4The Dihedral Angle and Intersection Processes of a Conjugate Strike-Slip Fault System in the Tarim Basin, NW China显示文摘Recent studies, focused on dihedral angles and intersection processes, have increased understandings of conjugate fault mechanisms. We present new 3-D seismic data and microstructural core analysis in a case study of a large conjugate strike-slip fault system from the intracratonic Tarim Basin, NW China. Within our study area, 'X' type NE and NW trending faults occur within CambrianOrdovician carbonates. The dihedral angles of these conjugate faults have narrow ranges, 19° to 62° in the Cambrian and 26° to 51° in the Ordovician, and their modes are 42° and 44° respectively. These data are significantly different from the ~60° predicted by the Coulomb fracture criterion. It is concluded that:(1) The dihedral angles of the conjugate faults were not controlled by confining pressure, which was low and associated with shallow burial;(2) As dihedral angles were not controlled by pressure they can be used to determine the shortening direction during faulting;(3) Sequential slip may have played an important role in forming conjugate fault intersections;(4) The conjugate fault system of the Tarim basin initiated as rhombic joints; these subsequently developed into sequentially active 'X' type conjugate faults; followed by preferential development of the NW-trending faults; then reactivation of the NE trending faults. 6The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 7Challenges in the provision of community aged care in China显示文摘Objective:Population ageing in China is a significant challenge for the Chinese government,the society and Chinese people.The dramatic process of population ageing together with social and economic diversity in China has created issues in the availability,equality and sustainability of social and financial support for older people.The aims of this review are to identify the social and economic challenges to the traditional caregiving system in China,and to examine possible solutions to improve the care of older people in China using the framework of ageing in place.Methods:Electronic literature searches were conducted in May and June 2013 using PubMed,CNKI,and MEDLINE.Statistical data and reports were retrieved from the United Nations,the World Health Organisation,the World Bank and National Bureau of Statistics of China.Government policy documents were found through government websites and formal publications.Results:Family-centred care for older people in China is recognised as a cultural tradition in the Chinese community.However,driven by large-scale social,political and economic changes,this model of caring for older people has dynamically changed over the last 50 years.Traditionally the family has been the most important source of social support for older people followed by neighbour support and support from friends.Today family obligations of caring are still centred in a cultural and practical context;however,support from family and children has weakened incrementally.Community-based aged services are absent in most areas,while older people and their families have to pay out-of-pocket expenses for non-residential services.There is a severe shortage of aged care or nursing home resources in China and those that exist are of low quality and expensive.The staff who work in these facilities rarely have any formal training in aged care.In addition,a market approach to the funding of residential aged care has the potential to create a moral hazard due to the poor regulatory control of aged care in China.While the building of residential aged care homes is seen as the solution to the care of older people in China,older people prefer to age in their own homes and expect the restoration of the family care tradition as well as more government support for them to“age in place”.This approach has the potential to be more cost effective than expensive aged care facilities.Conclusion:Given older people’s preferences,ageing in place,with the provision of community services and family support,potentially provides a fair and financially viable approach to promote healthy ageing and supportive care in China.Further studies are required to identify 1)how ageing in place can be supported by a national strategy,2)the financial arrangements required to fund such an approach,and 3)how to train high quality community-based professionals in both rural and urban areas to support the care of older people.HUI YANG COLETTE BROWNING SHANE THOMAS 2013Family Medicine and Community Health2013,1,2:10
8Interactions between water-land resources and oasis urban development at the northern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Urban development in arid and semi-arid regions is largely constrained by fragile physical environments.The characteristics of an urban settlement are different from those in other regions of China.This paper analyses the coupling characteristics and spatio-temporal variations for oasis urban development and water-land resources at the northern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains by principal component analysis and a coupling degree model.The result shows that the degree and change in regional use of water and land resources are different among the studied cities/counties during their development.The built-up areas of these cities/counties have changed little with increasing populations and urbanization levels,which well reflects that the urban development in arid and semi-arid regions is limited by oasis areas.Per capita amount of water supplied,however,presented a trend of slowed growth with increasing levels of urbanization.Water consumption gradually increased with urban development and the improvement of people's living standards,accompanied by enhanced water use efficiency. 9Impact of tree diversity and environmental conditions on the survival of shrub species in a forest biodiversity experiment in subtropical China显示文摘Aims Although shrubs are an important component of forests,their role has not yet been considered in forest biodiversity experiments.In the biodiversity-ecosystem functioning(BEF)experiment with subtropical tree species in south-east China(BEF-China),we factorially combined tree with shrub species-diversity treatments.Here,we tested the hypotheses that shrub survival differs between the 10 planted shrub species,with lower survival rates of late-than early-successional species and is affected by environmental conditions,such as topography and top soil characteristics,as well as by biotic factors,represented by tree,shrub and herb layer characteristics.Methods We analyzed the survival of 42000 shrub individuals in 105 plots varying in tree and shrub species richness of the BEF-China project four years after planting.Shrub survival was analyzed with generalized linear mixed effects models at the level of individuals and with variance partitioning at the plot level.Random intercept and random slope models of different explanatory variables were compared with respect to the Bayesian Information Criterion(BIC).Important Findings Survival rates differed largely between the 10 shrub species,ranging from 26%to 91%for Ardisia crenata and Distylium buxifolium,respectively.Irrespective of species identity,single abiotic factors explained up to 5%of species survival,with a negative effect of altitude and slope inclination and a positive effect of the topsoil carbon to nitrogen ratio,which pointed to drought as the major cause of shrub mortality.In contrast,neither tree nor shrub richness affected shrub survival at this early stage of the experiment.Among the biotic predictors,only herb layer species richness and cover of the dominant fern species(Dicranopteris pedata)affected shrub survival.Overall,our models that included all variables could explain about 65%in shrub survival,with environmental variables being most influential,followed by shrub species identity,while tree species diversity(species richness and identity)and herb layer characteristics contributed much less.Thus,in this early stage of the experiment the biotic interactions among shrubs and between shrubs and trees have not yet overruled the impact of abiotic environmental factors.Bo Yang Ying Li Bingyang Ding Sabine Both Alexandra Erfmeier Werner Härdtle Keping Ma Bernhard Schmid Thomas Scholten Gunnar Seidler Goddert von Oheimb Xuefei Yang Helge Bruelheide 2017Journal of Plant Ecology2017,10,1:7
10Albedo of Coastal Landfast Sea Ice in Prydz Bay,Antarctica:Observations and Parameterization显示文摘The snow/sea-ice albedo was measured over coastal landfast sea ice in Prydz Bay, East Antarctica(off Zhongshan Station)during the austral spring and summer of 2010 and 2011. The variation of the observed albedo was a combination of a gradual seasonal transition from spring to summer and abrupt changes resulting from synoptic events, including snowfall, blowing snow, and overcast skies. The measured albedo ranged from 0.94 over thick fresh snow to 0.36 over melting sea ice. It was found that snow thickness was the most important factor influencing the albedo variation, while synoptic events and overcast skies could increase the albedo by about 0.18 and 0.06, respectively. The in-situ measured albedo and related physical parameters(e.g., snow thickness, ice thickness, surface temperature, and air temperature) were then used to evaluate four different snow/ice albedo parameterizations used in a variety of climate models. The parameterized albedos showed substantial discrepancies compared to the observed albedo, particularly during the summer melt period, even though more complex parameterizations yielded more realistic variations than simple ones. A modified parameterization was developed,which further considered synoptic events, cloud cover, and the local landfast sea-ice surface characteristics. 12Chevrier's Field Mouse(Apodemus chevrieri) and Père David's Vole(Eothenomys melanogaster) in China Carry Orthohepeviruses that form Two Putative Novel Genotypes Within the Species Orthohepevirus C显示文摘Hepatitis E virus(HEV)is the prototype of the family Hepeviridae and the causative agent of common acute viral hepatitis.Genetically diverse HEV-related viruses have been detected in a variety of mammals and some of them may have zoonotic potential.In this study,we tested 278 specimens collected from seven wild small mammal species in Yunnan province,China,for the presence and prevalence of orthohepevirus by broad-spectrum reverse transcription(RT)-PCR.HEV-related sequences were detected in two rodent species,including Chevrier’s field mouse(Apodemus chevrieri,family Muridae)and Père David’s vole(Eothenomys melanogaster,family Cricetidae),with the infection rates of 29.20%(59/202)and 7.27%(4/55),respectively.Further four representative full-length genomes were generated:two each from Chevrier’s field mouse(named Rd HEVAc14 and Rd HEVAc86)and Père David’s vole(Rd HEVEm40 and Rd HEVEm67).Phylogenetic analyses and pairwise distance comparisons of whole genome sequences and amino acid sequences of the gene coding regions showed that orthohepeviruses identified in Chinese Chevrier’s field mouse and Père David’s vole belonged to the species Orthohepevirus C but were highly divergent from the two assigned genotypes:HEV-C1 derived from rat and shrew,and HEV-C2 derived from ferret and possibly mink.Quantitative real-time RT-PCR demonstrated that these newly discovered orthohepeviruses had hepatic tropism.In summary,our work discovered two putative novel genotypes orthohepeviruses preliminarily named HEVC3 and HEV-C4 within the species Orthohepevirus C,which expands our understanding of orthohepevirus infection in the order Rodentia and gives new insights into the origin,evolution,and host range of orthohepevirus.Bo Wang Wen Li Ji-Hua Zhou Bei Li Wei Zhang Wei-Hong Yang Hong Pan Li-Xia Wang Thomas Bock Zheng-Li Shi Yun-Zhi Zhang Xing-Lou Yang 2018Virologica Sinica2018,33,1:6
13Sonohysterography: Principles, technique and role in diagnosis of endometrial pathology显示文摘Sonohysterography (SHG), which provides enhanced endometrial visualization during standard transvaginal ultrasonography, is a relatively safe procedure for the evaluation of endometrial pathology. It can be used to evaluate patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding or infertility. This modality offers real time imaging of the endometrium without exposure to ionizing radiation. SHG is typically used in patients for whom standard transvaginal ultrasonography does not show the endometrium well, show a potential abnormality for which further imaging is required, or in patients without endometrial pathology defined on routine transvaginal imaging but in whom there is a strong clinical suspicion of an abnormality. This article will discuss the utility of the sonohysterogram in evaluation of various endometrial pathologies. 14Dual roles of p62/SQSTM1 in the injury and recovery phases of acetaminophen-induced liver injury in mice显示文摘Acetaminophen(APAP)overdose can induce liver injury and is the most frequent cause of acute liver failure in the United States.We investigated the role of p62/SQSTM1(referred to as p62)in APAP-induced liver injury(AILI)in mice.We found that the hepatic protein levels of p62 dramatically increased at 24 h after APAP treatment,which was inversely correlated with the hepatic levels of APAPadducts.APAP also activated mTOR at 24 h,which is associated with increased cell proliferation.In contrast,p62 knockout(KO)mice showed increased hepatic levels of APAP-adducts detected by a specific antibody using Western blot analysis but decreased mTOR activation and cell proliferation with aggravated liver injury at 24 h after APAP treatment.Surprisingly,p62 KO mice recovered from AILI whereas the wild-type mice still sustained liver injury at 48 h.We found increased number of infiltrated macrophages in p62 KO mice that were accompanied with decreased hepatic von Willebrand factor(VWF)and platelet aggregation,which are associated with increased cell proliferation and improved liver injury at 48 h after APAP treatment.Our data indicate that p62 inhibits the late injury phase of AILI by increasing autophagic selective removal of APAP-adducts and mitochondria but impairs the recovery phase of AILI likely by enhancing hepatic blood coagulation.Hui Qian Qingyun Bai Xiao Yang Jephte Y.Akakpo Lili Ji Li Yang Thomas Rulicke Kurt Zatloukal Hartmut Jaeschke Hong-Min Ni Wen-Xing Ding 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:4

20The progress and prospect of assessment measures of uterine cavity function for infertility patients显示文摘Objective:To explore the progress and prospect of evaluation methods for infertility patients.Methods:From September 2017 to December 2020,199 cases of infertility patients who have accepted mini-hysteroscopy examination in the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology,Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital,Capital Medical University.The patients who had primary ovary insufficiency,tubal infertility were excluded;patients with hysteroscopy contradiction,such as acute or sub-acute vaginal tract inflammation,endometrium lesion or endometrium carcinoma,severe cardiovascular,liver or kidney insufficiency were excluded.40 patients were excluded and 15 patients lost follow up,144 patients were eventually included in the analysis.The patient’s age,body mass index,infertility etiology,preoperative and postoperative stimulate ovulation cycle,pregnancy state and pregnancy time were recorded.The effect of mini-hysteroscopy on ovulation induction cycle was analyzed in pregnant patients.Results:The average age of 144 patients was 32.10±4.67 years old.96(66.67%)patients were found to have intrauterine abnormalities,while 48(33.33%)patients were found to have normal intrauterine cavity.48 cases of pregnancy,accounting for 33.33%;the median and interquartile ranges[M(Q1,Q3)]of ovulation induction cycles before and after surgery were respectively[3(0,5)],[2(1,3)],the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Among the 48 pregnant patients,32 of them had no structural lesions in hysteroscopy,the ovulation induction cycle of these patients before and after hysteroscopy were respectively[5(0,9)],[1(0,3)],the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Uterine cavity evaluation is important for the assessments of fertility.As an advanced diagnosis instrument,mini-hysteroscopy can not only timely detect the intrauterine abnormalities of patients,hut also with great application value in shorten the ovulation cycle in infertility patients and increase the pregnancy rate.Luping Zhang Rui Ju Xiangyan Ruan Yinmei Dai Husheng Wang Fengyu Jin Jing Jin Muqing Gu Jiaojiao Cheng Yu Yang Xin Xu Thomas Roemer 2021Global Health Journal2021,5,2:3
