| 3 | Development of a Hand Exoskeleton System for Index Finger Rehabilitation显示文摘In order to overcome the drawbacks of traditional rehabilitation method,the robot-aided rehabilitation has been widely investigated for the recent years.And the hand rehabilitation robot,as one of the hot research fields,remains many challenging issues to be investigated.This paper presents a new hand exoskeleton system with some novel characteristics.Firstly,both active and passive rehabilitative motions are realized.Secondly,the device is elaborately designed and brings advantages in many aspects.For example,joint motion is accomplished by a parallelogram mechanism and high level motion control is therefore made very simple without the need of complicated kinematics.The adjustable joint limit design ensures that the actual joint angles don't exceed the joint range of motion(ROM) and thus the patient safety is guaranteed.This design can fit to the different patients with different joint ROM as well as to the dynamically changing ROM for individual patient.The device can also accommodate to some extent variety of hand sizes.Thirdly,the proposed control strategy simultaneously realizes the position control and force control with the motor driver which only works in force control mode.Meanwhile,the system resistance compensation is preliminary realized and the resisting force is effectively reduced.Some experiments were conducted to verify the proposed system.Experimentally collected data show that the achieved ROM is close to that of a healthy hand and the range of phalange length(ROPL) covers the size of a typical hand,satisfying the size need of regular hand rehabilitation.In order to evaluate the performance when it works as a haptic device in active mode,the equivalent moment of inertia(MOI) of the device was calculated.The results prove that the device has low inertia which is critical in order to obtain good backdrivability.The experiments also show that in the active mode the virtual interactive force is successfully feedback to the finger and the resistance is reduced by one-third;for the passive control mode,the desired trajectory is realized satisfactorily. | LI Jiting WANG Shuang WANG Ju ZHENG Ruoyin ZHANG Yuru CHEN Zhongyuan | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,2: | 12 |
| 4 | Buckling and post-buckling behavior of titanium alloy stiffened panels under shear load显示文摘Titanium alloy has been increasingly applied in aviation industry due to its superior performance. However, the titanium alloy structures are less studied. This work investigates the structural behavior of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy stiffened panels under in-plane shear load by experiments and numerical analysis. After the shear tests, the buckling instability, the post-buckling process and the failure mechanism of the specimen were obtained. The Finite Element(FE) models were established with the subsequent validation verification. A parametric analysis was implemented to study the influence of stringer thickness and stringer height on the behavior of the stiffened panels. The results show that after the initial local buckling on the skin, the buckling mode jumps several times with the increase of load. The stringers twist when the load reaches a certain level, and finally the structure damages due to the plastic deformation and the global buckling. The shear clip has little effect on the buckling and failure loads. | 5 | Molecular cloning and functional identification of sterol C24-methyltransferase gene from Tripterygium wilfordii显示文摘Sterol C24-methyltransferase(SMT) plays multiple important roles in plant growth and development. SMT1, which belongs to the family of transferases and transforms cycloartenol into 24-methylene cycloartenol, is involved in the biosynthesis of 24-methyl sterols. Here, we report the cloning and characterization of a cDNA encoding a sterol C24-methyltransferase from Tripterygium wilfordii(Tw SMT1). Tw SMT1(Gen Bank access number KU885950) is a 1530 bp cDNA with a 1041 bp open reading frame predicted to encode a 346-amino acid, 38.62 k Da protein. The polypeptide encoded by the SMT1 cDNA was expressed and purified as a recombinant protein from Escherichia coli(E. coli) and showed SMT activity. The expression of Tw SMT1 was highly up-regulated in T. wilfordii cell suspension cultures treated with methyl jasmonate(Me JA). Tissue expression pattern analysis showed higher expression in the phellem layer compared to the other four organs(leaf, stem, xylem and phloem), which is about ten times that of the lowest expression in leaf. | 6 | Chromosome doubling mediates superior drought tolerance in Lycium ruthenicum via abscisic acid signaling显示文摘Plants are continuously affected by unfavorable external stimuli,which influences their productivity and growth.Differences in gene composition and expression patterns lead homologous polyploid plants to exhibit different physiological phenomena,among which enhanced environmental adaptability is a powerful phenotype conferred by polyploidization.The mechanisms underlying the differences in stress tolerance between diploids and autotetraploids at the molecular level remain unclear.In this research,a full-length transcription profile obtained via the singlemolecule real-time(SMRT)sequencing of high-quality single RNA molecules for use as background was combined with next-generation transcriptome and proteome technologies to probe the variation in the molecular mechanisms of autotetraploids.Tetraploids exhibited an increase in ABA content of 78.4%under natural conditions and a superior stress-resistance phenotype under severe drought stress compared with diploids.The substantial differences in the transcriptome profiles observed between diploids and autotetraploids under normal growth conditions were mainly related to ABA biosynthesis and signal transduction pathways,and 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase 1(NCED1)and NCED2,which encode key synthetic enzymes,were significantly upregulated.The increased expression of the ABREbinding factor 5-like(ABF5-like)gene was a pivotal factor in promoting the activation of the ABA signaling pathway and downstream target genes.In addition,ABA strongly induced the expression of osmotic proteins to increase the stress tolerance of the plants at the translational level.We consider the intrinsic mechanisms by which ABA affects drought resistance in tetraploids and diploids to understand the physiological and molecular mechanisms that enhance abiotic stress tolerance in polyploid plants. | Shupei Rao Yuru Tian Xinli Xia Yue Li Jinhuan Chen | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |
| 7 | The coloring mechanism of a novel golden variety in Populus deltoides based on the RGB color mode显示文摘Compared to flower color and red leaf mutants,the mechanism of yellow leaf formation in woody plants is more complicated and less understood.Poplars are common and widely distributed perennial trees.Here,we obtained a golden leaf mutant poplar variety(JHY)and compared it with its original green leaf poplar(Populus sp.Linn.‘2025’)in terms of phenotype,pigment content,the transcriptomes and metabolomes.Through transcriptome sequencing,we found that the chlorophyll degradation genes,and the genes in anthocyanin metabolism in JHY were up-regulated compared to L2025 and the carotenoid synthesis genes were down-regulated.Further based on HPLC-ESI-MS/MS technology,16 differentially expressed anthocyanins were identified,14 reddish anthocyanins of which were significantly up-regulated.According to these results,we proposed a coloring mechanism of JHY based on the RGB color mode.The yellow color of carotenoids and the red color of anthocyanins overlay each other,combined with a reduction in chlorophyll,turning the leaves golden.This study systematic analyzes the causes of golden leaf formation through the omics integration approach,which will provide reference for the breeding of golden leaf trees. | Yuru Tian Shupei Rao Qianqian Li Meng Xu Aike Wang Hechen Zhang Jinhuan Chen | 2021 | Forestry Research2021,1,1: | 2 |
| 8 | Haptics-mediated approaches for enhancing sustained attention: framework and challenges显示文摘Sustained attention is essential in the daily human activities of perception, manipulation, and locomotion. An improvement in sustained attention exhibits potential impacts in several scenarios, including the treatment of mental disorders, such as the attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and the training of certain professionals, such as aircraft pilots, who work under environments with heavy cognitive loads. In this study, we review the haptics-mediated sustained attention-training approaches from the afferent and efferent perspectives based on the bidirectional information flow in the haptic channel. Subsequently, the feasibility of modulating and enhancing attention via the haptic channel is analyzed based on the studies that have investigated the correlation between attention and the afferent/efferent pathways of the haptic channel.We identify several research questions, including how to design diverse haptic training tasks via the afferent and/or efferent pathways and which adaptive strategies can be used to adjust the difficulty levels of haptic training tasks to ensure user engagement. Furthermore, we examine the behavioral and biological evidence that can be used to validate the training efficacy, the manner in which the neural mechanisms underlying the attention-enhancing process can be understood, and the effective variables that can be attributed to the near-and far-transfer effects. In addition, we discuss the difficulties associated with the development of novel haptic technologies. | 9 | From illite/smectite clay to mesoporous silicate adsorbent for efficient removal of chlortetracycline from water显示文摘A series of mesoporous silicate adsorbents with superior adsorption performance for hazardous chlortetracycline(CTC) were sucessfully prepared via a facile one-pot hydrothermal reaction using low-cost illite/smectite(IS) clay,sodium silicate and magnesium sulfate as the starting materials.In this process,IS clay was 'teared up' and then 'rebuilt' as new porous silicate adsorbent with high specific surface area of 363.52 m^2/g(about 8.7 folds higher than that of IS clay) and very negative Zeta potential(- 34.5 mV).The inert Si- O- Si(Mg,Al) bonds in crystal framework of IS were broken to form Si(Al)- O^- groups with good adsorption activity,which greatly increased the adsorption sites served for holding much CTC molecules.Systematic evaluation on adsorption properties reveals the optimal silicate adsorbent can adsorb 408.81 mg/g of CTC(only 159.7 mg/g for raw IS clay) and remove 99.3%(only 46.5%for raw IS clay) of CTC from 100 mg/L initial solution(pH 3.51;adsorption temperature 30℃;adsorbent dosage,3 g/L).The adsorption behaviors of CTC onto the adsorbent follows the Langmuir isotherm model,Temkin equation and pseudo second-order kinetic model.The mesopore adsorption,electrostatic attraction and chemical association mainly contribute to the enhanced adsorption properties.As a whole,the high-efficient silicate adsorbent could be candidates to remove CTC from the wastewater with high amounts of CTC. | Wenbo Wang Guangyan Tian Li Zong Yanmin Zhou Yuru Kang Qin Wang Aiqin Wang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1: | 2 |
| 10 | Mechanistic analysis for the origin of diverse diterpenes in Tripterygium wilfordii显示文摘Tripterygium wilfordii is a valuable medicinal plant rich in biologically active diterpenoids,but there are few studies on the origins of these diterpenoids in its secondary metabolism.Here,we identified three regions containing tandemly duplicated diterpene synthase genes on chromosomes(Chr) 17 and 21 of T. wilfordii and obtained 11 diterpene synthases with different functions.We farther revealed that these diterpene synthases underwent duplication and rearrangement at approximately 2.3-23.7 million years ago(MYA) by whole-genome triplication(WGT),transposon mediation,and tandem duplication,followed by functional divergence.We first demonstrated that four key amino acids in the sequences of TwCPS3,TwCPS5,and TwCPSS were altered during evolution,leading to their functional divergence and the formation of diterpene secondary metabolites.Then,we demonstrated that the functional divergence of three TwKSLs was driven by mutations in two key amino acids.Finally,we discovered the mechanisms of evolution and pseudogenization of miltiradiene synthases in T.wilfordii and elucidated that the new function in TwMS1/2 from the terpene synthase(TPS)-b subfamily was caused by progressive changes in multiple amino acids after the WGT event.Our results provide key evidence for the formation of diverse diterpenoids during the evolution of secondary metabolites in T.wilfordii. | Lichan Tu Xinbo Cai Yifeng Zhang Yuru Tong Jian Wang Ping Su Yun Lu Tianyuan Hu Yunfeng Luo Xiaoyi Wu Dan Li Luqi Huang Wei Gao | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6: | 1 |

| 14 | Small-signal stability analysis of photovoltaic generation connected to weak AC grid显示文摘A small-signal model of photovoltaic(PV)generation connected to weak AC grid is established based on a detailed model of the structure and connection of a PV generation system. An eigenvalue analysis is then employed to study the stability of PV generation for different grid strengths and control parameters in a phaselocked loop(PLL) controller in the voltage source converter. The transfer function of the power control loop in the dq rotation frame is developed to reveal the influence mechanism of PLL gains on the small-signal stability of PV generation. The results can be summarized as follows:(1)oscillation phenomena at a frequency of about 5 Hz may occur when the grid strength is low;(2) the tuning control parameters of the PLL have a noticeable effect on the damping characteristics of the system, and larger proportional gain can improve the system damping;(3)within a frequency range of 4-5 Hz,the PLL controller has positive feedback on the power loop of PV generation. A virtual inductance control strategy is proposed to improve the operational stability of PV generation. | 15 | Identification and characterization of Letm1 gene in Toxoplasma gondii显示文摘Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular protozoan that causes toxoplasmosis.Previous studies have shown that the perturbation of mitochondrial metabolism in T.gondii results in growth deficiency in host cells and lack of virulence in animals.Members of this Letm1 protein family are inner mitochondrial membrane proteins which play a role in potassium and hydrogen ion exchange.Letm1 has not been characterized in T.gondii.In this study,a potential TgLetm1 gene (TgGT1_288400) with Letm1-like protein domain coding sequence was identified in T.gondii.Indirect immunofluorescence assays suggested that TgLetm1 localized to the mitochondria in tachyzoites,as indicated by the colocalization with mitochondrial marker Mitotracker.TgLetm1 was found in the membrane fraction by western blot analysis.To investigate the role of TgLetm1 in T.gondii,we generated a tetracycline-inducible TgLetm1-knock-down mutant.The conditional deletion of TgLetm1 resulted in mitochondrial swelling.Functional studies showed that the conditional deletion of TgLetm1 resulted in growth inhibition,deficiency in invasion and replication,and lack of virulence in mice. | Le Chang Xichen Zhang Pengtao Gong Yuru Wang Boya Du Jianhua Li | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Duration of acute kidney injury predicts 90-day mortality and chronic kidney disease progression in elderly patients显示文摘Background:This study evaluated the prognostic impact of acute kidney injury(AKI)duration on 90-d mortality and new-onset chronic kidney disease(CKD)progression in elderly patients.Methods:We retrospectively enrolled elderly patients(≥75 years;n=693)from the Chinese PLA General Hospital between January 1,2007 and December 31,2018.The 2012 Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes(KDIGO)defined serum creatinine(Scr)criteria were used to identify and classify AKI.Patients were divided into transient AKI(T-AKI)and persistent AKI(P-AKI)groups based on whether Scr levels returned to baseline within 48 h post-AKI.We further classified P-AKI based on AKI duration:(1)short duration:resolving AKI lasting 3–4 days;(2)medium duration:resolving AKI lasting 5–7 days;and(3)long duration:AKI lasting>7 days.Results:Among patients,62(9.0%)had T-AKI(1–2 days),104(15.0%)had short-duration,140(20.2%)had medium-duration,and 387(55.8%)had long-duration.In total,209(30.2%)died within 90 days;122(25.2%)developed CKD.After adjusting for multiple covariates,duration of AKI(3–4 days:hazard ratio[HR]=2.512;P=0.045;5–7 days:HR=3.154;P=0.015;>7 days:HR=6.212;P<0.001)was significantly associated with a higher 90-day mortality.Longer AKI duration(3–4 days:odds ratio[OR]=0.982;P=0.980;5–7 days:OR=1.322;P=0.661;>7 days:OR=7.007;P<0.001)was significantly associated with new-onset CKD of survivors.Conclusion:AKI duration is useful for predicting poorer clinical outcomes in elderly patients,emphasizing the importance of identifying an appropriate treatment window for early intervention. | Qinglin Li Yuru Li Feihu Zhou | 2022 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,2: | 0 |

| 20 | Stable yellow light emission from lead-free copper halides single crystals for visible light communication显示文摘Yellow light-emitting diodes(LEDs) as soft light have attracted abundant attention in lithography room, museum and art gallery. However, the development of efficient yellow LEDs lags behind green and blue LEDs, and the available perovskites yellow LEDs suffer from the instability. Herein, a pressure-assisted cooling method is proposed to grow lead-free CsCu2I3single crystals, which possess uniform surface morphology and enhanced photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY) stability, with only 10% PLQY losses after being stored in air after 5000 h.Then, the single crystals used for yellow LEDs without encapsulation exhibit a decent Correlated Color Temperature(CCT) of 4290 K, a Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage(CIE) coordinate of(0.38, 0.41), and an excellent 570-h operating stability under heating temperature of 100°C. Finally, the yellow LEDs facilitate the application in wireless visible light communication(VLC), which show a-3 dB bandwidth of 21.5 MHz and a high achievable data rate of 219.2 Mbps by using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) modulation with adaptive bit loading.
