2Studies on the overexpression of the soybean GmNHX1 in Lotus corniculatus: The reduced Na^+ level is the basis of the increased salt tolerance显示文摘The full length cDNA coding for a novel vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporter (GmNHX1) was cloned from soybean and determined to consist of 2591 bp with a 5′-untranslated region of 464 bp, an open reading frame (ORF) of 1641 bp, and a 3′-untrans- lated region of 486 bp. The deduced protein se- quence contains 546 aa with the typical characters of the vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporters, and shares high similarity with that of AtNHX1, OsNHX1 and AgNHX1. The soybean genome showed a single copy of the GmNHX1 gene. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that the expression of the GmNHX1 was tissue-spe- cific, increased by ABA treatment, NaCl, KCl, LiCl and dehydration stress, and lower in leaves but higher in roots and hypocotyls of salt-tolerant than salt-sensitive cultivars. The GmNHX1 was overex- pressed under the control of a tandem cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter in the model le- guminous plant Lotus corniculatus L. and conferred salt-tolerance of the transgenic plants. 3Current status of applying microwave-associated catalysis for the degradation of organics in aqueous phase – A review显示文摘Interactions between microwaves and certain catalysts can lead to efficient, energy-directed convergence of a relatively dispersed microwave field onto the reactive sites of the catalyst,which produces thermal or discharge effects around the catalyst. These interactions form'high-energy sites'(HeS) that promote energy efficient utilization and enhanced in situ degradation of organic pollutants. This article focuses on the processes occurring between microwaves and absorbing catalysts, and presents a critical review of microwave-absorbing mechanisms. This article also discusses aqueous phase applications of relevant catalysts(ironbased, carbon-based, soft magnetic, rare earth, and other types) and microwaves, special effects caused by the dimensions and structures of catalytic materials, and the optimization and design of relevant reactors for microwave-assisted catalysis of wastewater. 7Agonistic AT_1 Receptor Autoantibody Increases in Serum of Patients with Refractory Hypertension and Improves Ca^(2+) Mobilization in Cultured Rat Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells显示文摘Agonistic AT1 receptor autoantibodies (AT1-AAs) have been described in the patients with malignant hypertension or preeclampia. Furthermore, AT1-AAs were highly associated with refractory hypertension. Function of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is important in the regulation of blood pressure. We investigated and compared the ability of angiotensin II (Ang II) and AT1-AAs to stimulate the intracellular calcium mobilization and cellular proliferation of rat VSMCs. Twenty-two patients with refractory hypertension, 24 patients with non-refractory hypertension and 37 normotensives were recruited. The serum of each patient was detected for the presence of AT1-AAs by ELISA. Ang II and the AT1-AAs from the sera of patients were used to stimulate rat VSMCs in vitro. AT1-AAs were detected in 10/22, 3/24 and 3/37 of patients with refractory hypertension, non-refractory hypertension and normotensives, respectively. AT1-AAs led the increase intracellular calcium mobilization in a dose-dependent manner and cellular proliferation of VSMCs just as Ang II. Both of these effects caused by AT1-AAs were blocked with losartan or a peptide corresponding to a part of the second extracellular loop of AT1 receptor. Since AT1-AAs exhibited pharmacological activity in rat VSMCs just as Ang II, they might play a role in the elevation of peripheral vascular resistance and in vascular remodeling. 8Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell transplantation for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy显示文摘Due to their relative abundance,stable biological properties and excellent reproductive activity,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells have previously been utilized for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy,which is a muscular atrophy disease.Three patients who were clinically and pathologically diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy were transplanted with umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells by intravenous infusion,in combination with multi-point intramuscular injection.They were followed up for 12 months after cell transplantation.Results showed that clinical symptoms significantly improved,daily living activity and muscle strength were enhanced,the sero-enzyme,electromyogram,and MRI scans showed improvement,and dystrophin was expressed in the muscle cell membrane.Hematoxylin-eosin staining of a muscle biopsy revealed that muscle fibers were well arranged,fibrous degeneration was alleviated,and fat infiltration was improved.These pieces of evidence suggest that umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell transplantation can be considered as a new regimen for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.Xiaofeng Yang Yifeng Xu Naiwu Lu Yibin Zhang Hongmei Wang Xin Lu Jiping Cui JinxuZhou Hong Shan Yanxiang Wu Xinping Liu 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,10:4

12Anomalous temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity of molten Sb显示文摘Using the d.c. four-probe method, the electrical resistivity of high-purity liquid Sb has been accurately measured as functions of temperature. It is observed that the resistivity of liquid Sb changes abnormally with increasing temperature, which is very different from that of simple liquid metals. Based on the reported structure factor at several temperatures, the results obtained in this work have been discussed and interpreted qualitatively according to Ziman theory. The analysis suggests that the existence of short-range order structure near the melting point can account for the abnormal phenomenon observed in the resistivity of liquid Sb, in which semimetal-metal transaction takes place in the melting process. 13Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel tricyclic matrinic derivatives as potential anti-filovirus agents显示文摘Twenty-six novel tricyclic sophoridinic and matrinic derivatives containing a common chlorinated benzene fragment were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their anti-ebolavirus(EBOV)activities. Structure–activity relationship analysis indicated:(i) 12 N-dichlorobenzyl motif was beneficial for the activity;(ii) the chiral configuration at C5 atom might not affect the activity much. Among the target compounds, compound 7d exhibited the most potent potency against EBOV with an IC_(50) value of 5.29 μmol/L and an SI value of over 37.8. Further in vivo anti-EBOV assay of 7d identified its high effectiveness, and in vivo anti-MARV assay of 7d suggested its inspiring broad-spectrum anti-filovirus activity. 14Current knowledge of Krüppel-like factor 5 and vascular remodeling: providing insights for therapeutic strategies显示文摘Vascular remodeling is a pathological basis of various disorders. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the occurrence, prevention, and treatment of vascular remodeling. Krüppel-like factor 5 (KLF5) has been identified as a significant factor in cardiovascular diseases during the last two decades. This review provides a mechanism network of function and regulation of KLF5 in vascular remodeling based on newly published data and gives a summary of its potential therapeutic applications. KLF5 modulates numerous biological processes, which play essential parts in the development of vascular remodeling, such as cell proliferation, phenotype switch, extracellular matrix deposition, inflammation, and angiogenesis by altering downstream genes and signaling pathways. 16Effect of copper on magnetostriction and mechanical properties of TbDyFe alloys显示文摘The intrinsic brittleness of the TbDyFe alloy significantly decreases its mach inability and applications.This paper aims to improve the toughness of TbDyFe alloy by adding Cu. Various alloys of the type(Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.7))_(0.37)Fe_(0.63-χ)Cu_χ(χ=0, 0,01.0.03, 0.05, 0.08, 0.1) were fabricated by an arc melting furnace under a high purity argon atmosphere. The microstructure, magnetostrictive properties and mechanical performance were studied systematically. The results show that the (Tb,Dy)Cu phase forms in these alloys upon the addition of Cu. Correspondingly, their toughness improves, attributed to the formation of a (Tb,Dy)Cu phase. Compared to the Cu-free alloy, the fracture toughness (Kic) increases 2-3 times with increasing Cu content. However, the magnetostriction performance of these alloys declines with Cu addition, due to the low-magnetic performance of the (Tb,Dy)Cu phase at room temperature. 17Ultrafast multi-target control of tightly focused light fields显示文摘The control of ultrafast optical field is of great interest in developing ultrafast optics as well as the investigation on vari-ous light-matter interactions with ultrashort pulses.However,conventional spatial encoding approaches have only lim-ited steerable targets usually neglecting the temporal effect,thus hindering their broad applications.Here we present a new concept for realizing ultrafast modulation of multi-target focal fields based on the facile combination of time-depend-ent vectorial diffraction theory with fast Fourier transform.This is achieved by focusing femtosecond pulsed light carrying vectorial-vortex by a single objective lens under tight focusing condition.It is uncovered that the ultrafast temporal de-gree of freedom within a configurable temporal duration(~400 fs)plays a pivotal role in determining the rich and exotic features of the focused optical field at one time,namely,bright-dark alternation,periodic rotation,and longitudinal/trans-verse polarization conversion.The underlying control mechanisms have been unveiled.Besides being of academic in-terest in diverse ultrafast spectral regimes,these peculiar behaviors of the space-time evolutionary beams may underpin prolific ultrafast-related applications such as multifunctional integrated optical chip,high-efficiency laser trapping,micro-structure rotation,super-resolution optical microscopy,precise optical measurement,and liveness tracking.Yanxiang Zhang Xiaofei Liu Han Lin Dan Wang Ensi Cao Shaoding Liu Zhongquan Nie Baohua Jia 2022Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,3:2

19The role of a drug-loaded poly(lactic co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) copolymer stent in the treatment of ovarian cancer显示文摘Objectives:Cisplatin(CDDP)is a widely used and effective basic chemotherapeutic drug for the treatment of a variety of tumors,including ovarian cancer.However,adverse side effects and acquired drug resistance are observed in the clinical application of CDDP.Identifying a mode of administration that can alleviate side effects and reduce drug resistance has become a promising strategy to solve this problem.Methods:In this study,3 D printing technology was used to prepare a CDDP-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(CDDP-PLGA)polymer compound stent,and its physicochemical properties and cytotoxicity were evaluated both in vitro and in vivo.Results:The CDDP-PLGA stent had a significant effect on cell proliferation and apoptosis and clearly decreased the size of subcutaneous tumors in nude mice,whereas the systemic side effects were mild compared with those of intraperitoneal CDDP injection.Compared with the control group,CDDP-PLGA significantly increased the mRNA and protein levels of p-glycoprotein(P<0.01;P<0.01)and decreased vascular endothelial growth factor mRNA(P<0.05)and protein levels(P<0.01),however,CDDP-PLGA significantly decreased the mR NA and protein levels of p-glycoprotein(P<0.01;P<0.01)and vascular endothelial growth factor(P<0.01;P<0.01),which are associated with chemoresistance,in subcutaneous tumor tissue.Immunohistochemistry assay results revealed that,in the CDDP-PLGA group,the staining of the proliferation-related genes Ki67 and PCNA were lightly,and the apoptosis-related gene caspase-3 stained deeply.Conclusions:PLGA biomaterials loaded with CDDP,as compared with the same amount of free CDDP,showed good efficacy in terms of cytotoxicity,as evidenced by changes in apoptosis.Continuous local CDDP release can decrease the systemic side effects of this drug and the occurrence of drug resistance and angiogenesis,and improve the therapeutic effect.This new approach may be an effective strategy for the local treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer.Yanqing Wang Xiaoyin Qiao Xiao Yang Mengqin Yuan Shu Xian Li Zhang Dongyong Yang Shiyi Liu Fangfang Dai Zhikai Tan Yanxiang Cheng 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1:2
