1Hemiballism-hemichorea induced by ketotic hyperglycemia: case report with PET study and review of the literature显示文摘Hemiballism-hemichorea(HB-HC)is commonly used to describe the basal ganglion dysfunction in non-ketotic hyperglycemic elderly patients.Here we report two elderly female patients with acute onset of involuntary movements induced by hyperglycemia with positive urine ketones.We described the computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings in these two patients,which is similar to that of non-ketotic hyperglycemic HB-HC patients.FDG-PET was performed and the glucose metabolism in the corresponding lesion in these two patients was contradictory with each other.We tried to clarify the underlying mechanisms of HB-HC and explain the contradictory neuroradiological findings in FDG-PET as being performed at different clinical stages.Yuyan Tan Xiaoyu Xin Qin Xiao Shengdi Chen Li Cao Huidong Tang 2014Translational Neurodegeneration2014,3,1:21
2Performance of dithiocarbamate-type flocculant in treating simulated polymer flooding produced water显示文摘Produced water from polymer flooding is difficult to treat due to its high polymer concentration,high viscosity,and emulsified characteristics.The dithiocarbamate flocculant,DTC (T403),was prepared by the amine-terminated polyoxypropane-ether compound known as Jeffamine-T403.The product was characterized by IR spectra and elemental analysis.The DTC agent chelating with Fe 2+ produced a network polymer matrix,which captured and removed oil droplets efficiently.Oil removal by the flocculent on simulated produced water with 0,200,500,900 mg/L of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) was investigated for aspects of effectiveness of DTC (T403) dosage and concentrations of HPAM and Fe 2+ ions in the wastewater.Results showed that HPAM had a negative influence on oil removal efficiency when DTC (T403) dosage was lower than 20 mg/L.However,residual oil concentrations in tested samples with different concentrations of HPAM all decreased below 10 mg/L when DTC (T403) dosage reached 30 mg/L.The concentration of Fe 2+ in the initial wastewater had a slight effect on oil removal at the range of 2-12 mg/L.Results showed that Fe 3+ could not be used in place of Fe 2+ as Fe 3+ could not react with DTC under flocculated conditions.The effects of mineral salts ions were also investigated.Baoyu Gao 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1:18
3Characteristics of Settings and Etiologic Agents of Foodborne Disease Outbreaks—China,2020显示文摘Introduction:Foodborne diseases are a growing public health problem and have caused a large burden of disease in China.This study analyzed epidemiological characteristics of foodborne diseases in China in 2020 to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control measures.Methods:Data were collected from 30 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)in the mainland of China,excluding Xizang(Tibet)Autonomous Region,via the National Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Surveillance System・The number and proportion of outbreaks,illnesses,hospitalizations,deaths by setting,pathogen-food category pairs and etiology were calculated.Results:In 2020,7,073 foodborne disease outbreaks were reported,resulting in 37,454 illnesses and 143 deaths.Among the identified pathogens,microbial pathogens were the most common confirmed etiology,accounting for 41.7%of illnesses.Poisonous mushrooms caused the largest proportion of outbreaks(58.0%)and deaths(57.6%).For venues where foodborne disease outbreaks occur,household had the highest number of outbreaks(4,140)and deaths(128),and catering service locations caused the largest proportion of illnesses(59.9%).Outbreaks occurring between June and September accounted for 62.8%of total outbreaks.Conclusions:Foodborne disease outbreaks mainly occurred in households・Microbial pathogens remained the top cause of outbreak-associated illnesses.Poisonous mushrooms were ranked the top cause of deaths in private homes in China.The supervision and management of food safety and health education should be strengthened to reduce the burden of foodborne diseases・Publicity should be increased to reduce the incidence of mushroom poisonings in families,and supervision and management of food should be strengthened to reduce microbial contamination.Hongqiu Li Weiwei Li Yue Dai Yuyan Jiang Junhua Liang Santao Wang Maoqiang Zhuang Zheng Huang Lizi Xu Bo Xue Jikai Liu Haihong Han Sara M.Pires Ping Fu Yunchang Guo 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,42:14
4A de novo Genome of a Chinese Radish Cultivar显示文摘Here, we report a high-quality draft genome of a Chinese radish(Raphanus sativus) cultivar. This draft contains 387.73 Mb of assembled scaffolds, 83.93% of the scaffolds were anchored onto nine pseudochromosomes and 95.09% of 43 240 protein-coding genes were functionally annotated. 184.75 Mb(47.65%) of repeat sequences was identified in the assembled genome. By comparative analyses of the radish genome against 10 other plant genomes, 2 275 genes in 780 gene families were found unique to R. sativus. 6effective treatment of post-intubation subglottic stenosis in children with holmium laser therapy and cryotherapy via flexible bronchoscopy显示文摘Importance:Post-intubation subglottic stenosis(SGS)in children can be life threatening.Definitive treatment varies and lacks a universally accepted approach.Objective:We performed a prospective study to assess the safety and feasibility of holmium laser combined with cryotherapy delivered via flexible bronchoscopy for the treatment of post-intubation SGS in children.Methods:This study involved all patients with post-intubation SGS seen at the Interventional Pulmonology Department of Beijing Children's Hospital between July 2014 and December 2016.Holmium laser treatment and cryotherapy was then performed under flexible bronchoscopy,whose parents refused to accept the alternative standard treatment of tracheotomy and balloon dilation under direct laryngoscopy.results:Sixteen patients with post-intubation SGS were included in this study.Ages ranged from 2 months to 12.25 years old.According to the Cotton-Myer grading system,three cases were Grade II,12 cases were Grade III,and one case was Grade IV.According to the McCaffrey system,eight cases were Stage 1,two cases were Stage 2,and six cases were Stage 3.The average number of procedures was 4.88.Fifteen of the 16 patients achieved clinical cure.One patient achieved clinical improvement.The average treatment course duration was 55.31 days.No severe complications were seen.Post-treatment clinical symptoms,endoscopic findings and quality of life showed marked improvement.Interpretation:Our study supports the conclusion that holmium laser treatment combined with cryotherapy via flexible bronchoscopy appears to be a safe and feasible treatment for post-intubation SGS in children.Anxia Jiao Fang Liu Andrew D.Lerner Xiaochun Rao Yan Guo Chenfang Meng Yuena Pan Gan Li Zheng Li Fang Wang Jing Zhao Yuyan Ma Xicheng Liu Xin Ni Kunling Shen 2019Pediatric Investigation2019,3,1:10

9Features analysis on Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the features of the distribution and differentiation ofTraditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndromes in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).METHODS:We collected clinical data on illness course,age,fasting blood glucose,saccharogenic hemoglobin,TCM syndromes,tongue,and pulse of238 DPN patients.Differentiated main syndromes(Yin deficiency and exuberant heat,invasion of spleen by damp-heat,deficiency of both Qi and Yins,and deficiency of both Yin and Yang)and accompanying syndromes(blood stasis and phlegm-dampness)of diabetes were also recorded.The features of DPN syndromes were then analyzed.RESULTS:Among the four main syndromes of diabetes,deficiency of both Yin and Yang was the most common in the 238 DPN patients,of which89%-96%had blood stasis.CONCLUSION:The method of differentiating syndromes of diabetes can be applied to DPN patients.Deficiency of both Yin and Yang,often accompanied by blood stasis,is commonly seen.Mingdi Li Hao Su Yuyan Xiang Jingyi Zhang Jingjie Zhao Lan Lin 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:6
10Discussion on Validity of Rana maoershanensis Based on Partial Sequence of 16S rRNA Gene显示文摘Rana maoershanensis found in Mt.Maoershan in Guangxi,China was reported as a new species in 2007,but there was no molecular data for this frog.The partial sequences(543 bp) of 16S rRNA gene from 12 specimens of 3 brown frog species(Rana hanluica,R.maoershanensis and R.chensinensis) were analyzed with 17 specimens of 9 species from GenBank.The nucleotide sequence divergence between R.maoershanensis and the other brown frog species were 4.5%-6.5%,with 22-30 nucleotide substitutions at this locus.The phylogenetic relationships based on MP,ML,and Bayesian inference indicate that the brown frogs from Southern China were diverged into three groups(Clades A,B and C).R.maoershanensis was clustered together a well-supported subclade(B-1).It is suggested that R.maoershanensis is a valid species.YANG Baotian LU Yuyan LI Pipeng 2010Asian Herpetological Research2010,1,2:5

12LIN28 coordinately promotes nucleolar/ribosomal functions and represses the 2C-like transcriptional program in pluripotent stem cells显示文摘LIN28 is an RNA binding protein with important roles in early embryo development,stem cell differentiation/re-programming,tumorigenesis and metabolism.Previous studies have focused mainly on its role in the cytosol where it interacts with Let-7 microRNA precursors or mRNAs,and few have addressed LIN28's role within the nucleus.Here,we show that LIN28 displays dynamic temporal and spatial expression during murine embryo development.Maternal LIN28 expression drops upon exit from the 2-cell stage,and zygotic LIN28 protein is induced at the forming nucleolus during 4-cell to blas-tocyst stage development,to become dominantly expressed in the cytosol after implantation.In cultured pluripotent stem cells(PSCs),loss of LIN28 led to nucleolar stress and activation of a 2-cell/4-cell-like transcriptional program characterized by the expression of endogenous retrovirus genes.Mechanistically,LIN28 binds to small nucleolar RNAs and rRNA to maintain nucleolar integrity,and its loss leads to nucleolar phase separation defects,ribosomal stress and activation of P53 which in turn binds to and activates 2C transcription factor Dux.LIN28 also resides in a complex containing the nucleolar factor Nucleolin(NCL)and the transcrip-tional repressor TRIM28,and LIN28 loss leads to reduced occupancy of the NCL/TRIM28 complex on the Dux and rDNA loci,and thus de-repressed Dux and reduced rRNA expression.Lin28 knockout cells with nucleolar stress are more likely to assume a slowly cycling,translationally inert and anabolically inactive state,which is a part of previously unappreciated 2C-like transcriptional program.These findings elucidate novel roles for nucleolar LIN28 in PSCs,and a new mechanism linking 2C program and nucleolar functions in PSCs and early embryo development.Zhen Sun Hua Yu Jing Zhao Tianyu Tan Hongru Pan Yuqing Zhu Lang Chen Cheng Zhang Li Zhang Anhua Lei Yuyan Xu Xianju Bi Xin Huang Bo Gao Longfei Wang Cristina Correia Ming Chen Qiming Sun Yu Feng Li Shen Hao Wu Jianlong Wang Xiaohua Shen George Q.Daley Hu Li Jin Zhang 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,7:4
13Robust adaptive control of hypersonic flight vehicle with asymmetric AOA constraint显示文摘This paper investigates the state-constrained controller design of a hypersonic flight vehicle(HFV)based on an asymmetric barrier Lyapunov function(ABLF).The robust adaptive back-stepping controller with integral terms is applied for the HFV longitudinal dynamics.Considering the asymmetric angle of attack(AOA)constraint caused by the unique structure and scramjet,the controller is modified by constructing an ABLF,where the asymmetric constraint on AOA tracking error is introduced.Combined with the constraint on virtual control,the AOA is restricted to a predefined asymmetric interval.The system stability and the AOA constraint are guaranteed via Lyapunov analysis.Simulation results verify that the AOA can be kept in the given asymmetric interval while the altitude reference signal is tracked.Yuyan GUO Bin XU Weixin HAN Shuai LI Yueping WANG Yu ZHANG 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,11:4
14Distributed Flow Shop Scheduling with Sequence-Dependent Setup Times Using an Improved Iterated Greedy Algorithm显示文摘To meet the multi-cooperation production demand of enterprises,the distributed permutation flow shop scheduling problem(DPFSP)has become the frontier research in the field of manufacturing systems.In this paper,we investigate the DPFSP by minimizing a makespan criterion under the constraint of sequence-dependent setup times.To solve DPFSPs,significant developments of some metaheuristic algorithms are necessary.In this context,a simple and effective improved iterated greedy(NIG)algorithm is proposed to minimize makespan in DPFSPs.According to the features of DPFSPs,a two-stage local search based on single job swapping and job block swapping within the key factory is designed in the proposed algorithm.We compare the proposed algorithm with state-of-the-art algorithms,including the iterative greedy algorithm(2019),iterative greedy proposed by Ruiz and Pan(2019),discrete differential evolution algorithm(2018),discrete artificial bee colony(2018),and artificial chemical reaction optimization(2017).Simulation results show that NIG outperforms the compared algorithms.Xue Han Yuyan Han Qingda Chen Junqing Li Hongyan Sang Yiping Liu Quanke Pan Yusuke Nojima 2021Complex System Modeling and Simulation2021,1,3:4
15Survival difference between EGFR Del19 and L858R mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients receiving gefitinib:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Objective: Although superior clinical benefits of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) had been reported,the survival difference between exon 19 deletion(Del19) and exon 21 Leu858 Arg substitution(L858 R) remains controversial.The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) between different EGFR mutant subtypes among advanced NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.Methods: There were 204 advanced NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations treated with gefitinib were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study.Patients were divided into the EGFR Del19 group and the L858 R mutated group according to their mutant subtype.Propensity score matching(PSM) was conducted by using a nearest-neighbor algorithm(1:1) to adjust for demographical and clinical covariates.Survival curves were constructed with the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by using the log-rank test.Results: The PFS in Del19 group was similar to that in the L858 R group [before PSM 8.6 vs.7.2 months,P=0.072; after PSM 7.3 vs.7.2 months,P=0.155].No differences were detected in OS between the L858 R and the Del19 group(before PSM 17.8 vs.13.1 months,P=0.253; after PSM 16.9 vs.13.1 months,P=0.339).The Del19 group was significantly younger compared with the L858 R mutation group in age(P=0.015).Conclusions: No significant difference was found in the PFS or OS between the Del19 and L858 R mutant NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.The age gap might contribute to the survival differences between Del19 and L858 R groups.PSM is of important value to the elimination of potential bias.Minglei Zhuo Qiwen Zheng Jun Zhao Meina Wu Tongtong An Yuyan Wang Jianjie Li Shuhang Wang Jia Zhong Xue Yang Hanxiao Chen Bo Jia Zhi Dong Emei Gao JingjingWang Ziping Wang 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6:4
16Pan-genome of Raphanus highlights genetic variation and introgression among domesticated,wild,and weedy radishes显示文摘Post-polyploid diploidization associated with descending dysploidy and interspecific introgression drives plant genome evolution by unclear mechanisms.Raphanus is an economically and ecologically important Brassiceae genus and model system for studying post-polyploidization genome evolution and introgres-sion.Here,we report the de novo sequence assemblies for 11 genomes covering most of the typical sub-species and varieties of domesticated,wild and weedy radishes from East Asia,South Asia,Europe,and America.Divergence among the species,sub-species,and South/East Asian types coincided with Quaternary glaciations.A genus-level pan-genome was constructed with family-based,locus-based,and graph-based methods,and whole-genome comparisons revealed genetic variations ranging from single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)to inversions and translocations of whole ancestral karyotype(AK)blocks.Extensive gene flow occurred between wild,weedy,and domesticated radishes.High fre-quencies of genome reshuffling,biased retention,and large-fragment translocation have shaped the genomic diversity.Most variety-specific gene-rich blocks showed large structural variations.Extensive translocation and tandem duplication of dispensable genes were revealed in two large rearrangement-rich islands.Disease resistance genes mostly resided on specific and dispensable loci.Variations causing the loss of function of enzymes modulating gibberellin deactivation were identified and could play an important role in phenotype divergence and adaptive evolution.This study provides new insights into the genomic evolution underlying post-polyploid diploidization and lays the foundation for genetic improve-ment of radish crops,biological control of weeds,and protection of wild species'germplasms.Xiaohui Zhang Tongjin Liu Jinglei Wang Peng Wang Yang Qiu Wei Zhao Shuai Pang Xiaoman Li Haiping Wang Jiangping Song Wenlin Zhang Wenlong Yang Yuyan Sun Xixiang Li 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,12:3
17Application of immune checkpoint targets in the anti-tumor novel drugs and traditional Chinese medicine development显示文摘Immune checkpoints are the crucial regulators of immune system and play essential roles in maintaining self-tolerance,preventing autoimmune responses,and minimizing tissue damage by regulating the duration and intensity of the immune response.Furthermore,immune checkpoints are usually overexpressed in cancer cells or noninvasive cells in tumor tissues and are capable of suppressing the antitumor response.Based on substantial physiological analyses as well as preclinical and clinical studies,checkpoint molecules have been evaluated as potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of multiple types of cancers.In the last few years,extensive evidence has supported the immunoregulatory effects of traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs).The main advantage of TCMs and natural medicine is that they usually contain multiple active components,which can act on multiple targets at the same time,resulting in additive or synergistic effects.The strong immune regulation function of traditional Chinese medicine on immune checkpoints has also been of great interest.For example,Astragalus membranaceus polysaccharides can induce anti-PD-1 antibody responses in animals,and these antibodies can overcome the exhaustion of immune cells under tumor immune evasion.Furthermore,many other TCM molecules could also be novel and effective drug candidates for the treatment of cancers.Therefore,it is essential to assess the application of immune checkpoints in the development of new drugs and TCMs.In this review,we focus on research progress in the field of immune checkpoints based on three topics:(1)immune checkpoint targets and pathways,(2)development of novel immune checkpoint-based drugs,and(3)application of immune checkpoints in the development of TCMs.Yuli Wang Xingyan Zhang Yuyan Wang Wenjing Zhao Huling Li Lixing Zhang Xinping Li Tiejun Zhang Hongbing Zhang He Huang Changxiao Liu 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10:3
18Novel lift enhancement method based on zero-mass-flux jets and its adaptive controlling laws design显示文摘For lessening the weight and volume of flow control system,enlarging the circulation control applying area of angle of attack(AOA),and achieving nice controlling characteristics,a novel lift enhancement method based on dual synthetic jet actuators(DSJAs)and synthetic jet actuator(SJA),and an adaptive proportional integral and differential(PID)algorithm based on radial basis function neural network are introduced.DSJAs are uniformly located along the chord to suppress the separation and trailing-edge SJA is applied to achieve the high circulation.Velocities of actuators are modulated to realize the real speed profile and on–off controlling laws of DSJAs are designed.Numerical simulations show that DSJAs and SJA could suppress the separation completely and move leading-edge stagnation point and trailing-edge separation point downstream even at AOA of 19°,hence achieve the highest lift and nose-down moment augmentation(ΔCl_(max)=0.92,ΔCm_(max)=0.02534),andΔL/D can reach 11.39 at AOA of 18°.Stalling is delayed to more than 19°.Linear lift area and pitch-break angle are both increased to 16°.ΔCl/C_(μ) can reach 76.7,indicating the greatest control efficiency.The results of adaptive PID control,whose controlling effects are proved better than PID,indicate that lift could track the objective with the rise time of 0.0325 s and finally keep steady,suggesting the nice stability and rapidness.Zhijie Zhao Zhenbing Luo Bin Xu Xiong Deng Yuyan Guo Wenqiang Peng Shiqing Li 2021Acta Mechanica Sinica2021,37,10:3

20Pathways and assays for DNA double-strand break repair by homologous recombination显示文摘Double strand breaks(DSBs)are the most detrimental type of DNA damage that must be repaired to ensure genome integrity and cell survival.Unrepaired or improperly repaired DSBs can potentially cause tumorigenesis or cell death.DSBs are primarily repaired by non-homologous end joining or homologous recombination(HR).The HR pathway is initiated by processing of the 5′-end of DSBs to generate 3′-end single-strand DNA(ssDNA).Furthermore,the intermediate is channeled to one of the HR sub-pathways,including:(i)double Holliday junction(dHJ)pathway,(ii)synthesis-dependent strand annealing(SDSA),(iii)break-induced replication(BIR),and(iv)single-strand annealing(SSA).In the dHJ sub-pathway,the 3′-ssDNA coated with Rad51 recombinase performs homology search and strand invasion,forming a displacement loop(D-loop).Capture of the second end by the D-loop generates a dHJ intermediate that is subsequently dissolved by DNA helicase or resolved by nucleases,producing non-crossover or crossover products.In SDSA,the newly synthesized strand is displaced from the D-loop and anneals to the end on the other side of the DSBs,producing non-crossovers.In contrast,BIR repairs one-end DSBs by copying the sequence up to the end of the template chromosome,resulting in translocation or loss of heterozygosity.SSA takes place when resection reveals flanking homologous repeats that can anneal,leading to deletion of the intervening sequences.A variety of reporter assays have been developed to monitor distinct HR sub-pathways in both Saccharomyces cerevisiae and mammals.Here,we summarize the principles and representative assays for different HR sub-pathways with an emphasis on the studies in the budding yeast.Jinbao Li Huize Sun Yulin Huang Yali Wang Yuyan Liu Xuefeng Chen 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,9:2
