5New progress in roles of nitric oxide during hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury显示文摘Hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a clinical condition which may lead to cellular injury and organ dysfunction. The role of nitric oxide(NO) in HIRI is complicated and inconclusive. NO produced by endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS) activation plays a protective role during early HIRI. But e NOS overexpression and the resulting excessive NO bioavailability can aggravate liver injury. NO induced by inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS) may have either a protective or a deleterious effect during the early phase of HIRI, but it may protect the liver during late HIRI. Here, we reviewed the latest findings on the role of NO during HIRI:(1) NO exerts a protective effect against HIRI by increasing NO bioavailability, downregulating p53 gene expression, decreasing inflammatory chemokines, reducing ROS via inhibiting the mitochondrial respiratory chain, activating s GCGTP-c GMP signal pathway to reduce liver cell apoptosis, and regulating hepatic immune functions;(2) e NOS protects against HIRI by increasing NO levels, several e NOS/NO signal pathways(such as Akt-e NOS/NO, AMPK-e NOS/NO and HIF-1α-e NOS/NO) participating in the anti-HIRI process, and inhibiting over-expression of e NOS also protects against HIRI; and(3) the inhibition of i NOS prevents HIRI. 7Cyber-physical-social-thinking space based science and technology framework for the Internet of Things显示文摘The Internet of Things(Io T)as an emerging network paradigm is bringing the next scientific and technological revolution for ubiquitous things’interactions in cyber-physical-social spaces.The Io T influences the current science and technology system by enabling its relatively stable interrelations for an inevitable architecture reconfiguration.In this paper,we aim to explore an updated science and technology framework for the Io T.Particularly,a novel cyber-physical-social-thinking(CPST)space is established by involving an attractive concept of the Internet of Thinking(Io Tk),and a science and technology framework is accordingly proposed referring to both scientific aspect(i.e.,cyber-physical,social,and noetic sciences)and technological aspect(i.e.,fundamental,physical,cyber,and social technologies).According to the perspective of the traditional Chinese culture,we explain the established science and technology framework,in which the'Five Elements'(i.e.,wood,fire,earth,metal,and water)have common properties with the restructured cyber-physical science in the Io T.Moreover,we introduce a scenario of smart city to identify the technological aspect in the Io T,and discuss the key enabling technologies,including resource management,energy management,data management,session management,security and privacy,loop control,space-time consistency,nanotechnology,and quantum technology.It turns out that the established science and technology framework will launch an innovation for academia and industry communities.NING HuanSheng LIU Hong 2015Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,3:15

9The Intervention Effect of Rosiglitozone in Ovarian Fibrosis of PCOS Rats显示文摘Objective To explore the Intervention effect of Rosiglitozone in ovarian fibrosis of PCOS rats.Methods 60 female SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group,model group and treatment group.The model and treatment groups were established by subcutaneous injection of DHEA,while the treatment group was given RGZ.The serum hormone values,pathohistology of ovarian structure of rats,ovarian ultrastructure and the expressions of TGF-β 1 and CTGF were detected.Results The PCOS model was established successfully.The expression intensity of TGF-β 1 and CTGF in Oocytes of the PCOS groups was 9.545±2.954 and 9.665±2.400,respectively and was significantly higher than that of the control group 6.636±2.264 and 7.036±2.133;after treatment with rosiglitazone,the expression was significantly decreased 6.980±2.421 and 6.642±2.721 as compared with that of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).The values in serum of the PCOS groups were 3.749±2.054 and 0.265±0.129,and 1.914±1.801 and 0.096±0.088 in the control group which had statistically significant difference (P<0.05,P<0.001).After treatment with rosiglitazone,the values were 2.3100±1.825 and 0.112±0.187 and were significantly different with those of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).Conclusion TGF-β 1 and CTGF play an important role in the development of ovary fibrosis in PCOS.However,RGZ may postpone the development of fibrosis by decreasing the levels of TGF-β 1 and CTGF.MIAO Zhu Lin GUO Liang WANG Yong Xia CUI Rong YANG Ning HUANG Mi Qiong QIN Wei Bing CHEN Jin LI Hong Mei WANG Zi Neng WEI Xiang Cai 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:14

14Identification of a Newly Isolated Getah Virus in the China-Laos Border,China显示文摘In this study, we isolated a virus strain(YN12031) from specimens of Armigeres subalbatus collected in the China-Laos border. BHK-21 cells infected with YN12031 exhibited an evident cytopathic effect(CPE) 32 h post-infection. The virus particles were spherical, 70 nm in diameter, and enveloped; they also featured surface fibers. Molecular genetic analysis revealed that YN12031 was closely related to alpha viruses such as Chikungunya virus and Sindbis virus, and located in the same clade as MM2021, the prototype of Getahvirus(GETV) isolated in Malaysia in 1955. Phylogenetic analysis of the E2 and capsid genes further revealed that YN12031 was located in the same clade as the Russian isolate LEIV/16275/Mag. Analysis of the homology of nucleotides and amino acids in the coding area and E2 gene demonstrated that the YN12031 isolated from the China-Laos border(tropical region) was related closest to the LEIV/16275/Mag isolate obtained in Russia(North frigid zone area) among other isolates studied. These results suggest that GETV can adapt to different geographical environments to propagate and evolve. 16Influence of aquatic plants on the hydrogen isotope composition of sedimentary long-chain n-alkanes in the Lake Qinghai region, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘The hydrogen isotopic composition(δD) of leaf wax long-chain n-alkanes(C27, C29, and C31) from lacustrine sediments has been widely applied to reconstruct terrestrial paleoclimatic and paleohydrological changes. However, few studies have addressed whether the aquatic-derived n-alkanes can affect the δD values of lake sedimentary long-chain n-alkanes, which are usually regarded as a recorder of the terrestrial hydrological signals. Here we systematically investigated δD values of long-chain n-alkanes from modern aquatic plants, both near-shore and off-shore surface sediments, surrounding terrestrial plant litters, as well as river water and lake water in Lake Qinghai and its satellite lakes on the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our data showed that(i) δD values of long-chain n-alkanes from aquatic plants varied from-184‰ to-132‰ for n-C27, from-183‰ to-138‰ for n-C29, and from-189‰ to-130‰ for n-C31, respectively, with no significant differences among the three n-alkanes homologues;(ii) δD values of long-chain n-alkanes from aquatic plants were generally more positive than those from surrounding terrestrial plants, possibly because that they recorded the D-enrichment of lake water in this semi-arid region;(iii) δD values of long-chain n-alkanes from surface sediments showed significant differences among the three n-alkanes homologues, due to the larger aquatic input of n-C27 to the sedimentary lipid pool than that of n-C31, and(iv) n-C27 δD values of near-shore aquatic plants and near-shore sediments are more negative than those from off-shore as a result of lower δD values of near-shore lake water. Our findings indicate that in this region(i) the offset between sedimentary n-C27 and n-C31 δD values(ΔδDC27-C31) could potentially be used to evaluate if sedimentary long-chain n-alkanes are derived from a single source;(ii) while δD values of n-C27 may be influenced by lake water hydrological changes, sedimentary n-C31 is derived predominantly from terrestrial plants and thus its δD can serve as a relatively reliable indicator for terrestrial paleoclimatic and paleohydrological reconstructions.LIU Wei Guo YANG Hong WANG Huan Ye YAO Yuan WANG Zheng CAO Yun Ning 2016Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,7:10

19AFLP Fingerprinting and Genetic Diversity of Main Sweetpotato Varieties in China显示文摘AFLP fingerprinting of the 98 main sweetpotato varieties planted in China has been constructed. Using 17 AFLP primer combinations which were selected from 1 208 primer combinations and generated the most amounts of polymorphic bands, AFLP analysis of the 98 main sweetpotato varieties gave a total of 410 clear polymorphic bands with an average of 24.12 polymorphic bands per primer combination. Each one of the 98 sweetpotato varieties could be clearly distinguished by EcoR I-cta/Mse I-ggc primer combination which generated the most polymorphic bands. AFLP-based genetic distance ranged from 0.0546 to 0.5709 with an average of 0.3799. The dendrogram based on AFLP markers indicated that sweetpotato varieties coming from the same regions or having same parents were clustered in the same groups. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) revealed greater variations within regions (94.08%) than among regions (5.92%). Thus, the genetic variations mainly existed within regions, while the variations among regions were very low in the tested sweetpotato varieties.
