2Prevalence of HIV Indeterminate Western Blot Tests and Follow-up of HIV Antibody Sero-Conversion in Southeastern China显示文摘HIV-indeterminate Western blotting(WB)results are typically obtained in WB confirmatory assays,and the number of indeterminate samples may increase with the detection of HIV infections,which will present considerable challenges for the management of HIV/AIDS.Nucleic acid detection has been used as a laboratory test for screening suspected or indeterminate samples.However,the effectiveness of these assays for the differential diagnosis of HIV-indeterminate WB samples remained undetermined.In this study,210 subjects with HIV-indeterminate WB results were detected from 6360 positive HIV screening samples between 2015 and 2016 in southeastern China,in which HIV-indeterminate WB results accounted for 3.30%.The highest proportion of indeterminate results was observed in pregnant and lying-in women receiving physical examinations(16.67%),followed by that in voluntary blood donors(8.82%).The most common WB band patterns were p24,gpl60 and p24,and gpl60.The follow-up study revealed that the highest negative and positive conversion rates of HIV antibodies were in samples with a single p24 band(80.28%),and with gpl60 and p24 bands(86.21%),respectively.Among the Env,Gag,and Pol antibodies,samples with a Gag band showed the highest negative conversion rate(81.25%),whereas the highest positive conversion rate was observed in samples with an Env band(56.76%).In addition,quantitative and qualitative HIV nucleic acid testing exhibited the highest sensitivity(96.3%)and specificity(97.85%),respectively.Our results indicate a lower proportion of HIV indeterminate WB results in southeastern China compared to previous reports,and the follow-up re-examination of patients with HIV indeterminate results should be performed.Nucleic acid testing facilitates the identification of HIV infections.Shouli Wu Min Gao Jian Zheng Pingping Yan Wei Wang Xiaoli Lu Yuefeng Qiu Yansheng Yan 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,4:15

5Study on the Recovery of Rhodium from Spent Organic Rhodium Catalysts of Acetic Acid Industry Using Pyrometallurgical Process显示文摘A new process recycling rhodium from organic waste containing rhodium in acetic acid industry is developed. Use the special affinity of base metal sulfides (FeS, Ni2S3 , CuS, etc.) on platinum group metals, adopting high nickel matte trapping-aluminothermic activation method to recovery rhodium from incinerator residue of organic rhodium waste. The method is shorter process, lower equipment requirement, and the higher activity of rhodium black. 6Synthesis of hexaaluminate catalysts for methane combustion by reverse microemulsion medium显示文摘The aim of this study is to synthesize the catalysts of Fe-and Mn-substituted hexaaluminate by reverse microemulsion medium for methane catalytic combustion application.Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams in quaternary microemulsion systems of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB),n-butanol,n-octane,and water [or Al(NO3)3 solution] were presented.The effects of the alcohol chain length,ratio of sur-factant to cosurfactant,and salt concentration on the formation and stability of microemulsion systems were studied.The phase behavior of microemulsion systems was confirmed through the varying of the conductivity with the water content.The performance and structure of the catalysts,La(Mnx/Fex)Al12-x-O19-δ synthesized with the optimal parameter in the phase diagrams of microemulsions systems were characterized by BET,TG-DTA,and XRD.The micro fix-bed reactor was used to measure the catalytic activities of catalysts to methane combustion.The results showed that this synthesis method could yield non-agglomerated and highly dispersed precursors that would undergo crystallization at the lower temperature of 950℃.When temperature was raised up to 1050℃,the complete crystalline La-hexaaluminate was shaped.The hexaaluminate substituted with Fe had high-catalytic activity and stability at high temperature,while the Mn-substituted had higher catalytic activity at lower temperature.When the cooperation of Fe and Mn occurred,i.e.,LaFeMnAl10O19-δ exhibited a high surface area and catalytic activity to CH4 combustion,the CH4 light-off temperature was only 475℃ and the complete combustion temperature was 660℃.This was attributed to the synergistic effect between Fe and Mn.BAI ShouLi WANG LiangShi SHI BingJie YANG PengCheng CUI MeiSheng LONG ZhiQi LI DianQing CHEN AiFan 2009Science China Chemistry2009,52,1:6

8Three-stage Method for Identifying the Dynamic Model Parameters of Stranded Wire Helical Springs显示文摘The dynamic behavior of the stranded wire helical spring is described by a modified Bouc-Wen model while the model parameters must be identified using an identification method and experimental data. Existing identification methods usually relies either solely nonlinear iterative algorithms or manually trial and error. Therefore, the identification process can be rather time consuming and effort taking. As a result, these methods are not ideal for engineering applications. To come up with a more practical method, a three-stage identification method is proposed. Periodic loading and identification simulations are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Noises are added to the simulated data to test the performance of the proposed method when dealing with noise contaminated data. The simulation results indicate that the proposed method is able to give satisfying results when the noise levels are set to be 0.01, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07. In addition, the proposed method is also applied to experimental data and compared with an existing method. The experimental data is acquired through a periodic loading test. The experiment results suggest that the proposed method features better accuracy compared with the existing method. 10Calorie restriction and its impact on gut microbial composition and global metabolism显示文摘Calorie restriction (CR)is a dietary regimen that reduces calorie intake without incurring malnutrition or a reduction in essential nutrients.It has long been recognized as a natural strategy for promoting health, extending longevity,and prevents the development of metabolic and age-related diseases.In the present review,we focus on the general effect of CR on gut microbiota composition and global metabolism.We also propose mechanisms for its beneficial effect.Results showed that probiotic and butyrate-producing microbes increased their relative abundance,whereas proinflammatory strains exhibited suppressed relative abundance following CR.Analyses of the gut microbial and host metabolisms revealed that most host microbial co-metabolites were changed due to CR.Examples of dramatic CR-induced changes in host metabolism included a decrease in the rate of lipid biosynthesis and an increase in the rates of fatty acid catabolism,p-oxidation,glycogenolysis,and gluconeogenesis.The observed phenotypes and the further verification of the direct link between gut microbiota and metabolome may benefit patients that are at risk for developing metabolic disease.Thus,improved gut microbiota composition and metabolome are potential biomarkers for determining the effectiveness of dietary interventions for age-related and metabolic diseases.Xiaojiao Zheng Shouli Wang Wei Jia 2018Frontiers of Medicine2018,12,6:3
11Antisense Oligonucleotide Targeting TGF-β1 Abrogates Tumorigenicity of Rhabdomyosarcoma in vivo显示文摘OBJECTIVE Over-expression of transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1)has been observed in many advanced cancers. The present study was aimed at developing potential antisense oligonucleotides(ASONs)to repress TGF-β1 expression in rhabdomyosarcoma(RMS)RD cells,and to examine their effect on tumorigenicity of RD cells in vivo. METHODS ASONs targeting the region surrounding the start codon of TGF-β1 were synthesized and transferred into cells in the form of complexes with Lipofectamine 2000.The TGF-β1 protein was determined by immunofluorescence and ELISA. The cell viability and cell cycle were examined by MTT and flow cytometry.The RD cells,with or without TGF-β1ASON,in 50μ1 of serum-free EMDM medium were injected subcutaneously into the right flank of nude mice.The tumors were then measured and weighed. RESULTS The ASON sequence targeting the first start site at bases 841-855 of the human TGF-β1 gene had the greatest effect on attenuating the expression of TGF-β1(P<0.05).The ASONs induced a decrease in OD values after 6 d(P<0.05).Analvsis of the cell cycle revealed that the ASON induced a significant decrease in cells in the S phase and an increase in cells in the G1 phase(P<0.05).In the nude mice model,the mean tumor volume,after 2 weeks of treatment with Lipofectamine or ASON, decreased to 88.5% or 55% respectively,compared to the control tumor size,resulting in a significant difference(P<0.01). 17Comparison of interventional and conservative treatment on in-hospital outcomes in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction显示文摘Objectives To compare the in-hospital outcomes of elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI)treated by interventional or conservative protocols. Patients and Methods One handred and seventy-six consecutive patients hospitalized for AMI were involved, including 95 patients underwent emergent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) within 24 h after the onset of AMI and 81 patients received conservative non-invasive therapies.Clinical characteristics and in-hospital cardiac events of these two divisions were analyzed. Results In the PCI group, success rate of procedure and lesions was 98.9% and 98.5%, respectively. Procedure related complication were occurred in 6 cases(6.3%) and no patient died during operative procedures. PCI group had a lower in-hospital mortality (11.6% vs 24.7%, P<0.05) and overall cardiac events rate (2A.2%vs56.8%, P<0.01) compared with conservative group. Patients complicated by pump failure at admission in PCI group had a lower mortality compared with their counterpart in conservative group(27.3% vs 60.9%, P<0.05). The average hospital duration between the two groups was no significant differences. The coronary care unit (CCU) duration of the PCI group was less than that of conservative group (4±5d vs 8±5d, P<0.05). 18Safety and feasibility of transradial coronary intervention in Chinese elderly patients显示文摘Objective To assess the feasibility and safety of transradial approach in Chinese elderly patients undergoing coronary intervention. Methods In this prospective study, 764 elderly patients with coronary artery disease received percutaneous coronary intervention via either a transradial approach (TRA group) or a transfemoral approach (TFA group). The procedural success rate, success rate of artery access, puncture time, fluoroscopy time, dose of contrast, local complications and post-procedural pulmonary embolism were recorded and compared between 2 groups. Results There was no significant difference of the procedural success rate between the TRA group and the TRF group (96.3% vs. 98.2%, P>0.05); there were also no differences of success rate of cannulation, mean fluoroscopy time and mean dose of contrast between the 2 groups. The mean puncture time was longer in the TRA group than in the TFA group (3.8±2.1 min vs. 2.0±3.4 min, P<0.05). However, there were fewer access site-related complications in the TRA group than in the TFA group. Post- procedural pulmonary embolism occurred in 2 patients in the TFA group but none in the TRA group. 19Inhibition of Differentiation by Transforming Growth Factor β1 in Rhabdomyosarcoma Cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the effect of transforming growth factor?1 (TGF-β1)on differentiation of rhabdomyosarcoma(RMS)cells METHODS RD(human embryonal RMS cell line)cells,cultured in differentiation medium containing 9-cis retinoic acid(9CRA),were treated with TGF-β1.Proliferation of the cells was examined by the MTT assay.The differentiation specific proteins(sarcomeric actin and MyHC)and myogenic transcription factors(MyoD1 and myogenin)in the RD cel s were assessed by immunofluorescence staining. RESULTS Compared to control cel s,treatment with lower concentrations of TGF-?1(0.1 and 0.2 ng/ml)induced an increase in OD values after 4 d(P<0.01),whereas higher concentrations of TGF-?1(2 and 5 ng/ml)led to a reduction of cell viability(P<0.01).After exposure to 9CRA,the viability of the cells decreased significantly(P<0.01),while sarcomeric actin,MyHC and myogenin were induced.These changes were antagonized by TGF-β1(0.1 ng/ml).No changes were observed in expression of MyoD1.
