest multifaceted roles of TOX in autoimmune control involving mTEC and Tγδ17 development and provide a potential diagnostic marker for AIH.Qifeng He Yijun Lu Wenfang Tian Runqiu Jiang Weiwei Yu Yong Liu Meiling Sun Fei Wang Haitian Zhang Ning Wu Zhongjun Dong Beicheng Sun 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,10:1

Tumor-specific and photothermal-augmented chemodynamic therapy by ferrocene-carbon dot-crosslinked nanoparticles显示文摘Extensive research have been devoted to the exploration of multifunctional theranostic agents for cancer, but the poor tumor specificity and unsatisfactory treatment efficacy are some of the critical obstacles for their clinical translations.Herein,ferrocene-carbon dot-crosslinked nanoparticles(Fc-CD NPs)were designed and fabricated for achieving highly specific and photothermal-augmented chemodynamic therapy(CDT).The Fc-CD NPs were found not only to inherit the immanent fluorescence, photoacoustic, and photothermal properties of carbon dots(CDs),but also be endowed with CDT that could occur selectively in tumor microenvironment(TME)due to the presence of Fc for triggering Fenton reaction. Moreover, the enlarged particle size of Fc-CD NPs facilitated their effective accumulation at tumor sites, thus realizing great improvement for antitumor treatment outcomes.Once docking at tumor and being exposed to 660 nm laser irradiation, significantly amplified CDT effect of Fc-CD NPs was observed due to heataccelerating generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS).More interestingly, since the produced ROS could in turn alleviate the thermal-resistance of photothermal therapy(PTT),the therapeutic efficiency of integrated PTT and CDT was synergized to the maximum extent. This study on the one hand provides a facile approach to fabricate CDs-based multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform with enhanced tumor accumulation and specificity,on the other hand emphasizes the merits of synergizing mutually beneficial therapeutic modalities for more efficient cancer therapy.Shan Sun Qiao Chen Yike Li Yao Yu Zhongjun Li Hengwei Lin 2022SmartMat2022,3,2:1

Targeting self-enhanced ROS-responsive artesunatum prodrug nanoassembly potentiates gemcitabine activity by down-regulating CDA expression in cervical cancer显示文摘Prodrug self-delivery carriers with targeting that specifically responded to tumor microenvironments have good potential to improve the application dilemma of approved clinical therapeutic drugs(systemic distribution and side effects). It's noted the conversion of gemcitabine(GEM)to inactive ingredients under the action of cytidine deaminase(CDA)during metabolism in vivo limits its clinical effect.A high level of reactive oxygen species(ROS)results in a high level of oxidative stress in tumor cells, which changes the expression of CDA and optimizes the metabolism of GEM in vivo and overcome drug resistance. In this study, the ROS responsive and ROS self-supplied prodrug of artemisia(ART)-thioacetal bond(TK)-GEM was synthesized and self-vectors based on ART-TK-GEM(TK@FA NPs)was prepared by using nano precipitation.ROS responsive characteristics ensure specific release of prodrugs in tumor cells with high level of ROS thereby reducing side effects on normal cells and tissues. The endogenous ROS and newly generated ROS by ART can reduce the expression of CDA and optimizes the metabolism of GEM,and the accumulated ROS can also induce apoptosis of tumor cells, realizing synergistic anti-tumor effect of chemical drugs and traditional Chinese medicines. This paper proposes a simple method by using clinically approved drugs to improve the insufficient effect of existing chemotherapy and overcome resistance, which has potential to appropriately shorten the drug development cycle and accelerate the clinical investigation of drugs.Shengtao Wang Kunyi Yu Zhiyu Yu Bingchen Zhang Chaojie Chen Ling Lin Zibo Li Zhongjun Li Yuhua Zheng Zhiqiang Yu 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,7:0
Magnetic resonance imaging diagnosis of acute Guillain-Barré syndrome in children显示文摘The present study examined 24 children with acute Guillain-Barré syndrome using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plain scans and fat-suppressed enhanced T1-weighted imaging (T1WI) scans.Axial MRI plain scans centering on the medullary conus were positive in nine patients (38%).These displayed variable thickening involving the cauda equina with isointensity on T1WI and isointensity or slight hyperintensity on T2WI.False negatives were obtained in patients with cervical and cranial nerve symptoms.Contrast enhancement of T1WI with fat suppression was positive in all patients in the cauda equina with varied thickening and enhancement centering on the medullary conus.Five patients (36%) were positive in the cervical nerves and 3 patients (50%) were positive in the cranial nerves. These patients had corresponding cervical and cranial nerve symptoms, respectively.Patients with serious clinical symptoms in the lower limbs exhibited obvious involvement of the cauda equina by MRI.Statistical analysis revealed a positive correlation between the extent of enlargement of the cauda equina, centering on the medullary conus, and cerebrospinal fluid protein concentration.Zhongjun Hou Xiaojun Yu Huimin Jiang Xi Li Bingyi Cao Yaotang Chen Jiao Chen 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,20:0
Two-dimensional tin diselenide nanosheets pretreated with an alkaloid for near-and mid-infrared ultrafast photonics显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)tin diselenide(SnSe2),a novel layered material with excellent optical and electronic properties, has been extensively investigated in various promising applications, including photodetectors, optical switching, and ultrafast photonics. In this work,SnSe2 nanosheets have been obtained after pretreatment in an alkaloid, exhibiting high optical absorption and electron-enriched properties.Besides, the performances of the prepared SnSe2 in near-infrared(NIR)and mid-infrared(MIR)ultrafast photonics are presented.Notably,by employing the SnSe2-deposited microfiber device as a saturable absorber(SA)exhibiting typical nonlinear optical absorption properties, stable ultrashort pulses and rogue waves are realized in an erbium-doped fiber laser.Furthermore, the SnSe2-deposited SA device is also applied to a thulium-doped fiber laser to achieve stable ultrashort pulses. This study indicates that SnSe2 is expected to be a suitable candidate for ultrafast fiber lasers in the NIR and MIR regions.Zhenhong Wang Bin Zhang Bing Hu Zhongjun Li Chunyang Ma Yu Chen Yufeng Song Han Zhang Jun Liu Guohui Nie 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:0
Determination of carbon-fixing potential of Bathyarchaeota in marine sediment by DNA stable isotope probing analysis显示文摘Bathyarchaeota is believed to play a crucial role in the global carbon cycle due to its vast biomass, broad distribution, and diverse habitat. However, its physiological and metabolic features are hard to determine without pure culture. While metagenomic analyses have shown that Bathyarchaeota has a complete inorganic carbon fixation(Wood-Ljungdahl,WL)pathway,no direct functional confirmation has been reported. To explore the inorganic carbon fixation ability of Bathyarchaeota,we used lignin and sodium bicarbonate-^(13)C(NaH^(13)CO_(3))in the long-term incubation of marine sediment samples. We found that Bathyarchaeota grew continuously in the cultivation system with lignin, and its abundance increased up to 15.3 times after10 months, increasing its fraction of all archaea from 30%to 80%.We monitored theδ^(13)C of total organic carbon to identify microbial carbon fixation in the cultivation systems, finding that it increased in the first month while NaH^(13)CO_(3)was present but only increased continuously afterward when lignin was also present.Furthermore, ultracentrifugation was performed on DNA extracted from samples at different cultivation stages to separate DNA of different buoyant densities, and bathyarchaeotal and bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA(r RNA)gene abundance were quantified using qPCR.Compared to bacteria, bathyarchaeotal 16S rRNA tended to be concentrated in heavy layers after 4 months of incubation with lignin and NaH^(13)CO_(3),indicating that Bathyarchaeota DNA contained^(13)C through proliferation based on lignin utilization and NaH^(13)CO_(3)assimilation,proving the carbon fixation capacity of Bathyarchaeota.Wenyue LIANG Tiantian YU Liang DONG Zhongjun JIA Fengping WANG 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,4:0
Individually-atomic governing d-π*orbital interactions via Cupromoted optimization of Fe-d band centers for high-efficiency zinc-air battery显示文摘It is challenging for precise governing of electronic configuration of the individually-atomic catalysts toward optimal electrocatalysis,as d-band configuration of a metal center determines the adsorption behavior of reactive species to the center in oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The addition of Cu atom modifies the d-band center position of Fe central atom, thus strengthening the d-π*orbital interactions.Herein,FeCu-NC catalyst in the nitrogen-doped carbon(NC)support containing individual dual-metal CuN4/FeN4 sites was prepared by the surface confinement strategy of zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF),treated as a model catalyst.Experimentally and theoretically co-verified dual-metal CuN4/FeN4 sites highly dispersed in the NC support, enable transferring more electrons from FeN4 sites to*OH intermediates, thereby accelerating the desorption process of*OH species.Superior to those commercial Pt/C,Our FeCu-NC catalyst exhibited extraordinary ORR activity(with a E1/2 as high as 0.87 V)and cycling stability in 0.1 M KOH electrolyte, and thereof demonstrated excellent discharge performance in zinc-air batteries. Our construction of dual-atom catalysts(DACs)provides a strategy for atom-by-atom designing high-efficiency catalysts via orbital regulation.Xinyan Zhou Kexin Song Yu Feng Chao Jiang Zhongjun Chen Zizhun Wang Nailin Yue Xin Ge Wei Zhang Weitao Zheng 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
Design of Ka-Band Phased Array Antenna with Calibration Function显示文摘In this paper,we have proposed a novel structure of Ka-band based phased array antenna with calibration function. In the design of Kaband antenna, the active phased array system is adopted and the antenna would work in the dual polarization separation mode.We have given out the schematic diagram for the proposed Ka-band antenna, where the Kaband antenna is in the form of waveguide slot array antenna, with 96 units in azimuth and 1 unit in distance. Each group of units is driven by a singlechannel Transmitter/Receiver(T/R)component,and the whole array contains 192 T/R components in total. The size of the T/R component is 55mm(length)×50mm(width)×5.8mm(height),3 Sub-micro Sub-Miniature Push-on(SSMP)blind sockets and a 21-core low-frequency socket are designed on the two sides of the T/R component. In order to meet the technical specifications of phased array antenna, the Ka-band transceiver component is designed based on Low Temperatrue Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC)technology to achieve miniaturization and lightweight. In our approach, the feed network includes two parts:transceiver network and calibration network. The transceiver network consists of 241:8 time-delay power dividers,12 two-way power dividers and 2 six-way time-delay power dividers. The power supply required by theKaband antenna unit is provided to each active component by the power module after Ka band wavelet control distribution.Simulation and measurement results are given in the form of standing wave and scanning capability.Xiao Liu Xingyao Zeng Chengxiang Hao Haibo Zhang Zhongjun Yu Ting Lv Meng Li Zhen Zhang 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,3:0
