6Inactivation Mechanisms of Escherichia Coli in Drinking Water Using Reactive Species Generated from a Surface Discharge显示文摘Bacterial and chemical contaminations of drinking water imperil the health of people.A reactive species injection method is presented for sterilizing drinking water.To produce reactive species,a gas phase surface discharge reactor(SDR)is designed:a spiral stainless steel wire attached on the inside wall of a quartz glass tube is used as the high voltage electrode,and the drinking water is the ground electrode.The performance and mechanisms of the method in inactivating of Escherichia coli(E.coli)are analyzed.Experimental results show that 500 mL E.coli-contaminated drinking water(108CFU/mL)is completely sterilized within 4 min.Based on the scanning electron microscope(SEM)analysis,there were plasma-induced cell structure damages of the E.coli in the sterilized water,and the damage resulted in the leakage of protein,which was proved by chemical analyses.Meanwhile,the heating effect concomitantly generated by discharge plasma does not influence E.coli inactivation,and the contribution of direct ultraviolet(UV)irradiation could be neglected too.The ozone generated by SDR and the hydroxyl radicals(·OH)subsequently generated in drinking water play the decisive roles in E.coli inactivation because these reactive species cause the cell rupture.LI Jie SHANG Kefeng WANG Tiecheng LU Na WANG Tianwei WU Yan 2013高电压技术2013,39,9:1
7A MOF/poly(thioctic acid)composite for enhanced gold extraction from water matrices显示文摘With the fast generation of electronic waste(e-waste)and the increasing depletion of metal resources,“urban mining”that can selectively recover gold from secondary resources has attracted great interest.Construction of materials with high extraction capacity and satisfying selectivity in complex aqueous-based matrices still remains challenging.Here,a novel metal-organic framework/polymer composite(Fe-BTC/poly(thioctic acid),denoted as Fe-BTC/pTA)has been newly synthesized and applied for selective gold recovery in different matrices(river water,seawater,and leaching solution of e-waste).Benefiting from the high specific surface area and suitable pore sizes as well as the rational design of active sites,the composite exhibits high adsorption capacity(920 mg/g),high removal efficiency(>99%),fast kinetics(below 0.1 ppb within 10 min),and good applicability in complex matrices,which are better than those of most reported sulfur-containing adsorbents.Solid-state metallic gold with high purity can be effectively enriched due to the high recyclability and long-term stability of the composite.The material after adsorption can be further applied as a heterogeneous catalyst for water remediation due to the in situ generated gold nanoparticles by the redox reaction between Au(III)ions and the S-containing groups in the composites.Ruiqing Li Sen Yan Tianwei Xue Rongxing Qiu Yin Li Wenli Hao Guangkuo Xu Yanliang Wang Yanzhen Hong Yuzhong Su Hongtao Wang Shuliang Yang Li Peng Jun Li 2024Nano Research2024,17,1:0
8The value of ultrasound elastography in differential diagnosisof superficial lymph nodes显示文摘The study evaluated the value of ultrasound elastography in differentiating the benign and malignant superficial lymph nodes.A total of 112 subjects,including 82 patients with enlarged lymph nodes and 30 healthy volunteers,were recruited.All the subjects were examined by B-mode ultrasonography,power Doppler ultrasonogra-phy and elastography.Most of the patients were histo-pathologically confirmed by needle aspiration cytology and some patients were diagnosed by clinical data combined with follow-upfindings.The sensitivity,speci-ficity and accuracy of B-mode ultrasonography were 59.8%,76.5%and 67.1%,those of the bloodflow classification by power Doppler ultrasonography 77.0%,82.3%and 79.4%and those of elastographic classification 74.7%,97.1%and 84.5%,respectively.The elasticity of the lymph nodes was quantitatively measured and defined as stiffness value.When the stiffness value of 2.395 was taken as the cutoff point,the sensitivity and specificity of elastography were 78.41%and 98.51%,and the Youden index reached the highest,with the value being 0.7692.The stiffness values of two indeterminate benign lymph nodes,the elastrographicfindings of which were rated as patterns 2 and 3,were below the cutoff point.The elastographicfindings of 10 malignant lymph nodes were also classified as pattern 2 or 3.Only one of them had the stiffness values below the cutoff point.It was concluded that ultrasound elastography is a novel,noninvasive and convenient tool for the differentiation of the nature of the superficial lymph nodes in clinical practice.Yanrong ZHANG Qing LV Yehua YIN Mingxing XIE Feixiang XIANG Chengfa LU Tianwei YAN Wei LI Hui XU Yan HUANG 2009Frontiers of Medicine2009,3,3:0
9Numerical prediction of spatio-temporal frosting patterns of curved surface considering varying working parameters显示文摘Accurate numerical prediction of frosting patterns is essential for the efficient layout and timing defrosting of heat exchangers under frosting conditions.In this study,a numerical model is developed to predict the spatio-temporal frosting habits on curved surfaces in combination with the correlations of frost density and thermal conductivity.In the model,frost melting is considered.After verification,the frosting and heat transfer characteristics along the flow path are investigated under various structural and operating conditions.Frost thickness along the path is mainly affected by the cooling surface temperature,while the heat and mass transfer rates are strongly correlated with the humidity ratio.The proportions of latent heat and sensible heat are distributed more unevenly in parallel flow case than in counter flow case.Frost deposition is facilitated by a smaller radius of curvature of the cooling surface.More uniform frosting characteristics along the path and smaller heat transfer obstruction are presented with a smaller length-to-height ratio of the flow path.Xue Liu Xiaojun Dong Shaohang Yan Yu Hou Tianwei Lai 2023Energy Storage and Saving2023,2,1:0
10Flexible Transparent Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage: From Electrode Structures to Integrated Applications显示文摘The rapid progress of flexible electronics tremendously stimulates the urgent demands for the matching power supply systems. Flexible transparent electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices (FT–EECSDs), with endurable mechanical flexibility, outstanding optical transmittance, excellent electrochemical performance, and additional intelligent functions, are considered as preferable energy supplies for future self-powered flexible electronic systems. A comprehensive review of the reasonable design of flexible transparent electrode and recent progress on the FT–EECSDs is presented herein. The manufacturing techniques of generally classified three types of flexible transparent electrodes are systematically summarized. Emphasis is given to the recent developments in the transparent solid-state electrolyte, flexible transparent energy conversion, and storage devices. The standard evaluation methods and reasonable evaluation parameters to evaluate the flexibility and transparency of FT–EECSDs are highlighted. Additionally, the typical integrated applications of FT–EECSDs are also described.
