2Coastal seafloor observatory at Xiaoqushan in the East China Sea显示文摘The seafloor observation system is becoming an important infrastructure for marine research because it is transforming oceanic research from temporal investigation to long term observation.The East China Sea coastal seafloor observatory,located between 30°31′44″N,122°15′12″E and 30°31′34″N,122°14′40″E,is constructed near the Xiaoqushan Island outside the Hangzhou Bay on the inner continental shelf of the East China Sea.The observatory is connected by a submarine optical fiber composite power cable that is more than one kilometer long and consists of a special junction box that transmits power and communication signals to different instruments.The special junction box has a variety of waterproof plugs and connects to three different instruments installed in a trawl preventer.The submarine optical fiber composite power cable is landed on the platform by The East China Sea Branch,State Oceanic Administration and the power is continuously supplied by the solar panels and solar battery on the top of the platform.The real time data are directly sent through the cable to the platform and are transmitted by CDMA wireless to the receiver at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology of Tongji University.Measurements at the observatory have been taken since April 20,2009 after installation and the results have been interpreted.The characteristics of the near bottom boundary are constrained by a sediment suspension model using portion of the observed data.In particular,discussion is provided on the sea surface height anomaly at Xiaoqushan Island influenced by the tsunami driven by the 2010 Earthquake in Chile.The successful establishment of the coastal seafloor observatory is the first step toward future development of seafloor observation systems in China.It not only accumulates experiences in technology and engineering,but also paves the way for performing important oceanic research using the long term continuous observation platform.XU HuiPing ZHANG YanWei XU ChangWei LI JianRu LIU Ding QIN RuFu LUO ShenQian FAN DaiDu 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:10
3New Hybrid Parallel Algorithm for Variable-sized Batch Splitting Scheduling with Alternative Machines in Job Shops显示文摘The batch splitting scheduling problem has recently become a major target in manufacturing systems, and the researchers have obtained great achievements, whereas most of existing related researches focus on equal-sized and consistent-sized batch splitting scheduling problem, and solve the problem by fixing the number of sub-batches, or the sub-batch sizes, or both. Under such circumstance and to provide a practical method for production scheduling in batch production mode, a study was made on the batch splitting scheduling problem on alternative machines, based on the objective to minimize the makespan. A scheduling approach was presented to address the variable-sized batch splitting scheduling problem in job shops trying to optimize both the number of sub-bathes and the sub-batch sizes, based on differential evolution(DE), making full use of the finding that the sum of values of genes in one chromosome remains the same before and after mutation in DE. Considering before-arrival set-up time and processing time separately, a variable-sized batch splitting scheduling model was established and a new hybrid algorithm was brought forward to solve both the batch splitting problem and the batch scheduling problem. A new parallel chromosome representation was adopted, and the batch scheduling chromosome and the batch splitting chromosome were treated separately during the global search procedure, based on self-adaptive DE and genetic crossover operator, respectively. A new local search method was further designed to gain a better performance. A solution consists of the optimum number of sub-bathes for each operation per job, the optimum batch size for each sub-batch and the optimum sequence of sub-batches. Computational experiments of four test instances and a realistic problem in a speaker workshop were performed to testify the effectiveness of the proposed scheduling method. 4A method for estimating the contribution of evaporative vapor from Nam Co to local atmospheric vapor based on stable isotopes of water bodies显示文摘During the summer monsoon season,the moisture of precipitation events in southern and central regions of the Tibetan Plateau is mainly moisture from the Indian Ocean transported by the Indian monsoon and terrestrial vapor derived from the surface of the Tibetan Plateau.However,the respective contributions of these two types of moisture are not clear.From June to September,the excess deuterium values of precipitation and river water in the Nam Co basin are higher than those for the southern Tibetan Plateau.This reflects the mixing of evaporation from Nam Co and local atmospheric vapor.On the basis of theory for estimating the contribution of evaporative vapor from surface water bodies to atmospheric vapor and relative stable isotopes in water bodies (precipitation,river water,atmospheric moisture and lake water),this study preliminarily estimates that the average contribution of evaporation from the Lake Nam Co to local atmospheric vapor has varied from 28.4% to 31.1% during the summer monsoon season in recent years.XU YanWei KANG ShiChang ZHANG YuLan ZHANG YongJun 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,14:7

6Jurassic Hornblende Gabbros in Dongga,Eastern Gangdese,Tibet:Partial Melting of Mantle Wedge and Implications for Crustal Growth显示文摘The Gangdese batholith, more than 2500 km in length, is composed mainly of JurassicMiocene igneous rocks. This batholith is one of the most important constituents of the Tibetan orogenesis and provides an ideal place for study of Neo-Tethyan ocean geodynamic evolution and plateau uplift. Recent studies on the Gangdese Jurassic felsic magmatism highlight its juvenile source. However, important aspects concerning the genesis of the juvenile magmatism and related deep geodynamic evolution are still unclear. Here, we report detailed petrological, geochronological, geochemical, whole-rock Sr-Nd isotopic, and in situ Sr-Hf isotopic data for a recently identified hornblende gabbro in the Dongga area, southern Lhasa sub-block. This hornblende gabbro is dominated by hornblende and plagioclase, dated at Early Jurassic(ca. 180–190 Ma), and characterized by a narrow compositional range in SiO_2(49.38wt%–52.27wt%), MgO(4.08wt%–7.00wt%), FeO(10.43wt%–11.77wt%), Na_2O(2.58wt%–3.51wt%), and K_2O(0.48wt%–1.53wt%). It has depleted isotopic signatures, with whole-rock(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i ratios of 0.7033–0.7043, ε_(Nd)(t) values of +4.90 to +6.99, in situ plagioclase(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i ratios of 0.7034–0.7042, and zircon ε_(Hf)(t) of +12.2 to +16.8. Our results integrated with published data suggest a model of Gangdese juvenile crustal growth by a subduction-related water-enriched mantle wedge. The hydrous partial melting of the lithosphere mantle was triggered by the dehydration of a Neo-Tethyan oceanic slab. 7LES investigation of swirl intensity effect on unconfined turbulent swirling premixed flame显示文摘A finite reaction rate model is presented as a closure of large eddy simulation(LES) to numerically study an open premixed methane/air swirling flame. The resultant model is firstly validated by comparing with reported data and then employed to investigate the effect of swirling intensity on flow field, flame characteristics and combustion instability of the swirling flame. Three different swirl numbers are considered. The LES results show that as swirling intensity increases, the vortex entrainment and micro-mixing are enhanced, leading to more lean equivalent ratios at flame front; consequently, higher swirling number causes lower flame temperatures and slower CO oxidization; for all simulated swirl numbers,flame fronts are completely located out of the recirculation zones and anchored at the inner surface of the annular swirling steams; swirl number has a crucial effect on swirling flame extension toward radial and tangential dimensions and then significantly affects streamwise flame length, which is a great influencing factor on combustion instability; vortex-induced disturbance on flame in streamwise plays a critical role in combustion instability.Zhihua Wang Yanwei Xu Yu L Zhijun Zhou Junhu Zhou Kefa Cen 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,33:6
8Multi-scale evaluation of river health in Liao River Basin,China显示文摘Previous studies on river health evaluation mainly focused on characterizations at a river-corridor scale and ignored the complex interactions between the river ecosystem and other components of the river basin.Based on the consideration of the interactions among rivers,associated river basin and habitats,an assessment framework with multi-scale indicators was developed.An index system divided among these three scales to characterize the health of river ecosystems in China’s Liao River Basin was established.Set pair analysis was applied to integrate the multi-scale indicators and determine the health classes.The evaluation results indicated that the rivers in the western and eastern zones of the Liao River were classified as sick,and rivers in the main stream of the Liao and Huntai rivers were classified as unhealthy.An excessive level of disturbances,such as large pollution loads and dense construction of water conservation projects within the river basin,were the main causes of the river health deterioration.Fei XU Yanwei ZHAO Zhifeng YANG Yuan ZHANG 2011Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,2:4
9Methionine deficiency and its hydroxy analogue influence chicken intestinal 3-dimensional organoid development显示文摘Methionine and its hydroxy analogue(MHA)have been shown to benefit mouse intestinal regeneration.The intestinal organoid is a good model that directly reflects the impact of certain nutrients or chemicals on intestinal development.Here,we aimed to establish a chicken intestinal organoid culture method first and then use the model to explore the influence of methionine deficiency and MHA on intestinal organoid development.The results showed that 125-mm cell strainer exhibited the highest efficiency for chicken embryo crypt harvesting.We found that transforming growth factor-b inhibitor(A8301)supplementation promoted enterocyte differentiation at the expense of the proliferation of intestinal stem cells(ISC).The mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 inhibitor(SB202190)promoted intestinal organoid formation and enterocyte differentiation but suppressed the differentiation of enteroendocrine cells,goblet cells and Paneth cells.However,the suppression of enteroendocrine cell and Paneth cell differentiation by SB202190 was alleviated at the presence of A8301.The glycogen synthase kinase 3 inhibitor(CHIR99021),valproic acid(VPA)alone and their combination promoted chicken intestinal organoid formation and enterocyte differentiation at the expense of the expression of Paneth cells and goblet cells.Chicken serum significantly improved organoid formation,especially in the presence of A8301,SB202190,CHIR99021,and VPA,but inhibited the differentiation of Paneth cells and enteroendocrine cells.Chicken serum at a concentration of 0.25%meets the requirement of chicken intestinal organoid development,and the beneficial effect of chicken serum on chicken intestinal organoid culture could not be replaced by fetal bovine serum and insulin-like growth factor-1.Moreover,commercial mouse organoid culture medium supplemented with A8301,SB202190,CHIR99021,VPA,and chicken serum promotes chicken organoid budding.Based on the chicken intestinal organoid model,we found that methionine deficiency mimicked by cycloleucine suppressed organoid formation and organoid size,and this effect was reinforced with increased cycloleucine concentrations.Methionine hydroxy analogue promoted regeneration of ISC but decreased cell differentiation compared with the results obtained with L-methionine.In conclusion,our results provide a potentially excellent guideline for chicken intestinal organoid culture and insights into methionine function in crypt development.Youli Wang Qihang Hou Yuqin Wu Yanwei Xu Yan Liu Jing Chen Lingling Xu Yuming Guo Shuai Gao Jianmin Yuan 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,1:4
10Edema and neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampus and cortex of elderly rats following transient cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies of cerebral ischemia have used young animals, with an ischemictime greater than 5 minutes (safe time limit). Despite an increased understanding of neuronalapoptosis, it remains uncertain whether brief cerebral ischemic events of 5 minutes or less damagebrain tissue in elderly rodents.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of transient cerebral ischemia (5 minutes)/reperfusion injuryon brain cortical and hippocampal edema, aquaporin-4 (AQP-4) expression, and neuronal apoptosisin aged rats, and to compare ischemic sensitivity between cortex and hippocampus.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at theInstitute of Cerebrovascular Disease, Qingdao University Medical School from April 2008 to March2009.MATERIALS: Rabbit anti-AQP-4 polyclonal antibody, TUNEL kit, and SABC immunohistochemistrykit were purchased from Wuhan Boster Bioengineering, China.METHODS: A total of 160 healthy, male, aged 19-21 months, Wistar rats were randomly assignedto 4 groups: sham-surgery, and ischemia 1-, 3-, and 5-minute groups, with 40 rats in each group.The global cerebral ischemia model was established using the Pusinelli four-vessel occlusion, andthe three cerebral ischemia groups were subdivided into reperfusion 12-hour, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 7-daysubgroups, with 8 rats in each subgroup. The sham-surgery group was subjected to exposure of thefirst cervical bilateral alar foramina and bilateral common carotid arteries.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The dry-wet weight assay was used to measure brain water contentand histopathology of the cortex and hippocampus was observed following hematoxylin-eosinstaining. In addition, cortical and hippocampal AQP-4 expression was detected by streptavidin-biotincomplex immunohistochemistry, and neuronal apoptosis was detected by the TUNEL method.RESULTS: There was no significant difference in brain water content or AQP-4 expression in thecortex and hippocampus between ischemia 1- and 3-minute groups and the sham-surgery group orbrain water content or AQP-4 expression in the cortex between ischemia 5-minute group andsham-surgery group (P> 0.05). However, brain water content and AQP-4 expression in thehippocampus after 5 minutes of cerebral ischemia were significantly increased compared with thesham-surgery group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ). Several TUNEL-positive cells were observed in thecortex and hippocampus of the sham-surgery group and ischemia 1-minute group, as well as in thecortex of the ischemia 3-minute group. In addition, the number of apoptotic neurons in thehippocampus of ischemia 3-minute group and in the cortex and hippocampus of ischemia 5-minutegroup was significantly increased (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). Neuronal apoptosis was increased after 12hours of ischemia/reperfusion, and it reached a peak by 2 days (P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Transient cerebral ischemia (5 minutes) resulted in increased hippocampal edema,AQP-4 expression, and neuronal apoptosis. 11Records of the tsunami induced by the 2010 Chilean earthquake from Xiaoqushan seafloor observatory in the East China Sea显示文摘Sea-level variation can be induced by periodic tides, stochastic wind, air pressure, and swell. Larger sea-level variation has the potential to cause coastal disasters. In this paper, real-time continuous data obtained by the Xiaoqushan seafloor observatory in the East China Sea were analyzed employing frequency power spectral and tidal harmonic methods to extract the major components and periodicities of sea-level change. The sea-level anomaly (sla) was calculated by subtracting the tidal components from the observed sea level data. In the study period, the correlation between sla and the local north-south wind speed was high with a correlation coefficient of 0.65 at the 95% confidence level. The local wind-induced sea-level anomaly (sla wind ) was therefore computed through linear fitting. Although sla wind is one of the main components of sla, the residual sea-level anomaly (sla residual ) obtained by subtracting sla wind from sla is not zero, suggesting that there are other factors besides wind. Detailed analysis of the sea-level data at the time of the 8.8-magnitude Chilean earthquake on February 27, 2010 showed a peak sla residual value of 0.48 m at around 15:00 on February 28, which was highly coincident with the tsunami arrival time forecast by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The peak sla residual event is therefore linked with the tsunami induced by the 2010 Chilean earthquake. This is the first time that a tsunami has been detected using real-time continuous data recorded by a seafloor observatory in the sea off China. 12Studies on techniques of non-Rayleigh oceanic reverberation suppression显示文摘The sonar systems which work in shallow water environment suffer greatly from influences of oceanic noises,acoustic propagation seesaw and multipath.With shallow water environment and higher range-bearing resolution of sonar systems,there are not enough independent scatterers within a resolution cell for the central limit theorem to hold.The reverberation envelope probability density function(pdf) diverges from Rayleigh pdf.The non-Rayleigh pdf with heavier tails is complicated,and it is difficult to estimate the function parameters accurately in real time.With CFAR(Constant False Alarm Rate) processing of the reverberation envelope data,which attenuates the heavier tails data values to the estimated background power values,the data reverberation is transformed from non-Rayleigh distribution to approximately Rayleigh distribution.Since it gets rid of the interferences which affect the estimation of background power,the detector can estimate the oceanic background power level more accurately.With the rational estimation of background power level,the CFAR detection capability is better and robust.With processing of high resolution sonar data,it is shown that the proposed algorithm is efficient.XU Yanwei ZHANG Chunhua CAI Huizhi LIU Yuntao WANG Yongfeng 2013Chinese Journal of Acoustics2013,32,1:3
13Optically stimulated luminescence of Dy^3+-doped NaCaPO4 glass-ceramics显示文摘Dy^3+-doped glass-ceramics containing NaCaPO4 crystals were successfully fabricated by heat treatment at base glass,and the luminescence properties were investigated for potential applications in radiation measurements.The photo luminescence(PL)excitation and emission spectra exhibit transitions related to Dy^3+ions corresponding to the strongest excitation and emission wavelengths at 351 and 575 nm,respectively.The CW-OSL properties as a function of dopant concentration,pre-heating temperature,pre-heating time and signal fading were investigated.The most appropriate Dy^3+ion concentration was found to be 0.25 mol%.The TL glow curves have a broad peak feature peaking at 195±5℃.The fading of the OSL signal would keep stable in five days with the intensity value of about 76.11%.The samples also exhibit good signal reusability and a broad linear dose response range(0.02-1000 Gy).Jie Xu Zhaoyang Chen Minqiang Gai Yanwei Fan Chengfa He 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,9:3

15Comparative population genomics dissects the genetic basis of seven domestication traits in jujube显示文摘Jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.)is an important perennial fruit tree with a range of interesting horticultural traits.It was domesticated from wild jujube(Ziziphus acidojujuba),but the genomic variation dynamics and genetic changes underlying its horticultural traits during domestication are poorly understood.Here,we report a comprehensive genome variation map based on the resequencing of 350 accessions,including wild,semi-wild and cultivated jujube plants,at a>15×depth.Using the combination of a genome-wide association study(GWAS)and selective sweep analysis,we identified several candidate genes potentially involved in regulating seven domestication traits in jujube.For fruit shape and kernel shape,we integrated the GWAS approach with transcriptome profiling data,expression analysis and the transgenic validation of a candidate gene to identify a causal gene,ZjFS3,which encodes an ethyleneresponsive transcription factor.Similarly,we identified a candidate gene for bearing-shoot length and the number of leaves per bearing shoot and two candidate genes for the seed-setting rate using GWAS.In the selective sweep analysis,we also discovered several putative genes for the presence of prickles on bearing shoots and the postharvest shelf life of fleshy fruits.This study outlines the genetic basis of jujube domestication and evolution and provides a rich genomic resource for mining other horticulturally important genes in jujube.Mingxin Guo Zhongren Zhang Yanwei Cheng Sunan Li Peiyin Shao Qiang Yu Junjie Wang Gan Xu Xiaotian Zhang Jiajia Liu Linlin Hou Hanxiao Liu Xusheng Zhao 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
16An inspiration to the studies on mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion action derived from 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine显示文摘The editorial board of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine recently convened an academic seminar with a focus on studies regarding the mechanisms mediating acupuncture efficacy and moxibustion action inspired by the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.Specifically,Professor Bailong Xiao introduced the Nobel Prize for research on the mechanically activated Piezo ion channel,evaluating the structure of the Piezo channel and its physiological and pathological functions,and proposed a possible role for the Piezo channel in acupuncture mechanical stimulation.Professor Michael Xi Zhu introduced the discovery of the transient receptor potential(TRP)family,reporting that the therapeutic effects of Chinese medicine and acupuncture may be achieved via the TRP family,and that information regarding associations between the meridian and lymphatic systems may have important research and medical value.In addition,Professor Tianle Xu reviewed the history of ion channel research,particularly the physiological and pharmacological effects of non-classical ion channels(eg,the acid sensing ion channel family)and pointed out that the characterization and neural circuits of acupuncture deqi manipulation are important for elucidating the mechanisms of acupuncture actions.Professor Yongming Li similarly proposed that the 2021 Nobel Prize may open the door to disclosing the histological basis of acupuncture and moxibustion and analyzing the main scientific concerns regarding the clinical translation of acupuncture and moxibustion from basic to translational research.Finally,Professor Yi Guo summarized the study progress of the acupoint microenvironment induced by acupuncture over the course of nearly 30 years and put forward the hypothesis that acupuncture may initiate the physical-chemical coupling network by activating ion channel receptors in acupoints via physical and mechanical stimulation.Therefore,we conclude that a primary achievement of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is in helping interpret how acupuncture and moxibustion adjust homeostasis(ie,by activating mechanical and thermal sensation),which is conducive to validating and promoting the clinical efficacy of acupuncture modalities.Yi Guo Yongming Li Tianle Xu Michael Xi Zhu Zhifang Xu Baomin Dou Yanwei Li Zhihan Chen 2022Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine2022,2,1:2
