| 1 | Factors Associated with Thrombolysis Outcome in Ischemic Stroke Patients with Atrial Fibrillation显示文摘The outcome of early intravenous thrombolysis for ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF)is worse than that without thrombosis. How to increase the efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis for AF-related ischemic stroke remains largely unknown. In this study, we investigated factors that influence the effect of intravenous thrombolysis in these patients. Our results showed that thrombolysis was independently associated with a favorable outcome(P \ 0.001) and did not influence the mortality of AF-related ischemic stroke, although it increased the risk of hemorrhage within 24 h after treatment. Risk factors for a poor outcome at admission were:heart failure(P = 0.045); high systolic pressure(P = 0.039); high blood glucose(P = 0.030); and a high National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) score(P \ 0.001). Moreover, high systolic pressure at admission(P = 0.007), high blood glucose(P = 0.027), and a high NIHSS score(P \ 0.001) were independent risk factors for mortality at 3 months. Besides thrombolysis, a high NIHSS score(P = 0.006) and warfarin taken within 48 h before stroke onset(P = 0.032) were also independent risk factors for symptomatic hemorrhage within 24 h after treatment. | 3 | Fluoxetine for poststroke depression A randomized placebo controlled clinical trial显示文摘BACKGROUND: Studies have demonstrated that poststroke depression(PSD) may be related with the disequilibrium between noradrenaline and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) caused by cerebral injury. The injured regions involve noradrenergic and 5-hydroxytryptaminergic neurons as well as conduction pathway. The levels of noradrenaline and 5-HT would be decreased. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of fluoxetine on preventing against PSD and recovery of neurologic function, and analyze the relationship of fluoxetine and the 5-HT level. DESIGN: A randomized controlled clinical trial. SETTING: Department of Neurology, First Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University. PARTICIPANTS: Ninety consecutive patients, 47 female and 43 male, were recruited who admitted to hospital for recent stroke in the Department of Neurology, First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University between September 2003 and February 2005. Subjects were aged (64±7 ) years, ranging from 47 to 79 years old. They all met the diagnosis criteria of various cerebrovascular diseases formulated in the 4th National Cerebrovascular Disease Conference and confirmed as stroke by skull CT or MRI; The time from onset to tentative administration was less than 7 days; The patients had clear consciousness, without obvious language disorder. They were randomized into treatment group (n =48) and placebo group (n =42). METHODS: ①All the patients were given routine treatment according to treatment guideline of cerebrovascular disease after admission. Patients in the treatment group and placebo group received 20 mg/d fluoxetine and placebo (component: vitamin C) for 8 weeks, respectively. ② Neurologic deficit was assessed according to 24-item Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD) and Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) before and at 2,4 and 8 weeks after test, separately; Meanwhile, the levels of platelet 5-HT and plasma 5-HT were determined. Grading criteria of HAMD intergral depression: non-depression < 8 points; mild depression 8–20 points; moderate depression 21–35 points; severe depression > 35 points. ADL was assessed with Barthel index score (full mark 100 points). Higher points indicated better incidence and smaller dependence. Neurologic deficit score was made according to scoring criteria of neurologic deficit formulated in 1995 4th National Cerebrovascular Disease Conference: a score of 0–15 indicated a mild focal neurologic deficit, a score of 16–30 a moderate focal neurologic deficit, and a score of 31–45 a severe focal deficit. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Scores of HAMD, ADL and neurologic deficit, and levels of plasma and platelet 5-HT of patients from 2 groups before, 2,4 and 8 weeks after test. RESULRS: Seventy-three of 90 randomized patients participated in the final analysis. In the treatment group, 11 patients dropped out due to insufficient clinical response (n =4), somatic side effects (n =2), intervening medical illness (n =1), hypomania (n =3), and other reasons (n =2). In the placebo group, 6 patients existed due to insufficient clinical response (n =2), somatic side effects (n =1) and other reasons (n =3). ① Before treatment, there were no significant differences in scores of HAMD, DAL and neurologic deficit in patients between two groups (P > 0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, the scores of HAMD, DAL and neurologic deficit in the treatment group were significantly different from those in the placebo group (12.6±5.3 vs. 16.3 ±3.7; 8.6±6.4 vs. 11.2±6.4; 60.4±12.5 vs. 52.3±13.5, P < 0.01). ② After 8 weeks of treatment, platelet 5-HT level of patients in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the placebo group [(325.3± 110.5) mg/L vs. (653.6±138.4) mg/L, P < 0.05], while there were no significant differences in plasma 5-HT between two groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Early fluoxetine treatment obviously retards PSD. | 6 | NOVEL METHOD FOR ERROR ANALYSIS AND SELF-CALIBRATION OF LASER TRACKING MIRROR MECHANISM显示文摘Laser tracking system(LTS)is an advanced device for large size 3D coordinates measuring with the advantages of broad range, high speed and high accuracy. However, its measuring accuracy is highly dominated by the geometric errors of the tracking mirror mechanism. Proper calibration of LTS is essential prior to the use of it for metrology. A kinematics model that describes not only the motion but also the geometric variations of LTS is developed. Through error analysis of the proposed model, it is claimed that gimbals axis misalignments and tracking mirror center off-set are the key contributors to measuring errors of LTS. A self-calibration method is presented of calibrating LTS with planar constraints. Various calibration strategies utilizing single-plane and multiple-plane constraints are proposed for different situations. For each calibration strategy, issues about the error parameter estimation of LTS are exploded to fred out in which conditions these parameters can be uniquely estimated. Moreover, these conditions reveal the applicability of the planar constraints to LTS self-calibration. Intensive studies have been made to check validity of the theoretical results. | 8 | Electrospun PVA Nanofibrous Membranes Reinforced with Silver Nanoparticles Impregnated Cellulosic Fibers:Morphology and Antibacterial Property显示文摘To enhance the mechanical and antibacterial properties of silver nanoparticle impregnated cellulosic fibers,carboxy-cellulose nanocrystals(CCNs)were grafted with chitooligosaccharide(COS),which was used as a stabilizer for silver nanoparticles(AgNPs).Nanofibrous membranes reinforced with silver nanoparticle impregnated cellulosic fibers(CCN-COS-AgNP)were prepared via electrospinning using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as a matrix.The effects of CCN-COS-AgNP contents on the morphology,surface composition,mechanical properties,and antibacterial performances of the prepared CCN-COS-AgNP/PVA membranes were examined.The addition of CCN-COS-AgNP certainly improved the mechanical properties and antibacterial performances of the PVA nanofibers.The tensile strength was significantly increased from 4.40 MPa to 8.60 MPa when 8%CCN-COS-AgNP(mass ratio)was introduced.When 10%(mass ratio)CCN-COS-AgNP was added,the nanofibers showed an excellent antibacterial activity for S.aureus(Staphylococcus aureus)and E.coli(Escherichia coli),with the maximum inhibition zones of 2.30 and 1.60 cm,respectively.Moreover,the 2%(mass ratio)CCN-COS-AgNP/PVA fibrous membrane showed 126%cell viability for mg63 human osteoblasts.The electrospun PVA membrane has great potential application in biomedical field. | YAN Jie WANG Dong BAI Tian CHENG Wanli HAN Guangping NI Xiaohui SHI Q.Sheldon | 2021 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2021,37,3: | 1 |

| 11 | Precisely quantifying bulk transition metal valence evolution in conventional battery electrode by inverse partial fluorescence yield显示文摘Precisely quantifying transition metal(TM) redox in bulk is a key to understand the fundamental of optimizing cathode materials in secondary batteries. At present, the commonly used methods to probe TM redox are hard X-ray absorption spectroscopy(hXAS) and soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy(sXAS).However, they are both facing challenges to precisely quantify the valence states of some transition metals such as Mn. In this paper, Mn-L iPFY(inverse partial fluorescence yield) spectra extracted from Mn-L m RIXS(mapping of resonant inelastic X-ray scattering) is adopted to quantify Mn valence states. Mn-L i PFY spectra has been considered as a bulk-sensitive, non-distorted probe of TM valence states.However, the exact precision of this method is still unclear in quantifying practical battery electrodes.Herein, a series of LiMn_(2)O_(4) electrodes with different charge and discharge states are prepared. Based on their electrochemical capacity(generally considered to be very precise), the precision of Mn iPFY in quantifying bulk Mn valence state is confirmed, and the error range is unraveled. | 13 | In Situ Synthesis of Cuprous Oxide/Cellulose Nanofibers Gel and Antibacterial Properties显示文摘Cellulose nanofibers were synthesized by acetobacter xylinum(xylinum 1.1812).The cellulose nanofibers with 30-90 nm width constructed three-dimension network gel,which could be used as a wound dressing since it can provide moist environment to a wound.However,cellulose nanofibers have no antimicrobial activity to prevent wound infection.To achieve antimicrobial activity,the cellulose nanofibers can load cuprous oxide(Cu2O)particles on the surface.The cuprous oxide is a kind of safe antibacterial material.The copper ions can be reduced into cuprous oxides by reducing agents such as glucose,N2H4 and sodium hypophosphite.The cellulose nanofibers network gel was soaked in CuSO4 solution and filled with copper ions.The cuprous oxide nanoparticles were in situ synthesized by glucose and embedded in cellulose nanofibers network.The morphologies and structure of the composite gel were analyzed by FESEM,FTIR,WAXRD and inductively coupled plasma(ICP).The sizes of Cu2O embedded in cellulose nanofibers network are 200-500 nm wide.The peak at 605 cm−1 attributed to Cu(I)-O vibration of Cu2O shits to 611 cm−1 in the Cu2O/cellulose composite.The Cu2O/cellulose nanofibers composite reveals the obvious characteristic XRD pattern of Cu2O and the results of ICP show that the content of Cu2O in the composite is 13.1%.The antibacterial tests prove that the Cu2O/cellulose nanofibers composite has the high antibacterial activities which is higher against S.aureus than against E.coli. | Ying Hu Qinfei Ke Zhe Li Wanli Han Zhiyong Yan | 2018 | Computers, Materials & Continua2018,,9: | 1 |
| 14 | A novel inhibitor of ARfl and ARv7 induces protein degradation to overcome enzalutamide resistance in advanced prostate cancer显示文摘Enzalutamide(ENZ) is a second-generation androgen receptor(AR) antagonist used for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC) and reportedly prolongs survival time within a year of starting therapy. However, CRPC patients can develop ENZ resistance(ENZR), mainly driven by abnormal reactivation of AR signaling, involving increased expression of the full-length AR(ARfl)or dominantly active androgen receptor splice variant 7(ARv7) and ARfl/ARv7 heterodimers. There is currently no efficient treatment for ENZR in CRPC. Herein, a small molecule LLU-206 was rationally designed based on the ENZ structure and exhibited potent inhibition of both ARfl and constitutively active ARv7 to inhibit PCa proliferation and suppress ENZR in CRPC. Mechanically, LLU-206 promoted ARfl/ARv7 protein degradation and decreased ARfl/ARv7 heterodimers through mouse double minute 2-mediated ubiquitination. Finally, LLU-206 exhibited favorable pharmacokinetic properties with poor permeability across the blood-brain barrier, leading to a lower prevalence of adverse effects, including seizure and neurotoxicity, than ENZ-based therapies. | 16 | Variations in traffic-related polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in PM2.5 in Kanazawa, Japan, after the implementation of a new vehicle emission regulation显示文摘A three-year sampling campaign was conducted at a roadside air pollution monitoring station in the urban area of Kanazawa, Japan. Due to a new emission regulation, PAHs levels decreased over the sampling campaign, exhibiting values of 706 ± 413 pg/m^(3) in 2017, 559 ±384 pg/m^(3) in 2018, and 473 ± 234 pg/m^(3) in 2019. In each year, similar seasonal variations in PAHs levels were observed, with higher levels observed in winter and lower levels in summer. Among the PAHs isomer ratios, we observed that the ratio of benzo[b]fluoranthene(BbF) and benzo[k]fluoranthene(BkF), [Bb F]/([BbF] + [BkF]), and the ratio of indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene(IDP) and benzo[ghi]perylene(BgPe), [IDP]/([BgPe] + [IDP]), showed stability over the sampling campaign and were less affected by the new emission regulation, seasonal variations, and regional characteristics. When using the combined ratio ranges of 0.66-0.80([Bb F]/[BbF] + [BkF]) and 0.26-0.49([IDP]/[Bg Pe] + [IDP]), traffic emissions were clearly distinguished from other PAHs emission sources. Principal component analysis(PCA) and positive matrix factorization(PMF) were also performed to further analyse the characteristics of traffic-related PAHs. | 18 | Triboelectric nanogenerators:the beginning of blue dream显示文摘Wave energy is inexhaustible renewable energy.Making full use of the huge ocean wave energy resources is the dream of mankind for hundreds of years.Nowadays,the utilization of water wave energy is mainly absorbed and transformed by electromagnetic generators(EMGs)in the form of mechanical energy.However,waves usually have low frequency and uncertainty,which means low power generation efficiency for EMGs.Fortunately,in this slow current and random direction wave case,the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)has a relatively stable output power,which is suitable for collecting blue energy.This article summarizes the main research results of TENG in harvesting blue energy.Firstly,based on Maxwell’s displacement current,the basic principle of the nanogenerator is expounded.Then,four working modes and three applications of TENG are introduced,especially the application of TENG in blue energy.TENG currently used in blue energy harvesting is divided into four categories and discussed in detail.After TENG harvests water wave energy,it is meaningless if it cannot be used.Therefore,the modular storage of TENG energy is discussed.The output power of a single TENG unit is relatively low,which cannot meet the demand for high power.Thus,the networking strategy of large-scale TENG is further introduced.TENG’s energy comes from water waves,and each TENG’s output has great randomness,which is very unfavorable for the energy storage after large-scale TENG integration.On this basis,this paper discusses the power management methods of TENG.In addition,in order to further prove its economic and environmental advantages,the economic benefits of TENG are also evaluated.Finally,the development potential of TENG in the field of blue energy and some problems that need to be solved urgently are briefly summarized. | Wanli Wang Dongfang Yang Xiaoran Yan Licheng Wang Han Hu Kai Wang | 2023 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,6: | 0 |
| 19 | Risk factors for disease severity in COVID-19 patients: A single-center retrospective study显示文摘Background:The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a huge threat to human health.However,little is known regarding the risk factors associated with COVID-19 severity.We aimed to explore early-stage disease risk factors associated with eventual disease severity.Methods:This study enrolled 486 hospitalized,non-intensive care unit(ICU)-admitted adult patients with COVID-19(age≥18 years)treated at Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital,who were divided into three groups according to disease severity.The demographic,clinical,and laboratory data at admission and clinical outcomes were compared among severity groups,and the risk factors for disease severity were identified by multiple regression analysis.Results:Of 486 patients with COVID-19,405(83.33%)were discharged,33(6.71%)died outside of the ICU,and 48(7.20%)were still being treated in the ICU by the time the study period ended.Significant differences in age,lymphocyte counts,and the levels of procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer(P<0.001 for all)among the three groups.Further analysis showed that older age,decreased lymphocyte counts,and increased procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer levels were significantly associated with disease progression.Conclusion:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)may impair the immune system,the blood coagulation system,and hepatic and cardiac function.Some clinical characteristics and laboratory findings can help identify patients with a high risk of disease severity,which can be significant for appropriate resource allocation during the COVID-19 pandemic. | Jingqing Xu Yanping Cai Min Li Qing Li Yingrui Zhang Ying Jiang Wanli Yan Xuemei Chen Hongxuan Zhang Zhaonan Zeng Fayang Lian Xiuling Shang Rongguo Yu | 2021 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2021,1,2: | 0 |
