| 1 | Re-Os isotope dating of molybdenites in the Huang-shaping Pb-Zn-W-Mo polymetallic deposit, Hunan Province, South China and its geological significance显示文摘The large-scale Huangshaping Pb-Zn-W-Mo polymetallic deposit is located in the central Nanling min- eralization zone, South China. Six molybdenite samples from the Huangshaping deposit were selected for Re-Os isotope measurement in order to define the mineralization age of the deposit. It yields a Re-Os isochron age of 154.8±1.9 Ma (2σ ), which is in accordance with the Re-Os model ages of 150.9― 156.9 Ma. This age is about 7 Ma younger than their host granite porphyry, which was dated as 161.6±1.1 Ma by zircon U-Pb method using LA-ICPMS. All these ages demonstrate that the Huang- shaping granite and related Pb-Zn-W-Mo deposit occurred in the middle Yanshanian period, when many other granitoid and related ore deposits emplaced and formed, e.g. the Qitianling granite and Furong tin deposit, the Qianlishan granite and giant Shizhuyuan W-Sn-Mo-Bi deposit and Jinchuantang Sn-Bi deposit in the nearby area. They constitute the main part of the magmatic-metallogenic belt of southern Hunan, and represent the large-scale metallogeny in middle Yanshanian in the area. | 2 | Cardiac autonomic nerve fiber regeneration in chronic heart failure Do Akt gene-transduced mesenchymal stem cells promote repair?显示文摘BACKGROUND: Transplantation of Akt-over-expressing mesenchymal stem cells (Akt-MSCs) has been shown to repair infarcted myocardium and improve cardiac function. However, little is known about the therapeutic effects of Akt-MSCs on cardiac autonomic neuropathy in chronic heart failure (CHF). OBJECTIVE: The present study used adriamycin-induced CHF rat models to observe the effect of Akt-MSCs on cardiac autonomic nervous regeneration and the factors mediating this effect. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled animal experiment was performed at the Central Laboratory of Basic Medical College, China Medical University, between September 2008 and April 2009. MATERIALS: Rabbit anti-choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), growth associated protein-43 (GAP-43), synaptophysin (SYN) polyclonal antibodies and the secondary antibody (goat anti-rabbit IgG) were purchased from Boster, China. Cat-A-Kit assay system was provided by Amersham, USA. METHODS: (1) Adult rat MSCs were isolated and cultured for the preparation of Akt-MSCs. (2) Forty male Wistar rats were intramyocardially administered adriamycin at 2 mg/kg over 3 days for a total of five times and once a week for additional five times thereafter to establish CHF models. At 2 weeks after final adriamycin treatment, 34 successful CHF rat models were randomized to three groups: Akt-MSCs (n = 11), simple MSCs (s-MSCs, n =11), and control (n = 12). Each group was intravenously administered Akt-MSCs (2×106 cells in 100 μL PBS), s-MSCs (2×106 cells in 100 μL PBS) or equal volume of phosphate buffered saline, once a day for a total of three times. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 4 weeks after final adriamycin treatment, myocardial norepi- nephrine (NE) content was detected using a Cat-A-Kit assay system. Myocardial ChAT, SYN and GAP-43 were performed by immunohistochemistry and Western blot analysis. Prior to, 2 and 4 weeks after adriamycin treatment, echocardiographic examination was performed and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was determined. RESULTS: Myocardial NE content, as well as SYN-positive and GAP-43-positive nerve fiber density and expression, and LVEF, was the greatest in the Akt-MSCs group, followed by the s-MSCs group, and lastly the control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). ChAT expression was similar between Akt-MSCs and s-MSCs groups, but it was higher compared with the control group (P < 0.05). NE contents were negatively correlated to LVEF (r = -0.64, P = 0.015). | 5 | Production of A356 aluminum alloy wheels by thixo-forging combined with a low superheat casting process显示文摘The A356 aluminum alloy wheels were produced by thixo-forging combined with a low superheat casting process.The as-cast microstructure,microstructure evolution during reheating and the mechanical properties of thixo-forged wheels made from the A356 aluminum alloy were studied.The results show that the A356 aluminum alloy round billet with fine,uniform and non-dendritic grains can be obtained when the melt is cast at 635 oC.When the round billet is reheated at 600 oC for 60 min,the non-dendritic grains are changed into spherical ones and the round billet can be easily thixo-forged into wheels.The tensile strength,yield strength and elongation of the thixo-forged wheels with T6 heat treatment are 327.6 MPa,228.3 MPa and7.8%,respectively,which are higher than those of a cast wheel.It is suggested that the thixo-forging combined with the low superheat casting process is an effective technique to produce aluminum alloy wheels with high mechanical properties. | Wang Shuncheng Cai Chang Zheng Kaihong Qi Wenjun | 2013 | China Foundry2013,10,5: | 5 |
| 6 | Safety and effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicinal herbs for diabetic foot:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs(TCMHs) as an adjunctive treatment for diabetic foot(DF).METHODS: The sources used were Pub Med(1966 to August 2015), the Cochrane Library(1988 to August 2015), the Excerpta Medica Database(1974 to August 2015), Wiley(1807 to August 2015), Ovid(1988 to August 2015), Clinical Trials.gov(1993 to August 2015), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(1966 to August 2015), China Science and Technology Journal Database(1994 to August2015), Chi CTR(2007 to August 2015), Sino Med(1978 to August 2015), the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(1984 to August 2015), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(1998 to August 2015), and the Traditional Chinese Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System(TCMLARS)(1984 to August 2015). Studies were identified and selected, and the data were extracted by two independent reviewers. The Cochrane Risk of Bias tool was used to assess the quality of studies. Revman 5.2 software was used for data synthesis and analysis.RESULTS: Sixteen studies were included based on the selection criteria. Of these, seven studies had low bias risk and one had high bias risk. In the overall analysis, TCMHs resulted in a significantly higher total effective rate(OR 5.08; 95% CI 3.50 to7.36; P < 0.000 01), cure rate(OR 2.12; 95% CI1.63 to 2.77; P < 0.000 01), and shorter time to ulcer healing(SMD-0.64; 95% CI-0.89 to-0.40;P < 0.000 01) when compared with non-TCMHs treated DF. | 9 | Modeling and verifying chlorine decay and chloroacetic acid formation in drinking water chlorination显示文摘This study presents a phenomenological model that can be used by the water professionals to quantify chlorine decay and disinfection byproduct(DBP)formation in water.The kinetic model was developed by introducing the concept of limiting chlorine demand and extending an established reactive species approach.The limiting chlorine demand,which quantifies chlorine reactive natural organic matter(NOM)on an equivalent basis,was mathematically defined by the relation between ultimate chlorine residue and initial chlorine dose.It was found experimentally that NOM in water has limiting chlorine demand that increases with chlorine dose once the ultimate residue is established.These results indicated that the complex NOM has a unique ability to adjust chemically to the change in redox condition caused by the free chlorine.It is attributed mainly to the redundant functional groups that persist in heterogeneous NOM molecules.The results also demonstrated that the effect of chlorine dose on the rate of chlorine decay can be quantitatively interpreted with the limiting chlorine demand.The kinetic model developed was validated for chlorine decay and chloroacetic acid formation in finished drinking water. | Wenjun LIU Shaoying QI | 2010 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2010,4,1: | 3 |
| 10 | Optimal locations of monitoring stations in water distribution systems under multiple demand patterns: a flaw of demand coverage method and modification显示文摘A flaw of demand coverage method in solving optimal monitoring stations problem under multiple demand patterns was identified in this paper. In the demand coverage method, the demand coverage of each set of monitoring stations is calculated by accumulating their demand coverage under each demand pattern, and the impact of temporal distribution between different time periods or demand patterns is ignored. This could lead to miscalculation of the optimal locations of the monitoring stations. To overcome this flaw, this paper presents a Demand Coverage Index (DCI) based method. The optimization considers extended period unsteady hydrau- lics due to the change of nodal demands with time. The method is cast in a genetic algorithm framework for integration with Environmental Protection Agency Net (EPANET) and is demonstrated through example applica- tions. | 11 | Chemical oxidation of arsenic in the environment and its application in remediation: A mini review显示文摘Arsenic(As)contamination in soil and water poses a serious threat to the ecosystem health and human beings,and is of widespread concern.The main As species found in soil and water are arsenite As(Ⅲ)and arsenate As(V).Because As(Ⅲ)is more toxic and often more mobile than As(Ⅴ),many remediation strategies aim to oxidize As(Ⅲ)to As(Ⅴ).In the environment,the reduction of As(Ⅴ)under anaerobic conditions is mainly mediated by microorganisms,but the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)under aerobic conditions can be mediated primarily by chemical processes.This article first reviews the existing knowledge on chemical oxidation of As(Ⅲ)in the environment,with an emphasis on the roles of iron(Fe)and manganese(Mn)oxides.The application of Fe and Mn oxides for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water is then summarized.The oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by oxygen is very slow in the absence of catalysts.Many Mn oxides,on the other hand,can efficiently oxidize As(Ⅲ).Although the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by Fe(Ⅲ)is also slow,this process can be accelerated by light or Fe(Ⅱ).Iron and Mn oxides are widely used for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water,with Fe oxides generally acting as absorbents while Mn oxides as oxidants.To better understand and regulate As transformation and transport in the environment,further study is needed on the mechanisms and influencing factors of As(Ⅲ)oxidation by Fe and Mn oxides,and the development of innovative methods and materials based on Fe and Mn oxides are desired. | Chaolei YUAN Qi LI Zhaoyang SUN Wenjun ZHANG Jiangrong CHEN Zheng CHEN Shuo NA Hongwen SUN | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,1: | 2 |

To the receiver, higher interception efficiency means more thermal shocks and stronger stresses of high temperatures mainly contribute to the reduction of receiver's life time. To address these problems,a semi-random distribution strategy is proposed to select the best aiming point of the heliostat, and the distribution of onedimensional array arranged on the centerline of the receiver is carried out for further optimization. | 15 | Effects of seed furrow liquid spraying device on sowing quality and seedling growth of maize显示文摘The two cultivation patterns,no-tillage and ridge cultivation,are widely used in maize planting in Northeast China.However,the seed bounce in the falling process and drought seriously at the seedling stage often occur to affect the sowing quality,mean emergence time,percentage of emergence,root biomass,aboveground biomass and root shoot ratio of maize,and eventually reduces the grain yield.To solve the problems,a seed furrow liquid spraying device was designed and thereby the effects of spraying water volumes[0 L/m(V0),0.6 L/m(V1),1.2 L/m(V2)and 1.8 L/m(V3)]and nozzle types[conical nozzle(N1)and sectorial nozzle(N2)]on the sowing quality and seedling growth of maize were studied.The water volume and nozzle type had significant effects on the sowing quality(QR,CV,LD),not seedling growth(MET,PE,RB,AB,RSR)(p<0.05).Spraying water into seed furrow further humidified the soils around the maize seeds,effectively suppressing the bounce and rolling of seed and significantly promoting the growth and development of seeds.The sowing quality in the N2 treatment was significantly better than that in the N1 treatment.The qualified rate of seed spacing was increased with the increase of the water volume(V3>V2>V1>V0).However,the variability coefficient of seed spacing and lateral deviation of seed position were the opposite.The larger spraying water volume led to shorter mean emergence time(V0>V1>V2>V3)and higher percentage of emergence(V3>V2>V1>V0).The root biomass and aboveground biomass increased significantly with the enlargement of spraying water volume.Under different water volumes,the root shoot ratio differed significantly.The plants in the V1,V2 and V3 treatments had lower root shoot ratios compared with the V0 treatment.The increase of spraying water volume significantly reduced the root shoot ratio.The seed furrow liquid spraying device provides a reference for improving sowing quality and promoting seedling growth. | Wenjun Wang Wanpeng Wang Honglei Jia Jian Zhuang Qi Wang | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,2: | 2 |
| 16 | Investigation of PM_(2.5) pollution during COVID-19 pandemic in Guangzhou,China显示文摘The COVID-19 pandemic has raised awareness about various environmental issues,includ-ing PM_(2.5) pollution.Here,PM_(2.5) pollution during the COVID-19 lockdown was traced and an-alyzed to clarify the sources and factors influencing PM_(2.5) in Guangzhou,with an emphasis on heavy pollution.The lockdown led to large reductions in industrial and traffic emissions,which significantly reduced PM_(2.5) concentrations in Guangzhou.Interestingly,the trend of PM_(2.5) concentrations was not consistent with traffic and industrial emissions,as minimum concentrations were observed in the fourth period(3/01-3/31,22.45 μg/m^(3))of the lockdown.However,the concentrations of other gaseous pollutants,e.g.,SO_(2),NO_(2) and CO,were corre-lated with industrial and traffic emissions,and the lowest values were noticed in the sec-ond period(1/24-2/0_(3))of the lockdown.Meteorological correlation analysis revealed that the decreased PM_(2.5) concentrations during COVID-19 can be mainly attributed to decreased in-dustrial and traffic emissions rather than meteorological conditions.When meteorological factors were included in the PM_(2.5) composition and backward trajectory analyses,we found that long-distance transportation and secondary pollution offset the reduction of primary emissions in the second and third stages of the pandemic.Notably,industrial PM_(2.5) emis-sions from western,southern and southeastern Guangzhou play an important role in the formation of heavy pollution events.Our results not only verify the importance of control-ling traffic and industrial emissions,but also provide targets for further improvements in PM_(2.5) pollution. | Luyao Wen Chun Yang Xiaoliang Liao Yanhao Zhang Xuyang Chai Wenjun Gao Shulin Guo Yinglei Bi Suk-Ying Tsang Zhi-Feng Chen Zenghua Qi Zongwei Cai | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5: | 2 |

| 18 | Stable confinement of Fe/Fe_(3)C in Fe,N-codoped carbon nanotube towards robust zinc-air batteries显示文摘Catalytic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)have garnered great attention as the key character in metal-air batteries.Herein,we developed a superior nonprecious bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst,fabricated through spatial confinement of Fe/Fe_(3)C nanocrystals in pyridinic N and Fe-Nx rich carbon nanotubes(Fe/Fe_(3)C-N-CNTs).During ORR,the resultant electrocatalyst exhibits positive onset pote ntial of 1.0 V(vs.RHE),large half-wave potentials of 0.88 V(vs.RHE),which is more positive than Pt/C(0.98 V and 0.83 V,respectively).Remarkably,Fe/Fe_(3)C-N-CNTs exhibits outstanding durability and great methanol tolerance,exceeding Pt/C and most reported nonprecious metal-based oxygen reduction electrocatalysts.Moreover,Fe/Fe_(3)C-N-CNTs show a markedly low potential at j=10 mA/cm^(2),small Tafel slopes and extremely high stability for OER.Impressively,the Fe/Fe_(3)C-N-CNTs-based Zn-air batteries demonstrate high power density of 183 mW/cm^(2)and robust charge/discharge stability.It is revealed that the spatial confinement effect can impede the aggregation and corrosion of Fe/Fe_(3)C nanocrystals.Meanwhile,Fe/Fe_(3)C and Fe-Nx play synergistic effect on boosting the ORR/OER activity,which provides an important guideline for construction of inexpensive nonprecious metal-carbon hybrid nanomaterials. | Lingbo Zong Xin Chen Shuming Dou Kaicai Fan Zumin Wang Wenjun Zhang Yunmei Du Jie Xu Xiaofei Jia Qi Zhang Xia Li Yida Deng Yanan Chen Lei Wang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Endothelial METRNL determines circulating METRNL level and maintains endothelial function against atherosclerosis显示文摘METRNL is a recently identified secreted protein with emerging functions.This study is to find major cellular source of circulating METRNL and to determine METRNL novel function.Here,we show METRNL is abundant in human and mouse vascular endothelium and released by endothelial cells using endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi apparatus pathway.By creating endothelial cell-specific Metrnl knockout mice,combined with bone marrow transplantation to produce bone marrow-specific deletion of Metrnl,we demonstrate that most of circulating METRNL(approximately 75%)originates from the endothelial cells.Both endothelial and circulating METRNL decrease in atherosclerosis mice and patients.By generating endothelial cell-specific Metrnl knockout in apolipoprotein E-deficient mice,combined with bone marrow-specific deletion of Metrnl in apolipoprotein E-deficient mice,we further demonstrate that endothelial METRNL deficiency accelerates atherosclerosis.Mechanically,endothelial METRNL deficiency causes vascular endothelial dysfunction including vasodilation impairment via reducing eNOS phosphorylation at Ser1177 and inflammation activation via enhancing NFκB pathway,which promotes the susceptibility of atherosclerosis.Exogenous METRNL rescues METRNL deficiency induced endothelial dysfunction.These findings reveal that METRNL is a new endothelial substance not only determining the circulating METRNL level but also regulating endothelial function for vascular health and disease.METRNL is a therapeutic target against endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. | Sili Zheng Zhiyong Li Jie Song Pin Wang Jian Xu Wenjun Hu Yi Shi Qi Qi Zhuwei Miao Yunfeng Guan Chaoyu Miao | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,4: | 2 |
| 20 | Phycocyanin attenuates X-ray-induced pulmonary inflammation via the TLR2-MyD88-NF-κB signaling pathway显示文摘Phycocyanin (PC), a natural algal protein, is reported for having anti-oxidant and antiinfl ammatory properties. We investigated its ability to attenuate lung infl ammation in mice subjected to X-ray radiation. Male C57BL/6 mice were assigned to the control, total body irradiation, PC pretreatment, and PC treatment groups. Mice in the PC pretreatment group were gavaged with 200 mg/kg PC for 7 consecutive days before irradiation, and those in the PC treatment group were gavaged with 200 mg/kg PC for 7 consecutive days after irradiation. Lungs were collected on Day 7 after irradiation exposure. Hematoxylin and eosin staining of mouse lung sections showed considerable infl ammation damage 7 days after irradiation compared with the control lung but a reduction in pathological injury in the PC treatment group. Pretreatment or treatment with PC signifi cantly decreased levels of interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α in the lung, and also increased the relative mRNA expression of superoxide dismutase and glutathione. In vivo, PC signifi cantly reduced the expression of Toll-like receptor TLR2, myeloid diff erentiation primary response Myd88, and nuclear factor NF-κB, at both the transcriptional and translation level. Taken together, these data indicated that PC attenuated lung infl ammatory damage induced by radiation by blocking the TLR2- MyD88-NF-κB signaling pathway.
