| 1 | Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine preparations in patients with chronic heart failure:a prospective,single-blind,randomized,controlled,and multicenter clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) of Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) preparations.METHODS: This prospective, single-blind, randomized, controlled, and multicenter clinical trial began on September 17, 2008, and was completed on June 25, 2011. A total of 340 inpatients, aged 40-79 years, with exacerbating CHF from 10 hospitals were enrolled and randomly allocated within 24 h of admission. The trial included three intervention periods. During hospitalization, the control group received western medication for CHF and the treatment group received Danhong injection with Shenfu injection or Shenmai injection. After discharge,all patients were treated with Qiliqiangxin capsules and Buyiqiangxin tablets or a placebo for 6 months. After the 6-month intervention, both groups received only continuous western medication. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality.The efficacy assessments were as follows: B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP), Lee's HF score, the 6-minute walking test(6 MWT), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ). The safety assessments were as follows: blood and urine routine examination, hepatic and renal function, electrolytes in blood and adverse events.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a 30.99% reduction in all-cause mortality and an improved survival rate.The treatment group showed greater improvement in 6 MWT(P = 0.02) than the control group on discharge, after 12-month follow-up, there was a time-group interaction for MLHFQ(P = 0.03). | 3 | Luteolin attenuates neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampi of diabetic encephalopathy rats显示文摘Luteolin (3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone) has powerful anti-apoptotic and antioxidant properties. This study aimed to investigate the effects of luteolin on hyperglycemia-mediated apoptosis in the hippocampi of rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetic encephalopathy after injection into the tail veins, and the molecular mechanisms involved. Biochemistry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labelling detection results showed that luteolin treatment (given twice daily for 15 days) significantly inhibited hyperglycemia-mediated apoptosis, decreased malondialdehyde levels and increased glutathione levels in the hippocampi of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Western blot analysis revealed that luteolin also inhibited the expression of apoptosis-related factors and cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Luteolin also improved the learning and memory abilities of rats with diabetic encephalopathy in a water maze test. Further western blot analysis revealed that luteolin treatment facilitated neuronal cell survival through activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signaling pathway, an extracellular signal pathway involved in the suppression of cell apoptosis and promotion of cell survival. These experimental findings indicate that luteolin can inhibit apoptosis of hippocampal nerve cells in rats with diabetic encephalopathy, and that this effect is mediated by an indirect antioxidative effect, the inhibition of activation of apoptosis-related factors and the activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signal pathway. | Guiru Ren Jingjing Kong Ning Jia Xiuli Shang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013，8，12： | 1 |

| 8 | Simultaneous Desorption of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Heavy Metals from Contaminated Soils by Rhamnolipid Biosurfactants显示文摘Hydrophobic organic compounds(HOCs)and heavy metals(HMs)are toxins that usually coexist in natural environments.Due to the differences in their properties,it remains challenging to simultaneously remove HMs and HOCs.In this study,the removal of phenanthrene(Phe)and lead(Pb)from co-contaminated soils by single rhamnolipid(RL)and mixed RL-sophorolipid(SL)biosurfactants were evaluated via soil column experiments.Biosurfactant micelle sizes were determined by dynamic light scattering,and the mechanisms of micelle solubilization were studied.The effects of biosurfactant concentrations,pH,washing agent salinity and the ageing time of polluted soils on Phe and Pb desorption efficiencies were also assessed.The substantial removal of Phe and Pb using mixed RL-SL systems,when molar fractions of RLs were 0.7,was attributed to large mixed micelle formation and lower sorption losses of these systems.The optimal pH value was 6.0,while Phe desorption was favoured at high RLs and low ionic strengths.However,the RLs concentration and ionic strength had no obvious influence on Pb removal.In addition,both Phe and Pb desorption decreased with increased ageing of the polluted soils.Combined RL-SL biosurfactants can be effective for simultaneously removing HOCs and HMs from polluted soils. | WU Liang SONG Dandan YAN Lele LIANG Shengkang YANG Yanqun PENG Changsheng SHANG Yujun WANG Xiuli DONG Xueliang | 2020 | Journal of Ocean University of China2020，19，4： | 0 |
