| 1 | Connecting the P300 to the diagnosis and prognosis of unconscious patients显示文摘The residual consciousness of unconscious patients can be detected by studying the P300, a wave among event-related potentials. Previous studies have applied tones, the subject's name and other names as stimuli. However, the results were not satisfactory. In this study, we changed the constituent order of subjects' two-character names to create derived names. The subject's derived names, together with tones and their own names, were used as auditory stimuli in event-related potential experiments. Healthy controls and unconscious patients were included in this study and made to listen to these auditory stimuli. In the two paradigms, a sine tone followed by the subject's own name and the subject's derived name followed by the subject's own name were used as standard and deviant stimuli, respectively. The results showed that all healthy controls had the P300 using both paradigms, and that the P300 in the second paradigm had a longer latency and two peaks. All minimally conscious state patients had the P300 in the first paradigm and the majority of them had the P300 in the second paradigm. Most vegetative state patients had no P300. Patients who showed the P300 in the two paradigms had more residual consciousness, and patients with the two-peak P300 had a higher probability of awakening within a short time. | 2 | Spider web-like carbonized bacterial cellulose/MoSe_(2) nanocomposite with enhanced microwave attenuation performance and tunable absorption bands显示文摘It is essential to manufacture microwave absorbers with strong absorption as well as tunable absorption bands at a low filler content.However,it remains challenging for pure biomass material to reach this goal without loading other components.MoSe_(2),as a transition metal chalcogenide with semiconductor properties,has emerged as a potential microwave absorber filler.Herein,bacterial cellulose(BC)-derived carbon nanofibers/MoSe_(2) nanocomposite was fabricated and phosphoric acid was used to dope phosphorus in BC,in which MoSe_(2) microspheres were dropped on the BC network like a dew-covered spider web.This unique network structure enhances conductive loss and multiple reflections of the incident wave.The collocation of BC and MoSe_(2) is helpful to impedance match and introduces interfacial/dipolar polarization loss;moreover,the P-doping of BC helps to tune the absorption bands.Overall,the optimal reflection loss of undoped one reaches−53.33 dB with only 20 wt.%filler content,whose main absorption peaks focus on X-band.Interestingly,after the P-doping of BC,the main absorption peaks move to Ku-band and the optimal reflection loss gets stronger(−66.84 dB)with the same filler loading.Strong absorption and tunable absorption bands can be realized,and thus wide frequency range is covered.This work is expected to enlighten future exploration of biomass carbon materials on high-performance microwave absorption materials. | Zhengjian Xu Man He Yuming Zhou Shuangxi Nie Yongjuan Wang Yao Huo Yifan Kang Ruili Wang Ran Xu Hao Peng Xi Chen | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,3: | 6 |

| 4 | Assessment of Flood Catastrophe Risk for Grain Production at the Provincial Scale in China Based on the BMM Method显示文摘Flood catastrophe risk assessment is imperative for the steady development of agriculture under the context of global climate change,and meanwhile,it is an urgent scientific issue need to be solved in agricultural risk assessment discipline.This paper developed the methodology of flood catastrophe risk assessment,which can be shown as the standard process of crop loss calculation,Monte Carlo simulation,the generalized extreme value distribution(GEV)fitting,and risk evaluation.Data on crop loss were collected based on hectares covered by natural disasters,hectares affected by natural disasters,and hectares destroyed by natural disasters using the standard equation.Monte Carlo simulation based on appropriate distribution was used to expand sample size to overcome the insufficiency of crop loss data.Block maxima model(BMM)approach based on the extreme value theory was for modeling the generalized extreme value distribution(GEV)of flood catastrophe loss,and then flood catastrophe risk at the provincial scale in China was calculated.The Type III Extreme distribution(Weibull)has a weighted advantage of modeling flood catastrophe risk for grain production.The impact of flood catastrophe to grain production in China was significantly serious,and high or very high risk of flood catastrophe mainly concentrates on the central and eastern regions of China.Given the scenario of suffering once-in-a-century flood disaster,for majority of the major-producing provinces,the probability of 10%reduction of grain output is more than 90%.Especially,the probabilities of more than 15%decline in grain production reach up to 99.99,99.86,99.69,and 91.60%respectively in Anhui,Jilin,Liaoning,and Heilongjiang.Flood catastrophe assessment can provide multifaceted information about flood catastrophe risk that can help to guide management of flood catastrophe. | XU Lei ZHANG Qiao ZHOU Ai-lian HUO Ran | 2013 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2013,12,12: | 5 |

| 7 | Classification of brain arteriovenous malformations located in motor-related areas based on location and anterior choroidal artery feeding显示文摘Objective Surgical management of arteriovenous malformations(AVMs)involving motor cortex or fibre tracts(M-AVMs)is challenging.This study aimed to construct a classification system based on nidus locations and anterior choroidal artery(AChA)feeding to pre-surgically evaluate motor-related and seizure-related outcomes in patients undergoing resection of M-AVMs.Methods and materials A total of 125 patients who underwent microsurgical resection of M-AVMs were retrospectively reviewed.Four subtypes were identified based on nidus location:(I)nidus involving the premotor area and/or supplementary motor areas;(II)nidus involving the precentral gyrus;(III)nidus involving the corticospinal tract(CST)and superior to the posterior limb of the internal capsule;(IV)nidus involving the CST at or inferior to the level of posterior limb of the internal capsule.In addition,we divided type IV into type IVa and type IVb according to the AChA feeding.Surgical-related motor deficit(MD)evaluations were performed 1 week(short-term)and 6 months(long-term)after surgery.Results The type I patients exhibited the highest incidence(62.0%)of pre-surgical epilepsy among the four subtypes.Multivariate analysis showed that motor-related area subtypes(p=0.004)and diffuse nidus(p=0.014)were significantly associated with long-term MDs.Long-term MDs were significantly less frequent in type I than in the other types.Type IV patients acquired the highest proportion(four patients,25.0%)of long-term poor outcomes(mRS>2).Type IVb patients showed a significantly higher incidence of post-surgical MDs than type IVa patients(p=0.041).The MDs of type III or IV patients required more recovery time.Of the 62 patients who had pre-surgical seizures,90.3%(56/62)controlled their seizures well and reached Engel class I after surgery.Conclusions Combining the consideration of location and AChA feeding,the classification for M-AVMs is a useful approach for predicting post-surgical motor function and decision-making. | Yuming Jiao Hao Li Weilun Fu Jiancong Weng Ran Huo Yinyan Wang Shuo Wang Tao Jiang Yong Cao Ji Zong Zhao | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3: | 4 |

| 10 | Investigation on mechanical exhaust of cabin fire in large-space building显示文摘A calculation model for mechanical exhaust rate in large-space building in the case of cabin fire is proposed through theoretical analysis. Full-scale hot smoke tests are then performed to study the cabin fire spreading to large-space building at dif- ferent air change rates (ACH). The result indicates that under the standard pre- scribed ACH, the effective air heights in the large spaces are respectively 6, 4 and 2 m in the case of cabin fires of 0.34, 0.67 and 1 MW. Numerical experiment has been conducted using self-developing two-zone model. The smoke control effi- ciency is compared by varying the large space’s air change rate in the case of cabin fires ranging from 0.25 to 4 MW. The calculation results show that the air change rates are respectively 3, 6, 10 and 10 ACH when the smoke layer is kept above 5 m, indicating that the centralized exhaust rates far exceed the standard prescribed value. To address this problem, a set of subsidiary distributed mechanical exhaust installing in the cabin with high fire loads is proposed. | 18 | Flood variability in the upper Yangtze River over the last millennium——Insights from a comparison of climate-hydrological model simulated and reconstruction显示文摘Understanding hydrological responses to rising levels of greenhouse gases are essential for climate and impact research.It is,however,often limited by a lack of long record of observational data to provide a basis for understanding the longterm behavior of the climate system.Integrating reconstructed data and(global climate and hydrological)model simulations will help us to better understand the variability of climate and hydrology over timescales ranging from decades to centuries.In this study,we proposed an integrated approach to study flood variability in the upper reach of the Yangtze River over the last millennium to the end of the 21st century.To accomplish this,we first drove hydrological models using the precipitation and temperature from four Global Climate Models(GCM),BCC-CSM1.1,MIROC,MRI-CGCM3,and CCSM4,to simulate daily discharge for the upper reach of the Yangtze River during the period of the last millennium(850–1849),historical period(1850–2005),and a future period(2006–2099).Then,we evaluated whether the modeled precipitation,temperature,and extreme discharge had statistical properties similar to those shown in the documented dry-wet periods,temperature anomalies,and paleoflood records.Finally,we explored the extreme discharge variability using model simulations.The results indicate that:(1)The MIROC-ESM model,differing from the other three GCM models,revealed positive temperature changes from the warm period(Medieval Climate Anomaly;MCA)to the cold period(Little Ice Age;LIA),while the temperature variability of the other models was similar to the records.(2)The BCC-CSM1.1 model performed better than the others regarding correlations between modeled precipitation and documented dry-wet periods.(3)Over most of the subbasins in the upper Yangtze River,the magnitude of extreme discharge in the BCC-CSM1.1 model results showed that there was a decrease from the MCA to the LIA period and an increase in the historical period relative to the cold period,while a future increase was projected by the four GCMs under the influence of climate change. | Ran HUO Hua CHEN Lu LI Chong-Yu XU Jingjing LI Si HONG Chesheng ZHAN Jun XIA | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,3: | 1 |

| 20 | Association of atherosclerotic plaque features with collateral circulation status in elderly patients with chronic carotid stenosis显示文摘Objective To determine the association of carotid plaque features with collateral circulation status in elderly patients with moderate to severe carotid stenosis.Methods Elderly patients(>60 years)with moderate to severe carotid stenosis were recruited and categorized into good and poor collateral circulation groups,and underwent magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography imaging.The carotid plaque features including lipid-rich necrotic core,intraplaque hemorrhage,calcification,and fibrous cap rupture(FCR)were evaluated,and maximum wall thickness,normalized wall index(NWI),and luminal stenosis were measured.The association between these variables and collateral circulation status was analyzed.Results Of the 97 patients(78 males,mean age:69.0±6.1 years),19(19.6%)had poor collaterals.The poor collateral group had a significantly higher NWI(93.7%±5.0%vs.89.0%±7.9%,P=0.011),a greater extent of stenosis(80.0%±11.4%vs.75.3%±9.4%,P=0.036)and FCR(84.2%vs.55.1%,P=0.020)compared with good collateral group.Carotid NWI(OR=3.83,95%CI:1.36–10.82,P=0.011)and more FCR(OR=6.77,95%CI:1.35–33.85,P=0.020)were associated with poor collateral circulation after adjustment for the confounding factors.The combination of NWI,FCR,systolic blood pressure,and triglycerides had the highest area-under-the-curve(AUC=0.85)for detection of poor collaterals.Conclusions Carotid plaque features,specifically NWI and FCR,are independently associated with poor collateral circulation,and the combination of carotid plaque features and traditional risk factors has a stronger predictive value for poor collateral circulation than plaque features alone. | Hui-Min XU Ran HUO Rui-Jing XIN Dan-Dan YANG Ying LIU Ning LANG Xi-Hai ZHAO Tao WANG Hui-Shu YUAN | 2020 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020,17,4: | 1 |
