| 2 | Toxicity of cadmium and its competition with mineral nutrients for uptake by plants:A review显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)is a toxic heavy metal occurring in the environment naturally and is also generated through various anthropogenic sources and acts as a pollutant.Human health is affected by Cd pollution in farmland soils because food is the main source of Cd intake in the non-smoking population.For crops,Cd toxicity may result from a disturbance in uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients and disturbance in plant metabolism,inhibiting plant growth and development.However,plants have Cd tolerance mechanisms,including restricted Cd uptake,decreased Cd root-to-shoot translocation,enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities,and increased production of phytochelatins.Furthermore,optimal supply of mineral nutrients is one of the strategies to alleviate the damaging effects of Cd on plants and to avoid its entry into the food chain.The emerging molecular knowledge contributes to understanding Cd uptake,translocation,and remobilization in plants.In this review,Cd toxicity and tolerance mechanisms,agricultural practices to minimize Cd accumulation,Cd competition with essential elements(calcium,copper,iron,zinc,and manganese),and genes associated with Cd uptake are discussed in detail,especially regarding how these mineral nutrients and genes play a role in decreasing Cd uptake and accumulation in crop plants. | Shiyu QIN Hongen LIU Zhaojun NIE Zed RENGEL Wei GAO Chang LI Peng ZHAO | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,2: | 20 |
| 3 | Micro-droplet Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction and Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction Technologies Provide Highly Sensitive and Accurate Detection of Zika Virus显示文摘The establishment of highly sensitive diagnostic methods is critical in the early diagnosis and control of Zika virus(ZIKV)and in preventing serious neurological complications of ZIKV infection. In this study, we established micro-droplet digital polymerase chain reaction(ddPCR) and real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR) protocols for the detection of ZIKV based on the amplification of the NS5 gene. For the ZIKV standard plasmid, the RT-qPCR results showed that the cycle threshold(Ct) value was linear from 10~1 to 10~8 copy/l L, with a standard curve R^2 of 0.999 and amplification efficiency of 92.203%;however, a concentration as low as 1 copy/l L could not be detected. In comparison with RT-qPCR, the dd PCR method resulted in a linear range of 10~1–10~4 copy/l L and was able to detect concentrations as low as 1 copy/l L. Thus, for detecting ZIKV from clinical samples, RT-qPCR is a better choice for high-concentration samples(above 10~1 copy/l L),while ddPCR has excellent accuracy and sensitivity for low-concentration samples. | 5 | Prognostic value of BCL2 and TP53 genetic alterations for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients treated with R-CHOP显示文摘Objective:Limited data about the prognostic significance of BCL2 mutations and BCL2 copy number variations in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)are available.This study aimed to comprehensively describe BCL2 genetic alterations in DLBCL patients,and examine correlation of BCL2,TP53 and other genetic alterations with outcomes in patients treated with R-CHOP.Methods:Probe capture-based high-resolution sequencing was performed on 191 patients diagnosed with de novo DLBCL.MYC,BCL2,and BCL6 protein expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry.Results:The presence of BCL2 alterations significantly correlated with poor progression-free survival(PFS)(5-year PFS:13.7%vs.40.8%;P=0.003)and overall survival(OS)(5-year OS:34.0%vs.70.9%;P=0.036).Importantly,patients who harbored BCL2 gain/amplifications(BCL2GA/AMP)also had a remarkably inferior 5-year PFS(11.1%vs.38.3%;P<0.001)and OS(22.1%vs.69.6%;P=0.009).In contrast,neither BCL2 mutations nor BCL2 translocations were significantly prognostic for survival.Multivariable analyses showed that the presence of BCL2 alterations,especially BCL2GA/AMP,TP53 mutations,and International Prognostic Index(IPI)were significantly associated with inferior PFS and OS.Novel prognostic models for OS were constructed based on 3 risk factors,including BCL2 alterations(Model 1)or BCL2GA/AMP(Model 2),TP53 mutations,and IPI,to stratify patients into 4 risk groups with different survival outcomes.Conclusions:This study showed that DLBCL patients treated with R-CHOP,BCL2 alterations,especially BCL2GA/AMP and TP53 mutations were significantly associated with inferior outcomes,which were independent of the IPI.The novel prognostic models we proposed predicted outcomes for DLBCL patients treated with R-CHOP,but further validation of the prognostic models is still warranted. | Yan Qin Haizhu Chen Peng Liu Changgong Zhang Jianliang Yang Lin Gui Xiaohui He Liqiang Zhou Shengyu Zhou Shiyu Jiang Hongxin Jiang Yuankai Shi | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,6: | 2 |

| 10 | Tumor-microenvironment activated duplex genome-editing nanoprodrug for sensitized near-infrared titania phototherapy显示文摘Near-infrared(NIR)-light-triggered nanomedicine, including photodynamic therapy(PDT)and photothermal therapy(PTT), is growing an attractive approach for cancer therapy due to its high spatiotemporal controllability and minimal invasion, but the tumor eradication is limited by the intrinsic anti-stress response of tumor cells. Herein, we fabricate a tumor-microenvironment responsive CRISPR nanoplatform based on oxygen-deficient titania(TiO_(2-x)) for mild NIR-phototherapy. In tumor microenvironment, the overexpressed hyaluronidase(HAase) and glutathione(GSH) can readily destroy hyaluronic acid(HA) and disulfide bond and releases the Cas9/sgRNA from TiO_(2-x) to target the stress alleviating regulators, i.e., nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(NRF2) and heat shock protein 90a(HSP90a), thereby reducing the stress tolerance of tumor cells. Under subsequent NIR light illumination, the TiO_(2-x) demonstrates a higher anticancer effect both in vitro and in vivo. | 11 | Enhancing thermal conductivity of silicone rubber composites by insitu constructing SiC networks:A finite-element study based on first principles calculation显示文摘Polymer composites as thermal interface materials have been widely used in modern electronic equipment.In this work,we report a novel method to prepare highly through-plane thermally conductive silicone rubber(SR)composites with vertically aligned silicon carbide fibers(VA-SiCFs)entangled by SiC nanowires(SiCNWs)networks.First,a series of carbon fibers(CFs)skeletons were fabricated in sequence of coating poor thermally conductive polyacrylonitrile-based CFs with polydopamine,icetemplated assembly,and freeze-drying processes.Furthermore,VA-SiCFs networks,i.e.,long-range continuous SiCFs-SiCNWs networks,based on the prepared CFs skeletons,were in-situ obtained via template-assisted chemical vapor deposition method.The thermal conductivity enhancement mechanism of VA-SiCFs networks on its SR composites was also intensively studied by finite element simulation,based on the first principles investigation of SiC,and Foygel’s theory.The in-situ grown VA-SiCFs networks possess high intrinsic thermal conductivity without the thermal interface between fillers,acting as the high-efficiency through-plane long-range continuous thermal conduction path,in which the SiCNWs were the in-plane“thermal spreader”.The VA-SiCFs/SR composites reached a high through-plane thermal conductivity,2.13 W/(m·K),at the filler loading of 15 vol.%,which is 868.2%,and 249.2%higher than that of pure SR sample,and random-CFs@polydopamine(PDA)/SR composites at the same content,respectively.The VA-SiCFs/SR composites also exhibited good electrical insulation performance and excellent dimensional stability,which guaranteed the stable interfacial heat transfer of high-power density electronic devices. | Dongliang Ding Shiyu Zhang Haoyu Liang Xu Wang Ya Wu Yuanming Ye Zhenguo Liu Qiuyu Zhang Guangzhao Qin Yanhui Chen | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 0 |

| 14 | Foliar application of zinc promotes cadmium absorption by increasing expression of cadmium transporter genes and activities of antioxidative enzymes in winter wheat显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)is a deleterious non-essential metal in plants.To elucidate the mechanisms by which zinc(Zn)application alleviates cadmium(Cd)toxicity in wheat,we characterized plant growth,antioxidant system,leaf cell ultrastructure,and Cd transporter gene expression in winter wheat under Cd exposure(50μmol L^(-1)Cd)with foliar Zn application in a hydroponic experiment.Results showed that Zn addition(Zn+Cd)or pretreatment(pre-Zn+Cd)at 2 g L^(-1)as Zn_(S)O_(4)·7H_(2)O significantly exacerbated Cd-induced growth inhibition and diminished root morphological parameters,root cell viability,and chlorophyll content.In addition,the Cd content increased in roots and shoots in the Zn+Cd and pre-Zn+Cd treatments,but the Cd translocation factor decreased,when compared to the treatment without Zn application.After Zn application,the Cd content increased in the root cell wall fraction but decreased in the soluble fraction.The activities of antioxidative enzymes(superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,and catalase)and the contents of non-enzymatic antioxidants(malondialdehyde,ascorbic acid,and glutathione)significantly increased in the roots and shoots of wheat after Cd exposure,particularly in the Zn+Cd and pre-Zn+Cd treatments.Gene expression analysis showed that five genes(TaHMA2,TRIAE5370,TCONS1113,TRIAE5770,TRIAE1060,and TCONS5200)participated in root absorption of Cd,whereas TCONS5200 and TRIAE5660 contributed to Cd transfer to shoots.Foliar application of Zn increased the number of chloroplasts,but the chloroplast structure was destroyed in the Zn+Cd treatment.These results indicated that 2 g L^(-1)ZnSO4·7H2O increased the toxicity of 50μmol L^(-1)Cd.Increased Cd uptake due to the upregulated expression of Cd transporter genes and increased reactive oxygen species accumulation may be the reasons why Zn application aggravated Cd toxicity. | Shiyu QIN Yafang XU Hongen LIU Peng ZHAO | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,4: | 0 |
| 15 | Survey on performance optimization for database systems显示文摘The performance optimization of database systems has been widely studied for years. From the perspective of the operation and maintenance personnel, it mainly includes three topics: prediction, diagnosis,and tuning. The prediction of future performance can guide the adjustment of configurations and resources.The diagnosis of anomalies can determine the root cause of performance regression. Tuning operations improve performance by adjusting influencing factors, e.g., knobs, indexes, views, resources, and structured query language(SQL) design. In this review, we focus on the performance optimization of database systems and review notable research work on the topics of prediction, diagnosis, and tuning. For prediction, we summarize the techniques, strengths, and limitations of several proposed systems for single and concurrent queries. For diagnosis, we categorize the techniques by the input data, i.e., monitoring metrics, logs, or time metrics, and analyze their abilities. For tuning, we focus on the approaches commonly adopted by the operation and maintenance personnel, i.e., knob tuning, index selection, view materialization, elastic resource, storage management, and SQL antipattern detection.
